  • US Day 10- FD

Good fast day… Feeling great with the two fast days in a row. Looking forward to going out shopping tomorrow! Goodnight/morning everyone!

    Australia – Day 9

Fuvvie – A huge congratulations – you have been smashing it this week 👏🎂🎆🎊🎁🎉 Good job!

An eating day today. My ex horse got collected today so hopefully peace will reign on my farm again. Planning on starting to paint the chook shed today.

    Day 10, Québec

    NFD, nothing special to report.

UK day 9 – NFD. Up early to try to finish work so that I can take the rest of Saturday off. Hope to combine eating well and eating sensibly!

    Croatia, Day 9, NFD
    Weight: 78.8 Kg

California, USA day 10. NFD today. All is well. Wishing everyone a great weekend.

    Day 9 Sussex, U.K.
NFD today. Weighed in. One pound gone. Have gone into the next stone bracket. Started 5:2 back in June at 13 stone 9lbs. Today I am 12stones and 13lbs. I think that is 181 pounds. Haven’t been there for a long time. Do hope we can keep going with another challenge to follow on. I feel it has helped enormously.
    Well done everyone.

    Italy Day 9 – NFD
We’re going out tonight so i plan to keep it light during the Day. Had a sneaky peak on the scales, they’re going in the right direction, Lets just hope Fast enough to make 6 lbs!

I was quite controlled yesterday, was a little worried i might eat a lot to compensate for the liquid only Fast, but i still felt completely in charge and clocked up 15,000 steps as well!

    Great job Fuvvie…we got this!

Uk day 9 August 13th Weighed in at 11.7 this morning (161lbs) so pleased with that but need to really focus for next week and make every day count if am to meet target. But even if I don’t I will still be a winner so win win.

Now having bacon, scrambled eggs, tomatoes fresh from garden and low gi toast yum yum the thought of it is what kept me going lol

Ireland day 9 nfd weighed in this morning and stayed the same a bit disheartening as I feel I’ve lost and my son greeted me at the door last night with ‘you’ve lost loads of weight its really noticeable’ but its hard to accept when its not showing on the scales….may not have lost but I didn’t gain so all good really…have a wonderful weekend folks

UK day 9 not as good as I planned yesterday , but reading through the posts I think some of you have been there and I agree I’m just going to try my best ,not obsess on the NFDs and I will get there – eventually . I’m much better Mon -Fri and I’ll give it a good go next week to try and pull in some numbers for the 4lb team

Day 9, Gloucestershire (Cotswolds) UK: Non-fast day. Weather; warm, sunny and breezy.
Yesterday’s 36-hour water-only fast was successful. The third this week!
Well done fellow successful 36-hourers. It does seem a good way, but tough.
My problem is the eating days, especially like today and tomorrow when I am at home all day. I find it hard to resist constant snacking.

Who is up for a 36-hour fast on Monday? It’s my day off work that day, so I’ll need all the support I can get.

    Gozo, Malta

ETJ I ope you are finally well and your neck doesn’t pain you. Have a peaceful weekend.

Coda you’re doing really well and your weight shows it. I think we are about the same weight. I’ll weigh myself next Tuesdy though. I still don’t know if I can register a 5 lb loss on 23 rd August for this count down.

    Back2thefuture keep strong.

Today is a nfd for me. I tried to eat sensibly with rest of family and had my light cappuccino plus two cereal biscuits at total 170 calories. No pizza for me this evening.

Have a great Saturday everyone. Keep up the good work and enjoy the weekend.

    Day 9 Minnesota, US NFD

Soon to break my 40 hour liquid fast (coffee, tea and water). The second one for me. It was a little harder, as I was hungrier this time, especially around midnight. Maybe because there was only one NFD day between them and I did not eat up to my TDEE that day? Ciren2 and ETJ, I don’t know how you do it 3 times a week and every other day, respectively! I thought of you both staying strong and it helped me get through. Again, once I got to sleep, I slept really well. And not hungry this morning.

Weighed this morning and down 1.8 pounds for the week, so total is 2.8 for challenge. Almost there! Funny though, that I weighed the same this morning after my liquid only fast as I did yesterday morning after my low cal NFD. Salt? Goes to show that it’s not just a matter of food intake the day before that influences the scales.

Big dinner plans and some indulgences tonight so I’m hoping to stay reasonable and not back track.
Good luck to my fellow 3 pounder team mates, and everyone else. Have a great weekend!

Day 9: Pacific NW USA (traveling), NFD (last one of our 4 children’s wedding day!)

My weight loss goal for the last 2 weeks was to lose 5 lbs. It was the first concrete goal I had set during this 3 month journey because I was afraid of failure. I said if I didn’t make this goal I knew I would get further than if I hadn’t aimed high – and I just weighed in with a 4.6 to 4.4 lb loss!!! Yes, the tenth of pounds are important (I weighed myself 3 times and had slight variations)! So I’m still going to work at making up the tenths and keep my overlap goal for my team’s 5 lb loss over this 14 day team challenge too.

All day happenings with 4 of ourchildren with their spouses, 8 grandchildren (one still in the tummy), both OH and my exes, and a cast of wonderful people coming together very soon.

Fuvvie – way to go gal!
Coda – thanks for your wishes, think I’ll be ready for 36 hour fasts next week, once again thanks for upping our game!

US, Day 9, FD….too hot to eat. Up at the country house on vacation. No AC. Sticking to seltzer for now.

    Day 9 USA (Utah)

YEAH! Put me in the 36-hour club! I managed that for yesterday + 12. It really wasn’t as difficult as I thought it might be. Kind of hard watching daughter eat her supper last night without me, but I managed.

Northern Dawn – I even managed a good night’s sleep last night. Yes, we ought to get together some time 1/2 way between IL and MN and have cheese popcorn, etc.!

NFD today, and I have tried to map out my FD’s for the rest of this month. I will see if I can manage another 36-hour one again.

SongBird: You’re on. Monday…36 hours. I count it from the evening before (Sunday) till Tuesday breakfast.
    Anyone else?

Yes Ciren2 count me in – monday is my usual fast day. I think I prefer doing 2 extended fasts rather than 4:3. It’s easier to keep on track lol you just don’t eat!

Well done Songbird. Northerndawn and a well done b2tf be very proud of yourselves hugs all round.

Anna6 please don’t worry if you don’t attain your ‘goal’ by the end of challenge, you will get there! It was just something to aim for, something to focus on – as long as you tried it is no biggie it is just a bit of fun. This actually took a good while for the penny to drop with me. I would set a goal and maybe life got in the way and I didn’t make it. So started the ‘I failed’ so I comfort ate then I eventually picked my self up and started again. It has been a learning curve. Now I know I will get there maybe not on the date I set but I will get there.

All my fellow fasters maybe you don’t realise just how successful you all are! When I posted my invite for a May challenge I think there was 90 odd people signed up. A lot dropped out, you succeeded. Same happened for next challenge and even though I extended the 4 week challenge lol you have stuck with it. I have said it before you are winners. Be very proud!

Coolcat the scales sometimes do not reflect what is going on. They are only one indication. How lovely that your son noticed. What if the scales had said you had lost but he hadn’t paid you that compliment – I know which one I would prefer lol. Don’t be disheartened you are doing great x

Ciren2 – I will be so ready for a 36 hour – I’m joining you et al for a FD Monday (dinner Sunday night then liquid only till Tues) as we travel back home.

    Day 9 Cornwall UK.
Home again! A good fast day 3rd this week. I discovered mediterranean cauli rice in a packet under 100cals, that with a hard boiled egg and salad filled the gap nicely!
Next week I’ll have to fast Tuesday and Thursday due to social events, all involve eating so have to be really mindful! Looking forward to weigh in tomorrow morning.
Fuvvi – you rock! So close to this target and a big milestone!
Good going HollyLJ any downward trend is good however small!!

No 36 hr water fast yet, just can’t manage it next week! Really admire those doing 3 per week.

B2b have a wonderful time and enjoy the celebrations!

    Good night all, stay strong!

Not sure of the day, U.K. Nottingham.

Just at my friends using their wifi, ours is still caput!

I’ve had a shocking week food wise, I have been bitten on the arm which had turned septic, on antibiotics, still looking looks gross. The only problem is that it has bitten me on my arm where I had all my lymph nodes removed, so I’m at a very high risk of lymphoedema, so they are keeping a watchful eye on me 😫😫

    California Day 11 FD
The last 3 days have been cakes, candy, parties for my retirement and I ate a lot. Need to fast today at least. Anyone want to do a 48 hour fast with me? I want to get back on track- ate so much junk but it tasted great.

    Welcome home Rocy65

Ciren2 i’m up for another 36 hour liquid only Fast, even if it is bank holiday here in Italy.
    Buona notte

    Day 9 Los Angeles. NFD.
Way too busy today. Going to a big family party soon and there will be way too much great food and drinks there. I will be strong but certainly not a martyr!
Hopefully I’ll have time to catch up here soon. Hope the weekend treats everyone very well.

    Day 9, Québec

My Saturday is turning out to be an extra FD this week. That is if I am able to resist the Sangria that my sister is bringing.

Jayneyb69 what a bad luck with your arm. Hope you get better real soon.

Pollycosmo Congratulations on your retirement. I am retired since 1 1/2 year and I still am on a party feeling. Just be very carefull because the occasions to have a drink are plenty . There is always an event to celebrate. Enjoy !

Wishing you all a very nice weekend x

    Day 9 – USA – NFD

I ran 7 miles this morning with my group and felt great! I had speghetti last night and a banana this morning. I need my carbs for long run days!

Today was also my weigh in day and I weighed first thing this morning. I’m at 153.8. I’m not sure what day my starting weight should be for this challenge. Did it start after the last challenge or after the short count up that we did? Guess I’m confused. Either way, my weight is going down! I’m wearing clothes I haven’t been able to wear in a while. I love it!

US Day 9 – NFD. Still visiting family for the weekend. Eat far more than I should have this evening. Back on track tomorrow.

    Australia – Day 8

Jayney – ouch! I hope you’re OK? Did you get bitten by a spider? I hope your recovery is swift!

A fasting day today. I used a full 4L tin of paint yesterday on the chook shed and still didn’t manage to paint one of the sides. I am very happy with the colour though. We need to go to town today to buy more paint and hire a wacker packer for the gravel. I thought my arm was going to fall off. I knew it wasn’t a good indication when it started hurting after about 2 minutes, lol. But I kept going! It will still need a second coat and I still have to do white on the surrounds. Still, I can see that my vision is coming together!

Have a good day all 🙂

    US Day 9- NFD

Down for the week. Will catch up tomorrow. Night all.

Sunshine Coast Aus Day 8: I expected the scales to go up, but they only went to 105.1 kgs. So I am really pleased. Another 36 hour fast but I feel quite hungry today. Have just had 400 MPs water with a cap of Apple cider vinegar. It’s very refreshing, even in still water.
JaneyB69, that’s really unfortunate about your arm. Do you have a compression garment for that arm? I hope your infection settles quickly without adverse effects.
Well done Lisahawk. Weight loss, increased fitness and ” new old clothes” . You are the full package.
Good luck tomorrow with 36 hour liquid fast HollyLJ. I’m on mine today. Really want to consolidate last week’s loss. And same to ETJ, Ciren2 and Coda.
Nothing like settling back into your own home Rocy65, no matter how much you’ve enjoyed the time away. Have fun on your social occasions.

Ciren2, Holly LJ – – will join you for another 36 hours starting Sunday night. I had originally thought Tuesday would be my next fast day, but Monday will work. Is anyone else joining us?

Thanks so much for your kind support, Coda!

Jayney – wow. Hope your infection is no further problem and the antibiotic does its trick!

    Croatia, Day 8, NFD
    Weight: 79.1 Kg

UK Day 8 – FD. Considered trying out a 36 hr fluid fast…but then remembered that my Sunday fast ends with my husband cooking fish and rice which is so yum…I’ll save the fluid option for another time! I weigh in on a Sunday at the start of my FD and I’m back under control and gradually losing the pounds I had lost by the start of the summer, so really hopeful of reaching my mini-target by the end of this wee challenge.
Good luck to those doing the fluid day.

    Day8 Sussex U.K.
NFD for me. Off to the beach with family and friends. Lovely day.
    Keep strong everyone.

    Italy Day 8 – NFD

Got a birthday lunch today, Lets hope Its not all pizza and pasta!
Ready to stop eating after about 8:30pm, i actually can’t wait, whoever would have thought that i’d be looking forward to starving myself!
JayneyB69 look after yourself, my mum gets infections every Now and again in her big arm, its so painful

    Day 8 Cornwall UK.
HAPPY weighed this morning and 146.2 so 3.4lbs to meet challange target, hope I can make buddies pround. May have to go water fast to achieve !

Today a long bike ride and taking a picnic. I will have a GT or 2 this evening.

Janey hope you’re arm improves soon , sounds nasty!
Fuvie and Holly were really on a roll!
Lisahawk brilliant! fitness and smaller clothe, so motivating! Happy running!
Etj I bet your arm aches but think of the cals you’re burning!!

    Happy days, stay strong!!!

Day 8: Cotswolds UK: Non-fast day.
The 36-hour team is building for tomorrow! Songbirdme, Coda, Back2thefuture, HollyLJ and anyone else joining us. Starting this (Sunday) evening, finishing Tuesday breakfast. Water or liquid only.
Now I know you are all doing it I MUST too….even though it’s on my day off work.

UK day 8 NFD today, had a wardrobe sort out yesterday, and very pleased that I can get in some clothes I haven’t worn for a long time, when I look in the mirror I’m surprised that I see a slightly
smaller version of my old flabby body , I thought there was a lean, taut version waiting to pop out, ah well better keep going with the exercises

    Gozo, Malta

I’m taking my son and his schoolfriend for a breakfast at mc Donald’s next Wednesday and would like to join them too. So today I’m fasting instead of Wednesday. Tomorrow will be a fast day too for me and husband.

Yesterday evening I had a dessert a chocolate baci cake and didn’t have anything else. So I hope I kept to my TDEE.

Thank you Coda for your encouragement. Back2thefuture I hope you enjoyed your son s celebrations. ETJ I hope your arm is better and your shed will soon look lovely though you need to put in more work.

Jayneyb I hope your medicine will heal your arm and take care.

This evening I might go to see an animal show there is in Victoria, Gozo in celebration of tomorrow’s feast of the Assumption of St Mary with one of my daughters. Tomorrow is a public holiday here in the Maltese islands. So I won’t babysit my grandson tomorrow as my daughter doesn’t work.

Keep strong everyone and have a lovely, healthy Sunday.

Surrey UK Day 9? Quick check in, on the run here! Sorry for not posting yesterday, my daughter is keeping me very busy.
Weighed in yesterday morning, after fast day, and 1.5 kgs down, so very happy with that, just want to stay on track. I will have time tonight, I hope, to read all the posts.

Day 9 – USA (Utah visiting)

NFD for me. Quick check in before starting activities. Think we will go exercise before heading to church this morning.

Looking forward to joining our little group for 36-hour liquid fast tonight through tomorrow. I agree with Holly LJ that who would have thought I looked forward to starving myself? 🙂

Day 8 (day after wedding), Pacific NW USA (traveling), NFD

Yes, Rocky65, we did it, we got them hitched. Every little detail was beautiful, beautiful day, beautiful bride. Step son’s mother (yes, OH’s ex) surprised me by inviting 4 very dear mutual friends that I haven’t seen since the 80’s! I said I felt like I can now say I believe in reincarnation! They live on the other coast of the USA so we didn’t cross paths in all these years but for a few minutes in the midst of all the clamor it was like we had never been apart. Of course promises were made that we will stay in touch but one is a little older than the rest of us . . .

Yesterday was a very sweet day but now I have a day of shopping while OH and a long time friend of his have a guys’ day.

Many of the friends and family that we saw yesterday haven’t seem me since I was skinnier, so consequently I didn’t get compliments on my weight loss from them but I knew how proud I was that I was feeling so much better without 56 of the pounds I had put on. The support that this forum has given me that helped me stay on this 5:2 quest meant that you were all with me in spirit!

Now onward and continued downward for the next 44 lbs. Yes, I can admit to you all that my true hope was that I could lose 100 lbs on 5:2! Startling, I know, (almost as much as some of you weigh) but after all, I’ve made it this far and if I set a stretch goal I’ll probably acheive more than if I hadn’t!

Jayney – OMG, what bit you?

Polly – I will eat judiciously today and after dinner tonight will join the group doing a 36 hour fast till Tues AM. Do you want to join in with us then continue with me till dinner Tues night to make it a 48 hour liquid only?? Don’t know that this global time warp thing we live in means we are actually all fasting exactly at the same time but we do overlap and in our minds we are together! And again, 🎉🍾 adding my congratulations on your retirement!

Brighton – Congrats on the clothes re-fitting and I’m sure you will be able to build muscle tone back just like you’ve lost weight. I also see wobbles developing where full fat padding used to be. When I get back home I want to resume my fast strength and HIT. I’ve stayed very active chasing around with grandchildren but my time wasn’t my own to concentrate on my exercise goals this last month. Should we have some kind of bicep/triceps or other body parts (abs?) goal next to add to Coda’s planks and push-ups?

Australia Day 7 FD Ciren count me in for the 36 hour liquid-only fast. I have to get serious with this or will spend my whole life regretting my weight.

Hannah, you’re in! Starting Sunday evening to Tuesday breakfast, right? I’ve eaten my last meal, taken my evening 1-hour brisk walk and started.
I make it six of us (worldwide too) in this 36-hour team.

    I’m in.
    From California.
starting from monday, first feeding day.

California, USA Days 9&8. NFD both days. Trying to keep within my TDEE. Tomorrow will be a FD.

    Day 8 – USA – NFD

I’m fasting tomorrow too, but not planning to do liquid only. Will probably have soup late tomorrow. I’ll be thinking of all that are fasting! We can do this!

    Day 8, Québec

Yes, I was strong yesterday when my sister, just in front of me, had potato chips, sangria, wine, an ice cream cone, cookies and a complete meal for dinner. I stayed strong and did not take one single bite. A great big hug to myself.

However my weight is stuck around 130,2- 130,4 lbs. Doesn’t want to break the 130 mark.

So i’m planning for a 36 hour fast with Coda andthe others, starting tonight, sunday.

Tonight I will eat shrimps with brocoli and a little bit of pastas.

I might not reach my goal to loose 2 pounds but I know I will have done all my best.

Go go my fellow 2 pounders.

    Bonne journée x

Hi uk day 8 August 14th

Naz you are very welcome to join our group. Just jump in where we are although we are finishing this challenge 22nd August. Stay tuned though as we will have another in September.

Well done b2tf on even having the courage to put in print your goals. You have done so well and I have no doubt at all that you will get there. Just keep in mind how well you have done and set small goals rather than the ultimate one. You will soon be ticking them off.

Quebecoise just keep in there and you will be rewarded for staying strong – amazing willpower very well done.

Ciren2 I think you should be in charge for organising 36 hour fasts within the next challenges?

If anyone wants to incorporate a particular exercise for the next challenge speak up now. I confess I have let my planks and pushups slip so that is something I will have to work on.
