Nearly 9.45am Monday
Hi everyone
Yesterday was a failed FD – my head cold (& feeling miserable) led to comfort eating with foods I don’t usually crave – 998 cals for the day, so a CD with all the wrong foods. Will try for FD today.
Congrats to all those achieving what they set out to do, and also to those for hanging in there when times get tough!

@flourbaby–I wasn’t at any type of “all-inclusive” eating holiday or I GUARANTEE you I would have added more than five pounds! And well done you for Arid April.
Am seeing an accupuncturist for the first time in my life tomorrow. Not sure what to expect but hopefully she can help with cravings and stress.

Day 9 – Ireland 🇮🇪 – FD
Despite a don’t give a darn attitude to my eating over the weekend I am only up half a pound from Friday 🤓 Phew!!!
So it’s my first FD of the week and looking forward to it. Lentil soup for lunch, chicken and peppers for evening meal, herbal teas and tons of water (already consumed two litres today)
Heading into work soon but I am sure everything will be fine for me. What happened on Friday was shocking and not the way I would have handled things at all. This was like two children screaming at each other in the school yard. My teenage co-workers are part time and were only there as it was Easter break from school and college. The poor guys were shocked. They won’t be here today, it will just be the core staff, minus my colleague who walked off the job. I am trusting the universe to make sure all will be well in work today.

Left a miserable drizzly London yesterday into beautiful blue skies in north wales. Went for a fantastic walk high up on the Mawwdach estuary, fantastic views and so exilerating.
Managed mindful eating yesterday, fingers crossed for another today.
Woke to more beautiful skies and ready for another day of walking after a hearty full Welsh.

day 9 UK NFD
It was no good, those leftovers scuppered my fast day again. I had hoped for a quick blitz and to get rid of the extra weight fast but it clearly isn’t going to happen that way. I was genuinely hungry after the physical work. I ate a reasonable amount of healthy food and didn’t over compensate so it isn’t a disaster but I need to be a bit more realistic about my strategy. I doubt I could manage a fast today so I won’t even try, just go for moderation.
Today I have the boring task of trying to sort out my room after having crammed the furniture and stuff from the office that can’t go out in the damp shed into it. Much less interesting than working with the animals. They are starting to moult their winter coats finally and I spent most of Friday and Saturday grooming, which now has to be done outside as it is too dark in the shed so the garden is full of fluff. It was quite windy on Friday so there were clouds of it swirling about. The birds are happy about it, they have plenty to line their nests with. Our birds do really well, they have the best nests and the best supply of worms and access to lots of insects that live in the rabbit hutches as well as an abundant supply of ivy berries from the mountainous ivy that covers the big shed.

3 fast days this week. Going to keep myself very busy this week with all those jobs I’ve been meaning to get on with.
@flourbaby funny how we all call it a diet and really you’re right it is definitely a way of life. Although I’ve had a lot more calories over the Easter period and this weekend I’ve still only put on a few pounds without the fasting days in between I’m sure it would have been nearer 8 or 10 pounds in weight.

I’ve been here before about 2 years ago, but have put weight on quite quickly recently, due to comfort eating, and low energy, hope to get moving now, and don’t drink anymore so will be interesting to see the impact.

I’m about 23 hours into my fast now … just starting to feel like I’m fasting. Normally this is about my hardest time.
For planking I went down to my longest being 3 minutes today from the 3:30 last wek, but I did 10 minutes total. I could have pushed it harder but I didn’t.

1st week loss exactly 3lb – yay me! I fasted 1 and 2 half days (salad midafternoon = 1/2 fast day) and smashed my exercise targets – feeling very motivated today. This weeks plan 1000 cals today, 600 fast tomorrow, 1500 Wednesday (lunch with a friend), 1000 cals Thursday, 600 cals fast Friday and 2000 on Saturday and Sunday – as I’m in France at the weekend. So success – yes, has it been tough – on occasion but a supply of hard boiled eggs and spinach and brocoli soup has helped.
Day 9, London (usually Amsterdam) NFD
I have had scuh a boozy weekend for my friend’s wedding – terrible (but fun!). Not been able to keep up with all the posts sadly. I will try to tonight when flying home to NL.
Today was going to be a FD but I think I’m going to move it to tomorrow as have been itching to try this sushi place near my parents’ house and it’s my final day in London in so long – oh well! Will keep it healthy though ha.

Morning April Fasters! I’ve just added myself to April challenge, went a bit quiet at the end of March challenge but I’m very happy as I’ve managed to maintain my 6 pounds loss in March over Easter and all of last week – where my diet has been shocking and has included 0 fast days!!
Back on my first fast day for April today – I have signed up for the London to Brighton bike ride in June! First time I have ever done anything like this so I’m very excited! I have bought a new bike and have also signed up for group personal training sessions at the gym to get me ready for the big day. Fasting will still be part of my training, but only on days I am not training hard e.g. Mondays/Wednesdays.
Looking for a 1.5kg/3-4 pounds loss this month, I’m away for 4 days in Vienna from 20th so would ideally like to lose around 2 pounds before I go, so I can maintain while I’m away and then an additional pound loss for the end of the month.

Day 9 UK FD
Chucking in another FD today as despite being fairly “good” , progress has been slow. Only 2 pounds for the week. Serves me right for tucking into the all you can eat buffet! Big body ( pardon the pun) swerve from now on. Not my idea… family night out with, in the main, big lads who can easily put all that away!
So, 3 pounds to go to meet my April target. Should be possible!

Day 9 Stevensville Maryland USA CFD
Overall the weekend was good, an extra FD on Saturday let me enjoy a lovely brunch with dear friends and lots of Bloody Mary’s. I was surprise how little I ate and still felt full, seams like my stomach has really shrunk!
I am going to begin my 66hr fast today and one more FD on Thursday. I am not really sure how to switch to maintenance so I am sticking to my regular fasting schedule for this month.
The best preparation for tomorrow is to be your best today. Have a great Monday everyone

I had a great weekend with an extra FD on Saturday I was able to really enjoy my brunch date with dear friends. Load of Bloody Mary’s and I couldn’t finish my huge plate of food, guess my stomach really has shrunk.

Good day yesterday and scales have been kind this morning. I am struggling to sleep at the moment – don’t think I should be stressed about anything so scouted on the web for thoughts and found the attached…. I thought it may be interesting for others too…

I am not doing keto but I do try to lower carbs so maybe…. I do know I have more success in sleeping if I save all my calories until the evening on FDs so maybe….

Last week I could only do one FD as I had a migraine on Thursday and Friday.

Quick check-in this morning, I’m aiming to be very controlled today as there were a few cheeky (& unnecessary) refined carbs this weekend ……………. Still can’t shake the habit of using myself as a bin!!!! I know, I know, whether I throw it away or eat it, it’s still gone and only one of those options is good for ME!!!!!! Bin it, Bin it, Bin it!!!!
I hope everyone had a relatively successful weekend, it’s so hard for me to stay controlled at home, maybe at some point I’ll try my usual B2B2B over a weekend and easy CDs at work. For the moment I’m looking forward to starting my B2B2B tomorrow!!

I’m starting to do well now with my fast (24+ hours in). I’m not looking forward to my Tuesday morning push-ups because they take time to do. It is Monday evening in Japan. So far this fast I’ve only allowed myself one sugar free piece of gum, but I didn’t shallow it. However I don’t count calories on NFDs and I try to workout 5 or 6 days a week, so my weight bounces around a lot.
Day 9 – USA – NFD
Found a cute little individual pizza line (frozen – here in the South, they really don’t do pizza right, as opposed to NYC/Chicago) that caters to my snobby tastes in pizza: spinach and goat cheese, tomato and goat cheese, etc. So I had 2 of them this past week…normally I do LCHF, but these were an experiment (chuckle) and of course, you can’t have pizza without BEER, so you know the story. My 5 dry days last 2 weeks were actually 4. Got to stop fudging and kidding myself: if I want to get to maintenance, that 9-10 lbs. isn’t going to drop off all by itself.
Day 9 OH FD.
I am joining this monthly challenge really late. I indicated my interest but have been on vacation since the month began, I tried to follow the plan while I was on vacation but was so fried and exhausted, I just decided to let it go and give myself a mental, physical and emotional break from everything structured. I really needed it. But now I am back and ready for a new beginning.
@metatauta I completely agree with you; Pizza without beer is like PB and J without the PB 🙂

I’m playing piano at a funeral this morning for a church member, so I will have to be very careful at the funeral potluck lunch. Our church has great cooks. That might be the one meal I do all day? I will see how it works out.
It’s a new week. How we manage to stay away from foods that bring us down is a never-ending battle. Pizza with beer is oh so necessary! @basyjames and @metatauta I completely agree. Certain carbs just seem necessary, don’t they?

Day 9, failed FD, Finland
I have lost the good vibe from March. I woke up knowing today was a FD, and then did everything possible to sabotage, so a NFD today was. It’s funny how it doesn’t matter what weight you are, when you are having a blah day it still feels the same.
@at have a wonderful time in Melbourne, hope your nieces wedding was beautiful. I am very jealous, it is my home town, and sometimes I miss it a lot. Thanks also for the planking info. And yes I guess you lucky retirees must have to keep extra busy on FD’s. I need to try and keep more busy on day off FD’s.

Day 9 UK – back home – FD
Used my travel day to fast after my lovely holiday – amazingly I’ve only been away 5 nights but I feel really rested and reset.
On the healthy side, I went swimming and ate over a kg apples plus a heck of a lot of vegetables, no sugar and no carbs, On the other side I really enjoyed the treats (chips, cooked breakfast, baked camembert, wine & beer) – so happy I wove it in in moderation and didn’t binge! I’ll weigh myself tomorrow and hope not to have put on too much – if I can manage treats like that this really will be a way of life.
Strange to be home, feels very quiet & I’m a bit out of it. Not engaging with the stresses that I’ve come back to or the massive list of things to do tomorrow. Also worried about my mother who has disappeared from contact. I’ll have to go round tomorrow and check she’s OK.
Unpacked, done some laundry and had supper already. Part of going away was hoping to reset my body clock and here I am already showered, in PJs and planning to go to bed around 9pm – if i can stay awake that long!
I’m hoping to learn to get up early and start each day with the things I love before I begin the things I need to get done. I’m always too tired by the evenings, and life becomes a bit of a slump. Here’s to new beginnings…

Day 9 FD Oregon USA
Weighed myself today and down 1 lb from Sunday AM, but still up 1.5 from Friday AM.
Hoping to be down 2.5 from today by this coming Friday.
Went to the acupuncture appointment this morning and was really good. Felt relaxing and hoping that it helps me stay on track with diet plans.
She actually said I might feel hungry after so to be gentle with myself on fasting if so. I decided to eat something late morning (which I never do on FD’s) but only had some eggwhites scrambled with a small roma tomato. Only about 50 calories and will likely eat that again mid-afternoon and then dinner this evening.
Glad to see a big list of fasters today–helping me stay motivated!! 🙂

Day 10 NFD Back in Auckland
Greetings all! Hope everyone is on good form.
Had an amazing week helping to install the OH’s exhibition, which looks v elegant as always. We had a tab at the Art Gallery’s cafe, which served delicious food and like all good places, the portions sizes were modest which probably saved my bacon! I did the FDs as per schedule but did consume quite a lot of empty alcohol calories… I weighed myself this morning and was 85.7kg, the same number I left on! I’m delighted!
