Quick update. My 76.2 the other day serms to have been a fluke. Im hovering around the 77s so suppose thats where Im really at. I thought it might be too good to be true.

Day 22 – Rural Nebraska, USA – CD

I was horrified and speechless when I got on the scale on Sunday morning, after having a wonderfully behaved Saturday–166.8. 😱 I supposed it was perhaps that the beans I’d made for supper are just that carb-and calorie-heavy and reflects terrible menu planning on my part, but still! This morning is only a pound down from that, so I’m definitely headed in the wrong direction. Thankfully, my two WFDs each week keep the damage from being too awful. I’m currently in another frantic challenge to accomplish a bunch of things–you know what they say about people who volunteer being far busier than the fully employed, LOL. So I’m cutting myself some slack food-wise, but will continue to keep as much focus on good eating behavior as I have time for. May will be consumed with projects, and June may also be, but July is looking good and like summer ought to look…I hope!

@funshipfreddie I chuckled at your jelly question. I’ve been watching The Great British Baking Show and learned there that Brits call Jello “jelly,” but in the States jelly and jam are mostly synonymous. Technically, jelly is jam without seeds…but I’ve see jam with seeds also called jelly. So, here, “jelly” is the fruit stuff you spread on your toast or combine with peanut butter for a sandwich. 😁🤣

Okay, that’s all I’m going to chat this morning as I have things pressing down on me to accomplish. Have a grand one, everyone!

    USA. Day 22. FD

Down another pound this morning. It looks like it is clear to me that I can’t drink any wine, if I want to lose weight! :(.

    Anyway!

Hi all, I hope everyone is well.
Just a quick note from me today…

@funshipfreddie thanks for sorting the list again..🌟
@stitchincarol as you would say… are you tracking what you are taking in on the NFDs? There is no doubt that any bread, sweet treats etc derail my efforts – but also you have a busy time right now and you know you can do it when the time is right for you. 💕
@coco – Alcohol is just the devil 👿 for me. I don’t miss it thankfully.

    Day 23 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 St George’s Day – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

I’m thinking of hanging a sign on my door – ‘Do Not Feed the Occupant’ – after a neighbour gave me an enormous avocado yesterday which ‘needs eating asap’. I thought it would be a pity to eat it ‘as is’ so I broke my rule about never buying bread & bought some cheese rolls to go with it 😋

@stitchincarol – I remember eating peanut butter & jelly sandwiches as a kid when I lived in Canada for a while. For some reason, despite being a salted peanut junkie, I never even think of buying peanut butter.

@ccco – maybe that’s a positive?! Give it a shot 🚫🍷Your brain & body will thank you for it. Ditto what @jaifaim said. 570 days for me, & roughly half a million empty calories dodged 🎯

Well… Bacon and egg pie for lunch… Later we had chickies and bees then El Moro’s Paella with pork and spinach followed by Christmas cake and rum…
All up there’s just too much food for me but I am looking after family…
@jaifaim Big congratulations on your ATL!!
@ccco Gosh you’re doing well! So are you @excelsior12309!
@funshipfreddie Have you thought of guacamole?!

    Steely Resolve!

    Day 23 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 225 lbs. April goal met!

Courage, everyone! Body weight fluctuates all the time; fast and don’t sweat the small stuff 🙂

I’m sure this NFD refeeding with all the receptions and celebrations scheduled will disrupt, but tomorrow is another FD, and I don’t foresee any reason why I can’t have some better, regular, more mindful NFDs the rest of the work week.

    Resolve 😉

Day 23 – Rural Nebraska, USA – WFD

Just before I went to bed, I realized that my Ascension Hymn Fest is in two weeks and two days. Sixteen Days. How have I gotten so close without realizing it’s so close??? I’ve done virtually nothing to prepare for it, the choir has no music (since I’ve not chosen anything! and neither have I found another bass yet), and although I was able to go to sleep and stay that way, I was awake shortly after 5 and never really went back to sleep. So, it’s 6:45am, I’m up and dressed, and headed over to my music at church so I can get this thing set up. Or perhaps cancel it. Not sure what’s best, but it’s time to do something.

    Have a grand one, everyone!

Thank you everyone regarding my abstaining from my wine and all alcohol beverages. I am actually finding it easy to abstain now. I seem to have grown not to like the taste anymore! I feel so much better and don’t miss it.

Two of my incentives to lose weight right now are a wedding and a wedding shower, both in June. I am very eager to meet that goal.

Hopefully you all are having a great day! 🤗🌈

    Day 23 UK f800

But out of my routine as had to go for a covid booster this morning and then did a bit of shopping, so didn’t have time to get weighed, maybe leave it for a couple of days and hopefully there will be a pleasant surprise 🤞

Oh @stitchincarol hope you get the hymn fest sorted , sleepless/ restless nights are the worst

Sounds delish @merry🍎 although no idea what chickies and bees are , I’m sure someone will enlighten me

Well done @northgeorgia and a week to go , you could smash your 🎯

Thanks @funshipfreddie for some reason I kept dropping off the PL despite your best efforts but it’s ok my resolve is strong at the mo

So quiet here?! 👀 And only one more week left of amazing April. This month is flying by; but then I think I say that every month. ⏳

@northgeorgia – well done hitting your target already! 🎯💪

@stitchincarol – good luck getting your ducks in a row 🦆

@merryapple – I love guacamole. I’ve never made it – it’s cheaper to buy it ready-made than to buy all the ingredients. I bought a ready-to-eat avo yesterday, for the first time in ages, & couldn’t believe how expensive they are now?!

A sobering article – ‘Alcohol-related deaths soar to an all-time high..’ Especially among middle-aged women.

    Day 24-No. VA USA-FD800

We are trundling along toward the end of Amazing April. “One day at a time” as we say. @ccco, I find that mostly avoiding alcohol has been a plus for me in losing some weight. I think besides the calories, the alcohol makes me feel more careless about what I eat, and things fall apart at the end of the day.
    I can’t say I miss it, either.

    @northgeorgia, good for you!

@merryapple, bacon and egg pie sounds sooo good. I would eat a lot of that. You must explain what chickies and bees is (are?) I understand the Christmas cake (mmm)

@stitchincarol, your life sounds hectic at present. I don’t envy you, but I advise you to simplify as best you can, and do without a bass….

@funshipfreddie, smash up the avocado in a bowl, put in a bit of lime juice and some hot sauce, or perhaps some minced spicy pepper, some salt, and you have some guacamole. You can do it!

@brightonbelle, where is your holiday going to be?
    Down we go, everyone!

    Day 24 UK f800

Yes @funshipfreddie another quiet day and in our last week of April – Can you all have a think about hosting our May challenge 🙏

Travelling tomorrow so trying to plan to avoid temptation, something about sitting on a train for hours makes me want to snack , probably boredom so I’m packing my kindle and want to try and resist

So another f800 day for me, might be the last this week so aiming for a super good one

    Day 24 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 230 lbs. I just have to laugh at my body’s “weight panic.” Yes, I had carbs, but nothing crazy. I didn’t have time for lunch, and I ate like a bird at the morning reception. If I take inventory of what all I ate yesterday, it consisted of three eggs, a handful of nuts, a handful of grapes, some cheese, a PB-honey sandwich, a bagel with chicken salad, two tiny pieces of popcorn chicken, five whole wheat crackers, a small glass of lemonade, a handful of pork rinds with hummus, and the only real meal was the evening event with Mexican rice and cheese with two (non-fried) tacos: baked chicken and steak. Hmmm.. there was that dessert they made though that consisted of two cookies and a bit of cream cheese frosting. I’m not used to the multiple eating events during a day, so I think that confused my brain and led me to munch a bit more and pick up more carbs than normal.

Anyway, doesn’t seem too caloric-dense, so I suppose a lot of it is water weight gain. Up five pounds in a day? Yeah… likely so, LOL

    Anyway, I’ll do a FD500 today.

    Day 24 – Rural Nebraska, USA – CD – 161.0

After that truly hideous weight on Sunday morning, my weight this morning is very reassuring. Also, I’ve been trying to figure out what to wear for my piano students’ recital this Sunday, and pulled a dress out of the closet that I bought twenty years ago for when I was 20lbs lighter and an inch taller. Sadly, it doesn’t fit at ALL the way it did then–but it actually looks decent. (It’s snug around the waist, so all those lumps showing is the issue.) After yesterday’s WF my belly is fairly flat, so I’ve set myself the task of fasting and eating as little as @ccco does–you like being held up as a role model?? 😁–through Sunday. It’s not at all certain that I’ll find that much RESOLVE, but seeing me in that dress in my memory should be at least a little motivational!

@funshipfreddie I do indeed finally have my ducks in a row, thanks. It was a crazy day of phone calls and texting yesterday, in addition to piano lessons, but the hymns and choir pieces are mostly chosen, my choir is in place, and our first rehearsal is even set for tomorrow night. Whew! Now I have to practice like a crazy woman, plus actually write the text notes for each hymn, but that’s doable.

@ccco A wedding and a wedding shower are two great motivators!

@excelsior12309 You don’t miss your alcohol, eh? Impressive! But “do without a bass”? No, not possible…but the ironic news is that I now have FOUR basses, LOL (four sopranos, two altos, two tenors…balance may be an issue! 😂😂😂). And I will certainly simplify my life in what I select to play to go with those hymns (introductions, alternate stanzas, etc.). Thankfully, I’m entirely in control of how tough the music is that I’m tackling.

@brightonbelle In addition to your Kindle, do you have something that keeps your fingers busy? For me, the obvious choice would be my knitting; what about a book of crossword puzzles or Sudoku or etc…would that help you resist nibbling? And taking along a water bottle? (Don’t you love suggestions from the woman who doesn’t seem able to lose weight to the woman who’s at goal weight??? 🤔😂😘)

@northgeorgia I was in awe at all you ate yesterday that you categorized as not much; I’d be up TEN pounds if I’d had that much, LOL! But then, I’m female, you’ve got a man’s metabolism, and I’m, what, fifteen years older? But it reminded me of my Sunday weight when I was the highest that I’ve possibly ever been. And today I’m back down, so you know it can happen.

Well, cleaning lady comes today, so I have some tidying to do and then a hymn fest to work on. I’m not nearly so stressed today as I was yesterday, thankfully, but I’m still eager to finish up with all these “lasts” that I have going on in the countdown to DH’s retirement.

    Have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 25 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

@excelsior12309 – nooo?! I could do it, but I find food preparation of any description very tedious; & then there’s the mess it makes. I’m hoping I’m still around when they invent replicators. Y’know those gadgets they have on Star Trek? You just tell it what you want & it instantly synthesises the meal/drink. Kind of like a microwave, but you don’t need to put anything in first! 😃

@northgeorgia – that is a LOT of food?! I’m sure if you totted up the calories you’d be surprised. Maybe you’re compensating for what you’re not eating on your FD’s, subconsciously? Hence the yoyoing & those 5 lb swings 🤔

@merryapple – catch-up mode, me too for the last week. Dunno where the wiggle room went, but it’d be nice to get it back 🎯

Weigh-in: 228 lbs. OK, ok. I don’t usually have all these high calorie bagels, cream cheese, chicken salad, and the like laying around — I bought it all for an event last week, very little was eaten, and I took what was left home where the cost of the food and its availability overcame me. I did better with the cracker assortment I took to an event on Tuesday. I asked someone to please take and share with their classes, and left it all there. I just need to buy a lot less and/or let people take things home. I also do worse when it is all day snacking vs set meals, as was the case on Tuesday.

I think that we all feel smugness after a FD that was successful, but more to the point is feeling smugness after an NFD, right? Because this morning, I’m absolutely polishing my halo! 😇 I had significantly more at supper than I’d planned, but that only took me to the 1200 (well, 1264) calories of the CD I’d planned; if I hadn’t still been quite hungry, even after waiting fifteen minutes, but had managed to avoid that extra food, I’d truly have been at 800 for the day. 💪 I can see that the challenge of successful NFDs is going to be to persuade myself I’m not actually hungry enough to eat more, not a small challenge since this girl can EAT! 😂

@funshipfreddie I giggled when you said you didn’t know where the wiggle room went. Umm…salted peanuts??? But. That little jab aside, you do so impressively well keeping your weight right where you want it, and low, so I’m sure your wiggle room will show back up soon.

@jaifaim Your comment about Chinese food made it sound glorious–and made me realize it’s been years (literally) since I’d had Chinese food. Maybe that should be on our list of restaurants to visit on a Friday night!

@brightonbelle I hope whatever has you traveling is going well, and I’ll bet you’re so looking forward to Nice!

We had a bit of rain overnight, and are supposed to get a bit more this morning, but then the kind of storms at midnight that send some people under the bed and again tomorrow afternoon, so our lovely warm and sunny spring days have been hidden by the clouds. It’s always fun to look at clouds and think about the sunshine that’s still above them; I was so surprised as a kid the first time I flew and the plane went up through the clouds and continued on in sun!

It’s a super busy day today with my first Ascension choir practice tonight, and I haven’t even poured my first cup of coffee, so it’s time to get moving.

Had a classic FD, 560 cals & clocked up 10,300 steps. I still felt hungry after my omelette last night, so I walked on the spot to distract myself. It worked! 🎯 I hope the other Thursday fasters are feeling smug today 😇 I’ve got Wordle smugness too – cracked it in two! 🤓

@stitchincarol – You’re not wrong, the perilous salted peanuts! 😅 I went to buy cat food etc yesterday, & found myself gazing at my favourite peanut brand. But I resisted, & half the wiggle room is back already 💪 Well done on the 161! 🏅

    Day 26 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 230 lbs. I have a nice outing with some old friends tomorrow evening, so that’s something good to look forward to! Next FD will be on Sunday. Still no soft drinks in I can’t remember how long.

    Day 26 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 160.2

Another spot-on WFD; I ate little enough on Wednesday that I was quite hungry at various points yesterday, but I answered each complaint with a bunch of water, and having a day of non-stop things to do certainly helped. Now come the two challenging days…

Wow, but we’re silent this morning! Maybe later in the day?

@jaifaim Love that your work trousers are a bit too loose; proves you’ve been accomplishing what you set out to do! I wonder if, with another couple of months at this weight, you’ll shrink a bit more? Not lose more weight, just shrink? That’s been my experience anyway.

@funshipfreddie Well done on swerving the peanuts, LOL! When I got home from choir practice at about 9pm last night, I was at 8800 steps. All I actually wanted was to crawl into bed, but I get a reward from our insurance company any time my Fitbit tells them I’ve reached 10K steps (my fitbit was actually free using the points from that insurance company, so it’s no small reward). So I sat on the sofa for five minutes and then turned on the British Baking Show and started walking in place, watching to see if, like you, I could get a thousand steps in 7 minutes. It took a bit longer (9 minutes?) but I got to 10K and went to bed feeling quite virtuous, LOL! And, great article on walking; thanks!

@northgeorgia Well done on eliminating soft drinks; that’s no small challenge! Have you looked for Spindrift around you? It’s carbonated water with actual fruit juice, so each can has between 7 and 25 calories, or so. The pineapple tastes wonderful and feels impossible to be so low in calories; the others are not as straightforward yummy, but are lovely with a meal when I’m skipping the wine/beer.

I have a meeting in the morning about 15 minutes south of me, and then I’m getting together with some girlfriends for lunch and laughter at the house of one of them, and that’s 30 minutes west. I’m making lemon posset to take along, and the menu is salad with grilled chicken, french bread, and wine, so not a flat-belly-friendly collection of food, but as long as I am reasonable today, I’ll give myself a pass tomorrow. The real challenge is what to eat, when, and where today. Lunch? Go out to dinner or cook? Who knows, LOL. It’s soon going to be time to get it figured out!

    Have a grand one, everyone!

    USA. Day 26. FD

Thank you for the article, FUNSHIPFREDDIE. I found a way to read those articles again, even though, for reasons I don’t understand, the Mirror doesn’t want me to. LOL. I try to walk every day! I hope it is helping!

You are right, stitchicarol. I find being busy the best way to keep from eating too much and now that spring has spring, gardening is a wonderful exercise, too!

    Day 26 Pocket List
    @ccco

I have a wedding shower and a wedding in New York City in June. I am desperate to meet a few goals before that! 🤗👍

    Day 27 Auckland NFD 74.9kg

    What a stable week😬averaging 74.9kg…
The family have gone home – work and school on Monday – so I’ll be able to get back to my regular routine.
@ccco How inspiring – a NYC wedding!! Do you have a dress or are you going to get something new?!
@stitchincarol The Georgians in the 18C ate lemon posset too! What a delicious sounding menu. Insurance companies are becoming more and more invasive in our lives… Because of natural hazards – flooding, earthquakes and fire mainly our premiums are becoming ridiculously unaffordable…
@northgeorgia Great to hear you are still managing to swerve the soft drinks!! You sound like your decision making is getting stronger 💪💪
@funshipfreddie How many steps is a 30’ power walk? I have no idea about what 10,000 steps means but if it distracts you from eating late💪🤠💪
@jaifaim I laughed at your “it’s all about me” remark!! But you do need to focus on self in order to moderate behaviour. Great to hear your uniform pants are roomy!! I have gone to Levi’s USA 14 32Wx32L now which I’ll stay at I think for a while until I have dispatched more than 5 and up to 10kg. Using your experience as a guide it gets more difficult to loose and maintain the closer you get to 🥇
I’ve just had a call from my friend with Paisley the Scottie. They are having lunch on Ponsonby Rd, the chic clothing and restaurant/cafe strip and are sharing a beef and Stilton pie😛I’m going to charge up my bike and ride over there to meet up post pie…

    Steely Resolve!!
    Even at this late date😀

    Day 27 🇿🇦 Freedom Day – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD

@merryapple – well done for not losing the plot while you had visitors. That really is steely RESOLVE 💪 It’s so easy to be led astray when your routine gets disrupted. I’m not sure I power walk. I aim to walk briskly, but I think walking any faster than I do would take the pleasure from it. Sometimes I listen to a podcast while I’m walking. I think in 30 minutes I clock + 4000 steps.

@stitchincarol – that’s so interesting that you get rewarded by your insurance co. for reaching 10,000 steps. They don’t give away anything for nothing, which really illustrates how beneficial it must be. Although I’ve read more than once that 7500 steps is the ‘sweet spot’ for getting the most health benefits before they start to taper off.

Michael Mosley’s weekly column. I couldn’t read this though; says I need to subscribe – for a fiver per month?! 😱 Maybe you’ll have better luck depending on your location

    Day 27 UK NFD

Hi all , off for a walk to try and clear my head , feel a bit emotionally drained at the mo, catch up tomorrow

Have a good day all ☀️

    2nd Post – Day 27

    @brightonbelle – hope you’re okay? 🤗

Not sure why, but I was able to read the M Mosley article on my phone. I was at a coffee shop, using their wifi. Don’t know if that had anything to do with it 🤷‍♂️

    Day 27 – USA/GA – NFD

Weigh-in: 232 lbs. Blah, but same as last weekend. Still soft drink-free. @stitchincarol I will look to see if I can find Spindrift! Never heard of i, but sounds interesting.

I was watching a video last night that dealt more with diabetes vs obesity, but I think the two are related concerning blood sugar spikes and insulin resistance. Of course, the best thing is to eliminate or choose “better” carbs, but one thing I had forgotten is to “never eat naked carbs.” In the video, the person measured his own blood sugar. He showed how he ate a ham and cheese sandwich, and some potato chips a few minutes later, and it really spiked. It later showed how he ate the same ham and cheese and bread (toasted) at breakfast, but with eggs as protein, and there was hardly any movement upwards at all!

Also interesting was the meal 1 + meal 2 scenario. If meal 1 is carb-heavy, the body is still in that mode at meal 2, and blood sugar spikes. If meal 2 is more fat and protein heavy, it is still in that model at meal 2, even if more carbs are consumed. I had heard this is true in regards to IF, too, post-FD. I think my problem this past week, after hitting my goal weight, was a lot of high carb foods right away plus naked carbs during my constant snacking, that skyrocketed my weight upwards.

I’m going to keep that in mind next week, but first, another B2B FD Sunday/Monday is planned.

    Day 27 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD – 162.4

Yesterday’s plans fell apart as there were wicked awful storms (homes in Omaha were leveled by at least two tornados, a huge business in Lincoln had the roof ripped off while 70 workers were inside [only three injured, and those not badly] and lots more damage in Iowa, just across the Missouri River that borders the east side of Nebraska), the phone/internet man came to install the fiber lines (I don’t think I’m giving that the right name, but whatever🤷🏻‍♀️😂), and because we were in a tornado warning (although all we got was heavy rain and some flickering lights), DH brought his student here instead of doing the class with him at church (which was sweet, but certainly interrupted my day), and then I had a weird thing of racing hart, ravenous belly, and heavy sweat–a blood sugar spike, I suppose? So I fed my body and then wasn’t hungry to go out, plus who wanted to venture out when more storms were coming?

As I said, plans fell apart.

And then I woke up with less than 7 hours of sleep and couldn’t get back to sleep for the needed 8 hours…except that means I woke up at 4:45, an ugly-early time to wake up, LOL! So I have time to post this morning.

@brightonbelle What’s up? I’ve been thinking things were not okay with you for awhile now, because your posts have had a different tone. We’ve maybe none of us met, but that doesn’t change the fact that we all care; do feel free to share whatever is troubling you and lean on our shoulders. ❤️

@merryapple I don’t mind this invasion by our insurance company, and in fact signed up for it; In addition to my $150-200 Fitbit (the third I’ve gotten either free or heavily discounted over the years), I also earn points by doing the online “classes” they have to help inprove our health, which is clearly a win-win thing. DH pays zero attention to the options, however, and they just leave him be, so there’s no real invasion here. Plus, it’s excellent insurance. 🤷🏻‍♀️ And, it’s truly impressive that you managed to do all that cooking and not gain back any weight; well, well done!

@funshipfreddie Yeah, I’ve read the same thing about 10K not being the actual sweet spot, and more than once I’ve seen 5K being a good place for my age. So I just keep moving and choose steps over escalator, and park far away, etc., etc., in an effort to get steps in even though I’m still not taking time to “go for a walk”…something I keep promising myself I’ll start soon. I’m guessing I’ll start next week, a comment I’ll explain next week as well.

@northgeorgia I only partially understood what you explained. Can you try again? Or give the link to what you were watching? Have fun with your friends tonight!

Did I mention I have a goal for DH’s Fair Isle sweater of getting 24 rows knit every 3 weeks? There are five rows that include white, and finishing that fifth row of white marks the 24th row and meeting my goal. The first deadline is this Monday (3 days) and I have 6 rows to get there, so it will be a challenge since I’ve only barely succeeded in accomplishing one row a day since I started this, but I’m hoping the meeting this morning will see me getting at least two rows knit…my fingers are crossed!

So many of you are quiet; I do hope all is well with you and you’re simply busy with life!

Okay, off to dry my hair and finish getting ready; have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 27 – Ireland – CD 🚫 ✅ 🚶🏽‍♀️ 🌾.
    156 lbs
See up by 2+ lbs overnight..
Didn’t make great choices yesterday.., tired and a little frayed… still happy with shape but… goes to show…how easy it goes back on… I could list what I ate but the list included: Rashers and poached egg, very healthy lunch, three milky coffees, a bounty bar and a big bag of crisps… et voilà! La preuve, the proof that our choices count. 🫢

@stitchincarol @brightonbelle’s FIL is not well and does not live near them so may be taking its toll or… maybe just life..
    thinking of you @brightonbelle 💕💕
I heard of the tornado @stitchincarol- hope you and yours are ok.
    Have to dash… with mum.
    Happy Saturday everyone!

Ps.. I can’t host May but will commit to host June 📬

Up early, today will be a busy day.
Like @stitchincarol, I do hope everyone is ok… this has been a tough year for sure… thinking of everyone and hope whatever is going on for you will pass or resolve itself soon.
Well done @northgeorgia on staying off soft drinks… 👏

    Take care all 💕

    Day 28 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – FD

@stitchincarol – those tornadoes must be terrifying? I hope you got a better night’s sleep? I had the opposite problem yesterday, when I woke up an hour later than usual at 8 am. Well, not a problem for me, but the cat wasn’t impressed. I don’t set an alarm because I usually wake up around 6:45/7 am if I’m asleep by 11.

@northgeorgia – I wasn’t sure what you meant either. Don’t the ham & cheese in the first sandwich count as proteins? 🤔

I guess I could get the ball rolling for the May Challenge if no-one else wants to? Thanks for offering to host June, @jaifaim. A BIG bag of crisps though?! What were you thinking? 😅 😱 Easy on/easy off 🤞

Ditch the duvet for a better night’s sleep..

    Day 28 – NFD – South Africa 🇿🇦
@stichincarol my son works in Lincoln and lives in Omaha. He showed us a video of the Tornado. It was scary. Apparently they are expecting more storms and possibly more Tornados. They got warnings. We are praying the damage is not too devastating and that no lives are lost.

    Day 28 UK NFD

Thanks for volunteering @funshipfreddie to host May , a very safe pair of hands

Oh my @stitchincarol – tornados ! stay safe

You’re right @jaifaim – both ILs now in care homes and both very frail , I really want to provide DH with some support but it’s difficult , I realise lots of people deal with worse things all the time we’ll work it out

See ya on the list tomorrow

    Day 28-No. VA USA-FD 800

Joining the pocket list today. Sunday fasting is relatively easy for me as we have no plans for things away from home.
Glad to hear you are OK @stichincarol. Tornadoes are so frightening; I know you people on the Great Plains are accustomed to them coming, but still, like hurricanes, they are so destructive.
@funshipreddie, although my daughter swears by her weighted blanket, I am much better with a lighter cover. Also, I wake up at 5 am pretty much every day. No reason. Perhaps I was meant to be a farmer and to arise with the chickens!
@merryapple, I like the expression “post-pie” and now I need to find a time to use it!
@jaifaim, I love potato chips (“crisps” as you say) and I pretty much never buy them, because I could eat a whole big bag by myself in no time. There is no weight to them, but they pack a punch of salt!

    Day 28 – USA/GA – FD

Weigh-in: 231 lbs. Had a protein and healthy fat (hello, avocados!) breakfast yesterday and saved the carbs to the end, which honestly I could have done without. Kept me full all day, but I had the outing with some former colleagues yesterday including dinner. I wasn’t too hungry, so dinner was light, and I’m down half a pound or so today.

@funshipfreddie and @stitchincarol Sorry! Sometimes I get in too big of a hurry and don’t explain well. Here’s the video, and at 9 minutes you can see the explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg0Y3eNSANg

Also @stitchincarol I found the Spindrift drinks, but at $8 a case (I think $1 a can), I’ll pass for now. I’d love to try a single drink sometime, but I haven’t had any desire to go back to soft drinks in the past three weeks. I know I’ll likely have one again sometime, but I think have kicked the habit again.

I have some potential this week for prolonged fasting. I’m going to try to figure out what to do, but for sure will get my two days in by Wednesday, could be three or ..hmm, maybe four if I throw in OMAD FD500s… I saw my photos from yesterday’s trip, and I have definitely gained weight back in the past two years. Got to reverse the trend and get back to my January pattern pronto.

Day 28 – Rural Nebraska, USA – NFD

A rare Sunday post, as I’m ready to leave for the recital, all dressed and gussied up, programs printed, gifts for the students gathered–and I have to wait 45 minutes before there’s any point in leaving, LOL!

@jaifaim My weight frequently fluctuates by 2 pounds overnight–and sometimes far more. Far more is usually because I ate so badly, “only” 2 pounds is usually because I put food back into my body after a WF. Whatever the real reason you shot up, you know it will be easily dispatched this week.

@brightonbelle Oh, of COURSE. I forget such details of people around me whom I see daily, so I hope that makes is seem reasonable that I could forget so rapidly what was going on with your inlaws. And BOTH are frail? That makes it doubly hard, doesn’t it? ❤️

@funshipfreddie Thanks for taking on May! As to tornadoes: I’ve never actually been close to one, despite 38 years in the Midwest, so my only experience is with the winds being strong, and the temperature doing an abrupt drop from shirtsleeve or hotter, to something that feels cold. (In other words from 70-100, depending on when we are in the year, down 20 or more degrees…which makes sense if you know F, and is why I tried phrases like “shirtsleeve”.) But the videos are terrifying, and my heart aches for all the damage. A man at church said his sister who lives in Iowa, less than two hours from us, had a neighbor a mile or two away whose house roof was torn off and whose barn is simply gone. Entirely. And the sister had zero damage. Crazy stuff.

@leoniraats Wow, Omaha and Lincoln??? Too funny; I wonder if I’ve ever seen him and didn’t know. 😉 I’m glad he’s okay too.

Thanks to those of you who also commiserated with me about the tornados; we truly had zero impact, for which we are so very thankful. And, @northgeorgia, thanks for the link; I’ll watch it tonight when we get home from Omaha.

I made great progress on my knitting yesterday and have only 2.5 rows to go to be at my goal by tomorrow evening, so that’ll be a piece of cake. Then the next 24-rows-in-3-weeks-race begins! 🧶😂🧶😂🧶

    Have a grand one, everyone!

    Day 29 UK

Sorry I’ll be missing today MIL passed last night , travelling up to break the news to FIL

    See you soon

    Day 29 – South Africa 🇿🇦 – NFD 70 kg

It was good to see another Sunday pocket list & I hope my fellow-fasters are basking in Monday morning PFDS 💪 A couple of sensible CDs should see me ending the month pretty much as I started it.

@northgeorgia – thanks for the link. I didn’t know some proteins like cheese can also contain some carbs. But it makes sense – lactose is a sugar.

@excelsior12309 – 5 am?! 😱 I could handle that, but only if I was asleep by 10 every night. Now that I’m retired I’m awake far earlier than I ever was when I was working 🙄

    @brightonbelle – thinking of you & your DH 🤗

I’ll set up the May Challenge later today or early tomorrow. Could someone please set up a spreadsheet for ‘Mindful May’?
