  • Gosh, CG – what time are you up and about? If I keep going to bed late and you keep getting up early, we’ll meet in the middle!! πŸ˜‰ Bummer about the hairdryer, but you’re right that it’s better this week than next. Well, I got none of my jobs done today. My sister and I took our other sister to buy her some new clothes for Christmas – it took quite alot of time, as she is very slow getting dressed and undressed. Then we drove her back to her apartment only to discover we had left the new purchases behind! So, we had to turn around and go back for them! Oh well, as Scarlet O’Hara would say: “Tomorrow is another day”!!

Woohoo!!! Another page! Come on gals, let’s make it 200 pages by Christmas!!

So pleased. The big loss I had last week has stayed off. Exactly the same this week so it looks like the 98.1 was correct and not just my scales going haywire. Won’t be long and I’ll be in the 97,s. Woohoo!..if I can fit a couple of fasts in over the Christmas period well and good. If not then there is always next year. I’m really happy with My loss since September when I started thanks to all you lovely Aussie Determination gals.

CG. Know what you mean with no mobile coverage. We had that on the farm before we move here. It is a bummer. Telstra ended up putting an antenna on our roof but you had to plug your mobile in to get reception so really defeated the “mobile” function.
Fit..did not wake last night. Slept right through for the first time in ages. You and your sister are amazing with your other sister. She is one very lucky lady. Would love to get to Ireland some day to meet all of you..never say never…

Best get on with my day. Things to do..places to go. Have a great day everyone. Catch you later..πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

I am still managing to keep the weight coming off now down to 62.1 kgs. I am still in the overweight range and new objective is to get my waist down to a safe level.

The weather is horrible. Already at 9am the temp was 38 degrees. Feels like a furnace. The dust is picking up and the trees are bent over with the strong winds. There is a film of dust over everything. Just a case of staying inside and keeping an eye out for any smoke. I can use this weather to catch up on my reading. There is a silver lining in this weather. The rest of the week looks just a bad.

GL lovely to hear from you, your not only an intermittent fast but an intermittent poster too. The weather is the same here, 40 expected locally according to local radio, but as we know it gets a lot hotter. I’m watering at the moment, town water fortunately but the pressure is S…ful! I’m conserving mine, it’s beautiful to drink and my pump pressure is fantastic 😌 been shopping, had to wait for Target to open at 8:00am, poor kids, they hate being up that early, but it’s pocket money, right? Got a dryer then went to Aldi, waited again for 8:30 opening, grabbed some fruit and veg then home to the boys. Aircon on already! We have a long day ahead, tomorrow is predicted to be the same with a late thunder storm..mmmmmm, more worries! Oh well Summer in Australia for us country people is never different. I’m on the back deck, no glasses on, only my sunnies so pls forgive typos as I’m struggling to see my ipad screen. Stay cool team and enjoy the day….good day for a few drink aye? …😌 xxxxx

PH well done, your personal pride must be bursting, and GL you are such a stayer πŸ˜„ xxxx

Hi all. I’m still popping in to see how you are all doing. I’m not having fast days but it’s so darn hot that I’m not really eating all that much. Probably some extra carbs in the way of bread rolls but mostly meat and salad. Oh yea and the odd glass or two of vino.
It’s fun having the family here and they’ve already had some lovely swims. Unfortunately our son and his family are not able to join us at this time. Hopefully in the new year sometime.
It’s good to see you all keeping up the good work.
Must be off to go and get some lunch for these hungry hoards.

    Thanks, Fit!

Hi team, love the words Doggy, surprised you found time to post so very appreciated. Huge fire down here, about 40min by car but with this wind??? Big smoke funnel visible from here, those poor people, but the poor animals. No idea how it started. Stinking hot day, awful hot winds, just dangerous. Heading down to feed Lexie now, hope she had sense to stay in the shade which is on offer…..be safe team, stay hydrated 🍸🍻 team xxxxxxxx

    Hi there.

Just joined the forum. I am from Country Victoria down on the Gippsland Lakes.

I am one fast day down and feeling positive – I look forward to being able to talk to other Aussies to keep me motivated.

Very hot here also but looks like a storm is brewing. I have been hearing on the news about fires across Victoria so I hope you are all safe.

Welcome Katylee it’s good to have you aboard. I think CG is not too far from you. Oh I’m sorry to read about the fires burning in Victoria. CG I hope it keeps away from you and yours. We are due for a high fire danger day tomorrow. Temp in high 30’s and strong winds. We have a total fire ban in place. Unfortunately it still is no guarantee that some idiot will not do something stupid.
    Stay safe team.
    XX Doggy

Doggy would you believe one of the big fires today was deliberately lit, they got the guy, some 35 year old, sheds and stock losses, unsure of homes. Throw the book at the B#%>£€Β₯….hope your having fun with the family, it’s tiring but a joy ☺️ are you watching the cricket? Love 20/20 Doggy, only know some of the players but good to watch 😊 I miss the usual commentators from ch;9 though.
Katylee welcome aboard, 5:2 is so very doable but what a strange time to start, a week before xmas, you must be one strong lady. I’m in South Gippsland, we just had a lovely shower with lots of thunder, but a very steamy night coming up. The aircon will be going all night I think…xxxxxx

Thank you for the welcome Countrygal and Dogsabie. Not strong but very determined to get this started. Husband and I are working our fast days around the family gatherings. Tough but doable.

We got a reasonable shower down here but unfortunately now it is just thunder and lightening.

We used to live in South Gippy up until a couple of years ago so I was quite concerned that Wonny was mentioned in regard to the fires.

Katy it did get away from them for some time, I think there was up to 40 units at one time fighting it, so a bit of a worry for them down there. If you and O/H plan your fasts in advance these’s no reason you can’t do them, planning is a big advantage as long as you stick with it plus, with this heat, salads are pretty much the norm for meals 😊….stay with it, it does get easier and becomes part of your life, in fact after a heavy day of carbs you do look forward to a fast…πŸ˜‰ xxx

    Hi All!
Oh CG – my heart was in my mouth when I read about the fires so close to you. I’m so glad you’re safe and that you had some rain at least. How could anyone be so stupid, reckless or downright criminal to set a fire deliberately in such conditions!! Hope things cool down to more comfortable temperatures now xxxx
PH – congrats on keeping the weight off and I have every confidence in you to be in the 97s very soon! It would be really lovely to meet someday, either this side of the world or yours….keeping fingers crossed for 2017!
GL – good to hear from you again. You are doing very well. I hope you stay safe too in those hot, dusty conditions.
Dawg – you are a gem – can’t wait to tell my OH all the new words; they’re a hoot!! Have a great time with your family over Christmas and the new year xxxx
Katy – welcome aboard!! You and OH are terrific to start into this way of life (we don’t call it a diet) before Christmas; if you can do it now, you can do it forever!! Wishing you both the very best of luck and don’t hesitate to ask any questions. Don’t be disheartened if you are not as strict as you would like to be – any effort is better than nothing and when the holiday season is over, you will get into a very doable routine πŸ™‚
    Up – you’re welcome!!
Ok, gals – gotta try and catch up on my list of jobs that have been slipping through my fingers all week. Wish me luck!!!!!

Fit you be gentle with yourself dear friend, you rarely stop, either church or your sister or lessons, plus the renovations you had to clean up after, it seems all go, it’s time you put your feet up and be rested ready for Christmas day 😊 another stinker predicted for tomorrow Fit, but late change predicted again so fingers crossed. Yes, it makes you wonder what makes some people tick doesn’t it. Do they plan it, or just wake up one morning and decide to be so thoughtless? Who knows……. Enjoy your day, I’m watching cricket which finishes in 30 minutes or so then bed, golly the heat drains me…😳xxxxxxx

Thanks CG xx. I’m taking a little break now (it’s mid afternoon) so just seeing your post. Don’t worry about me overdoing things….I told you I’m too lazy for that!! Hope you enjoyed the cricket. Yes, I’d be completely floored by the heat too. I really hope you get back to more reasonable temperatures for Christmas. Hope you slept well and awake refreshed and ready for anything!

Hi all, I’ve been too busy to post for a while and this week is looking no better so I’m taking this opportunity to wish all my fellow 5:2 followers a very happy Christmas and I’ll catch up with you in 2016. Love from Noots48

Good morning team, good evening Fit. Still very hot here, 30 on my deck, but slept well with aircon going all night. The smell of smoke is very strong in the air, we have a slight breeze which seems to be building in strength. Fit if you get a chance, see if you can get the DVD “INSIDE THE FIRESTORM”(done by the ABC and narrated by Hugo Weaving brilliantly) you will understand my concern regarding fires. It is the best doco I have ever seen, regarding the movement of the fire which swept through Victoria in 2009. If you are unable to get a copy over there I will send you one. It certainly show our AUSSIE DETERMINATION and the resilience of Aussies.
Noots, nice you could find the few minutes to post, have a lovely xmas.
Well I’m going down to let Lexie out to graze, then will tackle my fridge today, has anyone else noticed the fridge shrinking this time of year? With all the fruit and salad goods, a ham leg plus the regulars, I’m struggling to find a hole for the milk, and I have the biggest fridge/freezer you can buy!
Have a lovely day team, stay cool (or warm FitπŸ™„) and remember to plan for our possibly last fast tomorrow before xmas. πŸ€—xxxxxxx

Hi all. Nice to hear from you Noots. Wishing you a nice Christmas back. Look forward to catching up in the new year.

CG . Fires are such a worry in the extreme heat, which is very draining, there is always the possibility of sone nutter wanting to destroy things. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯Hope your days get better soon. Lucky you have the cricket and the air conditioning. I really feel for the poor animals on those days but I guess they are able to cope, possibly better than we are.

Fit..hope you are having a good nights sleep.πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€.or watching Late movies at this time. Not,long to go before Santa comes now. Did you say at one stage that your hubby makes up crosswords?

Love the words Doggy. Thanks for taking the time to post. Continue to enjoy your family.

Welcome Katy…congratulations on starting this new way of life, very hard to do at Christmas time however good on you for making the decision. You,will find that the fast days get easier the more you do them so don’t be worried in the beginning that they are hard. Please ask as many questions as you like and dont feel that there are any stupid ones. We have all been there. This forum is a fantastic support group.

Hi to Gyps, GG, UP and anyone I have missed.

Had a good day typing up my menus for my family Christmas. Made a spreadsheet with menus for each meal then did a column for shopping lists for Aldi and Coles and what day I needed to do them then did a list of jobs/cooking to be done for each day. Then gathered Recipies and attached them to each daily list. Surely I will not forget anything now. Never been so organised in my life before. Then we had friends around for dinner and over done it with the wine. Great nite…feel like the celebrations have started. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Planning on finishing my memory stories for the family today then I can really sit back and relax.

Golly PH you ARE organised, good for you. Having xmas at my daughters these days really takes the pressure of me now, and she handles it in such a relaxed manner and it’s always beautiful πŸ€— Have a lovely day and hay, enjoy the vino’s, it’s xmas ☺️ this time next week it will be over…..xxxxx

Hi all, have been busy, as no doubt we all are!

as you know, my daughter graduated last week and then in a whirlwind of activity, had to fly to Sydney for a job interview. This required me buying her some suitable shoes and a mad panic to find something to wear. She borrowed from a journalist friend but ended up wearing a tunic of mine! It was a U>S size 6 that I bought earlier in the year (I think I may frame that label!) but being a tunic she was able to pull it off because we are not the same size!

Anyway, something worked, possibly her actual brains and personality because she got the job and is now moving to Sydney in a month. Bittersweet for me, exciting for her. I will finally be an empty nester. There are positives about that but also negatives. And I know about boomerang kids!

Not much to say about 5/2 at this time of year is there?

    PH, impressive!
Noots, merry xmas to you too!

    Welcome Katylee!

Oh Up what a full on exciting time for you. Yes, bitter sweet, but what a joy and proud time for her. It takes time getting used to the empty nest and one thing I found is, when they come home for a visit, it’s always quality time ☺️ be proud and also excited for the new life path ahead for YOU ….For sure, frame that label πŸ€— …..happy day xxxxx

Hi everyone. Had a bad night last night…think I’ve had 4 hours sleep. Just was not tired despite feeling terribly tired! Nana nap for me for sure today.
Playing keyboard for church this morning so hope the foggy brain gets there ok. Might be a few errors! Feeling a little flat today so not much to post.
CG so glad you’re ok. Looked up Google maps last night and found your town…never heard of that one. We visited Wilsons Prom a couple of times when in Vic and as I’ve said my Dad taught at Noojee, so was interested to see where you fitted in there.
Have a lovely day all. Might be getting OH to get lunch ready today…..even he can manage that! Suejen xxxx

Hi Noots! Good to hear from you again, how’s your thumb? Happy Christmas to you and yours!!
CG – I will certainly look for that DVD – I have seen some documentaries and news footage of bush and forest fires….so scary and so easy to get out of control and as you said, the direction of the wind is a huge factor and can be the difference between life and death. I have no doubt that aussie spirit and determination is also a huge factor in the survival of those affected. Stay safe, dear pal xxx
PH – wow, you sure are one organised lady!! I take my hat off to you! Yes, my OH sets crosswords for various papers and magazines. He used to be a teacher like me and set crosswords for a hobby, but gradually the crosswords took over.
UP – big congrats to your daughter on getting a job so quickly – that’s fantastic. What a great girl she is and this is such an exciting time in her life. Wishing her every success!
My sis and I watched the final of Strictly Come Dancing (UK) this evening and polished off a bottle of peach schnapps between us, so I’m a bit tiddly…bettter take myself off to bed!! πŸ˜‰ Goodnight/morning all!!

So many emotions hit us this time of year sj, we rush to get things finished, we shop, we clean, we sew etc, and often hit an anticlimax from exhaustion. This time next week it will all be over and life back to normal. We miss those who are no longer with us, our memories are at a peek, it is always a memory prodder this time of year. I’ sure you will play beautifully and I know the REAL meaning of xmas will hit you πŸ™ƒ
My town is very small, 200 avg spread around on farms and in the village, most people drive past the turnoff to the prom, and never know we exist. We do get a lot of bikies on weekends because of the winding roads they love to ride, then they camp near by. In my younger years, when driving through small towns such as mine, I would think, why the hell would anyone want to live here. You know, I wouldn’t have it any other way. We are a small close knit village and not far from bigger towns for shopping/hospitals/doctors etc ☺️
Cheer up my love, the blues will soon pass, maybe a few vino’s after church or a walk better still, both 😜 we are here tor you, as am I privately .I know what’s ailing you, but please let it ride πŸ™‚ Enjoy your day as best you can…xxxxxxxx

Hi all. Hot as H here too. Had a bad night as we don’t have aircon in the bedrooms. Its not often that hot.
CG those bastards that start fires should be put in jail, for a long time.
Enjoying having the family with us. They are all very active so lots of swimming, running, walking involved. Luckily our daughter and her hubby are both good cooks so it’s never just all left for me to do.
Fit and others I’m glad you are enjoying the word games. Those Mensa folk are so clever.

Foreploy. Any misinterpreting of oneself for the purpose of getting laid.

Girraffiti. Vandalism sprayed very very high

Sarchasm. The gulf between the author of the of the sarcastic wit and the person who does not get it.

Inoculattte. To take coffee intravenously while running late.

    Osteopornosis. A degenerate disease.

Decafalon. The gruelling process of getting through the day by only consuming food that is good for you.

🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧 that is wishful thinking on my part.

Oh SJ, hang in there! My daughter also is a Lifeline counsellor. She is so busy at the moment now but said she absolutely cannot cancel her Lifeline shift tomorrow because Xmas is such a busy time. Family stuff can be so depressing and this time of year brings it all out.

I am assuming it is to do with your daughter.I feel for you. I am not the counsellor so no wise words but thinking of you. I have issues with xmas too but I am lucky to have been able to make peace with my sadness and go with the flow. Of course I am stuck with my anxiety curse but I have also made peace with that.
Cg, You SHOULD be a counsellor. I think you have missed your calling!

I am writing this with champagne in hand (what do you mean it isn’t xmas yet???). I am trying to make room in the freezer so concocting a fish pie despite never having cooked one in my life. Simultaneously, my daughter is cooking our xmas shortbread. Just as we were starting, my son rang to say he needs to take a dessert for a xmas dinner tonight and was coming over to use my facilities. I directed him to some Taste.com no cook recipes. He turns up armed with all the gear to make a pav! And some recipe that requires him to bake apricots and make his own lemon curd. What the?

So there goes the oven! Fit don’t know whether you have ever cooked a pav but it requires a very slow oven, and you have to allow the pav to cool in the oven with the door slightly ajar…… Also he has never made a pav so requires supervision for tips!

    Doggy, love the definitions.

    Cheers all, hicc….

Hi team, just woke from my nanny nap to hear the sounds of gentle rain starting. I opened the family room door, which leads out to the front deck, to be hit with a blast of fresh wind……it acrually felt cold! I checked the temp and it’s 21 😊 yohoooooo, the change has arrived!!! Now all doors are open to let the fresh breeze waft through, and the coffee machine heating up for a latte 😊 mmmmmm, been too hot for a hot drink.
Thank you Up, as long as I can help my family, friends and our team, I’m happy πŸ˜‰ I do empathise easily with others, and hate seeing anyone in personal pain, but have learnt through years of practice not to take on others pain. That is not always easy. Usually my memory serves me well too as to why people react the way they do to things. Up I used to make a lot of pav’s when my children were young as well as lemon merangue pies. I made one last year, after years of not doing so, and could’t work out why it didn’t crisp up. Then realised, I had used a plastic bowl to mix the whites, of course, plastic holds water, so ALWAYS use a glass bowl to mix the whites and it will never fail.
Enjoy them being home, I love it when my two, as adults are together 😊
Well, I’ll drink this coffee then a walk in the fresh air down to feed Lexie…..enjoy the champis Up, no excuses are necessary, to us at least πŸ˜‹ xxxxxx

Hi all. Lots of posts again.

UP. You are having a very busy time of it. I’d say champagne is in order in your household with all the goings on with the cooking.🍾🍾🍾🍾 Sit just outside the kitchen and have your tipples whilst giving your cooking advice to your son. I am no help with tips for pass as I have never cooked one in my life..
Congrats to you daughter in getting her job in Sydney and I remember the empty nest feeling. Not living in a city with a university all of our children had to leave home to go to uni at 18 years of age..and none of them have ever been back to live with us full time. But there have been some times when they are home for a short while between jobs and I just love those times.

CG Soooo please the cool change has arrived for you.🌬🌬🌬 🌧🌧🌧 I agree you have missed your calling and would have made a great counsellor.

SueJen. I am so sorry you are feeling down and am also thinking it has something to do with your daughter. Hang in there my dear and be kind to yourself and OH. Sending you, lots of prayers and {{{πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ}}}. Hopefully playing for church will make you feel better, perhaps our friend up above will send you some extra strength and love.

Fit. What a clever fellow your husband must be. I am in awe of anyone who can do crosswords let alone create them. I can’t spell well and so find them very frustrating but give me anything g to do with numbers and I’m there. Love sudoku.
Hope you enjoyed watching the dancing with your sister and the schnapps. What a great thing to do,

Doggy, did you get the cool change too? 🌬🌬🌬

    Katy…How are you going.

Spending the day today doing my memories for the kids and partners for Christmas. Really enjoying it however taking much more time than I thought. 4 down one to go. Only my daughters to go ..want to make hers extra special…well that’s what you do for daughters who are coming home to live close to you…πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Hi all. Hoorah the cool change has come our way too. We were about to all sit down on the deck for BBQ & it started to drizzle. It’s like manna fro heaven. We just all grabbed our stuff and headed inside.
Team I’m in need of some encouragement. I’ve lost 8 kilos but still feel like a hippopotamus. It’s no doubt getting into the summer gear and there is nowhere to hide the tummy. The rest of me is not so bad but that gut! Mind you I’m telling you my tale of woe while sipping on a chilled Sav Blanc. The rest of the family troop off to the beach for a swim & I’m too selfconsciece to join them as I look a fright in my bathers. I know other overweight people go swimming but I just wouldn’t enjoy it. Maybe next year.!
Up I love crosswords. How clever your hubby is. My favourites are the cryptics. One has to get into the various mindsets of the setter. There are often lots of anagrams. All good brain exercise.
I gave the pooch a bath today. It’s often a hassle to dry him but in that heat he dried off quickly. My granddaughter loves animals and is going to help me give him a thorough grooming tomorrow. He had more than a few knots that need to be got rid of.
Hopefully it will be cooler tonight for a good sleep.
    Cheers Doggy XX

Doggy, 8k is a wonderful loss and we have to keep telling ourselves, we are not in our 20’s anymore, so our body shapes are different. I may be in 12’s/14’s but the belly is still there 😏 but what the hell, you saw me in short shorts, but a lose top. That’s the way I tend to dress. I try to dress for my shape now. You have to learn to love YOU as you are and be proud of your achievements. You exercise with Peppar, when physically able, you have lost 8 fabulous k’s…..so what’s to be embaressed about? Enjoymeny of life is priority for us all, none of us expect to be modeling for Victorias Secret, so why not enjoy how you are now. You are well, healthy, fit for your age, and able to participate in life πŸ˜€….take care dear friend, and stop being so damned hard on yourself (bend over….πŸ‘ž feel it?) xxxxx

P.s I love crosswords too but never been able to get my head around cryptic’s. I play online all the time with Chris ( you may remember she looked after me when I had the back op) and her husband, we have always got a couple of scrabble games on the go πŸ˜€ helps keep the dementia away 😜 xxxxx

    Hi All!
    SJ – our posts crossed last night (for me) and I went straight to bed, so I didn’t see yours! I’m sorry you’re feeling a bit down..it’s so understandable at this time of year. But, you have put all your love into gifts for the GKs and sent them off and they will be appreciated. Also, as a singer in a choir myself, can I say how much your playing means to everyone at your church? Without your playing, there would be no music. Whenever our organist can’t make it, we can’t sing – so I really, really appreciate and value what she does….and yes, she makes the odd mistake or two as well, but no-one cares (or probably even notices!) You have been given the talent to play and you generously share it in your community, so be proud of the contribution you make and know that you are very much loved for it xxxx πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ {{{{ }}}}
CG – my community sounds alot like yours and there is great spirit and friendliness where people help each other out and always have a chat or a smile whenever their paths cross. I love where I live. So glad things have cooled off a bit, so it looks like you will have ideal conditions for Christmas and that the danger of fires has passed for now. πŸ™‚
Dawg – so glad to hear you are having fun times with the family and you should be so proud of your weight loss to date – 8kg is brilliant. Yes, going swimming is a bit daunting but apart from that, you can dress for your shape and I’m sure you look so much better than when you had those extra 8kg….so, chin up and stand tall! Loving all the fun definitions; sharing them with OH as I write! πŸ˜† Enjoy the cooler weather and I bet Pepper is feeling and looking a million dollars!!
Up – don’t you know there is never a wrong time to have champagne!! You are a saint to put up with all that mess in your kitchen. Luckily, my sister makes the most incredible pavlova…..about four or five inches high and just enough crunch on the outside to give a bit of bite but doesn’t break your teeth! She always decorates it beautifully too, so that it looks like a work of art. What type of job is your daughter starting; I know she studied psychology?
PH – my OH loves sudoku too; he doesn’t set them, but loves to do them. He’s a real words and numbers guy and also stores lots quirky facts in his head – he says is brain is like an attic – full of junk, but when you look carefully there is a gem or two hidden away too!! I had a great time watching Strictly with my sis and I slept like a baby – couldn’t have had anything to do with the schnapps, I’m sure!!! πŸ˜‰ I bet your memories will go down a storm with the family – what a special gift to give; priceless! xxxx
Ok, back to the chores again and see how many more I can get through today – please note, not killing myself, CG!!! Talk later, gals xxxxx

Purple hats I am going ok – thank you for asking.

I had a successful fast day today. I think the hot weather kept my appetite under control. I even managed to make a toblerone cheesecake (for family gathering tomorrow) and didn’t lick the spoon! Boy am I hanging out to taste it tomorrow night lol!

Well..memories all done. Just have to do a little elf dance thingo for my grandson so he won’t feel left out. Such a good feeling. Fit and CG I do play scrabble on the computer with friends as it checks the spelling for you. Very helpful.. What great thoughts for SueJen, she is a special person..
Doggy. I am still 98kg and am in swimmers all of the time. Wear a cover up until it is time to actually get into the water ..then take it off before you get in. Then no one can see what you are trying to hide.i too used to be seflconcious but have decided to accept that this is the shape I have been given and so I’d best make the most of it. I have swim skirts with a blouse top which hides all problems for swimming at the beach. In the pool I wear one piece because most people have problems and they are better for exercising in. I go through 3 pairs of swimmers a year because of the chlorine. It is the only exercise I can do and I love it. And I believe that everyone is entitled to feel the benefit if being in water and..what the heck. Your family love you for who you are…not what they think you should look like..so enjoy the freedom..😎😎😎

On that note time for the land of nodπŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

Fit, 38 today and 19 tomorrow, a lot easier to handle but Christmas day is predicted to be 34 then 24 boxing day, so the fickle weather is still with us. It’s hard to dress nicely and look nice with wet sticky hair in the heat but we do our best πŸ˜€ so with an aircon in the car and my daughters house will be cool, hoping for a comfortable day although the drive home will be during the hottest part of the day. Oh well summer in Aust!
I think both the organ player AND the choir make the atmosphere at all church services. I watched “Boychoir” the other day, it’s a wonderful movie, Dustin Hoffman and others, it’s about those glorious voices of young boys, worth a look. πŸ˜€ Everytime I watch something regarding the Royals, the voices of their choir are just so moving.
Katy well done and what strength not licking the spoon.
My resiliance is pretty weak at the moment, too many treats in the house keep calling me, but if I stuff up for two weeks over Christmas, so be it! This time of year IS to be enjoyed, and after a year of caution it’s lovely to spoil oneself 😌
Most meals consist of salads but the chocolate is everywhere! Also iced coffee at night is so yum, I’ll just suffer through and give myself a shake up in the new year. 😏
Fasting tomorrow team, have you prepared? Possibly the last before xmas day so make it count. Although it’s not just the day, it’s the season isn’t it with so many treats on offer 😏……chat tomorrow, nighty nite team xxxx

Katy..our posts crossed.. Well done with sticking to your fast day. …enjoy tomorrow night..

CG our posts also crossed. I too am indulging myself..it is the time of the year..all prepared for the fast day tomorrow and off to the pool at 8am to start the day. Nite nite..

Well said PH, we are who we are now, not what we used to be. It’s easy to look at our daughters and think, I used to be like that, but look at your grand mothers too, we all age differently, but no matter their size, it’s the smiles and cuddles we remember, right? If we are still able to enjoy life, that’s all that counts. πŸ˜ƒbxxxxx

Nighty nite PH, we cross posts so often πŸ˜‰ xx

Katylee – I can’t believe you resisted licking the spoon from the toblerone cheesecake!! As everyone on this thread knows, I have a real weakness for toblerone!!! It has been my downfall on many an occasion. Well done too on your successful fast; many more to come I’m sure! If you notice I’m posting at odd times that’s because I live in Ireland but these fab ladies have adopted me as an honorary Aussie and I’m so happy that they did! They are a wonderful bunch and have seen me through more than one or two sticky moments! So I hope you stay with us and I have no doubt that you will benefit greatly if you do and will find friends for life.

    Wow, Katy , impressive!

PH how lovely that your daughter is coming the other way. It isn’t my husband who sets crosswords, clever though he is. Is it yours, Fit?

I will have to try one of these Toblerone cheesecakes. They sound yummy.

My son’s pav was fine if slightly undercooked apparently but I have the oven man coming this morning as it needs new hinges and a seal so was leaking. Great in summer…
Last week the man didn’t come so stayed home for nothing, but should be fine today.

I play word games a lot but I hate numbers. Thank goodness my daughter got some maths genes from her father!

And right now, while I am drinking my wake up coffee, my daughter is whipping up a storm again. We haven’t made any macarons since we did the course but have decided to make red and green ones for xmas. Now all we have to do is remember, we should have done some straight afterwards! So, guess who isn’t fasting until after xmas?

SJ, you are right, she did psychology and the new job is as a research assistant at a university, very exciting.

Silly me UP. It is FIT’s husband that sets the crosswords. Sorry FIT did not mean th give UP your husband..ha ha. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ I thought you would be impressed with Katy not licking the spoon when making the toblorone cheesecake.

UP ..wow your household is a frenzy of baking activity. Sounds like such fun..congratulations on the successful pav. They are my fav so it is good I can’t cook them and can only have them on vary rare occasions.

Katy ..keep up the great work. Continuing along the line Fit started telling you a little bit about ourselves… I live in the hinterland behind Coffs Harbour on the North Coast of NSW in a little village of Nana Glen. I am recently retired and have only been on the thread since September . I have lost almost 9 kg since starting so can recommend this way of life. The members of the thread welcomed me with open arms and I could not have done this without their support. Enjoy your journey with us..

    Thinking of you SJ… πŸ’•πŸ’•

A great big hi to everyone elseπŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

Morning team, evening Fit and wow to you Up, this early and cooking! Understandable you wont be fasting till after xmas now, it’s only a week, two fast, I doubt it will make much difference to you 😊
Unsure how my fast will go today too. I’m making the shortbread, but have treats at the ready, which are so tempting, especially with a coffee or drink. Difficult time of year with so much extra in. I have resinged myself to thinking if I gain 3-4k over the Christmas season, it will soon be gone, easily, in the new year.
This is a way of life, and so is Christmas, my way of eating is healthy 98% of the time but I don’t want to feel deprived over this fabulous season 😊 You can’t offer guests treats then go without yourself. You don’t offer wine, then drink water! Hay it’s Xmas, time to make memories……enjoy 😜
It’s been raining overnight, the air is cool and clear. Just a bit of respite before the heat starts up again, a blessing in itself. It’s the heatwaves with no breaks that are the difficult times.
Must admit, I love sudoku too, and you dont’t have to be good with numbers as long as you can count to 9, I keep a sudoku book in my car, it’s surprising how often I use it, Dr’s appt etc. or just waiting for something πŸ˜‰
Have a fun day team, you can’t help but feel the spirit this time of year, an expectation is in the air. Good luck with fasting, stay strong or at least low cal, all is forgiven if you miss it this week πŸ˜ƒ so don’t sweat the small stuff and stop being so hard on yourself. Happy day to you all team xxxxxx

Yes, Up – it is my OH who sets crosswords. I’m not really into them myself but I appreciate the skill it takes. And it was me who asked about your daughter’s job too!! Very exciting times for her and it will be interesting work too, I’m sure. Best of luck with the macarons, I bet they will be delicious!

Can you believe we crossed posts again PH?

Morning CG and PH – you are all early birds!! I think we can all enjoy this Christmas season with moderation as our appetites have changed and we know when to stop because we listen to our bodies. I know I will enjoy many treats but I feel that I will not binge or eat until I’m nearly sick as I have done in the past. That’s the plan at the moment anyway! I’m definitely going to do a good fast tomorrow and hopefully one on Wed too. I have been going around the house today, adding little touches….ribbons, lights, holly, candles etc. The excitement is building and I just love it!! πŸ™‚
