  • Gyps, I’m with you, maybe the meaning got changed with over use? And yes I will be howling in pain to get a response, if thats what it is……because it doesn’t seem to be letting up. I believe it’s still keyhole, overnight, then 3-4 r&r so another B rest, I haven’t got time for all this muckin’ around, too much livin’ to do!!! Golly I’ll be glad to see the end of this year, and pray the new one is so much better ? for all of us!
Lynkay, welcome to our team, well done on your loss so far. I do weigh most days out of habit and the scales are next to my shower so became routine. It can become an obsession so do what ever you feel best with. Cakes and wine are fine on none fast days, but watch your portion control. We all tend to par take, so you are not alone with that “treat”☺️
I’ve just had a new water tank installed next to my shed which will feed into the new taps in my greenhouses. The new pump is just being hooked up, so now instead of using my house water, the garden will have it’s own supply, so if the almighty sees fit, I’m ready for more rain. We just had some lovely thunder, few shots of lightening, temp drop, then it all stopped, now humid and dry again grrrrr!
I hope your fast is going smoothly for you all, just stay strong, tell yourself off….give yourself a damn good talking to if Saten is tapping you on the shoulder, YOU CAN DO IT, ? your AUSSIE DETERMINATION will work, if you let it…xxxxxxBRING IT ON team xxxxxx

Good evening team.Yes THE TREASURE is back.It is not the computer that has the problem BUT OPTUS! They are investigating my ongoing problem. Believe it or not I have found myself having to use strong words to them even threating to move to another carrier if they do not sort out this problem . 4 mths is along time to keep having the internet drop out with no time to back up my work. We will see!.
WELCOME TO THE NEW MEMBERS. You have picked a winner by joining our AUSSIE DETERMINATION THREAD.
ALSO you are more than welcome to join us on the WTF reunion in March. Be quick if you are interested as accommodation is scarce at this time in Sydney March 16- 21st 2016.
You will not be disappointed if you join us.
No matter what I do I am still 75kgs But the positive side is losing the inches in those other areas like tummy and upper abdo.
Off to Sydney tomorrow …staying at the “OAKS” so hopefully will have lots of positive things to say abpout our WTF accommodation.
GYPSY- you make me LOL very often and I send you LOLxxxxx
CG- A gall stone! no wonder the pain would not subside . Any food containg fat would have sent the gall in to spasm….. Poor you! love on wings xxx
Will catch up with you all next week ….All the very best ….GO GALXXXXXX

Hi all, another day of numerous posts. Everybody chatting today..
Noots. Do you think that we well need to get an opal card before we go down to the reunion. Is that what you use for all public transport in NSW now..pensioners too?

Doggy. The joys of living rural …getting cut off if it rains a lot. ⛈?⛈?⛈?Had thought we had left that behind when we moved off the acerage but now still get cut off in both directions and can’t get to the little shop in village..oh well we’ve had plenty of practice at making do with what’s in the cupboard, as I’m sure you have..great that all the tanks are full though.

LynKay. Furthermore referred to by me as LK. Welcome. You are doing well and what a great idea getting the 250cal meals from Lite & easy. Great loss so far. Keep it up. Once a week in the scales is the go.

CG well at least you know what the tummy troubles are now…hopefully it can be treated without surgery. Like gyps not sure what they do these days so I guess treatment options will be forthcoming. Good luck. And congratulations on finding the 3…awesome ???

Gyps. You are really throwing everything at that mould. Go you girl…

    Just saw the next page.

GG. Welcome back..missed your posts. Optus can be sketchy but if you were getting strong signal then they must have changed something…keep the strong words going till you get some satisfaction???
CG hopefully this latest setback is the last for you for a while. Forced rest is something that you will find hard now that you are so mobile again. ??????. You will have to get Doggy to send you some of her rain for your new tank.. Hope the rest of your Fast Days go will. ???

HEY PC …..you won’t need an opal card. Everything is so close. Trust me …love GO GALxxx

Hi all, Suejen I live in Port Stephens, which is north of Newcastle NSW and a lovely spot to retire to. Gypsy I don’t know whether you are serious or not, but I was told that LOL means laugh out loud, so nothing rude thank goodness.
Gearing up for another fast day tomorrow. Not so busy, just line dancing for two hours, so I will try to do some patchwork in the morning. The time flies by when I start sewing. Looking for a good machine to handle paper piecing as my Janome is struggling a bit these days. Any preferences? Any patchworkers or quilters out there?

    LIttle Miss Suckafinger photo IMG_5366_zpsx8oiuvto.jpg

Just testing this out with the tech guys. Don’t worry if it doesn’t work. sj XX

Huh did work! SO I titled that one Little Miss Suckafinger of course it’s CG and Lexie. Cute as!

Oh thank you Suejen, I appreciate your effort ? xxxxxxx

    Hello, testing, testing…..

Hello everybody, the old mate Gypsy has finally got me on the road to a slimmer self. Down to the size of just one of me. I have shed those other bodies living with me several times, but the bitches keep finding me. Well, I have yet to read all about my new way of life instead of diet number 721.

Hope to meet you all in Sydney and looking forward to getting to know everybody on line.

Gypsy gets me into a lot of her schemes…mostly with me kicking and screaming, and this probably won’t be any different. She pours her alcoholic brews down my neck and I am putty in her hands.

Well, that’s all from me until I know what I’m in for.

    Hi all,

New faster, but long considered giving it a go. Only 2 weeks in but so far so good. I’m hopeful of getting good results and losing the extra 8kgs I’ve been carrying around.

My fast days are Monday and Thursday, which seems to be working for me. Any hints and tips for no players gratefully accepted.

    Lee

Hi gawdmother and welcome, I do see you blaming our Gypsy but think of the fun you would have missed without her.? We will certainly help you aboard and into our team on this wonderful journey. Any question, just ask and we will be there. This will be your last attempt at losing weight and staying healthy, we have all proven that in our own little way…IT WORKS ? and I’m really looking forward to meeting you with our Gyps in Sydney ?
Lee and welcome to you too, have you read the book yet, it answers so many questions for you. We can answer through experience. It is an easy path to follow and you never think diet, it’s a way of
life and eating. Welcome to our AUSSIE DETERMINATION team too ?
And girls THINK POSITIVE ☺️☺️☺️ xxxx

    Hi All!
Very wild weather here this morning – no rain at the moment but the wind has all the trees around me doing some ballroom dancing!! Lovely to look at when I’m nice and warm indoors but not looking forward to having to go out later to run some errands. We’ve never been cut off by floods but had a few times when only the foolhardy would venture out in large snowdrifts – very dangerous, icy roads and no snow tires!
CG – Sorry to hear about your gall stone but hope you can follow Gypsy’s excellent advice and get it all sorted before Christmas xx. Love the photo of you and Lexie – so cute and adorable…..and Lexie looks lovely too!! 😉 Well done on being in the 73s too – woohoo!!
Gyps – Oh gosh, I’m ROFL at you sending lol to the grandies for years – good job it didn’t mean anything rude!! I’m sure they took it the way you intended it anyway xx. Wow, you are like a cleaning machine; I had no idea of the practical problems that come with your climate – just goes to show how little I know!! Well done on all the great advice for CG – I totally agree 🙂 I wish your broomstick could get me to the WTF – I’m so sad to be missing it 🙁
SJ – I don’t think I have that much energy in comparison to some of other ADers. Remember, I’m retired (early) and have few other commitments. I take my hat off to all of ye who are working and doing lots of other activities, exercise classes etc. I’m glad you have had sound advice in preparation for meeting your SIL. It’s very wise to have an exit strategy to protect yourself in case things take a negative turn. But I’m hopeful that this will be a way forward for you all and be something you can build on for a better future relationship. I will keep you in my thoughts on Saturday and send good vibes over the airwaves xxxx
GG – way to go girl…kick some a** until you get proper internet service!! Let’s hope you are able to post regularly again now. Have a great time in Sydney and best of luck with the research for the WTF tour! 🙂
Lynkay – welcome and well done on your loss so far, excellent result! Have you worked out your TDEE? (see the HOW IT WORKS heading at the top of this page). This will tell you how many calories you can eat on non-fast days and you can build in your treats to suit that. Best of luck and keep posting here – we’ll all help to keep you on track 🙂
PH – hope all is going well with you. Thank you for your kind comments as always – you never fail to say something nice to everyone xx
Noots – Hope you had a great time at the line dancing – it’s great fun. Can’t help on the quilting front – I’ve no talent in that driection…maybe SJ has some ideas? Have a great day xx
Lots of boring paperwork ahead for me today – just filing and recording payments for my OH’s business – I hate it but can’t keep putting it off forever!! Happy fasting or portion control – whatever your day brings, ADers!

Hi Gawdmother – so thrilled to have you on board! Any mate of Gypsy’s is a mate of ours!! While some of Gypsy’s antics might have lead you astray in the past, this one is not something you will regret!! I’m sure you will have great success and the WTF tour will be a blast!! Enjoy the ride….never a dull moment with Gypsy I’m sure!! 🙂
Lee – you’re most welcome too. You will pick up lots of tips and advice here, so read all the posts and keep checking in here every day. Look at the HOW IT WORKS section at the top of this page to find out how many calories you are allowed on non fasting days. This way of life (wol) is a marathon, not a sprint – some weeks you lose, some you don’t; but stick with it and you will succeed!

Hi Fit, how strange this is being on the other side of the globe to each other…you are here when I go to bed and you’re her when I get up ? you are usually my first message each day and I love it, thank you, oh and for the lovely comment too ☺️ Rest assured I’m not playing with this pain, I’ll be chasing it up for sure, nothing is going to ruin the reunion for me OR Xmas if I can help it……I don’t think it’s diet related as I don’t eat many fatty things, and if I have chocolate, it doesn’t seem to effect me. I think it could be calcium deposits and I do take extra calcium (cause of age…buggar) so it might be self inflicted, but I’m no doctor so just guessing. ? and it’s not continuous, it lets up for ages then just hits! I did see the size of it when he was doing the scan this morning, calling it “an intruder” to me it’s a black grey and white screen, fortunately with titles on it as I wouldn’t know what I was looking at! But the guy who did it explained everything I was seeing ?
Stay safe with that weather you’re having, fallen trees cause so much damage….to human life too. Well my coffee mug is empty so must be bed time, nighty nite…night team….good luck with your weigh in ? xxxxxxxx

Thank you CG. Started reading the book and will get back to you on my new perspective on the amount of time between meals. This fasting business will work once the old stomach gets smaller.

I have no longer got the internet at home, so will have to go to the library in town thirty klms away to keep up with what you are all up to.

Back at the farm, we have a calf that will have to be weaned off early because she is stealing milk from another cow with a new calf. Anyway good night.

Well what a lot of action tonight. Hello gawdmother. Nice to be talking to you. Looking forward to meeting you in Sydney. What a lot of fun you and Gyps must have, and I imagine quite a bit of quality control for her brews. Would like to participate in some of them myself?????.

Suejen, good to get your email. Feel free to post the photo I sent you if you can manage it. Not sure it will be in the right format. Nice photo of CG and Lexie ..

Noots. I purchased a Berina sewing machine 40 years go and it is still going strong. Have used it so much to make all sorts of things including camping gear, surf board covers and boat covers to name a few , as well as the fine sewing like appliqué and dressmaking. Don’t know about quilting as I have not started doing that yet. I have always had it regularly serviced and that makes quite a difference. I guess they don’t make them as strong as they used to but they are amazing. Expensive though. I am hoping it will last me out…

Lee. Welcome to Aussie Determination. I have found the support on the Forum invaluable. It is good to think of it not as a diet as such as CG mentioned. The best part about it is that you don’t feel deprived like you do on. Diet. You can still have the treats etc on the non fast days as long as you don’t go overboard on them everyday. ?????? You will find the Fast Days get easier each time you do one. Most of us use a program called My Fitness Pal to work out how many calories you are eating. I think Doggy uses a different tool though. Again..Welcome aboard.

Fit. Can’t imagine driving in snowfalls. Very scarey….

Had a lovely day today having lunch with old workmates. It was good to catch up with them all but have no regrets about retiring. Great massage from my osteopath. And then getting into the hydro pool to heat the old body through and gentle exercise after the session. Time for bed ??????

So hello from me, sorry I’m late, but have let the Gawdmuther use my computer to read up on posts and meet you all. She is now tucked up in the guest quarters (a caravan out back)reading my copy of ‘the book’. We are both heading out for the big smoke early tomorrow, so it’s still quickie posts from me. But. Oooo! dearies! My shack positively shines! I am exhausted, but very proud of myself. I will have a good Summer now, bludging in the air conditioning. The Gawdmuther arrived in time for drinks and dinner (roast chicken and veg) on the deck and made note of the glittering surrounds.

Heh, heh, and while we are on the subject, it ain’t me wot leads ‘er astray! She has a direct line to my funny bone and you would all do well(on the WTF tour) to wear panty liners if troubled with stress incontinence! I must tell you our friendship has weathered 2 divorces apiece, raising kids and hell, among other impossibilities. But perhaps the one true test of our friendship was about 38ish yrs ago when I was a student nurse and she was a patient, post op, from a bladder repair. I removed her catheter without letting the balloon down. Faaaaarrk! I am still sorry! And she is still my friend. Ta for making her welcome.

Lynkay, welcome, you are doing well and this is the place to be for support and continued success. We have fun, but no one loses sight of the main goal: better health and less lard!

Noots, trust me, I’m the serious sort! Lol….. so glad it wasn’t worse!

CG, love your little moo-er. But don’t you get bumped now. You are between a rock and hard place with escalating pain and dependant farm animals. Don’t push the pale too far.

Fit trying to picture you in the cold while I sweat. I know dreams are in technicolour and do-able in my air conditioned bedroom, but they wither to black and white necessities when the sun rises in Oz. Hope we do meet one day.

Have to go to bed now. Catch U when I can, xxxGyps

    Hi Gawdmother

bejesus – I would dearly love to get over to meet you – and everyone else of course, I get the feeling Gyp is the sister I should have had – got 5 sisters already, not one of them ever ‘got’ me.

Oh well, I’m sure there will be many more reunions and I might get to one – haven’t asked for my Christmas pressie though yet ……………..

CG, wow, on this thread full of medical folk I can contribute to a medical thingy – yay!!! that’l be a first and a last!

You may remember I had my gall bladder out the other week, now of course the Uk may do things differently – I never really had symptoms – none that I attributed to anything other than a dick tummy – but the fat forty female and flatulant wasn’t too far off the mark (flatulance only in the last year!!) but I had the episode that lasted over 24 hours – at the hospital they wanted to know the score – I said ten – they asked how it compared to childbirth – now, quick summary of my only experience of childbirth – grew 8 lb fibroid – waters broke at 8 months – in hospital – sent home – infection – stuck baby – forceps – broken coccyx which still gives me constant pain – burst blood vessels in eyes – scared some kiddies when I was wheeled down for a scan – in hospital for two weeks after birth – boy was the pain from the gall bladder MUCH MUCH worse than any of that – twice a bad. I traveled for 4 hours in that pain in a tiny car just to get to a local hospital, as we were away from home when it started.

Anyway, strongly advised to get it out – keyhole surgery – out of hospital the day after surgery – my first idea that I would be standing at an Antiques fair the next day was a tad too ambitious – took me about 4-5 weeks to get over it, though was up from day one and working – took a bit longer for tum to settle – coffee can send me to the loo still, one or two other things at first – now I can eat anything, and – forgive the info – don’t have loose motions.

Not the same for everyone, neighbour is still in pain after 5 years and takes loo paper when she takes the dog for a walk – she didn’t say why but it makes you think!

But I would recommend it – tiny scars which I think will fade. Interesting that apparently stones are a cause of weight gain – but after the gall bladder is removed losing weight may be a problem. I’m not losing much but I am losing. And I feel great – was surprised it too so long for me to feel 100% but I’m really well – and I’ve stopped farting!!!

    Hope that helps.

Good morning team, hehe, thanks Milena for the description of what you have been through. No wonder you only had one child after all that, it would put anyone off having any more. And I’m not going through anywhere near the pain you did. I do have a pretty high tolerance but still nothing as bad as you. I can go from nothing to stabbing griping pains in minutes, no food ingestion or any reasonable cause. It makes it difficult to find a trigger. I had been convincing myself it’s muscular from aerobices etc not wanting it to be anything else. I find my pain is on the left rather than the right, and feels behind the ribs around the diaphragm
area in fact many days need to take my bra off as it’s so painful. It also seems like colic in the tummy with someone with a little knife stabbing me……I believe the pain can radiate in all direction and be different from one person to the next. I even thought aneurism but all was clear. I just hope they suss out what it is and get me over these attacks. If the gall bladder needs to come out, take it, but have never understood why God gave us so many spare parts and usually ones which cause problems ?
Good morning Fit, I hope your weather settled a bit especially if you had to go out in it.
I am up extra early today, not aerobics, but the NBN (national broard band) man is coming to install it. Rotten ETA 8:00-12-00… Long wasted morning. We don’t get mobile service here, why the hell would we need this? We are such a small community, around 200, and urgently need mobile service, but telstra keep ignoring our pleas, and they are the only carrier in this area. They would miss our money if we could ALL go elsewhere, so fire warnings through SMS totally miss us here in the country!
Anyway off to shower so I don’t get caught, just incase I’m first on the list….good luck with your weigh in team, Gyps I hope you and gawdmuther have a fun time and stay out of trouble…chat soon team ? xxxxxxx

Hi all, one quarter through my fd. Been sewing but it was going wrong so I’m taking a break. Love reading all your messages. Re the opal card, you can use it now but it actually comes into effect on 1.1.16. I would recommend that all pensioner visitors to NSW get one, it’s easy on line. I had no trouble using mine for the first time yesterday. The ferry ride was a bit bumpy as it was a windy day but still fun. Lots of walking to and from my friend’s unit and her sea view is delightful. Early lunch today as line dancing is on.

Mornin’ CG – just love the way you always remember to greet me with the relevant time of day taken into account – you’re so thoughtful xx. Weather settled a little here, enough for me to go for spontaneous coffee with my sister-in-law in the local village! There is a storm warning for tonight, though – so I’ll be glad to be tucked up in bed when it hits!
Milena – what a hoot you are and what an hilarious account of your medical history!! 😆 Glad you came out the other side and are able to laugh about it now. 🙂

Noots – hope your sewing turns out ok and enjoy the dancing 🙂

Actually it didn’t put me off – I had a fallopian infection at 19 and was told I couldn’t have children – its was a surprise to become pregnant at 38!

I remember going to the doctor when I was about 44 – asked what contraception I used, I said nowt – the doctor then had a good go at me for being so stupid!!!!

I told her if I got pregnant it would be most welcome – then she had another go at me! I thought better than to mention I was almost through the menapause!

Sweet dreams Fit, perfect night for bed listening to a storm ?
Milena, I bet she shook in her shoes when she saw you on her list ?
Today Lexie is 1.1 week old and starting to learn a few manners. No nudging Mum, no head butting Mum definitely no kicking Mum (hasn’t happened yet) but manners are so important with an animal that will out weigh me many times over, and above all, when the bottle is empty, nudging Mum doesn’t being more milk down (as it does in cows?)…I love her to pieces, but she is a big calf, very strong already and intelligent so learning from the beginning what is allowed and what is not is imperative for my own safety and the harmony of our relationship ☺️
Quite drizzly today, doesn’t seem to be clearing, my handy man came and went, still downpipes etc to finish for my tank so may come back after lunch. He’s wonderful, a two day job could end up being five as he does so many extras for me, tap washes, leaking taps in the calf shed, float on water trough etc, all hubby jobs which are a bit beyond me. My Dad always did those things for me so never learnt. I do cope surprisingly well on what I do know, or make up as I go along ? a general love of animals and gardens are the same, just on a bigger scale!
How did you all go with your weigh in,? I didn’t fast yesterday, might do a semi till dinner, but back up to 74.5k so better than expected, but the weekend will zigzag up to 75k I guess bloody scales, and I often wonder how far over 100k I was in the beginning had I of started on a different day? We all see the zigzag ?
Happy day team, pressure is now off for most of us, noots, I’ve never heard of the Opal card, so will look into it, and good idea walking away for a while if things aren’t working, hang in on your fast, don’t let the frustration beat you ? xxxxxxx

Hello everyone. Welcome to you new members. CG so it’s gall stones , ouch! No my day it was invasive abdominal surgery but I think they use some far less invasive approach these days. Yeh do as Gyps advises. Put on some melodrama if you have it and see if they can fit you in sooner.
Suejen I also enjoy rereading some books. As you say one often picks up something that was missed in tr first read. I’ve read The secret keeper and few times as I think it’s so clever. Yes I live in a fairly remote area of Tassie. If you have Google earth, look up St. Helens on the NE coast. We are about 10 kilometres from there. It has its drawbacks but is a beautiful place and we just love it. When we retired we could almost choose to live anywhere in Oz but wanted to be near the sea and this is where we landed up. Have never regretted it.
Despite two successful fast days, my weigh in was a disappointment. Maybe my scales are jammed on 70. OR that damn gremlin is still lurking there. Not to be disheartened I’m planning to keep on keeping on.
    XX Doggy
Oh how could I forget. We had almost two inches of rain yesterday. Tanks full and the garden is very happy.
    ?⚓️?☔️?????

Morning Team lovely day & heading to 30 today here in the west. Most important info first before I reply to posts. Daughter cancelled/postponed the meeting yesterday & says meet in Jan but can we meet before Christmas to exchange pressies for the kids. Sorry to misuse our favourite abbreviation but…….WTF??!! So today we send back an email saying something like You know where we live. If you’re serious about wanting to talk come & find us. Pressies/grandchildren will have to wait. Not playing any more games. Enough said. I’m fine with it so onto brighter subjects.
As to FD well mine got smashed when the email arrived & I went into emotional eating mode (gobble gobble gobble!) so today I’m up. Never mind next week will fix that up for sure.
Doggie I too re-read the Secret Keeper & think it’s a beauty. Just looked up St Helens & think we went there in about 2000/2001 on our Tassie trip. Pretty sure. Lovely area not surprised you love it.
CG thank goodness you have such a wonderful handyman to do all those jobs. Hope he doesn’t sting you re his charges but sounds like he’s more generous than anything! Just what you need. Makes no sense that you’re having someone from the NBN network do work when you don’t get any coverage…unless this will provide you with some??
Milena your story sounds like my MIL. She’d had 3 boys & then 15 years later went to the dr about her menopause symptoms & the dr said actually you’re pregnant! She was mid/late 40’s I think. They got the daughter they had always wanted!
Gyps how you and the Gawdmuther ever became friends! after that little episode is beyond me!!! But obviously you’ve weathered many a storm together. Great to have her online last night. Gawd (for short unless someone has a better suggestion?) you’re very welcome here! Hope you’re reading that book furiously & taking it all in.
Oh PH you go to an osteopath? I’ve been considering it for the back & neck with my osteoporosis. You find it pretty good? I’ve always been a physio girl but my physio has not been very helpful of late – no ongoing exercises or the like to keep me mobile. Pilates once a week with her has helped a lot but I need more.

Well must go & post a photo of PH so you can all see how gorgeous she looks. And I hope the system is kind to me again like yesterday…I just never know! Then onto the dressmaking. Will post a pic once the first outfit is finished. Not too far away.
enjoy your feed days team but do remember your PC (portion control) or how MANY treats you’re treating yourself to!! suejen XXXX

Hi team, NBN hook up could stop my internet for a few days as telstra have nor sent my new modem!!! So might not me back till next week ? xxxxxx

Suejen what a bloody shame but so proud of your reply, good on you girl…no more damn games and pulling strings! Above all, don’t let this cause atmosphere at home, wipe your hands of it all and start living “your” life again ? you have grandies to hug you and make pretty clothes for, I realise one doesn’t replace another and that void will be there, but not at such and emotionally black mailed cost! How dare they grrrrr, golly I’ll be emotionally eating for you soon, I’m so bloody cross!!! Cuddles to you xxxx
The tech here got it wrong, I phoned telstra and I wont lose my internet in the change over, another tech coming Wednesday to install next new modem with no interruption, all this modern stuff, I said to this tech, it would take me back to the 60’s just a landline and the telly….and we managed quite well with less pressure ?.

Suejen, yes my handyman is great, been coming for 12-18 months now for a simple job and we keep finding more as well as home improvements. He fits me in between his other jobs as he doesn’t charge me full price so it’s the same hourly rate no matter what he does. Sure it’s adding up, but a lot is for my safety, ideas he comes up with too, just making things easier or safer for me, down to slider tap handles outside ? in case I get arthritis in the future in my hands……yeah I do get to feel old at some of his suggestions, but laugh and appreciate it ?
Doggy, fancy all that rain! Wow. Our drizzle didn’t give much, just nuisance value and enough wet ground for the boys to dirty my floors with muddy paws. I do wipe their feet but they are “fluffy” so the wet mud still comes in. I just let it dry then sweep it of, easy.
I’ve got the hungries so ready for lunch. ? xxxxxxx

Oh Suejen WTF indeed. Life can deal out some bum steers at times. Do stay strong. My son has the most acrimonious relationship with his ex. She’s remarried and he has a new partner but she just makes life hell for him. Every holiday or when it’s his turn to have the kids she comes up with some new drama. This has been going on for years. It’s a form of child abuse if you ask me ask me. The kids just don’t want to hear anything derogatory about either of their parents.
Noots I don’t do all that much sewing anymore but was a patchwork, quitting addict for a good few years. I have a Pfaff sewing machine. It’s probably 15 years old and as good as new. Mind you I always look after my gizmos very carefully. I’m not saying you don’t. But some people are very carelss with their possessions and then wonder why they don’t last.
XX Dawg ?????????????. Ei Ei Oh. – reminds me of a tour guide we did a trip with in Italy last year. He sung Old McDonald had a farm to us in Italian together with all the animal noises. This was after a boozy night out. It was hilarious.

Meet PurpleHats & canadian grandson! Here she is in the flesh. sj XX

Dawg your italian boozy night out with accompanying animal noises sounds like such a hoot! Reminds me a bit of the bnb we stayed at in Tuscany. I only had a little italian she had no english. We used phrase books mostly but she tried to teach me some more italian. Found out later after trying out some of her words on others that she had a speech impediment!!! Very funny. Other funny story from there was when we went to a nearby restaurant one night (only building in the town really). No menu practically no english. Did manage to glean it was seafood night – you get what you get. Lots of newspaper clippings all over the walls re the wonderful restaurant. The menu was endless & the dishes just kept on coming until you said no. Tried snails & other sea stuff we had no idea what it was. Funniest part was the chef…a big german lady who liked guys that could eat all her food. OH has a pretty big appetite & when she came out to retrieve the empty plates she would smile at him approvingly AND rub her ample bosom up against him. Then she’d shuffle out to the kitchen to rustle up the next course! I wasn’t so approved of…I gave in early (and I was female)!! Only one diner that night made it to the end of the menu. And after all that we found out it was cash only & we had no cash. No worries…domani domani…tomorrow…as they pointed down the road to where we were staying. Ha what a night. And of course the grappa & the limoncello & whatever came out with each course. We wobbled our way home laughing. sj XX

    Hello everyone,

never cease to be amazed at the amount of post for just one day.

Sujen my heart goes out to you re the disappointment after you put so much thought into how you were going to deal with the situation. It is great that you have the courage to stand up for yourself, must have been very hard for you to do so Hugs to you for being brave. ((?)) I was right, I did get the photo you sent via email when I opened it on the computer. Beautiful little girl. OH not so bad either!!Thank you for posting photo of me and my handsome little grandson ( i am biased of course). Certainly see all of the laughter lines up that close. Would love to see a photo of you on here now!!Transfer done so let me know if there are any problems. I m one very lucky person who has the most wonderful man and his wife looking after me. He is a Qualified Osteopath and a Qualified Chiropractor(Many years of study) and she is a Physiotherapist with extra qualifications in Sports Injury. Between them they have kept me moving for the past 20 or so years. He gives the most wonderful therapudic massage, uses ultrasound to release muscle tightness and does pressure point adjustments along with the very occasional adjustment but NEVER to the lower back. I have told him he is never to retire. He is in Grafton and i go to him once a month regularly and the massage keeps everything from ceasing up. Along with that they would have to be the most caring couple I have met, phone you at home to see how you are going after opertions etc, even did a home visit out to the little farm a couple of times when I could not get in to see him. Love him to bits..Started going to him when I was having bad problems with my neck which resulted in a medically referred breast reduction.

Your Italian story is great, as was yours Doggy …such wonderful things happen at the most unexpected times.Such wonderful memories to look back on.

Keep heart Doggy, I am on a Plateau at the moment too do not seem to be able to get under the 100KG mark. Guess the scales have not been under it for such a long time that they have forgotten the 90’s and lower are there. It is frustrating when you try so hard???..however have almost completed another Fast Day,to make up for the one I missed yesterday and been to the pool again today so somethings gotta give!!!!! . have not weighed this week but really feel bloated so not expecting much.We Will Do This though and it will start coming off soon and we will be laughing again ???

??? Need to use this more — more metamucil called for I guess.

Melena. Love your story, maybe thats what I need ..farting is a constant problem. My lovely Osteo told me yesterday that it is a sad arshole that cannot express itself with a good tune, after mine played a chorus when getting onto the table.

Going to post now before I lose everything. Another storm coming. We just had 18 points in 15 minutes about n hour ago and here it comes again.

CG – Your handyman is an absolute gem. I really need one like him to do all the jobs OH keeps saying he will do and never gets around to. Oh well –cant have everything!!

Ph love the photo, what a lovely looking lady you are. And still laughing at your story. The noise does come at the most embarrassing time ? I have been going to osteopaths for years and swear by them. If I moved, I would always find one or look for a sports and spinal clinic. They always give a good lengthy appointment, as chiro’s are about 10 minutes at the same price ?. It is a chiro I see down here as I would get relief but still prefer the ostio ?
It’s a nice idea having a pic of the grand kids, that’s something we could follow up on too. My semi fast is well over, had a grazing arvo. I bought some beautiful ginger marmalade but it was oh so thin and watery, so re cooked it, added pectin and some lemon juice, of course had to taste it, perfect. By the time I got it to the fridge, I’d had it with 4 rice cakes and (almost) sliced butter with it.mmmmmmmm So the week end has started. BRING IT ON ? typing this with my bourbon and zero at my side too. Xxxx

CG & grandson Brody 13 today photo IMG_5202.jpg

Here you get to see CG front on with her GS Brody who’s 13 today! XX Hope that bourbon & zero’s tasting pretty darn good CG.

Suejen thankyou, this kid has a lovely soft nature and does love his Nanny
Hay Doggy 200 for Warner, what a fantastic game ????
Okay back to the cricket in Perth and my drink ? xxx

Blew my FD with ice cream and blueberrys. Just craved something sweet after dinner. Ended up at about 700 Cals instead of 500 .oh well that will teach me to think I can do it on a Friday. Friday is always drinkies, managed to forgo my pre dinner drinks only to come undone after dinner. Thems the breaks. Will enjoy the weekend and get back into routine next week. Not going to bother weighing as I know I will be disappointed.

What a spunk you have for a grandson CG. It is plain to se he loves his nanny who is also looking sharp.

Hey, all, Back from the big smoke. The Leprechaun’s MRI is done. Now we wait for Brisbane docs to review it and, hopefully, get on with looking forward to life. The Gawdmuther is on her own mission (to spoil her grandkids in the city) hopefully, She’ll be passing through again on Monday.

Suejen, I appreciate how hard it is to keep getting kicked in the teeth no matter how hard you try. Kids get to know our triggers and sometimes being a walkover is playing into their hands. Onyou for standing firm. Stay on your own axis and don’t let them spin you out. It’s your strength they need to trust. Even if it is against their mood of the moment. No matter what the experts say in theory, it is not so easy to be clinical in practice and in the end your honest, knee jerk reactions to their behaviour is what an ADULT offspring needs. Stiff cheddar if it doesn’t stroke their ego. Who will tell them the truth if you do not?
They do know where you live and it’s time they accepted responsibility of being the support YOU need! This is the family concept we have lost since the advent of welfare and pension payments. Being cross with yourfamily is a luxury one can indulge in now. so it cuts both ways. You will never get them back with subterfuge. Just be yourself and the little blighters will learn something about respect. Be the happiest family unit you can be with what’s left (without them) and you can bet the weak link will gravitate to the best example. Your grandkids will come home as long as they know they are welcome. So go, give them their presents. Ignore your daughter’s histrionics, let the kids see calm waters beyond the storm they are in the middle of.

So easy for someone else to say, I know, and so hard to actually live through, but when our children ARE the storm, we are the eye they gravitate around. So don’t become part of their Chaos! Actions have consequences. The ball is definitely in her court. Treat your gandkids as separate entities. Luck

Milena (cackle) Godstrewth! We may have to pass the hat or sent the broom! Such a scallywag as yourself would be sooo ‘dditional’ to the general madness of WTF! To be sure we’ll have a gene or two in common. Your graphic descriptives of Gaul bladder dysfunction, from a patient’s point of view, would be invaluable to the rookie theorists! Would so love to meet you.

I have to post this , even tho I’ve lost the general plot and missed the deserving, I’m really dead on my feet. So appreciate all of you. xxxzzzzzzzzzzzzzz gyps

    Hi All!
Wow!! What alot of posts! Either a feast or a famine!!! Prefer the feast of course!! 🙂
CG – my sister, who is married to an accountant who is not at all handy, tells all her nieces to find a man who can mend and do practical things about the house – she says it’s by far the most important quality to find in a man!! We joke that at least she found a man who can afford to pay a handyman!! 😉 How wonderful and thoughtful that your guy is helping you to prepare for future needs before it becomes an emergency situation. Living on your own, that must give you great peace of mind. Love the photo you (what a glamorous granny!) and your GS is a very handsome young chap indeed. Happy birthday to him 🙂
SJ – my heart goes out to you ((( ))). However, that counselling and preparation did not go to waste, as can be seen by your resilience and resolve not to enter into your daughter’s games and you are protecting yourself….good for you!! Can I suggest you have cards and pressies ready in case she springs a visit in order to embarrass you in front of the grandies; or have money in an account for them and cards to show them in the future if things drag on – then you can show them that you always remembered their birthdays and Christmas. Well done on posting the photos – you are becoming our tech expert!! Look after yourself, dear pal xxxx
PH – how lovely to see you in the flesh, so to speak!! You are a very good looking lady and your GS is an absolute dote!! You have certainly been through the mill with pain and health issues but I’m so glad to hear that you have good people looking after you.
Doggy – sounds like you have your own little corner of paradise!! I completely agree with you about the children who get caught up in the middle of family rifts – it’s so unfair on them. We had buckets of rain here over the last 24 hours too and it is still quite windy still today….we’re getting the tail end of a storm that hit the British Isles over the last 48 hrs….brrrrr!
I had a big pause while writing my post as I had to abandon the computer to let the plumber in to work in my sister’s apartment so it’s now mid-afternoon and I have no chores done!! Have a wonderful weekend everyone and check in with your progress and news 🙂

Gyps – Your post arrived while I was in the middle of mine. Hope your leprechaun gets the best possible results Xx. Enjoy the return of the Gawdmother …..sounds like a sequel to a film “The Gawdmother Part 2”!!! 😆 What a film some of your exploits would make – please write your memoirs so that they can be made into a movie. I’m imagining Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis doing another ‘Thelma and Louise’ type film playing you and Gawdmother – that would be something to see!!!! 😉

Gyps. You certainly are one very deep thinking lovely lady, full of sensible comments regarding life’s choices and such a straight forward, no nonsense l way of being able to communicate them to others. The many faces of our Gyps is something I am very much looking forward to meeting, along with Gawd of course. I completely agree that gut feeling is something we all should act on, and tough love, whilst keeping the love flowing and the door always open in family situations. And I agree Fit that the life of Gyps, Zelda and Gawd would make a great movie! Good luck with the test results for the leprechaun.

Fit, thanks for the lovely comments, and yes I just love those big brown eyes looking into mine in my very interesting conversations with GS. Even on Skype.
I am lying here in the middle of the night just listening to the rain on the roof until I can get back to sleep.
.????..beautiful sound. Your weather event is probably not quite that calming. And thinking how very fortunate I am…so blessed. Getting drowsy again.. Nite nite again all.???

Good morning team, evening Fit. I agree with your sister, having a man who is capable of using a hammer etc saves so many arguments AND money ☺️ and it doesn’t seem as common these days as so many are computer wise but all thumbs with tools. My handyman was born in Ireland, his parents migrated here from Belfast in the early 70’s during all the troubles..having three sons felt it safer to get them away. He’s very thoughtful, and having been here pre my op, knows what I have been through AND going through post op, He is often my one man cheer squad with my exercises, especially when I added the new classes to my routine ?. He’s late 40’s, just a tad older than my two “kids” 6′ tall and divorced, pitty about the age, he could be a good catch!? I must admit, I still cant get used to the language that generation use, it’s part of their vocabulary rather than swearing.! I try very hard to accept and ignore it ?
Beautiful clear morning here, so hoping to get on my beloved rideon after some house work, before settling in front of the cricket, without guilt!
Have a lovely day, it’s your day team, time to live without regrets, we are only here for a short time so lets make our mark and enjoy every possible minute. We all do our best as people, Mothers, friends with Christian beliefs, never to hurt intentionally, and I believe, don’t leave any stone unturned with opportunity and never look back with “what if’s” or regrets, smile at your past experiences, remember them fondly, and get out and be YOU..? xxxxxxxxxxxx

Mornin CG! 🙂 Have a great time with getting your chores done in time to watch the cricket guilt-free! You would get on famously with my OH – he is addicted to cricket! Your handyman’s parents did him a great favour getting him out of Belfast at that time – no young man was safe on any side of the troubles. It was an horrific time for all concerned. Just heard that my nephew is in Paris this evening very close to where a terrorist attack took place, 26 dead and many more injured. He went over for the weekend with his girlfriend. They were close by when the blast happened – my blood ran cold when I heard; but thank God they are safe.
PH – hope the weather lulled you to sleep and that you wake up refreshed and in control of the pain. Your GS could probably get away with anything using those gorgeous eyes to hypnotise his gran!! 🙂

Hi Fit, our news was always full of the happenings in Belfast back then and of course now the terrorists. It’s so sad when just a hand full of radicles can hold so many to ransom. We do have to get on with our lives, best we can no matter where we live, but that’s easy to say living over here, far away from all the troubles.
    Sweet dreams xxxxxx

Hello, everyone. Well I should be saying “oink oink” instead of “woof woof” . I’m on my own for a few days as hubby is OS working in PNG. This morning I cooked myself an overindulgent large brunch. Bacon, fried eggs, sautéed mushrooms. Now of course I feel like a stuffed Xmas turkey. I’m going to have my FD tomorrow as Monday is a birthday with too many goodies to tempt me with.
Yes CG, Warner is certainly hitting a purple patch in his cricket career. I do prefer a good contest though. I really thought that NZ would be more competitive.
I hoping that we don’t get any rain this arvo as Pepper’s doggy friend is coming round for a play session. Her owner and I met at puppy school and we hit it off very well as did our pups.
Lovely photos of CG & PH with their grandsons. Lexie looking so adorable.
Well I must be up and about before the idleness bug bites me! GG it’s good to see you back. Yes Optus and the like are a pain. We can have any ISP we like, as long as it’s Telstra! Some choice.
    Where is Lotus?

OMG – more news coming in from Paris – multiple sites of shootings; over 40 dead and up to 60 hostages! I’m so worried for my nephew and his girlfriend. They are staying in their room in the hotel afraid to go outside.

Oh no Fit, just back from the paddock, read your post and now on Sky news, saying it’s a state of emergency, what a worry for you….those mongrels!! Hugs and cuddles of concern to you xxxxxx
