  • Gosh jade that reminds me of many a late session in school doing admin when everyone else was gone home. Freezing and scary!! What’s de lecture about? Have u tried using a magnet to try and coax ur earring out from its hiding place?
Milena we have this fd beaten. Yippee!
PH thanks for all de encouragement. U must be awake all night

Thanks Milena, let’s power through together, it does feel like new terrain. Cats…yes, I’m pretty sure they were behind the disappearance of previous lost earrings here too, which (unlike the mysteries of SJ’s magic car) have never been seen again. Sadly I was a bit tipsy Sat night and not sure when/where it fell off. Grrr. Hey Fit, my talk is about about traffic citations – we’ll just say I have a passing familiarity.
GG meant to wish you well before – so glad your mum is holding her own and being feisty, if that’s the right word – got some Aussie determination in your genetic history, don’t you πŸ™‚ xx

Morning/evening all. Boy you guys have been busy overnight. FD over and feeling very pleased with myself I did go over about 100 cals but that is about 2000 less than normal so all good. Our schools are on holidays here until Jan 28th then they will go back to the sweltering heat of February. Some schools have all Mon cons, others sadly have to put up with the leftovers as far as facilities are concerned. No doubt there will be some feeling the heat.
We go away every winter up north for four/five months and I always hide my jewellery case and last winter I asked OH to put it somewhere safe and you guessed it, when we came home neither of us knew where it was hidden. It took us four months to find it. Great hiding place! So long story short, it will turn up when you least expect it.
Glad your mum is feeling good, mine sadly has the early stages of dementia and is very aggressive when not treated with kid gloves. Her doctor said she had short term memory loss so she is sticking to that. Getting her to have a shower is a nightmare. Anyway, I still have her so that’s one blessing.
Kicks up the you know where and lots of encouragement is the order of the day/s have a great day/evening all and enjoy whatever you are up to. Mine…..you guessed it, more spring cleaning. I k ow I have been doing the “20 minutes” since Saturday but gee I feel really energised. It’s a great feeling and one I haven’t felt for a long time. Must be the 2.4kg loss, very happy 😁😁😁.
Sorry for the ramble it was meant to be a quick check in xxx

    Spelling checker : mod cons

Ok, I didn’t fast yesterday and got on the scales this morning. Up about 1 and a half kilos from my lowest.

I have many excuses for why I have not been fasting and why the next few weeks are going to be difficult but it is time to get a grip and get back on the horse properly, no matter what.

Therefore, I am fasting today! I am still eating far less on any given day without even thinking about it so that is a plus.

    Off to boil the eggs!

    “Your mind is a garden
    Your thoughts are the seed
    You can grow flowers
    Or you can grow weeds”

Good morning /evening team……so much doubt out there…YOU CAN DO IT, it’s mind set, stop the negativity…….counting the time down, what you are actually doing is obsessing on food…..and wasting your precious life clock watching…you ARE in control, so focus on something else, anything else, go for a walk, put a movie on……your head isn’t busy enough to control your tummy get your hands busy, do some filing…..clean out a cupboard..think think thinkπŸ™„
Your planting seeds of doubt rather than just sailing through the day unaffected. You will not starve, if you have planned in advance, no room for stuff up’s there are plenty of herbal teas to make your day interesting, so get on with it, stop wollowing in frustration and self pity, THIS IS FOR YOU, it’s your eating pattern of the past that bought you here and the fabulous results you know you get with 5:2 πŸ˜ƒ so let the flowers grow team, and the sun will shine for you.
We can talk ourselves into most things, we can convince ourselves, or that little devil on our shoulder can, that it’s all too hard, blah!! It’s dead easy, need to get your teeth into something, have a crisp apple, if your hearing the tummy gurgles, think of it as FAT dissolving, convince yourself of the positives πŸ˜€ YOU CAN DO IT, and will …..and you WILL see results……
Phew, getting heavy for this hour of the morning is better than exercise, πŸ˜‰ c’mon team, we do get the odd fast which seems a bit difficult, but miso soup is a warm filler, an apple,a piece of celery or carrot gets the teeth and mouth involved, it’s more of a rebellion attitude we feel, but rebel against the HABIT not hunger,of reaching for that snack.
We still have one or two fasts to go this week, so make your non fasting days count, if you can stick around your TDEE, the fasting days don’t seem as difficult. Have a snack free week πŸ˜ƒ practice just healthy meals, and of course portion control, that’s the biggest key. Snacks are a treat, have you earned it!
Positive day team, may you all reep the benefits of 5:2 and the “interesting” journey with new found friends here at AUSSIE DETERMINATION πŸ’žπŸ˜‰ xxxxxxx

Jade, just a thought, check out the top/jumper you were wearing when you last saw your ear rings, they can get caught in it when you pull it off over your head…..

Great encouragement CG and I have copied those lines at the beginning of your post.
I am beginning FD number 3. This morning I made Muchroom,Pepper, and Tomato Concasse with Thin Rye Crispbread. Yep you guessed it, out of the recipe book. Little bit of preparation, roasting peppers and chopping but it was really tasty. Tonight will be Turkey burgers, broccoli and zucchini. I am trying to go without anything during the day except for black green tea and water. I did manage that on FD 1 but had a little nibble at lunchtime on FD 2. It was only the celery and lettuce but I still had it.
Off to do my volunteer work so I will be kept busy. Will be back home about 4:30 possibly ready to gnaw someone’s leg off!

SJ – I have found it too hot to walk over the past couple of days but I will walk down to the information centre this morning and hopefully back this afternoon. It is going to be a hot one again and coming up that hill in the heat is a real challenge.

CG – My mother was a professional dressmaker too and guess what, I don’t sew a stitch. In latter years I regretted that especially when my children where little but when I pick up a needle I become a whole different person. That person is very snappy and bad tempered so it is virtually a non existent event. Maybe a button here and there but that is it!

DOGGY – It is easier for me because my husband is doing it with me so no temptation there.

BARB – We went overseas in 2013 for 9 weeks and my husband put his car keys in a safe place. So safe we have still not found them and that is after packing an entire household up and moving interstate. Lucky I had a spare on my keyring.

Well, off out now. Have a good day everybody.

Cooking question please. In the sausage casserole it says 1/2 pint red lentils. What is 1/2 pint?

Mornin CG! You are so right. No time for navel gazing! Very pleased with my fd and didn’t find it too hard at all. Lady I hoped wd do care manager for my sister is not available so it’s back to the drawing board.

Up, life does get in the way sometimes, but for an experienced faster like you, I’m sure you will grab 5:2 with both hands and move on πŸ˜ƒ don’t be hard on yourself and sweating the small stuff is time consuming, just take a deep breath think positive and smile……you may still be a bit sore and shaken by your fall, so be easy with your thoughts πŸ˜ŠπŸ’ xxxxxxx

Hi Fit, oh what a shame, but at least you have a plan to put in place now, even an advertisement in your local paper might help. Some retired nurses are looking for extra pocket money and don’t feel quite ready for the scrap heap πŸ˜‰…..worth a try? Enjoy your evening, things will work out for the best,nI’m sure xxxxxπŸ’•

That’s bad news Fit. Maybe that lady would recommend someone that’s works with the same principles as she does?

    Barb, 1/2 pt is around 1 cup..xxxxx

    Thank you 😬😬

Just a quick drop in to say Hi!
FD today and doing wonderful. I feel so much better than I did this morning! Thank heavens. I will finish the day out strong. FYI…… I actually got in all my water today! I had to pee like every 5 min. But I did it…..
SJ…. I’m glad you were able to recover from your momentary oops!
PH…… I’m doing fantastic! Thank you for checking in on me….. How are you?
Jade…… Here is some of my joy, determination, delight, happiness, and encouragement for the sandwich you are building for yourself. Also a little spunk, for flavor!
Just a thought, have you tried putting some nylon on the end of your vacuum hose? It will pick up odds and ends without sending into the canister. It allows you to get into all the nooks and crannies..
To all those I dint get a chance to reply too…… Keep up the hard work! You all are fantastic!

Hi All. Barb I assume that’s the recipe from the 52recipes.co.uk site. I cook that one all the time. It’s my favourite as it’s soo filling because of the lentils. I try to keep batches in the freezer & if I’ve had a starving hungry day I’ll have that one for dinner as I know I’ll always make it to bedtime! But the stupid 1/2 pint of lentils was a real pain. I read all the comments for the recipe & shot off a couple of emails at the time. The answer was to use 300gr of dry lentils & it works out very well. I’ve actually popped that version up onto our aussie determination recipe site. Mind you MFP calculates it at 201 calories but I’ve kept it at the 250 cals as listed on the original recipe – I just don’t trust that lower number somehow & don’t want to mess up my FD! Hope that helps. sj XXXX

Thanks for that. I actually have 2 versions? One from the 5:2 then I noticed one on the Aussie site. B

Well Bert glad to hear that you’re doing wonderful on a FD. And can sure empathise with you on the peeing front. OH got sick & tired I reckon of seeing me rush past his studio so many times yesterday…..even more so than usual! Not sure how I’d go if I had to work all day.
Fit that’s a pity but….at least you HAVE a drawing board now to go back to & brainstorm or the like. Someone will turn up or come to mind I’m sure.
Genie sounds like you’re well and truly prepared for your FD so you’ll do well!! By the way where do you volunteer at? I too have a big hill between home & the town & it’s a challenge on some days. Some days I cheat & go a different way.
CG once again great message. Love that opening statement….great for all of us.
UT good decision & sure you will have a very successful FD. That extra will be gone in a flash.
Barb any FD you do even one over by 100 cals is still a winner & as you say WAY less than we used to eat as a norm. So be happy with that. Sorry about your mum. Both my mum and grandma had dementia & it’s no picnic is it. {{{ }}} your way
Jade I gather you were “passing” fairly fast at the time?! Or have I misinterpreted your comment? X

Well have to get used to only one day in between FD’s this week with doing a M/W/F. Have never been successful with it before but bl$$#@ determined to get the number well down this week. And to feel more comfortable. An interesting thought: these days 3 kilos extra makes me feel uncomfortable but why wasn’t I uncomfortable with the extra 12 kilos??!! Well I know I actually was but it took years to make me do something about it. But it’s really a good thing if that’s the case as we won’t let it happen again. 5:2 has fine-tuned us a LOT & we can’t take the extra weight, can’t take the fatty foods, feel totally stuffed & even unwell if we try to eat like we used to. AIN’T IT GRAND!!!!! πŸ™‚ suejen have a fab day all xxxx

Totally agree sj, now we have felt the difference when lower in weight, we do feel the extra when it happens, plus our clothes are smaller so they are tighter when we gain the few extra K’s ……so use it as a “nudge” or a reminder…..check the scales, back off a bit…..whatever works, it’s all a reminder πŸ˜ƒπŸ’xxxx

Bert I’m so pleased for you, your attitude and excitement will get you to your goal, but above all, feeling healthier πŸ˜€xxxxx

Thanks for all the finding suggestions. CG I went over the jumper/sweater thread by thread but hope was dashed – not there. Bert, thanks I hadn’t thought of nylon over the vac, will try that next. Thanks for the lost-keys stories all, have done that too. Safe place indeed!
CG thank you esp for the comment about obsessing while life passes by. Had I looked at it that way yesterday, I’d have fared much better – writing that one down. Genie, Barb keep up the good work – you can do it! Don’t gnaw anyone’s leg off – WAY too many calories.
Fit ah sorry about the caregiver – hoping another angel is in the wings. We have lovely nurses looking after my mom but it did take some trial and error.
SJ, HA yes my familiarity with traffic court came from passing fairly fast — in front of a POLICE OFFICER lol. Not just the one time, either…
Off to cook OH some pasta while I send some zucchini thru the spiralizer – that thing is awesome. Now everyone has what they want for dinner πŸ™‚ xxxxx

Just went to aqua aerobics for an hour. Does that mean I can have another 340cals?

Barb!!! NO NO NO, that’s extra fat that you have burnt….WHY replace it?? Good girl, keep it up ….πŸ˜€xxxxxxx

    Bugger!!!!!

I thought it was too good to be true. I had this huge steak in mind 😀😀😀

I did mean to say, don’t think debit/Credit……just think GONE FOR GOOD, πŸ˜ƒπŸ’•xxxxx

Hello team. My fist FD for a month went off OK yesterday. I’ve already had an change of plan. I was going to try and combine the Atkkns diet with the 5:2 but have decided it’s in the too hard basket. I think the psychology behind this way of eating is so positive. It’s the “what I can’t have today I can have tomorrow ” that works so well in my opinion.
We had rather a hissy fit session with our grandson last night. Hubby was playing a game with him that is supposed to help him wiht his arithmetic. He objected to the way in which the game was played and insisted on phoning his parents and complaining that he’s being badly treated. Luckily hubby is more patient than I am as I was ready to hop in the car and drive him off to the airport there and then. Things seem to nave quietienee down this morning. We really do worry about him as his numeracy and literacy skills are way behind for his age group.
Thanks for the list of authors some of you have given me. I think I’ve read most of Bryce Cournetys books. I also like John Grisham. What a prolific writer he is.

Have the steak for dinner, but only portion size to fit your daily cals πŸ˜‰ you’ll be extra proud of yourself xxxxx

Oh yeah Doggy, he grips me, as did The DaVinci Code, different author but love a book I can’t put down…..John Grisham was a lawyer so knows all the tricks of what he writes about πŸ™„
The issue with your grandson should’t be your concern, it’s a short term stay, his parents have his best interest at heart, so, deep breath, slow and steady, your just the baby sitter, make the time as enjoyable as possible for all concerned πŸ˜‰πŸ’ xxxxxx

Hi all. Barb..so funny. I asked CG the same question when I started….same answer..and of course she is completely correct. Wonderful advice from our mother hen. And of course great advice to Jade also. You have such a wonderful way with words CG ..what would we do without you? πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

After the pool exercises today I had to go and buy a new bed. What a marathon shopping effort. Hate deciding on a a new bed. You lie on one for a while and think it is OK then get on another one and think It is OK too then you have to decide between firm, medium and soft. Soft no good to me, so is it to be medium of firm.. Decisions, decisions, decisions. 3 different shape in close proximity . Got so over it in the end. However decided on a sealy posturepedic..and the firm as I figured that you can always add extra softness but can’t take it away. Great sales on at the moment so got it for 1/2 price. And how trusting is OH did not even ask me how much I spent when I got home, just when it is being delivered. Now the wait till it is ordered in and delivered. No one seems to keep things in stock anymore. πŸ›ŒπŸ›ŒπŸ›ŒπŸ›ŒπŸ›Œ

Regarding books I like a good “who done it ” and so enjoy Patricia Cornwell ,Lee Child, Janet Evanovich, Nelson DeMille . Peter Watts is also good and one of the funniest books I have read is called something like “The 100 year old man who climbed out of the window and ran away” so funny.

Good on everyone for doing well on Fast Day yesterday. Enjoy today as for many of us it is going to be Fst Day Again tomorrow. Think I’ll have a nice white peach they are really delicious at the moment.

Talk to you all later. Very hot here today so far but just came over cloudy. Looks like a storm brewing. 🌞🌞🌞πŸŒ₯πŸŒ₯πŸŒ₯β›ˆβ›ˆβ›ˆβ›ˆ

    That’s three different shops….

Doggy. You are ablolutely spot on with why this WOL works so well. “If I can’t have it today then I can have it tomorrow”. We do not need to deprive ourselves of anything, that is why it is possible to follow this wou for a lifetime. Nothing….absolutely nothing..is off Limits as long as we plan our portion controls well. I have had 5 pieces of fruit today because I could not help myself. The white peaches from Aldi are to die for. So I have had five. On,y had one meal though. After the pool a group of us get together at the hospital coffee shop and they make the nicest lite foccusia (not sure how to spell it) spelling not my forte at school. Anyway they have a really lite foccusia bread with chicken, baby spinach , tomato relish and cheese. Delicious. I treat myself to one occasionally with my coffee and today was the day . yummooooo. Anyway that and the peaches are all I’ve had. So should put it in MFP and see what I have left.
Hope tonight goes well with your grandson.

Barb. Good on you for starting aquarobics. How did you like it?

Jade. Sounds like you are a little bit of a “lead foot”. You will have to make sure it is not a police car in the future. My mother in law kept getting fines for speeding around Brisbane In her little old VW before she passed. None of us could figure out how she got it to go so fast. She was such a character.

SueJen. With so many of us doing the MWF fast this week we are sure to make it. More determination when there are a few doing it like this week. WE ARE AUSSIE DETERMINATION. WE CAN DO ANYTHING..πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡

Just finished the second little hat. They are just so cute. I am having so much fun making them but better get a couple made tomorrow if I want to give them to daughters friends before they go back to WA .. Nothing else but the pool tomorrow morning and then have the rest of the day free. So all should work.
Bye for now ..talk to you all later.

    Afternoon all.

well my iPad has bitten the dust so I wont be logging in so often until its fixed πŸ™ you cant blame me for trying PH. I thought I was on a roll there with an extra 340 cals. the aqua aerobics went well, nice bunch of girls.I made the sausage casserole with chipolatas (had to ask the girl in the deli what they were) I added basil and a little chilli, yum, yum. I have ordered the 100 year old man…..from the library via ebooks. it will be available of Feb 4th. I love reading and having my ipad cactus is not a good look. today I finished the two spare bedrooms top to bottom as well as the guest bathroom and loo. Have a great day/evening. forgive me if I don’t respond as per usual. I feel like my arm is cut off without my iPad.

Good evening all. Well I have got through my FD today. I had breakfast at 8 ish this morning and my next meal was dinner at 6.30. I had two black teas and two big glasses of water in between. We had turkey burgers, broccoli and zucchini for dinner. I still have 92 cals left so might have some strawberries and a little natural Greek yoghurt for dessert.
I did walk up the hill coming home this afternoon but had to have three stops in the shady bits on the way up. Going to be 41 tomorrow so don’t think I will walk home.
With regard to books – I love a good who dunnit too. My favourite authors are James Patterson, Michael Robotham, Jeffrey Deaver, Tim Weaver, Paul Finch. Robert Crais, Boris Starling and I could go on and on.
I feel lost if I don’t have a book on the go.

BARB – What has happened to your IPAD? Can it be saved? I often wonder what would happen to my info if my IPAD crashed.

SJ – I volunteer at the Warburton Visitor Information Centre. I do 10 to 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday and help out at other times if needed. I will be doing an extra shift on Saturday this week. The centre is entirely run by volunteers and we have two on each day. It is a lovely centre and has a fantastic gallery that has a new exhibition every three weeks. We also have a great Handmade section. I sell some of my things through there and you can only put things in if you are a local. I am exactly 12 minutes walk away which is very handy. A bit longer on the way home I think. There is no way of avoiding the dreaded hill as my road is a dead end and no other roads come onto it.

JL – I have as pralines too but have not used it yet. I bought it off EBAY.

Good luck to those doing another FD tomorrow. I am off to have a cuppa.

Oh meant to say I discovered the Aussie Determination Recipe thread yesterday and put my banana pancakes up because they are sooooooooooo delicious. πŸ˜„

love banana pancakes thanks GG. My iPad microphone didn’t work so cutting a long 4 hours story short, apple help helped me wipe out all the contents on my ipad. the microphone still doesn’t work so its off to the service dept. I haven’t even got MFP. I did however back it up so when it comes home from hospital it should be good as new πŸ˜‰

They are running aqua zumba on Fridays here. has anyone got any knowledge about this sort of exercise.

    Baby Caps photo Baby Caps_zpsimwbxif2.jpg

Just had to show these. had so much fun making them

PH just love them, could I put an order in for myself? They are the style I wear around my little farm, but also did in the 60’s πŸ˜ƒ
Sorry I’ve been slack posting today, just overly busy, and didn’t finish watering till 8:45 tonight, so a bit of steak and fresh asparagus for dinner….now a sip and a sit! Trying to watch a bit of the cricket, I love one dayers and have missed most of it, grrrr
Have you planned if fasting tomorrow? A bit of salad and some protein, is about all any of us need in the predicted heat here in the South! Sleep well team, rejuvinate the energy needed to tackle what ever is on tomorrow…πŸ’πŸ˜„ xxxxxx Bring it on, WE CAN DO IT xxxxxxxx

Hi all! Just popping in on my phone to say hello. You’re all doing so well!! Really have to get new laptop cos I’m going mad not being able to post properly :@

    love. love. love those hats

Genie you are really doing so well, and staying busy to boot, it all helps πŸ˜ƒ well done xxx

    Morning all……
Woke up in a glorious mood and before the alarm clock. Yesterday was my FD and I did great finished the night out with 4 oz of a chuck roast and 3 oz of carrots. Just under my calories, I was not hungry, so I didn’t have anything else for the rest of the evening. Today, no counting calories just going to try and get my water in.
PH……. Such cutie lil hats…. You are so talented!
Doggy….. Sorry about the little one….. They sure do like to push those buttons when they can. I know when my kids did that, we just stopped what we were doing and looked at them without saying a word until they stopped. Then when they stopped, we just continued doing what we did before the fit started. It worked great! Maybe it will help
Barb…… Zumba is a super fun exercise. Basically, it’s high energy dancing. It’s a mix of belly dancing, box steps, jazz and hip hop. I wouldn’t recommend it on a FD day. The faster you learn the routine the better it is, each songs has it own dance so to speak. Go to YouTube and watch a Zumba video.
Well, have a great day ladies!

PH they are just gorgeous!!! Do you have a pattern for them? Though I gather that you just make things from scratch or from the actual item – much more clever then me.
Barb I know that Zumba is a really fast frantic exercise that the younger ones do so I expect that aqua zumba is just a bit less frantic! Would get you fit though.
Genie will look up those banana pancakes as they sound yummy. You’re getting into adding recipes already – well done. Your volunteering sounds interesting – great that you get to sell items there too. You’re about the same walking distance from the town centre as we are.

Better go as the dinner is calling Maple mustard chicken – yummo but definitely NOT a FD dinner. sj XXXX

Evening all. Just getting into bed now. Late one for me. You well done genie with your FD. You are going so well. You seem to have managed to get into the swing of things really well. Keep up the good work. Would be interesting I imagine working at the visitors centre. Meet some interesting people I’ll bet.

Thanks for the comments about the hats. The floral one in the picture is made to fit a one year old. I made the Denham one smaller for my little grandchild due in January. My son said I could make anything I.liked for the new little one as long as it was not all PINK. So thought I’d start out with a very non pink cap. The band , lining and flower trim is white broderae anglaise to make it ok for a little girl. That should impress him. Haha..

SJ ..daughters friends little one had this cap on when she came to our tennis day and she left it with me so I could make a pattern from it and try to make some. These first two are my first attempts and now I have finally got the pattern down pat. I could cut you one if you like and explain how to make it when we meet. Your dinner sounds great. Would love the recipe.

CG…would love to have a go at making one for you. I guess I would just have to enlarge the pattern. if you measure your head for the band for me then I could possibly make an adult pattern by increasing the size of everything, would be interesting to give it a go.. You would also need to let me know the colour fabrics you would prefer. I cut up an old pair of jeans that were well worn and soft for the Denham one…maybe that would be OK for you too.
I never throw out jeans that are too big or worn out. The older the better these days as the Denham gets softer and working looking. Great for making kids clothes out of the good bits.

Barb . What a bummer about the iPad. I would be lost without mine. Be interested to see how long it takes to get fixed. Guess you had to send it off to Apple somewhere?

Bert..well done with the fast day. Today you get to have exactly what you want…within reason of course.

I just put my days intake into MFP and way down on calories. Only 980 and for my weight I am supposed to have 1690. Just had my coffee , toasted focaccia, normal dinner and 7 peaches….will probably be up half the night with the peaches. I just could not stop eating them.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ So sweet and Jucy… Will have to do better next non fast day and have a bit more protien.

Time I turned out the light…have a good nights sleep all the Aussies and a good morning to everyone else. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ›ŒπŸ›ŒπŸ›ŒπŸ’€πŸ’€

Finally got my hands on OH’s computer, so will try to catch up properly with everyone. I hate not being up to speed! It’s just gone 5pm here and even though it’s a non FD, I’m making a real effort not to eat between meals – I know this is a big downfall for me so I’m hoping to change this habit and this will speed up my loss with 5:2.
PH – those hats are so adorable and you are one very talented lady!! All the little ones will look so cute and be well protected from the sun. 😎 Brilliant! Delighted to hear you had a good non FD too; it’s a real bonus. Hope you have a wonderful sleep and that your new bed works out well xx
SJ – had to laugh at the vision of you rushing past your OH’s studio every few minutes! Years ago, when I drank very little water, I hardly ever went to the loo – maybe once in the morning and once at night and a friend used to accuse me of wearing incontinence knickers as she reckoned I couldn’t possibly last that long without going. Now I drink lots of fluids and am much more ‘normal’! Your dinner sounds yum! Mmmmm. Best of luck with the three fasts this week xx
Bert – you are doing very well, keep up the good work. It’s amazing the feel-good factor of this wol of life when you see and feel the benefits of it. Good on ya!!
CG – I can just see you rocking one of those hats back in the day….and now!! You would know exactly what to put with it as you are always so stylish looking. Loved the Da Vinci Code too but not his other books so much. I love a good thriller/murder. The Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larson is brilliant. I read the Hundred Year Old Man etc; it was very funny and another of his “the Girl who save the King of Sweden” – not quite as good but enjoyable too. I’m enjoying Harlan Coben at the moment – also thriller writer.
Barb – I have the computer blues too; here’s hoping we both get sorted soon πŸ™‚ Any exercise is an added bonus so no off-setting it against food intake….naughty, naughty!! That way lies disaster!!
Genie – brilliant FD done and dusted!! Must look at the banana pancake recipe; I love bananas but have to limit myself because I’m a bit addicted!
Dawg – you are doing a great job with your GS – it’s not easy. I used to teach a boy with Asperger’s who would one day tell me I was the greatest teacher in the world and the next day, that I was the worst…..I learned to take each with a pinch of salt! Depending on the level of numeracy and literacy of your GS, I might be able to give you the name of some materials and books that will help. Maybe his school could advise what would suit him best and you could use the same when he comes to stay with you?
Jade – hoping the earring shows up. How did your lecture go?
Big hi to Up, GG, Gyps, Milena and anyone else my memory has failed me on! Have a great mid-week and keep all CG’s words of wisdom in mind. WE CAN DO THIS! BRING IT ON! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Good morning team, evening others πŸ˜ƒ just up from an awful night, about 3.5hrs sleep, just restless, then Rocky woke me growling at something! Buggar, so after the pool today, I think I will be spending quite a few hours on the couch asleep. 41 average for our state today so another stinker……late change expected, but it’s all so draining. My daughter and grand daughter are coming tomorrow for a couple of days, hoping for a picinic at Wilsons Promitory Friday, so no more fasting after today for me. Oh well, might fit in three next week, but not bothered, still grateful where I am, and human nature always wants more, so if it’s meant to happen ….it will πŸ˜ƒ 5:2 is part of my life, yes a big part, but not all of it, life goes on and is to be lived so not being a diet, managing only two fasts a week makes it so very doable πŸ˜‰
Stay safe if affected by the heat, plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and seek shade where possible in fact stay home unless it’s necessary to go out in it.
Okay, into my morning “wake up” coffee, and might try hot chocolate before bed tonight instead of coffee, see if I get a better nights sleep, although it hasn’t helped in the past. Happy fasting if doing one team YOU CAN DO IT, but even just portion control is enough to keep you on track and wise choices with your meals πŸ˜‰
” We are sometimes taken into troubled waters
    Not to be drowned
    But to be cleansed”

Think positive team, nothing is impossible, when push comes to shove, we ARE all stronger than we think, we are AUSSIE DETERMINATION no matter what the situation…..right?πŸ˜‰ πŸ’ xxxxxxxxx

PH enjoy de pool too and have a gd day πŸ™‚

Hi all, I’ve had such fun reading all the posts this morning. My fd yesterday was very successful. I tried some miso soup for the first time for supper as we have our main meal at lunchtime, and it was OK. I had it with some savoury crackers. OH had fruit and ice cream for dessert and I licked the serving spoon as mine!!! Lots of water to drink as it was hot and humid here, then a lovely cool change came through in the late afternoon and lasted all night so I slept well. Next fd on Friday and weighing in on Saturday. Feeling good. This time I WILL reach my goal weight and stay there!

CG even on little sleep you are an inspiration – indeed, life is to be enjoyed – hope your nana nap helps. I can just picture you in one of PH’s caps, and PH I’ll join the chorus of “how beautiful” because they are really so adorable, thanks for posting the photos.

No speeding tickets for me today, ha, and the lecture went well, thanks Fit! So glad to have that done. I was lucky some experts were in attendance to handle the tougher questions. You know, it’s nice to have reached the point where I can be content without knowing everything, even if I’m the one at the front of the room. Sometimes it takes work, but I like being older if that’s what it took to be content. Really, no one second guesses us more than our own selves. That’s what I like also about 5:2, we can be wacky and still succeed. Or start another day with another chance.

OK, I guess hunger makes me philosophical – good FD yesterday and so far nothing today, too much adrenaline. And bad night’s sleep, woke at 3:30 and of course the brain was whirring for hours. Need to go back and catch up on everyone’s postings, but wanted to chime in before I keel over. Happy day everyone! xxxx
