  • Oh CG. Can this year get any worse for you? I really feel for you because as mothers we feel as if we should be able to just take them in our arms and fix everything like we did when they were little. The eyes are such a worry. Hopefully her specialist can see her before Christmas and if not is she going to follow-up with some other second opinion? I am a great believer of always getting another opinion. Thank goodness you, and I imagine your daughter, have such resilience. Sending up some prayers for her. And {{{??. }}} for you.

UP. I gave all of the silver I had been given over the years to my SIL who really loves it….because I hate cleaning it..that solved the problem. As to all of my other nice crystal glasses I’m with you CG ..I use it all. The little wedgewood coffee set just seemed too nice to give away , mine is white with little pink flowers on it, so it has been sitting there because of the size of the cups. However with changing coffee appreciation maybe now will actually get to use it.

GG ..I guess I am really like you. Find it very hard to slow down. Tried to set up the TV but it ended up getting the better of me. Will have to call someone. Thank god my daughter will soon be close enough to call regarding the technical things that are still beyond me. So bloody frustrating. I hate not being able to understand things. Best get up and about as my cleaner comes today. Was thinking of actually registering for home care but have decided to stick with the one I have..she is good, and she only charges 20.00 per hour. I would imagine that the clients who get you are really pleased with what you do for them.

Fit …you sound like you are going to have a magical day. Should be so much fun. Enjoy every minute. ???

Oh CG – I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s health issues. It’s so worrying, anything to do with eyes. It’s just not fair, all you have gone through yourself, then Tegan and now this! I hope her doctor can recommend someone else to her if he is going to be away. She needs advice and treatment now so that she can get some improvement and peace of mind before Christmas. I will be keeping her and you in my thoughts and prayers. Try to get some rest and sleep yourself if you can so that you don’t hinder your own recovery. Sending you love and hugs xxxx (((( ))))
I had a wonderful time at the carol service; the orchestra was amazing and there was a beautiful mezzo-soprano as well. Then I had lunch at the concert hall, with wine! And this evening I had dinner with my family…more wine, cheese, pate and…..wait for it…….toblerone!!!!! Oh dear, this was supposed to be a quiet week!!
Pretty tired now so I’ll post properly tomorrow. Lovely to hear from Up, SJ, PH and GG. Hope all going well for Gyps and the leprechaun. Noots and Milena – how are you both? Any other occasional posters or lurkers, why not check in and let us know how you’re doing. Take care all xxxx

Hello everyone. CG I’m so sorry about your daughter and psoriasis of the eyes. It sounds horrible. Would some antihistamine eye drops not help alleviate the problem a bit? Yes well cleaners, I too move all the stuff and tidy up before she arrives. She is a jolly soulnthough and nothing is too much trouble. Not a perfectionist does an adequate job.
Yesterday I saw my GP re my meds. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it but I suffer from depression. Have done for years and am on antidepressants which cause weight gain. It would seem that they all contain similar ingredients so he advises me to stay on them and just carry on with the 5:2. He was very happy with my choice of diet. While I was at the chemist getting my scripts filled I saw some meal replacement packs advertised for weight loss. On reading the fine print on the back I saw each meal pack came in at over 2050 calories! Needless to say I did not buy any.
PH I agree it’s better to get someone who knows what they are doing to set up your TV for you. Once that’s done I’m sure you’ll be able to learn to use the new technology. Learning something new is good for our brains.
SJ I read the article on holiday eating. It is all sensible and doable.
I’m not fasting tomorrow as the family arrive. I will check in from time to time to see how you are all doing.
    XX Dawg

Doggy, I take Zoloft for my anxiety but it is an antidepressant that doesn’t cause weight gain.I have been on it for several years now and am not able to go off it, but fortunately it works well for me.

I agree about using things but for me, some of it is just for special occasions and I rarely drink tea and a little fine china cup just wouldn’t do, plus it then needs to be handwashed. At a recent Melbourne Cup lunch my hostess got out all her mother’s cups and saucers and it was nice to see. Taking a coffee break right now in a big, cheap mug!

Hi everyone. CG that is not good news for you. On looking it up I assume that your D is talking about Uveitis? Certainly sounds like she needs a really good eye specialist & will need to be on meds….guess she already is anyway. I have psoriasis from time to time, or dermatitis but in your eyes is another whole level & terribly sore/irritating & so much more complicated. {{{ }}} your way CG & trust they can get on top of this really quickly.
No silver in my house PH & very little crystal. OH & I have very different views on using the good cutlery/glasses etc we have in the cabinet. I say I’d rather use it than die with it still in good nick in the cupboard …….what use was that?! So I use it whenever I feel like it & he grumps a bit but puts up with it. He’s always a bit on edge though when we do use it but truly….that’s what it what made for!!
Oh Fit it’s that time of year dear. Just enjoy the outings & events & fast when you can. Don’t give yourself the guilts or begrudge the event…just enjoy the precious moments! Then get back on the wagon when you can.
Doggie really good to hear that your dr approved of 5:2 & to stay on your meds. Swapping around with depression can be a tricky business & 5:2 should handle any weight gain you may otherwise have had. Yeah for family time Dawg just enjoy..enjoy…and enjoy!!
UT I’m all for the big cheap mug if it’s a coffee! I do have some really nice mugs but don’t use them as often as I don’t get enough. So the cupboard is a bit of a mix.

Have a great day all. I was given a block of chocky from one of my bus families but fortunately………..I don’t like it much! It’s a local gourmet company that has a very good reputation & only makes dark choc but I prefer my Lindt…it’s smoother. And the big bag of lollies I was given I actually just put in the bin. I do LOVE lollies but that’s exactly why I put them straight into the outside bin – no rescuing them after that! suejen XXXX
PS I notice that my weight is staying down better in between FD’s this week & I’d put that down to getting back into walking so that’s great. As we woke up after 5am this morning we’ve already done our hour’s walk so done & dusted.

Hi all. It’s my fast day today and all going well so far. Just had one HB egg and some tomato and cucumber. My cleaner was here today and she cleaned up a storm. First thing she found when cleaning around the TV was something not plugged in fully..plugged it and and hey presto..New TV working a treat. Something as simple as that. She did the regular house stuff and then we went up to the studio.we took covers off all the cushions etc, changed all the beds, gave everything a super clean and did the floors etc. so now I just have to wash all the covers and put them back on and the Studio all clean and sparkly for the guests. She really is a treasure. I have a full week to get through the washing a bit at a time. Then she is coming back next Wednesday to do an extra clean before Christmas..so I won’t have to overdo things at all. Well worth the extra money.

SJ. I must have given you the wrong impression. I too use everything I have. Love my scotch out of my crystal glasses. Use them all the time. Not much use having things I don’t use. Good to see the walking having a real effect and you are feeling better. Makes you feel so good doing regular exercise. I am Just going down to the local pool this afternoon for a bit of movement..that is if it does not storm. Looking a bit like it.

Doggy. Make sure you enjoy every moment of your family. ????
FIT. You sound like you really had a wonderful day. Good on you. Love all the things you go to, enjoying life is a great way to off set the time spent looking after your sister. Great balance. ????

Another load of washing just finished in the machine, I don’t want OH to put this one out on the line, it is my clothes so better get up and get the, before he does. Bye for now!

Hi team good results from my surgeon so hopefully that’s me out of the way for this year. Suejen, you right, that’s exactly what it’s called. She messaged me from work on my ipad to say her specialist will be doing a study on it over xmas and see her early Jan. She is booked to see an opthomologist early Jan too. I guess the drops she’s using (cortisone based) are helping her because from what I gather cortisone is the choice of treatment. My poor baby, I so wish I could wave a magic want and have it all go away. She is very much like me, no point in letting it get you down, just tackle it best you can and get on with things. The tears last night I think was a culmination of how the year has panned out, and that just tipped her over the edge. I did the last of my xmas shopping whilst in Traralgon but have eaten too much junk food through the day. Possibly emotional, I don’t know and home at 3:45 and poured a whiskey and zero….what the “H” I don’t care. I know we will get through this, there is no other way, follow all treatments and see what happens.
Cleaning seems to be the theme of the last couple of days and I now have shopping plonked on any available surface! Oh well, clean dirt, things to wrap, things for the pantry and xmas cooking, I can’t afford to drop my bundle, I have to show strength and empathy but endorse positive thoughts. I will most certainly be fasting tomorrow, oh golly, after what I’ve had today, I need to. Oh I shouted myself some new clothes, so many specials around, and found I’m size 12 in both top AND bottom! So one nice surprise for me anyway ? okay, off to feed Lexie, then back to putting some things away, the rest can wait till tomorrow as a lot needs wrapping.
I’m sorry team to off load like this but we worry about our babies from the day they are born don’t we……..enjoy the evening team, very hot here and getting worse according to all reports..โ˜บ๏ธ xxxxxxx

    CG don’t you dare apologise about offloading! Gosh we all have our turns & we all appreciate being able to do so in such a safe supportive environment. And remember that environment was CREATED BY YOU! So offload all you like & we’ll support you. No wonder you’ve had an emotional eating day but who cares really? It’s just one day & you’ll be back on the bandwagon tomorrow. It takes time to process bad news so just hang in there CG. We & you know that you’ll support your baby all the way & that’s what’s important. sj XXXX {{{{{ }}}}}

CG- Your family does not need any more health issues. Are you sure Leaha cannot be referred to some opthal ASAP … ONE DOES NOT WAIT (the DR that is) WHEN IT COMES TO EYES. Maybe if she went through Emergency due to the pain the Drs could get the “on Call” to see her .
Heard from LOTUS yesterday ….sends all her best to you all… is busy. She is coming to the reunion.
We are having pizza tonight as I just cannot do cooking. 6hrs of cleaning has me exhusted….vaccuming and washing floors AND Bathrooms.I cleaned 8 bathrooms today from top to bottom.
Am looking forward to bed .
    Talk tomorrow………GO GALXXXXXXXXXXX

CG . Please don’t feel bad about offloading. We understand completely, you have something very worrying happening at the moment and really need to blow off some steam..??Your blowout today was to be expected. Just know you have all of our best wishes and prayers. ?? You will be her strength when she needs you as you have been many times before ..??? wow to being size 12 top and bottom. Enjoy your new clothes.

GG . You must be one fit lady to be able to do all of those bathrooms. Be careful and don’t overdo it and no wonder you are looking forward to bed.. How many days do you work?

Finished my FD and did well. 456cal. Very tired and I have been resting a fair bit today..not like GG …off to the land of nod???

Thanks girls, PH, wow 456 cals well done. I spoke to Leah before then got a simple “Mum, stop stressing” she said the opthomologist she has seen has done “scan’s” for the want of a better word each time she saw him which was twice and he is the one who has her on the cortisone anti inflammatory eye drops. She is waiting to here from her dermatologist to see who he recommends. Like she said, it’s Christmas next Friday (i didn’t think it WAS that close) she has drops and nothing is any different. The tears were from the shock at the locum’s suggestion but she is following it through, maybe her dermatologist would prefer a different eye doctor who specialises in this sort of thing, so many if’s and but’s so it’s now a waiting game. I feel a bit better now after speaking to her and with your help and support so will be guided by all her decisions. She is not a fool and will not treat this lightly.
So, another fast day looming for us all tomorrow, or some of us at least, I think I have had enough today to do me tomorrow too. I stupidly bought chocolates to offer blow ins, and have been hoeing into them grrrrr, but golly they are nice, tut tut tut!
Sleep tight team, Santa comes soon ? think positive, I am, I refuse to even consider anything worse happening in my family so prayers are being sent upwards and as always, I know they will be answered โ˜บ๏ธ sweet dreams team, nighty nite xxxxx

    Hi All!
CG – yes, we can never switch off from worrying about our kids and we all have that maternal urge to swap places with them and take their pain on ourselves. If the drops are helping enough to give Leah relief and ease until Christmas is over, that’s great. But if not, I agree with GG that she should go through Emergency and get seen to straight away. Meanwhile, you are doing everything you can so you have to look after yourself. Eat healthily, rest and distract yourself with your four-legged friends and your wonderful garden. Don’t forget you are still in recovery mode yourself. We are here to support you, as you have been for all of us. It’s good to rant or offload sometimes, that’s what we’re here for!! No apologies necessary. How brilliant to be size 12 all over, woohoo!! What did you buy? You always look so stylish and have a real talent for putting an outfit together. Wouldn’t it be lovely if we all posted a photo of ourselves in our Christmas outfits?
Dawg – if your meds are working for your depression and 5:2 is keeping you healthy otherwise, then stick with the plan. It’s hard to find the right balance between mind and body – there is no doubt that they are strongly linked. I hope you’re managing to get out and about in the fresh air, as that can be very good for you in all sorts of ways. Enjoy the family and make the most of their time with you. Take care, dear friend xxxx
Up – I have lovely old soup bowls which OH and I bought in an antique shop about 30 years ago and they always come out on Christmas day. We have a real mismatch of crystal glasses, some Waterford and other Irish makes – there are no full sets left as various bits and pieces have been broken over the years from being used all the time. Still, it’s better than gathering dust, I think.
SJ – How strong you are to throw away all those goodies! I’ve made up my mind to enjoy every minute of my social whirl for the next couple of weeks – I’ll do FDs when I can to the best of my ability and then reassess when it’s all over. Life is good and I’m counting my blessings – you gals being among them!! ๐Ÿ™‚
GG – how great to hear from Lotus, I’m so glad she got in touch and that she will be going to the reunion. Please give her my best wishes. I always enjoyed her posts. You are an absolute whirlwind at the cleaning….8 bathrooms in one day – I’m exhausted just reading about it!! Don’t overdo things or you won’t be able to enjoy Christmas! Xxxxx
PH – so glad to hear you got the new TV sorted, yippee!! Your cleaner sounds like a gem and you are motoring through all the washing etc…..brilliant! Well done on your successful fast day too ๐Ÿ™‚
Well, I better get up off my backside and do the jobs I’ve put on the list for today! I also have French and ballroom dance classes today!! Gotta dash……. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    CG – our posts crossed. Glad to hear that Leah is feeling a bit more reassured now, so sleep well and take care. Big hugs to you {{{{ }}}}

Hi FIT…am having my usual wake time around 2am..sounds like you have a busy day planned as always. What sort of dance classes are they? And does your OH go with you? I loved the old time dances we used to regularly go to in our youth , teen and early married life. Such a great night out with opportunities to meet spunky fellas. I met my OH at a dance..wonderful memories.

CG so pleased that your daughter is telling you not to stress. As you say..she is not a fool and will have asked all the right questions of the opthomalogist, who should be the one to have the answers regarding protecting her eye until further opinions are canvassed. You have raised her well so all you need to do now is trust in her judgement. Enjoy your Christmas and your belief that things will be OK.??? ?

SJ . Just reading back and wow what willpower. Putting those lollies straight in the bin was a mammoth effort. Well done. I’m with you on some of the really healthy dark chocolate. They need a bit if sweetening!! But then I guess they would not be as healthy. ???. Going to make some nice treat for my wonderful neighbour/cleaner. She is such a godsend. At times like this I realise how lucky I am to have someone like this. Well back to sleep now. Enjoy the day tomorrow. I have Bridge in the morning and then the Bridge Christmas Party at 4pm. Hopefully feel up to going.
    Nite again all??

Hi PH – my sister and I go to ballroom/latin dance classes and we dance together because neither of our OHs are interested. My sister does the ‘man’ most of the time, as we reckon we’ll only get the chance to dance like that at family weddings so we might as well learn to partner each other! We love the waltz, cha-cha and especially the quickstep and we’ve been surprised at how much we’ve taken to the foxtrot. We are always forgetting the steps and we laugh ourselves silly at the mistakes we make – it’s brilliant fun! Hope you got a good sleep in the end and enjoy the bridge playing and the party!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Good morning team. Up before the chooks this morning at 5:10 am but not before a little bird outside my bedroom window going through his full song book! The ” little darlin” grrrr, they are all up now chatting as loud as they can, so no hope of a sleep in on a hot summer morning ? 37 due today so a real stinker. Chores will be done early then the arvo in front of telly and possibly a nanny nap, with the air con going โ˜บ๏ธ
I used to go to the “pension” dance with my Nanna Fit when I was very young and did all those dances. It was fun and I loved it but moreover our time together, she was very precious to me with a wicked sense of humour ?and of course through my early teen years, in the ’60’s we used to go to the rock dances, what a way to keep fit AND slim, so it’s wonderful exercise for you and your sister. I forgot to ask Fit, did your family have plenty of stories of Oz and did they enjoy themselves?
PH I have been having the same problems the night of a fast with lack of sleep. It’s awful. The brain seems too alert. I hope your still asleep now.
Big fire warnings here for the next few days of extreme heat, so fingers crossed there are no idiots around lighting them. Enjoy your fast today if doing one team, we need it’s help this time of year although they seem harder sometimes at weeks end.
Thank you all again for the support regarding my daughter, I’m a typical lioness when it comes to my children but feel so helpless when I can’t make it all better. Chat later ? xxxxxx

Oh FIT what fun you and your sister must have. What a good idea to go together.. These were the dances I grew up with. I think I’ve mentioned before that my dad played in a band at local dances. Well it turned out that my OH also had a dad that played in the local dance band so he is also a good dancer. So I have been lucky in that respect. We still did the occasional Jive, quickstep etc at family dances until a few years ago when I my hip got poisoning. Feet tap like mad at weddings now itching to get up and dance. Maybe one day!! Never say never. It is great exercise!! ?????..also wondering about the stories from Aus..

CG. Hope your area stayed safe from fires today and that you manage to keep cool. It is overcast here today, I guess the end of the front that moved through Sydney and up th east coast. Those pesky birds!!?
    Have a great day.

Good luck with your fasts everyone who is doing one. YOU CAN DO IT!!!????
Not sure if I’ll do my second one Friday or Saturday this week. Happy with yesterday’s though.

Fit, I too have Waterford that my grandparents and aunt started me off with years ago and I never use them. You have inspired me, they are coming out on xmas day.

I do Lindyhop or Swing dancing with my reluctant, yet wanting to keep me happy, husband. It is great fun, I love the music of that era which is jazz from the 30’s and 40’s. Plus you can wear jeans and flat shoes. Great way to exercise! We have been doing it on and off for several years, currently “off” till 2016 while this book is being finished.

GG, good on you, no doubt some cals burnt yesterday and happy customers, but very hard work!

PH, I am impressed by bridge players. They scare me though because they take it so seriously. One day I might be brave enough to try it.

CG, you know you can offload here without guilt. Hopefully 2016 will be a better year for you. And size 12’s? Excellent!

Also, I don’t know how xmas got here so quickly. Apart from the pudding I had done nothing and now I am cleaning out cupboards as if I have nothing else to do. Well, as of a few minutes ago I have started the shopping. There is a great Sheridan sale online with free delivery before xmas if anyone is interested. I ordered some new towels but also some quick dry towels for my kids and a bath sheet for my 6’6 son. They are all young and tend to leave towels around so the quick dry grabbed me. They may not find such a gift terribly exciting so I will have to come up with some other stuff!

My xmas book club lunch today so not fasting….

CG – I have a pheasant family who seem to have settled in the hedge just outside my bedroom window and they squawk like crazy early every morning….grrrrrr!! Am strongly considering have pheasant for Christmas dinner!!! Sounds like you have a very sensible plan for the day and hope your area is not hit with fires. My brother and SIL did lots of trips around Sydney, ferries across the harbour and then they finished up in Melbourne, where they were blown away by the modern architecture. They were also quite shocked at how expensive everything is!! But they had a lovely time with their daughter who says she is coming home to Ireland in the next year or two – here’s hoping. They also met up with a niece of ours, with her husband and little baby; so lots of fun family times and loads of gorgeous photos.
PH – we love to jive too but can get our arms in knots sometimes when the moves get a bit complicated. One of the ladies at the class tonight said she loves watching us laugh!! So at least, we’re spreading some joy!!!
UP – so glad I’ve inspired you to use the waterford crystal…only the best for you and yours!! I would love to do Lindyhop/Swing dancing….it’s brilliant to watch and very energetic….you must be super fit! Yes, Christmas has a habit of sneaking up on us – I’m already behind with my great planned timetable of jobs!!!! Never mind, I’m going to do the best I can and after that, I’ll just keep pouring drink down everyone until they’re enjoying themselves!!! Ho, Ho, Ho!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Fit you worry me how late you stay up with such a busy lifestyle ๐Ÿ˜Š you must sleep so heavy? I just saw the time you posted.๐Ÿ˜‰
Well the size 12 tops were a dud, oh they fitted, as long as I don’t mind a flat bust and an inability to move much, god forbid I need to reach for something, or let the belly out when I sit ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ so back to comfy 14’s in top’s but 12 bottoms are perfect. Like everything the cut/brand makes all the difference. I’m bloated today too, too many carbs yesterday I think, but struggling to fast. I’ll keep going for as long as I can. I have a small leg of lamb cooking for cold meat (wonderful what you find when you clean out one of the freezers) so that will have the tummy gurgling, roast lamb cooking smells delish! So could be cold lamb and salad for dinner, and hope I can stay away from a taste test of the crunchy skin!
Very very hot here, so pretty relaxed arvo today, nanny nap could be a go too thanks to that bird this morning…..hang in there team, it’s not always easy but if you do need something go lightly with the cals ๐Ÿ˜€ xxxxxxx

Hi all. I’m a tad late today. I’ve just had Di around with her dog and she and Pepper had a exhausting game of running and chasing each other in the garden. He’s now utterly exhausted.
GG it’s good to know that Lotus is OK and going to the reunion.
As the silly season is almost on us I leave you with the odd chuckle. Courtesy of Mensa who came up with with some new definitions.

Flabbergasted – appalled at rhe amount of weight one has gained.
Abdicate – totally give up on ever having a flat stomach.

None of this applies to us of course.
CG please don’t apologise. You and your family have had far too many health issues of late. Size 12 WOW Good on you. My New Years resolution is to carry on with the 5:2. If I’m able to lose another 8 kilos by this time next year I’ll be close to my ideal weight for age and height etc. I’ll be one happy camper. No reason why I can’t with your encouragement.
    XX Dawg

    Afternoon Team!.
    DAWG- great definitions!
Have had a busy morning up till know on this FD. I have made the table decorations glazed and cooked the Ham, made brandy butter, organised the cutlery for Saturdays Christmas lunch.
have to go as a friend is here Be back later…..go galxxx

Busy girl GG, your doing well
Doggy, no reason at all you wont reach goal by this time next year ๐Ÿ˜ƒ we all seemed to have stalled this year but we haven’t gained which is just as important. We have each other as a team, and with that type of support we can achieve anything, nothing is impossible. I bet Pepper sleeps all afternoon after her play time ๐Ÿ˜€ good chance for you to rest up although your guests are arriving today aren’t they? Enjoy the family time Doggy, memories in the making xxxxxx

Hi all. I’m with you on going the extra size for comfort CG. Nothing like being able to relax that tummy knowing it is not being outlined by clothing. I have just tried in an outfit that I used to wear to Christmas party’s a few years ago. Looks great….Long black and white print crinkle cotton skirt and really cool little black top. Very hot here today now and so just the shiny shilling for the bridge club Christmas party at 4.30. The last one I think..I find long cotton skirts much cooler than pants in the real hot weather. And the look much more ladylike when sitting on my walker. That means I have two more skirts that will fit once again..great for my beach holiday. CG. Be strong with that Lamb….you can do it!!

GG you have been busy getting organised..

UP. I am just learning bridge and I think it will take some time to get it all into my head. However I am enjoying it but will never take it too seriously..after all it is just a card game. Learning with a friend of mine and her daughter..who is picking it up much quicker than the oldies…her brain not clogged with all of life’s lesion yet. Teacher has a great sense of humour..turned up today with her hair in about 8 plats all over her head with Christmas balls attached to the ends.. Her kids dressed her..love it..

Hi to you Doggy and everyone else. Almost time for shower and off to the party. ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿพmaking myself some watermelon and soda water punch with Lime. as I have to drive..

PH I’m sure you will look lovely and of course be nice and cool. Enjoy the cards ๐Ÿ˜€ xx

PH – you will look beautiful and be so cool in your outfit.Have a FAB time.
Not much more to do cooking wise for Saturday. Will make the peach trifle tomorrow then it is doing the seafood platters that morning.
The FD has gone well ….just a handful of peanuts and a glass of Sav when my friend arrived so the lamb cutlets and vegies will take me to 500 cals.
Will not be posting until Sunday. So keep the faith of OUR AUSSIE DETERMINATION strong. Hope the weigh ins tomorrow will be all negitives on those scales.
Take care and enjoy whatever functions you are attending. DO NOT FEEL GUILTY. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!………Love and Hugs ……..GO GAL xxxxxx

GG have a great time on Saturday..I’m sure you will have everything laid out beautifully and everyone will enjoy the day. ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—

    Hi All!
CG – you are so sweet to be worrying about me, when you are going through so much yourself. I usually go to bed around 1am as I find it very hard to get to sleep and I wake up at least once or twice during the night for a trip to the loo! However, I don’t get up until around 9am, so in theory I’m getting my 8 hours in bed! I have tried a few different options and this seems to suit me best…I’m a night owl, not a lark, like you!! My OH goes to bed between 10 and 11pm and gets up between 5 and 6am – well, they do say opposites attract!! Mmmm; love roast lamb and it is very tasty hot or cold; hope you enjoyed it ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you’re staying safe and cool in all that heat. If I send you some rain, will you send me some sun please…it’s so dark and gloomy here ๐Ÿ™
Dawg – you have done brilliantly so far on 5:2 and you will achieve further losses next year, we all know this is a wol and you have it sussed – slow and steady wins the race. ๐Ÿ™‚ Love the definitions, thanks for the laugh…my OH loved them too, he loves words. He sets crosswords for a living.
GG – love the sounds of all your Christmas preparations, well done! Great FD done and dusted too. You are amazing!! Enjoy the weekend xxxx
PH – what a great feeling to find a favourite outfit now fits again, it’s like having a whole new wardrobe! I love the sound of your cool skirt and I’m sure you’ll look and feel fab! Enjoy the party ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
I’m all set for my FD today and I’m going to be strong and determined so that I can feel in control for the Christmas period. I think I’ll take my sister to get her to get her hair done today too (forgot to put that on my list of tasks!), as it will be getting busier and busier in the next few days. Stay safe, warm/cool, determined and happy, everybody…..have a wonderful weekend xxxx

Fit. I used to be like that with sleeping and I was told that I needed to set my alarm to get up earlier each day..even if I only went to sleep at 1am. So started setting alarm for 8am for a a week , then 7.30 The next week and then after another week set it for 7am Found that if I could get through the day without nanny naps and made myself get up when the alarm went off I started getting tired earlier and so usually go to bed now around 9 to 9 30 …a bit late tonight. So that became a regular thing for a while and now I seem to wake up around 2am each morning to go to the loo and stay awake for about an hour in the middle of my sleep. Naturally wake up at about 7am still. Which is great because I go to the pool at 8am two to three mornings a week. I guess it is what suits you and your lifestyle. I actually made the change so I could go to the pool for aquarobics classes no still have a full day left to do stuff after I got home.

I did feel great in my old party skirt and top. Always did no now it is new again as I am living in a different town and have new friends. So cool. Would love to send you some warmth. I remembered you asking about the miso soup. I make it from a recipe that is on the Aussie Determination recipe thread. Usually make a batch and freeze half of it for the next fast day. Good in the cooler times.

Anyway getting weary. Catch you later. Hope your FD is going well. I am fasting tomorrow..

Hi,gang, Can’t believe the week has gone so quickly and it’s ages since I posted. Got delayed in the big smoke for extra tests. Nothing different to report there but it’s good for Oh to know that. He’s been obsessing about the speculation re government cutting funding to pensioners and pathology/ scans etc. We couldn’t possibly afford the 3 monthly MRI’s if it came to that. so at least he’s now up to date and knows it’s still stable.(his liver).
Anyway, I had a few days xmas shopping and have one day home before I have to whizz off to Cardwell for the annual pensioner’s dinner with my sil and bros. We have fun razzing oooold school chums. I generally take the bike and give rides. But it needs a polish, phew! It all seems such a rush! But am enjoying life ATM, so can’t complain. But my fasting is more a matter of no time to eat!

Haven’t had time to read all posts, but skimmed enough to know I should have been here for you CG, so sorry you’ve been having another family health issue. Psoriasis is a bitch, but it is stress related, so try to work on that angle and not add to your daughter’s by overly worrying yourself. she is a chip of the old block. You said it yourself, she will take the necessary steps and cortisone drops will work to reduce inflammation and suppress it. she’ll be fine for the time it takes to get to the specialist and better the less she has to worry about. She’ll be worrying about you so recently pre op. So you be well. And relaxed and she will, too.(just like breastfed bubs react to the stress hormones in mum’s milk) She’s still your baby and now she feels responsible for you. that’s the way it is. (and you wouldn’t have it any other way, would you?) Talk to us. talk to Lexie, and your boys. just don’t be anxious when you talk to her. hugs. perhaps you could email your postal address and I could send you some tonic? JD with a twist?

Fit,just look in the mirror and you will see the sun shine! sending heat waves to you, dearie. xx
Dawg I do think I’m getting pixilated without booze these days, but it’s better to blame the wine! Enjoy your family. and the cooool of Tassie. our Tassie visitor nearly expired from the heat up here and is having a fine time sending us emails of snow peaks in his view at home!

GG, Have a blow, girl! You sound so much like the Gawdmuther, a rolling firecracker of energy who lights up the joint, wherever it may be. we will have many strong personalities hitting that joint in Sydney next March, did you check the fire escapes?

UP really glad you’re confirmed to be there now, too. We will discuss cures for anxiety (only caring people get it, you know, the rest don’t worry!).

Suejen, am seeing your busy and productive, and strong! Lollies in the bin? well done. so what do you do when the school bus stops for the holidays?

PH. I see you! Just the shiny shilling in your long cotton skirt sitting on your walker, playing bridge — what a word picture that paints! You’re a dead set dag and I’m so looking forward to our mob’s meet up.

Anyway, gang, I am happy because I am now definitely one kilo lighter. Have stayed in the 85kg zone for several weeks. Yay! 86 is gone! and I’ll be a sketchy poster for the yuletide period, but…. I’ll be back! Keep the faith. Cheers all! xx Gyps

PH – thanks for the advice, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness xx. I’m happy enough at the moment because I like to watch late movies and I don’t have any activities early in the morning, so the time is my own to get showered, dressed, breakfast etc at my leisure. But I will keep your strategy in mind if I need to change ๐Ÿ™‚
Gyps – so good to hear that no news is good news for the little leprechaun. ๐Ÿ™‚ Excellent advice as usual for CG, you always know what to say for the best. I’m looking hard in the mirror but all I can see are the streaks that need to be cleaned off…another job!!!!! LOL! Well done on staying in the 85s; woohoo!! Enjoy the visit to family and friends; I have no doubt you will be the life and soul of the party…..God help anyone near the WTF reunion, I think a public warning should be issued!!! ๐Ÿ˜†

Good morning team, good evening Fit. I think I’m a born worrier Fit with those I love and your bed times are your business ๐Ÿ˜€ Now I know your watching movies and relaxing I feel better, I was picturing you doing chores as you days are so busy. Often too, when the adrenilin is on high, sleep seems impossible. Great advise from PH is you ever need to rise early too ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
37 today and 42-3 tomorrow. I’m so over summer already! Xmas day looks like mid 30’s so like PH I’ll be wearing a summer skirt and top, pants do get hot, and I’ll be coming home at the peak of the heat, around 4:00ish to feed Lexie, so should get home around 5:00-5:30. Wont be taking the boys either so “please God, make it a safe day with fires” so hoping it’s a day of joy not worry ๐Ÿ˜‰
Gyps thank you for reading between the lines again, Leah is my Angel, that’s what I call her actually and have done since her birth ๐Ÿ˜ƒ She will handle thing with the inner strength she is capable of and follow every avenue on offer. I’m please to hear the results are good for your o/h, and it’s lovely to have you back home โ˜บ๏ธ congrats on the weigh in too. I’d love some of your hootch, but you have enough on your plate so will wait for our reunion, which I’m just so excited about ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜ƒ
My fast was an “almost” one, I know I was a bit over and didn’t calculate it, I didn’t want the didappointment but down 500g today on yesterday so all’s good. I’m still in the zigzag pattern and have been since Easter, but no gain, just maintenance I guess is better than nothing and certainly better than regaining ๐Ÿ˜ƒ 73-75k but rarely go over and NEVER under grrrrrr, but next year I WILL! it’s funny how size isn’t always in sync with the scales. Our shape is certainly altering, some days bloating other days we can feel quite slim ๐Ÿ˜‰ so be portion conscious team, don’t ruin your Xmas counting cals all the time. Use your eyes, your pro’s now and know what effects you and the scales. You also know an extra fast will undo the bit of damage from xmas pudding ๐Ÿ˜Š so don’t go without, just enjoy. We will all be here next year, back on our path of health, our well being journey is for life and life is for living โ˜บ๏ธ happy day team and stay cool with lots of water xxxxxx

CG – you just can’t turn off that mother hen role, can you? And I love you for it!! I’m afraid I’m far too lazy to be doing chores at that time of the night, so there’s no need to worry. I promise you I have spaced out my chores from now until Christmas and I quite enjoy seeing the house looking its best. My OH does lots of the shopping and all the cooking and various other chores and my younger daughter will be here from Monday on to help. I can’t get my head around how hot it will be for you and I hope there are no idiots being careless with fires. I’m sure you will have a wonderful day with your family and Leah sounds like a chip off the old block – she is a warrior too and will get through this the way her fantastic mum has taught her and shown by example xxxx

You gorgeous girl Fit, as usual, saying all the right things…….feel my cuddles {{{}}} xxx

    Right back at ya, CG {{{{}}}}

Morning folks was just telling Gayle via email that I’ve just spent a lovely hour in the garden……..not worrying about the time or alarms, as my last bus duty was yesterday YEAH. And when it’s afternoon I can just keep on doing whatever I’m doing without interruptions. Well yesterday was not a FD it was a farce of a day! We have a wonderful permaculture farm just out of town & once a month they do a local lunch ie everything comes from within the local area. They had their last lunch for the year so we went & then the bus mob turned on a drinks & nibbles after the last bus run. After that I just kept eating! So today is a FD for me – vital repair work. I still reckon it’s wonderful that a FD will repair the damage & maintain the weight. Even though I’d prefer to lose I still think it’s fabulous that we can can rely on fast days to maintain over such a social/foodie time of year.

Gyps great to hear that you’re enjoying life & that the Leprechaun is stable. What will I do over the hols….ooh so much I want to do Gyps if my old body lets me! Lots of gardening, swimming at the beach & long walks, catching up with friends, cooking up a storm probably. Have wanted for quite a while to make sourdough bread & I reckon now is the time! Down to 85 Gyps attagirl!!
PH so glad you enjoyed wearing your party skirt & top. Yep new town new friends….so almost new clothes eh!
Fit how did your sister’s hairdo go? No funny dramas?!
GG you’re so strong to stick to a FD with even having a sav & a handful of peanuts you still made it. I would have kept on with more glasses & more peanuts.
Doggie loved your definitions. Hope you’re having a wonderful family time! XX

Well that’s it from me folks. Have a great day. suejen XXXX

Gayle in her short shorts at her country store photo IMG_5636.png

CG in her short shorts at her country store with the store owner. sj XX

Funny. I still can’t find the email account that I set up so I hope no one has sent me any emails because I can’t check them!
    Very nice, CG!

Sue you are so right in a fast correcting everything. I had a HUGE carb day Wednesday, fasted yesterday especially after the scales said I was 76.1k grrrrrr, this morning after “clearing” the carbs and all other food in transit, 74.8k and that’s just one fast! I’m so glad your life is yours again, so enjoy every relaxed minute, you just so deserve it.
Yep, short shorts are the only way to go in this weather, plus nobody asks me permission for what they wear! I’m covered and confy, and basically home alone so what the heck! ๐Ÿ˜€ photo’s don’t do justice, well the justice we want, I can see size 12 but lots of loose skin where the 20 odd K came from, oh well, more exercises next year๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
Thanks Sue, really appreciated ๐Ÿ˜‰ xxxxxxx

Oh Up, what a shame, do you remember the address? gmail? google? Did you give the address to someone who can repeat it to you?….good luck ๐Ÿ˜ xxxxx

Hi team. Well our daughter and family eventually arrived at 1.30 am this morning!. Their flight was delayed for four hours out of Melbourne. No public announcements from Jetstar and no apology offered. Have these people ever heard of good public relations? Drive back here in the dark through very rural Tasmania with so many nocturnal animals on the road. Both hubby and I have Roo Shoos on our cars and they really do work as not one animal was killed. Needless to say they are all having a nap this arvo.
I went grocery shopping AGAIN today and saw so many obese people about. It made me more determined than ever to keep on our WOE.
I’m glad you enjoyed the funnies. I love words too. Those Mensa members are so very clever. I’ll scratch about for some more and let you read them.
Barbie for supper. Lovely and warm to hot here. Summer in Australia. What’s not to love.
Fit if I were you I’d be having pheasant on the menu.
    XX Dawg

Hi gang. Lots of post to read, which is great. Wow CG I’ll bet the local store owner was proud to get a nice photo with such a spunky customer. The short shorts look great on you. You must be so proud of what you have achieved. Have to go someone at the door. Back later. FD going well today. 4.28 and on,y a coffee so far. Hope yours is going well SJ.

Yes PH same as you only a coffee so far. 4pm is about my best so let’s see if we make it. Kitchen cupboards finished, venetians done, pantry and laundry cupboards done. Even I might be able to find everything now! I’m due for a rest….not that that all happened today!! But happy that I’m there.
Funny fasting on a Friday…we do get used to our set routines don’t we. But it’s going well which hasn’t always been the case when I’ve had to change days so all good. Sj xxxx

Well done girls. It is difficult on a different day BUT I find fasting on an odd day by chance is often easier than the routine ๐Ÿ˜ does that make sense? I find if I’ve been busy and it gets to around 4:00 and I realise I haven’t eaten, I try and follow through with a fast โ˜บ๏ธ and a low cal meal. You know those days that just get away from you, shopping, appointments etc. stay with it, not long now. Stinking hot here, both air cons going, just about to brave the heat and feed Lexie ๐Ÿ˜ƒ take care team xxxxxx

Feeling good. Just cleaned 8 fans. The portable plug in ones 3 from van, 3 from Studio two in house. Ceiling fans to go. Could not believe the dust . They are such an essential item in this climate. Feeling for you CG in this heat. We have such a beautiful cool breeze in the breezeway it has been great working out there while OH finishes off the top layer at the end. Still only coffee and now 6pm. Wow..can’t believe it. Aquarobics at 8.00 the. Some shopping, home for a rest, then 2 loads of washing, covers from Studio. Then rest then cleaning fans. Will have to do this every fast day…hope you are still going strong SueJen.โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ

Gyps. The 85 K gal!! You really know how to live life to the fullest. Enjoy your trip to Cardwell. Pity you can’t bring your bike to the WTF reunion and take us all for joy rides!!! ๐Ÿ๐ŸThat would certainly be a hoot. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚Maybe not in the middle of the city so probably a good thing. Glad that the leprechaun had positive results. ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€

Fit. Your sleeping pattern is great, must be good having the time to,watch old movies and then get out of bed at your leisure. Talk about getting your priorities right. Love it. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

SueJen. Your day yesterday sounds perfect. What a great community you live in. Where exactly is it. I would live to look it up on the map and then ask my daughter if we went there last time I was over in the west. Your holiday plans sound great too. Nice to have a long break from Bus duty at this time of the year.

UP the email account will turn up out of the blue one day when you least expect it……or not..don’t think it is a problem though as you have let everyone know you can’t find it. ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ’ป it’s a conspiracy to keep us on our toes. Technology keeping us guessing…๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Doggy. Enjoy your family..and no guilts!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿซ๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‰๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿง๐Ÿง๐Ÿท๐Ÿน

    P
H well done girl!! Woohoo, see when your busy, food takes a back seat. I bet you enjoy your well earned dinner. We have had a slight change, Melbourne is now 25 but still 43 on my deck it was sitting on 50 most of the arvo! Although the paddocks are cooler and catch a nice breeze if one is around, so Lexie and the sheep are cooler especially in the sheds which are open or under trees โ˜บ๏ธ
The boys are flaked in front of the air con, they hate the heat. Fortunately I have a ceiling fan over my bed, so we should all sleep well. So off to make a cold meat salad, happy evening team ๐Ÿ˜€…..xxxxx

CG ..that is very very hot. Thank god someone invented air conditioning. I did enjoy my well earned dinner followed by a cup of tea. Then had a slice of watermelon. Finished the day at 435 cals. Very impressed with that. My fast days are certainly getting easier. I must admit when I was shopping I passed a couple of coffee shops and almost weakened early in the day but my Aussie Determination saw me through and I had a sip of water from my water bottle I carry everywhere instead. Great stuff this Aussie Determination.

SueJen. Hope your day went well. What’s the weather like In WA?

Off to the land of Nod๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ’ค..sleep well everyone. Possibly talk to you later Fit, if I wake up as usual at 2am…

    Hi All!
SJ – yes, we have the magic formula now….FDs will repair the overindulgence days and on we go, no harm done!! Thankfully, my sister’s hair appointment went off without a hitch….no police or arrests necessary!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Well done on all the cleaning; it is really satisfying to have things clean and tidy, isn’t it? I did my own bedroom and ensuite yesterday……mass massacre of fluff bunnies!! LOL! Sounds like you are going to have a very active and fun-filled Christmas – I’m sure you won’t miss those bus alarms one little bit!! ๐Ÿ™‚
UP – are you looking for the account you created to collect all our details? I’ll have a look through my old emails and see if I can find it. Hope all well with you and you’re getting to put your feet up!
CG – if I could send a wolf whistle, I would!!! Look at those great legs!! You look terrific! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so glad you have plenty of air con and fans to help with the heat, I think I’d die! Brilliant results on just one fast; how do you do it? You are rocking this wol ๐Ÿ™‚
PH – wow, that’s an amazing amount of work to get through! Did you enjoy the bridge party? Great FD too, well done!! Love to talk in the middle of your night, if you’re awake!! Take care and I hope you sleep well after all your hard work. Xxx
Well, better get my act together and get off to do the weekly housework, shopping etc for my sister. I got stuck into the book I’m reading this morning before I even got out of bed, so I’m running late!! Oooops! Naughty Fit! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Up – the two email addresses I have for you are as follows: your username here followed by zero @gmail.com and the other one is your christian name followed by a full stop followed by your surname (all lowercase and no gaps) – also @gmail.com. I don’t know if that is what you were looking for…I’m not very computer literate!

Good morning team, good evening Fit ๐Ÿ˜Š very warm here but mildly so if that’s possible. Still in for another stinker so heading out early. My hairdryer decided now is a good time to stop! So taking the 20 minute drive into our local town to grab another. It’s one piece of equipment I can’t do without. I wash my hair daily when I shower, love to get my head under water, especially first thing in the morning to help wake me ๐Ÿ˜Œ and love the heat on my back, it helps get me moving.
I’m glad if anything this happened this week and not next. Getting a park will be a headache but next week impossible. You wonder where all these people come from! No I wont be wearing my short shorts, although others will be I’m sure, but they are home type attire for me.
Stay cool team, I think the heat is Australia wide and if possible pace yourself, it is very tiring and seems to zap the energy out of us. I’m very fire aware and have a warning app on my ipad…..as thanks to Telstra, don’t get mobile reception here so no SMS message is available. (Which is the warning system used) You can watch doco’s of third world countries and still see them all talking on mobile phones, yet we are 18k from a main town and can’t get it! They try to tell us it’s the terrane, how ridiculous, a tower would fix that but they wont spend the money. As they are the only carrier in the area we have no choice either. I’m sure they’d miss our money if we could go elsewhere.
GG I hope today goes off with out a hitch for you, relax now the preps are done, so time for you to enjoy ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Have a perfectly relaxing day team, be kind to yourself, you deserve it ๐Ÿค—….xxxxxx
