Ooo! Show, don’t be misled! SJ, I wouldn’t dream of firing a paint ball gun!…..
But definitely, I’ve fired a 22 in my dressing gown. Dratted white tailed rat devouring my son’s birthday cake, a specially decorated surprise for the morrow – Rats abounded on the (banana)farm! A hoard of 5 yr olds in cowboys and Indians costumes came to devour the chocolate forte. I had to police the section ratty chomped on. For the record, I missed, and the felon got away.
And certainly I’ve broken into a zoo! my aunt used to own one and suffered dementia, constantly lost the plot, and , hey, the animals had to be fed! It was a private zoo and she dearly loved her animals. We all just had to take turns checking on practicalities (remind me to tell you the story of her talking cockatoo.. )….. sigh….I have to confess I drove (or rode)anything available to get where I wanted to go, from the age of ten-ish ( Hey, we lived in deep bush! I drove a scrub basher for miles to take Dad and the boys smoko, or a trail bike, if they hadn’t yet put in a road) and though I did get a bike licence at 17, I didn’t get a car licence til I was 28 (and had already driven half way round Oz and back). Dang! Suejen! I’d really like to say I never flirted with a policeman…..but…one of the loves of my life (in between marriages and false alarms) was an English Bobby. A London cop on holiday to OZ, sooo handsome! I had to let him go because I had kids to raise and he had London to protect, but I think he spoiled me for anything but an English type gentleman for ever more. (God bless Heyer!) Fortunately I did find another. But above and beyond my fictional usurper, I declare I would have done (or still do) any of the above for any of my (6) lovely granddaughters. Wouldn’t we all?
Bless you CG, it is nice to find acceptance. Life has always been a matter of trial and error for me. But whatever/whoever I gave birth to or adopted, I remain true to. The baby is my deceased son’s daughter (so my only blood GD) I grieved when she had to wear glasses, but so did I, at her age. They inherit the good with the bad. This one is an artist, really talented, presently seeking her way in life, hopefully the vision aspect won’t hold her back. My eyes were near back to front at birth. I ask: “Did it give me insight?!” I hope that is true for her. And yes, I do have forty odd years of diaries. Still toying with the notion that they should be burned to protect the innocent! Anyway it is for sure My GD has a unique view of the world, so maybe it was all meant to be. A sample of her artwork:
Hi All, Thankyou for your support.Had my 1st fast day today, not sure how I went as just guessing at the calories, thought I had an old calorie counter book but couldnt find it. had herbal tea’s all day, 1 oclock lunch, miso soup with bean curd says is 20 cal & 1 boiled egg. was feeling very hungry. had 1 apple bout 3 oclock, 6 oclock hubby got home an I had 2 cans zero coke helped ease the headache I had, then dinner was lettuce, 2 slice tom, 3 slice cucumber, 3 sugar snap peas, 1/4 small carrot an a poached egg, oh and a tblsn French dressing. don’t know what that adds up to. Sooo missed my coffee, so tried one without milk, yuk awful, I do have to have a little milk in my coffee. Sorry to say I have to do my 2nd fast day tomorrow now as I have visitors coming both Thurs & Frid an have hubbies bday on the weekend. Hope I go ok tomorrow as was not easy today. Take my over 50’s aerobics class moro an have to make scones for them,no morning tea for me. Wish me luck for tomorrow & feel free to let me know if I muffed up today.
Hi All!
Welcome to Noots, Ali and Show…sounds like you are all doing well already and have launched yourselves into this way of life with enthusiasm and some aussie determination! Keep it up! π
Thank you all so much for all the lovely compliments. I am probably about a kg or two away from goal…especially after last weekend!! π Never mind, it was worth it and a few fasts will sort out the gain. π I hired the fascinator, GG – it was just pure chance that it matched my outfit so well. I hope you find yours and don’t forget to post us a picture!! Sorry for bothering you with my photos – I thought it was you who had put them up for me the last time xx
Gypsy – thank you for posting the photos, especially when you are so busy on your travels and with family. Loving the gorgeous pics of your GDs, they are so beautiful and happy. What amazing artwork too – very talented! I hope you and the leprechaun have a wonderful time. I agree with CG that your memoirs would make the best read ever!!
CG – I’m slowly getting back to a normal routine, although I spent most of the day chasing down the medics to have an xray to check on my sore rib (not broken, just bruised). I don’t think dancing until 3am did it much good but alcohol kept me numb until yesterday!! π Finally got home at 4pm, so perhaps a blessing in disguise as I’m fasting today. Feeling the cold today too as the temperatures have fallen quite a bit in the last few days. So glad to hear that Teagan has been able to go home; she will be so much more comfortable and at ease in her own surroundings and in her own bed. It must be a huge relief for you all. I hope she continues to go from strength to strength and that the road to recovery is short. Xxxx
SJ, PH, EmT, UP – can’t go back a page to remember all your news but sending you all good wishes and thanks for your nice compliments xxxx
Hi All
Fit, you are beautiful – and you to Gyp!
I’ve written about 4 or 5 posts that would have put me in with a chance of stealing Gypsy’s crown (not really, but they were bloody good, though I say it myself!) Y’all just have to take me word for it, disappeared into the Ether.
Been keeping up with the posts, a few ups and downs, good luck with the doc, doggie, CG you are sounding goooood these days, Gypsy, such prose, such a woman, love ya!! Waving to everyone else! Where is Lotus? Welcome to the newbies, these are such lovely people to journey with, and if all we learn is how to help each other to lose a bit of fat or perhaps more than a bit, love each other and ourselves, make friends and hooch, and appreciate good poetry – time very well spent.
Did a 2:5 before my trip to Denmark, managed to lose not an ounce, but just remembered the Aussie Determination and refused to let it get me down, and then went off reservation to enjoy the delights of Copenhagen – and there were many – came back after 5 days, put on not an ounce. I call that a victory -especially considering there were chips, mayo, chocolate, mayo, and wine involved! Sure there is science involved couldn’t begin to explain it – or understand the explanation.
Next trip January, no other plans until then (except Christmas – yikes!), so plenty of time to get off the 13 pounds I need to get to the target I originally set myself. Christmas might be a rather large hump to get across. Good job this is a way of life and not a diet!
Have a great week everyone!
Welcome back, Milena…thought you had left us! Thanks for compliment xx. What a result not to gain after all the indulgences in Copenhagen!
CG – not sure what I did to my rib, woke myself up during the night last week when I turned onto my side and my elbow dug into my rib. It wasn’t very sore to begin with, but got worse as the week went on…..must be having less padding on the bones that caused the injury!! Ha, ha!! π Enjoy your swim, but don’t overdo things xxxx
Ali. Make sure you download “my fitness pal” as CG suggested. It was my Bible in the beginning. You will find it so good for working out your FD calories and then use it to get a good idea of what the Non fast days ,or as we say portion control days allow. You have a great attitude and don’t stress a few extra calories for milk . this is not an exact science.
You will find that the fast days get easier and you will not need to eat as early in the day as you get used to fasting..And you have set yourself a huge task having two fast days in a row. Good luck and waiting to hear how it goes. I find I have at least 100 cals of chicken or fish on fast days. I cook chicken breasts in the oven. I sprinkle them with paprika or turmeric, with zuchini sliced over the top and a few tomatoes as well and that keeps them moist. I then put About 100 calorie lots into zip lock bags in the fridge ready for cold meat for salads or just on their own.
Also have a couple of hard boiled eggs in the fridge pre prepared.
Visitors up now so will get back to you all later.??????
Wow, Gypsy, great pics and talent! Beautiful! And they must love having a grandmother who is so entertaining! You definitely should write a book!
Google a kid’s book “The Granny Who Wasn’t Like Other Grannies”, I have read it to many children in school, I think it may have been modelled on you!
Ali, I agree with the others. MFP and a bit of milk in the coffee, I can’t drink black coffee either.
Good to hear from you Milena.
CG, wise words as always.
Hi to everyone else. I went out to lunch yesterday, the jacarandas are in full bloom here in Brisbane. Magic.
NFD today but am going to have to be sensible if I want to see results this week.
Hey there, Up! Jacarandas sound so exotic to me; must be really beautiful! I think you’ll be winning our little race – I fasted all day today, but once I had my evening meal, I couldn’t stop eating so I’m not expecting a good result at my weigh-in tomorrow. I always find it hard to get back on the horse when I’ve had a blow-out π
Wow Gyps I thought my comment would be somewhat true…..but buy, no THAT true!!! LOL I know GG is our Tresure but you’re one too. GD’s are beautiful & so is her art.
UT I’m with you on being sensible today too if I’m to see the 60’s. So CG I’m doing a FD with you today as have a morning tea out tomorrow at a posh winery. Will then see how I weigh-in on Friday & if not good enough will do another FD. The 4:3 that I’ve never managed yet!
PH keep on enjoying your visitors & making memories. XX
CG you’re right re our year & I think we have this forum to thank for not chucking in the towel & putting our weight back on. All plateaus can be broken eventually whether it be a new trick or simply summer kicking our butt into gear.
Milena good to see you back. Missed your posts. You’re not so busy now so hang around.
Fit a bruised rib is no fun…been there several times. Boy you must have partied hard! Hope you get it sorted soon.
Ali your day sounds fine in fact I expect that you were well under 500! Get MFP going for you & that’ll take out the guesswork & does teach you a lot about good/bad choices along the way I found. It helps you to make sensible choices once you’ve got a rough idea of the caloric values of foods. But sticking to natural plant-based foods as you did is the basis of 5:2 with some protein thrown in such as your egg or fish or chicken etc. Always some protein I find anyway or I get the hungries.
Well a beautiful day of 26 coming up here. Had my splash of milk in a coffee for brekky now let’s see how long I can fast for. My best if 4pm it seems to be getting longer generally, and I don’t get hungry in that time which is great. But you DO need to keep busy. Enjoy your day all be it a FD or NFD.
And enjoy your foods too even if it’s fasting we should still be able to enjoy our food! I mean we’re probably all foodies after all?! So try setting the table or using a lovely plate or bowl that you like, put some flowers on the table, eat outside, make it pleasurable…even if you’re just having miso soup or carrot sticks. Jazz it up a bit & enjoy the fact that it’s making you SLIM (eventually). Gosh I luv that word!!!!!!!!! I just had a picture in my head of a lovely older lady in our church who saw me when I lost a lot of weight previously. She didn’t say a word as I was walking across to play the piano. But she made a shapely hourglass figure with her hands & smiled broadly. Gee I loved her for that! So….let’s work on getting those compliments. Yes of course we do it for ourselves but…compliments help us GET there! They motivate us hugely. suejen XXXX
Hello team. It’s raining here which is most welcome as its been so dry.
I’ve just got back from having my X Ray. The radiographer is totally weird. She never stopped telling me about her numerous ailments.
Suejen thanks for the name of the book and the author. I’m going to look out for it. We seem to have similar tastes in literature.
Another FD tomorrow. I’ve got my meals planned. Personally I seldom use MFP as I find its not always accurate and annoying. It’s pretty easy to Google the amount of calories in various foods. We are all different but work well together as a team.
Hi all, visitors just left after great visit. Had a lovely day yesterday showing them the wonderful caravan park we discovered on the Bellingen River, and the surrounding area. So next plan is for a camping, fishing trip there as soon as possible. Ain’t life grand!??βοΈβοΈ????
Gyps. Your grandies are so lovely. And what a talent beautiful piece of artwork. You are such a special person and I am sure they love you to bits??
Fit. Having sore ribs is the pits..be kind to yourself and just relax with all the wonderful memories you have created lately with family. Very special times.
Milena. Lovely to hear from you. Internet can be so frustrating at times.. Great news about not gaining anything whilst you enjoyed Copenhagen..you must be doing things right. Well done.βοΈβοΈβοΈ
UP the jacarandas are in full bloom in Grafton as well. Such a beautiful display they make. Having a night up there on Monday catching up with my little brother after his great trip discovering Australia. ?? Must be soon time for the Jacaranda Festival and all the fun and frivolity that goes with it.
Doggy. Well done on your loss. Tassie must be good at this time of the year also.
CG and Suejen. Hop your fast day is going well. Hi also to you GG. I am having a mini fast day today as had a small breakfast with visitors before they left. Will see how I go for the rest of the day and then have a proper FD tomorrow. That should take care of all of the naughty drinking I have had??? the oysters and prawns would not have been out of line. Well best get a wriggle on ..have to cook up a big spaghetti bols for hubbie to take with him on his trip to the dams with his cousin. Leaves tomorrow for 10 days so will have to do my own cooking ..that should be a challenge for me . Have a good rest of the day ????
Yes CG salads and a grill will be the main fare. Great time for them the veggie garden will provide me with everything but the capsicums..so all good. Not to worry about the FD. There’s always tomorrow…as we sing???I’m with you ..full cream milk coffees are the best..especially from my little coffee shop down the road.
I have been waiting VERY PATIENTLY all day to post! This is the 1st time I have been able to access the internet.
WELCOME TUISMUM- hope you enjoy AUSSIE DETERMINATION. We will support you every step of the way in this WOL. We are a very inspiring lot…. we throw in humour and discuss many topics.Wishing you all the best with your fist FD, just remember to have plenty of fluids water, miso soup and the ever humble hard boil egg. Have protein in the form of almonds ,egg, can of tuna with green salad stick to 500cals and you will be fine.
PH- I am with you on the salads. just lov’in the crunch of those goodies.
Gyps -such lovely pics of your girls…. and a very talented artist s well. Your are very lucky /or they are lucky to have you as their Gran.
FIT- did you do TOO much dancing at the wedding or was it laughing? Hope your better today… Still cannot find that fascinator.!
Doggy- Don”t you just love it when a professional downloads their woes on you as a patient…..did she know your background? hope the discomfort has settled.
Had a great phone call to CG today. It is so good to hear the laughter in her voice again.
I am on a plateau I feel…AGAIN…..or this could be my happy body weight no matter what I do the scales are holding steadfast to 75-74kgs…. I have to admit my clothes are loose so am happy in that. What is not seen on the outside…. things are a changin on the inside.LOL
Have a happy FD….keep busy… that milky coffee is not far away.
YOU CAN DO THIS……YOU ARE AUSSIE DETERMINATION……..love GO GAL XXXXX
Hi Folks well I have DONE it at last. I’ve booked my flights to the WTF Reunion – the reunion to end all reunions I reckon, except I think this will just be the start of things! Used my frequent flyer points so that was good. But did also book our fights to the USA today to see our son & family so that was a bit more expensive….and only a month later. Oh well wild horses won’t keep me away from this one!
I’ve booked accommodation but not at the same place as you guys as trying to keep costs down. It’s a nice 1/2 km walk away on Kent St in an apartment – nothing flash but will do. Won’t spend much time in there no doubt!! Have free cancellation if I find something better or a special. Just happy that I can make it! YEAH BRING IT ON!!!!!!!! suejen xx
Oh booked in Wed & out late Saturday so 3 nights.
So…..how many does that make it now? Madam Secretary should be keeping track of all this I know, but I rely on you guys to keep me up-to-date! Back tracking pages is not much fun as you know. XX
Hi Tuismum, welcome. explore the ‘how it works’ tab at the top of this page to learn about YOUR TOTAL DAILY ENERGY EXPENDITURE ( TDEE) and download an ap called ‘My Fitness Pal’ as a guide to calorie values in food and what your specific needs are. and Show, you also could benefit from same. It is helpful to beginners to just get calorie counts off food labels (like a small tin of salmon) and add greens. this is a good thread for support and information. We’ve all made errors and got back on the horse. Don’t be too hard on yourself to begin with, it’s a long term change of eating patterns rather than a quick fix. some find it easy to fast, others learn to cut back for 2 days over a period of time. It has to fit with your lifestyle and not restrict it to the point where you give up. Every little bit helps. Luck, kep us posted on your progress, someone will always be here to respond to your input. Cheers! gyps
Hi All!
So thrilled for you SJ that you will be able to make the WTF tour…..it would not have been the same without you! Woohoo!!! Wd have loved to be there for a sing-song with you π but might have got us arrested!!! π What a lovely compliment to get; you must have been walking on air π
Yes, CG, it has been a year of ups and downs for us all and this thread has been the lifeline, not just to keep going with 5:2 but just to keep going at all. So thank you for starting it and for your wise insights and words of inspiration and encouragement and also for gathering a wonderful gang of like-minded ADers who constantly brighten up my day! π Xxxxxxx I don’t have a very fancy coffee machine, but it does make lovely espresso/americano, which I drink black, thank God! I have weaned myself down to one or two a day which is a major miracle for me!!! π
Doggy – how annoying to have to listen to all that moaning from someone else when you just want to get on with being treated and to find an answer to your knee problem! Hope you get relief soon xxx.
Show – sounds like you are going well, black coffee and miso soup….no cals there!
PH – glad you had such a good time with your visitors, special times and worth the few cals extra! Sea food is always a good choice but as you say, maybe the wine etc not such a good one!!!! π
Welcome, Tuismum! You have come to the right place!! Best if luck tomorrow and keep in touch.
GG – if your clothes are looser, then all the right things are happening, woohoo!! Yes, too much laughing and dancing….well, actually, you can’t have too much of either, can you? Still sore, but I’m a tough old bird and will be back at my dance class tonight…can’t miss that! Keep looking for the fascinator…we want photos!!!
Gotta go now to meet an old colleague, who wants me to do some interviewing for positions in his school; so a little exercise for the old grey matter for a change!! Catch up later xxxx
Hi all & welcome tuismum.
Gypsy – what beautiful pics thanks so much for sharing them. I would buy your book!
Ali – when I planned my meals I made sure there was a bit of room in the calorie count to let me have a dash of milk in my coffee(s). If you get the fast diet book it has a small calorie counter & some suggested menus & recipes. There is also a dedicated recipe book (I don’t have that one though).
Fit – no there can never be too much laughing or dancing!!! Hope your ribs feel better soon though.
My children are slightly bemused by the fact that I am not always eating the same things they are for dinner π In some ways my biggest challenge has been to find meals to cook that don’t involve cooking 2 completely different meals, but have found a few that seem to work.
Hope you all have a fantastic Thursday π
Suejen…so pleased you are going to make the reunion, and will be there the same days as me. Really looking forward to meeting you, and all of the others. CAN’T WAIT. WILL BE SO MUCH FUN. WOW………M.?????βοΈ?..
Sounds like you are on track Show. Miso soup for dinner…
Welcome Tuismum, I will furthermore refer to you as TM. You will enjoy the support and encouragement of this wonderful group. Good luck with your fast day tomorrow. A few of us will be fasting tomorrow too. So may we all be strong???.
GG 75 Kgs sounds wonderful to me. Especially if your clothes are loose. You must look amazing. Hope you find that fascinator….
Fit…remember….there is always Skype and it is possible to all sing together over the Internet, might even sound better that way?????????
Very tired so off to the land of nod….hope you are enjoying yourself gyps…
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE FOR FD TOMORROW. WE CAN DO THIS ??????????
so hi, all, have had a busy day, but all is now ready for the trek, we take of in safari tomorrow morning, collecting others as we journey North for a 150k’s, then turn West over the Palmerston ranges. A motley crew of cars, vans and motorbikes. So many of my club members have grown old in the service (of fundraising to provide motorized wheel chairs for spinabifida kids) some can’t ride anymore, but they are still there, over seeing the catering and putting in endless hours making these annual camps a fun experience for those we fleece! Characters abound. So I guess I never see myself as out of the ordinary amongst them. Certainly they expect me to ride until my licence is revoked(I actually delivered the local constable, so the system’s rigged!) and I’m Happy to tote the flag for them. Can’t wait to glide through my hills again.
UP, SJ, PH, Dawg, CG, GG, FIT, Milena, thankyou all for encouraging my delinquencies! I really thought I was past it until I met you mob. Just goes to show you ain’t all as innercent as ya’ think!
Milena, mate, your posts quite put me in the shade, SO DON’T BE SHY!
UP, I had a progress taste of your mulberry gin julep. Served on ice with soda water, a fresh lemon wedge and a sprig of fresh mint from my garden, bruised, just so. Bloody luvly tell ya’ muther! I haven’t added the sugar syrup yet, should blow your mind with another 5 months fermentation. Still investigating travel with bootleg bag. Ah well, never been to jail as an inmate, might be poetically stimulating.
So this is me signing out for a few days. Do pray for oncoming traffic. They tend to stare at my rig. As for the line behind, well, patience is a virtue……
This is actually a bar attached to ‘Paradise on the Beach’ in Palm Cove, where I plan to take you all on the 2017 reunion…..Interested?:
AW Gyp, how nice of you to say – I am not in your league, but bugger if I’m not trying to work out how to get over to Oz to meet you lot, might have to be 2017 – I’m 60 in December 2016, so might suggest to to my OH, on the other hand, I can take my pension out now – its really is a pittance, but it would buy a ticket………………
Could you do me a favour when you have a mo, send me instructions on posting photos, milenapaterson@yahoo.co.uk.
Well, managed 3 fasts in a row, heading for a fourth – not too difficult when I’m just laying on the settee with my feet up for days, not hours, at a time. The OH suggests a pizza for dinner – followed by wine, cake, mince pies, chocolate croissant and – in the early hours – a pain au chocolat.
I can’t even blame stress, only reason I didn’t finish the chocolates was they were coffee and almond. The was one helluva fall off the horse, OH has been buying the bakery leftovers for weeks, he seems to have developed a sweet tooth which is NOT going on his belly, the pastries he brings home haven’t bothered me one iota – until last night!
Will just chalk it down to a re-feed day (whatever that is!) keep away from the scales for a few days, and do an extra fast day. Or I could just have some REALLY spicy food and give myself the runs!!! At last, a benefit of losing my gall bladder!
Was at hospital with son on Monday (hand doing well, thinking of suing the college as it was not put in accident book and teacher told him it was just a sprain instead of sending him to hospital for xray, delays resulted in cyst and bone graft, poor lad got a while to go to get strength back to do the fire service test he was due to do in May), back tomorrow with OH, he is getting a lump taken off his head – looking forward to it, only time I’m out of the house!
Anyway, back to work, lost all my customers in the Antipodes and Europe due to strong pound!
Well I know you’ll all be in bed but it’s now 10pm here and I’m knackered, so heading to bed early. Went for a decent walk & OH only has one pace…wears me out! Also if I stay up any longer I’m going to head to the fridge or the pantry or anywhere that has food and BLOW my day!! So night all. See you tomorrow. sj xxxx
Hi All, just chillin before I head to bed. Well I survived my 2 days in a row fast. Must say was lot easier today as was really busy, even to have the lunch I had planned. Took my ladies an gent for aerobics thismorn and managed not to eat any morning tea. Was sooo hard to not eat the scrap bit of the scone mix when they came out of the oven ha ha realized how easy it is to just pop those things in the mouth before you even realize you’ve done it.Got home at 1 and cooked sponges and a peanut butter cake ( for my aerobics class, as I make them birthday cakes) and I have visitors for the weekend. My sister & I have our big xmas pudding making day tomorrow, so looking forward to be able to eat normally as I made a sweet chicken curry ( using light coconut cream) for our lunch, but will only have a small serve.100 gm fish, salad and a poached egg for dinner tonight, although I did cook in a dash butter an olive oil. downloaded the calorie counter app you suggested, just trying to work it out. Look forward to any easy tasty recipes you can suggest. All the best everyone, off to bed now, as was only supposed to be a small post. Night night
Just some info for the newbies…there is an Aussie Determination Recipe thread too, which might help provide some inspiration and ideas for fast day meals and general healthy options.
Forgot to mention earlier, Up, that my weigh-in this morning shows a gain of 1.5kg…bummer!! π
Gypsy – like the look of the bar….we will have no problem occupying all those bar stools and raising a glass (or two)!! π Have a fantastic trip…it’s a wonderful cause and I hope people are very generous when they come across your travelling circus!
Well done, Show – you are all organized and set for success!
EmT – cook up plenty of veg and fill up on those and just avoid the carbs e.g. potatoes, pasta, rice etc or just have a small amount of those. I find sweet potatoes a great alternative to ordinary ones and very filling too. My rib is improving all the time, thanks!
Milena – fell off the wagon myself too last night….oh well, must try harder!!!
Poor SJ – hope you slept well and recovered from your ‘forced march’!!
Wow, Ali – you sure are one busy bee and how can you do all that baking and not indulge??? Great self-control!!
Hi CG
I think I am finally getting used to eating a lot less, so its not a hardship, and I’m not moving much, to be fair, could do with getting out more, but too busy, needs must when the devil drives!!!! I just go with the flow much of the time, 5 days a week of fasts or semi-fasts and two days relaxing all the rules seems to work. Was talking about my sleeping habits with OH the other day, he pointed out I have never slept much, and I didn’t sleep even as a child.
Finding more and more if I just march to the beat of my own drum, I’m most content. So I try to eat when I’m hungry and sleep when I’m tired, even though its totally out of sync with the rest of the household, and the rest of the world, working from home allows me to do this.
Hi, I am actually going to work today as I occasionally do so this will be short.
I am fasting today but that is good as I will be too busy to think about food unless I get a class that is making Father’s Day coconut ice again !
Gypsy, yes to 2017 again depending on timing!
And glad the gin tastes good, so cool!
I am a definite for the reunion as much as I can be. There is a chance that I will be in NZ. My husband is doing something after the reunion over there and we were planning to take a little extra time to look around. He told his host of our plan and he has offered us use of a campervan and suggested that we go before rather than after which could interfere. I have never been to NZ so have to go but if there ends up being a clash I will be SOOO disappointed! Anyway, trying not to worry about it until I have his dates and know whether I need to worry. It may all be fine. And I won’t book a flight until I know. As I have mentioned I will be staying with my sister who lives close to the city.
Don’t worry, Fit, I am sure it is only temporary, it would be hard to put on that much actual fat in such a short time!
Cheers all.
Good morning everyone. Welcome Tuismum. Others have explained how to best do this diet so I won’t repewt what they’ve said. We are a very friendly team and discuss all sorts of issues , not always diet related. FD here again too. I usually keep a stock of Malaysian Laksa Chicken Soup ( Lean Cuisine) in my freezer. It’s only 178 calories and makes a good standby meal. Yes it is difficult at times preparing meals for other members of the family as well as our own. I only have hubby at home now and will often just add some potatoes or rice to a meal to bulk it up for him. If I’m making a casserole, I always make extra and then freeze it. I often give him that.
I’m having another couch potato day due to my knee. CG you know what it’s like. One wants to get out and about and do things but are not able to. I’m trying not to be despondent.
Take care all and hang in there. Tomorrow is not far away.
XX Doggy
Morning all, just had breakfast, it’s a non fast day and feeling quite full. I am trying to stay away from sweet things as it is a weakness of mine. Anyone else have a problem craving sweets after dinner, even if you are feeling full.
I have just joined the Diet Dr who advocates LCHF and intermittent fasting. I find that I need to keep reading and learning about this way of living to keep me on track.
Hope you all enjoy your time in Sydney catching up and meeting each other, wish I could be there but can’t leave my husband as I am his Carer.
Sue
Well folks I did it at last. As of this morning (2nd fast yesterday) my weight is 69.4kg. I well and truly hit the 60’s!!! It has taken so long. I hit the 60’s one day back in June but then seesawed between 70 & 72 all winter. So very happy that summer has me on the move again. And .8kg towards the 5kg challenge….a good start.
Start weight 82.4
Present weight 69.4
Total loss 13 kg
Goal weight 64 (so 5 1/2 kilos to go)
Just had a lovely morning tea at one of our most beautiful wineries. A big pity though that our friend with CFS was unable to make it. She goes downhill fast. Hope everone fasting is hanging in there and visualising their slimmer healthier selves as a result. It’s sooo worth it team so persist persist and then some more! Suejen xxxx
