  • Good for you Fit re fasting good luck, and the decorations sounds lovely. I have a small tree these days, it sits on a glass coffee table up in the lounge, 4 quite big “Santas” in all modes of clothing and positions and that is about it. They all get boxed up again, hidden away till next year. The big tree hasn’t been out for years. I put a few baubles on my little tree with tinsel and it looks very pretty. With the gk’s grown, and xmas at my daughters these days, I found it all unnecessary extra work…..especially when it was just me who saw it. The tree lights were very pretty, but even them I don’t bother with now. Getting lazy I guess. Plus it was such a chore pulling it all down, my back just hated it!
I wasn’t up as early as usual, about 8:20 this morning, quite a sleep in, but lovely sleep on a cooler night πŸ˜ƒ
I’d love to be over your O/H shoulder when setting his crosswords, just to see it done. I have spent a fortune on books etc over the years, and yes, you do get in the head of the setter, if using their crosswords most of the time πŸ˜ƒ It’s usually easier.
    Sweet dreams xxxx

4 pages to go team, c’mon, we can do it!!πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜€ xxx

You have the right idea about the tree CG – when it’s only for yourself, why add to your workload? If we weren’t hosting the family every year, I would probably do alot less too. When my two girls have left home for good, I’m sure there will be fewer decorations around here. I added some extras upstairs this year too because my BIL and his wife are staying overnight – we don’t usually have anyone staying over. So glad you had a good sleep in cooler conditions. Have a wonderful week, everyone, and let’s get to 200 pages by Friday!!

Morning all and thanks everyone for your hugs and thoughts. And Fit for your lovely email…so special to get an email from Ireland! Feeling better now & as Fit suggested have boxed up my D & family & put them away for now. Lots to keep me busy this week and focusing on our exciting home exchange. Also have a heavenly massage booked this morning!!! Yumm.

Well into another FD to keep us all on the straight & narrow….if we can. About to have my morning coffee and then get busy. Sausage casserole ready for dinner and maybe a miso soup in between. Should be easygoings. Suejen xxxx
Have a ggood FD all if fasting and if not enjoy your family or your socialising….whatever the day brings.

Thatta girl, SJ!! Enjoy your massage – sounds wonderful and just what the doctor ordered!! πŸ™‚

Damnation and bugger but it’s happened again. My post has wooshd off into the unknown.
Thanks team for the reality check. Of course I’m not as young as I used to be ( what a stupid phrase) and my metabolism not turbo charged anymore. I’m going to knuckle down after the silly season and aim to shed another 5 kilos.
The talk about Pavs and. Toblerone are enough to get the gastric juices running. Yum.
I enjoy Sudoko too and it’s not necessary to be good at maths as its about logic.
SJ I hope you are feeling better.
CG lucky you getting some rain. We had a bit of drizzle with the cool change but no rain. At least it’s a lot cooler and I slept like a babe last night. Aided by a glass or two if red wine.
I’ve just come in from pottering around the garden. I was watering some plants near a large shrub. I happened to look down and there a foot or so away was an enormous blue tongued lizard. I nearly wet myself with fright as I thought it as a snake. I then spotted it’s legs. Fit. As blue tongue is a large lizard but looks very much like a snake but has legs. They can grow quite large and not my favourite beastie to have in the garden.
I’ll be back later wiht some more Mensa words.
    xx Doggy

Dawg – I reckon I’d really wet myself if I saw a lizard like that!! Great that you had such a good night’s sleep xx

Your garden must be healthy Doggy to invite such “friendly” Aussies in ☺️ They wont hurt you, they look frightening but are safe, just watch Peppar around it!
Well back from the VERY last of my shopping, found parks easy enough (thanks to my Mum watching over me as usual, she never fails to get me a park) πŸ˜‡ so just lots of stocking fillers, not just the kids but MY kids too, you never grow out of lollies and chockies πŸ˜‹ a bit of tidying up then into the short breads and brandy butter….mmmm, no promise of not taste testing, it’s all too yummmmm and only once a year.
Only had my morning coffee so far and too busy to feel hungry, even with the week end over indulgences, still only 74.5k today, so the odd treat really doesn’t hurt. πŸ™„ well, it hasn’t shown yet!
Think positive sj, we love you for who you are, and if others choose to stay away, it’s their loss.
Happy day team, keep the posts up and running, we CAN make 200 pages, we are AUSSIE DETERMINATION AND WE CAN DO IT 😍 xxxxxxx

Hi all. Felt a bit off in the tummy so had 2 eggs for breakfast. Will see where the day takes me fast wise from here. Not hungry so far so it may be salvageable. Can’t do one Tomorrow as Daughter arrives so will need to celebrate. I will then take notice of my body and have one when I need one. Excitement mounting as you say Fit..πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Just realised I had another page of posts to read.
SJ. So pleased you are feeling better. Enjoy your massage and try to focus on your family O.S this Christmas. Have a long lovely Skype with them..enjoy your massage πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Like CG says Doggy you garden must be healthy to have a blue tongue lizard residing there. They just give you a bit of a start sometimes. We have a resident one in our vegie garden area and we have noticed one residing in the shed in my daughters empty house. They are supposed to be good luck also.

Gyps we need one of your long posts to help us get to the 200 pages by Christmas. I have just realised I almost made my 5kg before Christmas challenge I made with me, myself and I ..just one Kg short. Will have to weigh tomorrow morning and see how I’m going.

Boy is it a hot one here today. 🌞🌞🌞Air con running and hoping for a cool breeze this afternoon.
Off to the lady who plucks my eyebrows and waxes my lip to make me look less hairy for xmas. Hair cut on Christmas Eve..

Continue to enjoy your day fellow ADers..

Sorry, Fit, it does get confusing on here sometimes doesn’t it? So many posts!

Well it is hot here though with a breeze which helps. Got the baking out of the way though before it got too hot and the oven has just had a makeover. I was able to clean between the glass doors while the man was here. It had been driving me mad for YEARS! Took 2 minutes to clean! Unfortunately, the rest of the oven needs a much harder clean but that will wait until after xmas now as it will be getting a workout on Friday.

    Well done, PH.

Evening ADER’S…Saturday’s Christmas lunch was a success! 12 people with entertaining conversation, food to last days and perfect weather a sunny day with a beautiful cool breeze that kept everyone’s enjoyment of the day high . My guests did not leave until 8.30pm… we stated at 1230pm…..It was a very long lunch.
    Spent yesterday cleaning up.
FD today went well and was so welcoming to do.
SJ- so glad you are feeling better.
UP_ Oh cleaned all our windows the week before …. which was a great help as we have a salt build up ,as you do when you live on the water. And I have a great cleaning way for your oven that I will post later.
CG – we have a frog living outside in our garden . He/she loves to gloriously do the crocking thing very often and at all hours day and night.
PH- hope your tum has settled and you enjoy your day of pampering for Christmas.
FIT – thank your for the “TEN COMMANDMENTS”. Your decorations sound superb and lovely.
GYPS- hope all is going well for you and the leprechaurn.Look forward to hearing from you with a long entertaining Chrissy post.
    DAWG-loving the words of “MENSA”
How are you all going with your Christmas cooking? I am sure that you are all organised with only the last minute things to add to your fare and pressie goods.
OH and I are planning to have a Christmas picnic lunch out on one of the islands on Wallis lake (weather permitting)then Christmas dinner will be next store with our neighbours. Thank the stars not too far to stumble home after to much cheer!
Have 3 more days to work before I can really put the breaks on and enjoy somne of the holidays. The tourists have already starting to arrive in our coastal paradise which means any shopping is done at 6-7am, as do the walks and swimming at the beach. I hope Santa will bring me a new pool as my last one has a hole in it. I use a child”s pool so OH and I sit at each end to cool off. The canal is not the ideal place to swim…. it was told on the weekend that the occassional shark finds it way into our waterway.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow team.YOU ARE AUSSIE DETERMINATION….DOING IT WELL !….GO GAL xxxxxxxx

GG your lunch sounds fabπŸ˜ƒ it’s a compliment when guests stay so long. I know what you mean with the frog. As you know I have a huge fish pond and the frogs love it, they breed like the are the last on the planet! When Leah stays she always closes her window, which over looks the garden and pond, because she can’t sleep with the noise. That is a city girl. I keep telling her it’s the sound of the country 😊 my fast has been hit and miss due to too much tasting! Oh well, doesn’t happen often. Say hi to o/h and enjoy your night πŸ˜‰ xxxxxxx

GG It sounds as though your Xmas lunch was a roaring success. Well done you. Sssssharks in the waterway! That is so much worse than my blue tongue.
Re the Xmas tree and decorations. Ive one of those totally artificial ones, no doubt made in China. Every year I bring it out of its box, unfold the branches and reassemble it. Then add all the tinsel and other bits n bobs. It’s labour intensive but do it for the youngsters. This year Kim and the GK did it. It looks lovely. My ideal plan would be to leave all the decorations on it,cover it with a dust sheet and hoist the whole kit and caboodle up into the loft, ready for next year. Unfortunately we don’t have a loft though!
Pepper is loving having the kids about. They sure manage to tire him out.
Iv more grocery shopping to do tomorrow. Sigh. We are having neighbours round for a BBQ.
OK I’ve tried to fill up more of the page so we can reach the double ton by Friday. I can remember when we were cheering our first century.
Cheers all an good night or good morning Fit. Is Milena still about?
    Doggy.
    πŸ©πŸ‹πŸŠπŸΏπŸ’€πŸ πŸ‹πŸ¦‚πŸŸπŸŠπŸ¦€πŸ¬πŸ³πŸŒŠπŸΎ

    Hi All!
Great to see so many posts….keep them coming! I know we’re all busy but it’s lovely to hear how everyone is celebrating in different ways.
CG – love the ideas of your mum finding you a parking space….still looking out for you, her baby!! πŸ™‚ How wonderful to have the shopping done and getting the last of the baking done…very efficient!
Dawg – now I’m wetting myself laughing!! Loving the words and can’t wait to tell OH; I’ll also have lots of laughs to share with everyone on Christmas day…thank you so much!! πŸ˜†
PH – sorry you’re not feeling so well, probably the heat has something to do with it as well. Stay well hydrated and hopefully it will pass soon. Take care xxxx
UP – no apology necessary…we’re doing well to know who we are ourselves with all that’s going on at the moment! πŸ˜‰ My oven has a self-cleaning function which I’m going to do today in preparation for the turkey! Just have to clean the shelves myself…but they’re not too bad.
GG – sounds like your ‘lunch’ was an outstanding success!! Your Christmas day plans sound wonderful…have a terrific time and a well-deserved rest! πŸ™‚
Well, I was going to try and clean some windows today but we’re back to lashing rain, almost gale-force winds and cold – brrrrrr!! So I’ll just get on with some of the other chores and hope it’s almost dark on Christmas day by the time the visitors arrive and then they won’t notice the windows!!
Big hi to SJ, Milena, Gyps, Lotus, GL, Noots, Katy and anyone else my addled brain has left out!! Best of luck for the week ahead whatever you get up to!! πŸ˜‰

Hi Fit, out of curiosity, how does a self cleaning oven work? I hate the job but have the convection type bowl thingy as well now and use it so often. I rarely use my big oven, but did today with a few batches of shortbread, oh are they yummmm. So much for fasting! Xxxx

Fit and Up. The toblerone cheesecake was a success and worth the wait. My daughter has coeliac disease and toblerone is one of the few chocolates she can eat. I made the base with gluten free biscuits and we all enjoyed it. Daughter and son in law are heading up the coast for Christmas so I will send the remainder with them so that I am not tempted. We are fasting again Wednesday and then unfortunately not again until Sunday.

We are having a relatively quiet Christmas this year. All our kids are interstate and as we have had a pretty intense year with renovating a house we purchased (it was supposed to be a bathroom reno but turned into a MAJOR total house reno due to finding asbestos and white ants) and a health scare for my husband, we are looking forward to a quiet day with my Mum, sister and brother in law.

Love love love those Mensa words – I had tears pouring down my face with the alternate word meanings, especially the “flatulance”. My mum will love those.

Thank you to you all again for the welcome. I am having trouble keeping up with the responses but I value every one of them.

Hi CG – the oven has a function called pyroclean where it heats to a very high heat (500 degrees) for between one and two hours depending on how dirty it is. The dirt is basically burned off and turned into very fine ash which you just wipe off with a cloth when the programme is over….amazing!! The make of oven is De Dietrich.
Katy – how clever you are to make such a yummy dessert for your daughter, good on ya! And very wise to send the leftovers home with the visitors……I can see you being very successful with this way of life!! πŸ™‚

Hi Fit, your possibly out and about. It’s only 3:45am here and I’m wide awake, typical fasting night, so just made a coffee and watching a doco on Cleopatra and Egypt, my one big love and interest. 😏 Rediculous being up this early and no doubt will crash early today needing a nanny nap! I’ve decided to start doing my xmas wrapping. Every day is getting away from me, and I sorted things yesterday, to know who got what, so it’s ready to wrap ☺️ What a great idea your oven is. I hate using the cleaners, oven cleaners are so caustic, and swear every time I use my “clean” oven I will wipe it out, ho ho, it never happens.
Changing stations, don’t like the girl doing this doco, and that spoils it, she’s English but has an annoying voice.
So into some wrapping, nhope your enjoying your day. Stay warm my love, you don’t want a cold this time of year….xxxxxx

Hi all, especially Fit for thinking of me!

How are you CG, hope you are recovering.

Chasing my tail – as usual this time of year as we sell jewellery, THE most difficult year but the mortgage will be paid for a month or two, always a bonus in this house!!!

Managed to trim the tree and OH has put up the outside lights – we are the only ones with twinkling lights – I think that means we are rather tacky but I do love lights among the trees, makes me smile to see them lit up – even my windows are lit up – a bit sad really though, we have lived here for twenty odd years, my boy is grown up and so are quite a few of the youngsters here, but out of the 15 houses in our cul-de-sac, there are 6 with youngster still – some don’t even have decorations up.

Weather is soooo warm, we are having 14 degree nights and 16 in the day – thats between 57 and 60 degrees fahrenheit! Often colder than that in July in Scotland.

Hope you are all well, have a wee dram of your hooch on me Gyp – back to the grindstone!

    milena x

Milena lovely to hear from you. Nothing tacky about the joy of Christmas lights. I don’t think we ever grow out of the magic of the season, so why not enjoy it for yourself. I’m up because I woke and couldn’t get back to sleep. Then a song came to mind and I can’t get the damn thing out of my head….”HERE COMES SANTA CLAUSE, HERE COMES SANTA CLAUSE……..driving me mad, so wrapping xmas gifts and watching a movie on Foxtel! Nice that you are having good weather, but it’s a worry how our climates are changing. Stay in touch πŸ˜€ xxxxxxx

Hi CG – I wasn’t out just getting through some more chores….I have caught up with my list at last, so I’m back on track!! Then I went to the airport to collect my younger daughter who had gone back to the UK for a few days to meet her boyfriend who was coming home from 3 months abroad. Now she is home until the 5th Jan….yippee!! Hope you fell back to sleep or at least, get a good nanny nap today.
Milena!!! – yeay!! You’re back! πŸ™‚ I’m sure it is your busiest time of the year so not surprising that you weren’t able to post. I love all the lights and seeing houses brightly decorated. However, OH and I are not at all handy so we have no outside lights. But we do have two real Christmas trees indoors and lots of other lights….will that do? Weather has been wild and windy again here, not as mild as with you but way above normal Dec temps. Definitely strange for this time of year.

Hi Fit, still up wrapping things, really enjoy the spirit of giving. I’m onto my third movie and second cappicino πŸ˜ƒ, I usually wrap on xmas eve in front of the carols on telly with a few wines, but it’s a bit early 😏 so coffee will do. Definitely a nanny nap today! How wonderful to have your daughter home πŸ˜ƒ it’s the perfect family time of year xxxx

Gosh, CG, you will be tired later. I love wrapping the presents too and looking forward to seeing the faces of my loved ones when they open them. It is a real joy to give. Every Christmas eve, even now, when all the visitors have left and my two girls have gone to bed, I fill up their stockings with all the smaller treats I have got for them. I can’t wait for them to find them all on Christmas day, as these are surprises – the girls usually know what they will get for their main present. I think it’s my favourite part of the day.

Yes totally agree, his year I bought suede stockings and have filled 4 two for my gk’s and two for MY kid’s ☺️ no matter the age, we all love surprises and as usual, have gone over board again! Oh well, they are my family and I love to spoil them xxxx

Lovely to hear about everyone’s Christmas decorations, nice to hear from you Milena. What sort of jewellery do you make? Well my fast day was a disaster. I just wanted to nibble from my last post onwards , still have slightly upset tummy so think I will try for Wednesday.

The day has finally came. My Daughter arrives today..home for good.πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ˜ She will stay with us for a few days until we unpack her furniture from the container she had it transported home in. Luckily will have some strong young men coming for Christmas that will help with the heavy stuff. It will be so good to have her just 20 minutes away from us. I am so looking forward to 2016. Had Skype with grandson in Canada yesterday ..he had to have the computer sitting in the bedroom and mum and dad were not allowed in so that he could show us what he did for them while he was wrapping it up to go under Christmas tree. Mostly drawings and funny little things that he made..it was so cute as most 4 year olds are. Little ones get such a kick out of Christmas. He has asked Santa for a big big packet of pop corn..and a skateboard..my son bought a second hand skateboard for $10 dollars as he is too young from them yet…He does not think so..

Well off to the hydro pool and then last minute tidying up before going to meet the plane.

    Have a great day all..

PH what a thrill for you, enjoy the pool, I can’t start back till next year, actually next week…..same thing! Frightening isn’t it? 😟 xxxxxx

Hi all, lovely to read all the bits of good news from people!

I feel a lot better about xmas as one present that I was angsting about resolved itself a few minutes ago and the recipient is buying it himself as I write and bringing it home on the plane with him! And yesterday I ordered all my xmas food online to be delivered tomorrow morning from Woollies. My daughter who is moving on to better things, still has her fruit shop job this week so I will put her in charge of that side.

So today, I have to clean out the fridge, hopefully not by eating my way through it, and brave the shops for the final present shop I hope. The dog is going for a xmas groom and hopefully all is right with the world.

    Have a good day all!

PH – so thrilled that your daughter will be moving back so close to you….it will be wonderful for you both. Enjoy every minute of all the excitement and happy times to come. Xxxxx

Up – sounds like you have everything in hand…I’m sure it will all be brilliant! πŸ™‚

Isn’t it wonderful how everything revolves around one day, and a day we have had 12 months to plan for? It’s basically lunch with our families and of course the pressies, exciting isn’t it! Just finished wrapping the last of the gifts, the shortbread I made yesterday, I really don’t think I could have done it all Christmas Eve, with a few vino’s thrown in 😜 so my little tree is looking lovely now with pressies under it πŸ™‚πŸŽ„ xxx

I’m sure for some people who are lonely, it can seem like the longest day of the year. But I love it all – from Christmas eve to St. Stephen’s day. This year we have been invited to friends for Stephen’s day and they will spoil us rotten. They have two daughters as well, who are great friends with our girls, so we will have a fab time….can’t wait!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

So true, Fit. My daughter also is a Lifeline counsellor. She is now so busy but had to do a shift yesterday because she said it is such a busy time of year for them. Counsellors are trained and accredited but voluntary. We are thinking of asking some extras this year who are on their own. Only thought of it last night.

    Anyway, back to xmas cheer!

You have raised a wonderful daughter, Up and it’s clear that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree! Xxxxx

Hi Gael from Sydney – anyone else fantastic on fast days and eating too much on 5 days? That’s me – determined to cut down and not ‘over feast!’ As I’m just not loosing πŸ™

Well done gaelichik in comng back to the fold. As you found 5:2 is so very doable but support is needed and here at AUSSIE DETERMINATION you get heaps of it πŸ˜ƒ Are you planning a lot of festive activities over Xmas? Just wondering why you would choose THIS week to start back? Your welcome to become part of our friendly team either way or wait till after xmas. But….there is no time like the present! Welcome aboard…CG…πŸ˜‰ xxxx

Hi gaelichick and welcome. Yes I agree with CG this is not a good time of the year to be starting the 5:2. I’m totally taking a break over their silly season. Plan to start again after the 9th Jan when the family go back home. After reading quite a lot of different posts it seems as though there may be some benefit in doing the occasional non fast week. It’s supposed to reboot the metabolism, some say. I’m also considering starting with the Atakins diet for a few weeks. That consists of counting carbohydrates and allowing only 20 gms carbs a day. It is doable but hard to keep up with as its so restrictive. I will defiantly revert to the 5:2.
For those of you who have enjoyed the MENSA , here are the last few I have :-

Testicle A humerous question in a exam

Rectitude. The formal, dignified bearing adopted by a proctologist.

    Pokemon A Rastafarian proctologist.

Oyster. A person who sprinkles his conversation with Yiddishisms.

Frisbitarianism A belief that after death the soul flies up to the roof and gets stuck there.

Circumvent. An opening in the front of boxer shorts worn by Jewish men.

    That’s all folks. !

Well done Doggy πŸ˜€ I agree about missing a couple of fasts rarely makes much difference, a lot of out team have found that when holidaying BUT I think most of us are to paranoid to intentionally sabotage a years hard work! Sure we have the odd “no-no” and have learnt to control our guilt, like me with the shortbread, this year I actually made myself a batch as well, usually only do the family and wonder why, but even they are all flour and butter 😟 but an annual treat so I enjoy being naughty with them. I know I will try to keep the portions down with them and try not to over indulge them with my coffee and know my fasts will hopefully keep me on an even keel. I missed quite a few fasts with this years health issues and it really didn’t make much difference to my base weight in the long-run. So, advise, go with what suits you, enjoy the treats, the festivity the wines etc, but try to slip a fast in when you can. I bet you find Doggy with the heat, even having family staying, you will be living on salads anyway ☺️ so all low cal. The extra pav or cheesecake could be a problem as are the chockies 😳 And Carbs are the big problem to us all, they are in everything grrrr.
We have earned to right to enjoy it all, that’s the beauty of our 5:2, it IS forgiving and it works. That’s why we don’t sweat the small stuff team…right??? ….πŸ˜‰ xxxxxx

Gael, I have started 5:2 this week but I am trying not to get too hung up on it. I am fitting my fast days in around whatever is happening but not expecting too much in the way of weight loss. I just really wanted to get started.

Dogsabie, those Mensa words make me laugh until I cry. I will go through the posts and try to copy them down as I know my Mum and sister will absolutely love them.

Fit, excuse my ignorance but what (and when) is St Stephens day?

I absolutely love everything about Christmas but this year, due to a variety of circumstances it is a fairly low key affair at our place. I have however given my darling long suffering husband a “heads up” that next year it will be HUGE. I plan to decorate the new house within an inch of it’s life and cook up a storm. He says I should put that in is diary because he will have forgotten that I warned him. Hopefully, if the 5:2 lives up to it’s promise, his memory will have improved dramatically by next Christmas.

Katylee I’m glad you’ve enjoyed those words from the oh so super intelligent members of Mensa. Sadly I’m not one of them. I don’t know if you have an iPad. If so you can take a photo of the screen and it will appear in your photos via iCloud. I use it quite often.
OK must be off as we have folks coming round for a barbie and drinks.
    🍸🍷🍻🍺🌯🍲🍽🍴🍬

Afternoon all bit late today. Doggie love those mensa definitions. Will have to go back & collect them all for my OH…he would love them. Had to go shopping for OH this morning as he eventually said that he had NO IDEA what to buy him & I didn’t either really. So he now has under the tree a very eclectic collection of little things that he’s mentioned over the years or that we would both enjoy using. Then had an eyebrow wax & tint & home again. Now have fridge to clean out & a few other things plus cookie boxes to deliver to neighbours/friends hopefully this evening if it cools down a bit.

Katylee welcome & good on you for starting at such a hard time of year. Yes if your expectations aren’t too high you’ll still do well. You’re like us this year as due to circumstances we also have a very low-key affair for Christmas. Takes a bit of
getting used to I must admit.
CG you’re so right at this time of year…don’t sweat the small stuff. And I’ve done as you suggested…got a piece of wrapping paper, screwed it up & tossed it in the bin & put my negative D away for now. She’s not going to spoil my Christmas.
Welcome to GC also…you can follow KL’s example & start but not expect too much at this time of year.
Fit I also don’t know when St Stephens day is?
Up you and I are cleaning out fridges & I’ve done the alst Christmas shopping also this morning. Was not too bad but of course we’re only in a small town.
PH you’ll be THRILLED that your D is arriving for good. How wonderful!! And you’ve done soo much work for the they’ll be thrilled with you. Enjoy!!!!! How lovely to have a skype behind closed doors with just your grandson! Very special!!

SJ. You are about to embark on a lovely new adventure with the house swap. 🏠🏠 It will be exciting to do something different. I’m guessing that you get to the other house on Christmas night? It will be a difficult Christmas for you this year but you have your lovely OH and family OS. Will you get to Skype them on Christmas Day?. Love the idea wrapping paper in the bin. Sending you [[[[hugs]]]]]

Up. Your daughter must me a wonderful person. Such a great thing to do. I take my hat off to her.

CG . Hope you enjoyed the pampering…you must be just about fully organised now and able to put your feel up for a bit. Remember…you are still recouperating. πŸŽπŸ‘πŸ’ really enjoying the lovely fruit at the moment as I am sure you are.

Well daughter arrived home safely. And her container arrived at the same time so went from the airport straight to her house to be there when it was unloaded. Had to out it on the verge between the footpath and the road as the overhead wires were too low to put it in her front yard. Have to hope that all the council workers are on holidays and there is no-one to follow up any complaints that may be made. We will have to get it unloaded and picked up a bit sooner. She did not sleep at all last night as left Bali at midnight so had an early night and is all tucked up in bed. I’m off to the land of Nod also as have had a full day πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

Welcome Gchick from Sydney. Looking forward to hearing more about you and how you go with 5.2

    Hi All!
That’s what I love about us being from different sides of the globe, Katy and SJ…..I’m learning lots of new words and phrases (not to mention creatures!) from all you Aussie gals and I can tell you that St. Stephen’s day is the day after Christmas day. We don’t call it Boxing day here. Stephen is said to be the first Christian martyr, so he was given the honour of the first feast day after the birth of Jesus. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a religious nut, that’s just the history of how the day came to be called that.
Gaelichick – delighted to have you on board!! It’s great that you have decided to jump in now, even at this mad time of the year! Katy has just started too, so you are in good company! Any effort you make has to be a good thing, but don’t be too hard on yourself. A new routine will be easier once the silly season is over. I also found I was overdoing it on non fast days but my appetite is slowly changing and I am making better and healthier choices. Looking forward to getting to know you. πŸ™‚
Dawg – my OH and I are in tears of laughter at those hilarious definitions!! I have great fun telling him the words and getting him to guess the meaning….brilliant fun. Hope you have a wonderful time with your family.
Katy – enjoy your quiet Christmas this year and then you can let rip next year and see which style suits you best!! πŸ™‚
CG – yes, choccies and pavlova will my challenges too; not to mention the peach schnapps! I won’t be sweating the small stuff….it’s the big stuff I’m worried about i.e. the big numbers on the scales!!! 😳 Never mind, it’s good to have the need to get right back on the horse in the new year…no excuses!! It will still be better than this time last year; so it’s a win/win situation πŸ™‚
SJ – OH and I get each other something small or silly to open on Christmas morning but usually do something together as our main present e.g. go away for a weekend or a show and meal etc. This year we’re getting a new sound system so that we can use technology to enjoy our music properly. Have to get cracking on cleaning out my fridge too….there’s always another job to add to the list!! Have a terrific time on the house swap πŸ™‚
GG – loving all the emoticons…..you seem to be having great fun with the new ipad. Yes, the toblerone cheesecake would be very dangerous for me to have around….maybe it’s better if I don’t know how to make it!!
Ok, gotta go collect clothes from the cleaners and look for tall thin candles for my centrepiece…..hard to find as they all seem to be the small chunky ones. Then getting my nails done, but it could be a waste of time as they are nearly all broken after days of housework even though I wear rubber gloves all the time πŸ™ Then hoping to get some windows cleaned with my new gadget, if it doesn’t work, the windows can stay dirty because I’m not ruining my manicure!!

What more can I say? Hope you’re all having a good lead up to Christmas, mates. Am flat to the boards. But I’ll be back! Thanks for the email CG, had a good laugh. Good one! Have a cyclone brewing in the gulf. Hohum. Hope it doesn’t blow Santa off line! xxx Gyps PS It’s my Sil whose the brave passenger.
