    A NFD once again. It’s my hubby’s birthday AND we are on vacation, so it’s gonna be double difficult to be strong in front of wine and a good meal. Anyways, I know I will have to fast a lot when I getback home.

    When to the funeral with my husband.

    Ate more, four figs with dinner instead of one and a slice of melon. Also while the spaghetti arrabiata was cooking I ate some broad beans in oil. So I might have at at TDEE.

    Tomorrow my husband, our son and I are going out for lunch and I’m choosing the restaurant not my son and his preference of Chinese food as next Tuesday is our thirty fifth wedding anniversary and we’re celebrating tomorrow.

    Back2thefuture sorry about your loss and hope you find suitable clothes soon after you start shopping. How often do you fast during a week? I try for 4:3 and it seems to work except sometimes I don’t lose much and I weigh myself once a week or the coming week after ten days.

    US SE Day 8, NFD. Struggling to lose this week although I stuck to the plan. Hoping I don’t let our 4lb group down 😩

    NFD for me. Beautiful day at the beach. Salad lunch. Rice and prawns for dinner with veg. One or two lovely bits in between but still within Tdee.

    What a difficult Fast Day…i didn’t handle my calories very well and ate too early. Now i’m starving and i’m going to bed before i raid the fridge😵. I’ll probably dream of all sorts of yummy things.
    Rocy65 i doubt i’ll dream of fish and chips, even though i’m British i can’t stand them! Where abouts in Cornwall are you? I love it and am gutted that this year we can’t make our usual annual trip to st ives.

    Day 6 California
    Yesterday was a fd but I woke up at 3am and had to eat. Had eaten only 3 apples all day. Then, today, nfd- pasta for breakfast- then wedding with all the bad stuff. I’ts ok- forgive myself always- and everyone else too.

    California, USA. Day 8. Today us to be a FD. I will see how the evening goes. Starting to feel hungry. I had bone broth and cucumbers for lunch, I am planing miso soup and salad for dinner. It’s time to stay strong.

    Sunshine Coast Aus Day 9: overcast and cold today. Managed to control myself well at the party. Desserts looked delicious with sticky date pudding and butterscotch sauce, cheese cake, Black Forest birthday cake but….drumroll….I resisted all of it. Told them Rocy65 and HollyLJ were relying on me! Thank you for both being there with me. Did have some champagne but danced a lot once the music started. Thank goodness I can’t see myself as it is my younger inner self moving and grooving to the music. Probably far removed from the reality. 107.2 kgs this morning. Up 100 gms only so should easily reverse that today although going out for lunch.
    Australia just tied with Germany in the women’s soccer. Very good game to watch. Very colourful opening Anaide. Hope your injuries are coming on.

    Still Day 8 here. FD ?? Grilled salmon and veg with daughter-in-law. She didn’t know that was the same thing I had at the restaurant last night but both were delicious.

    Thank you Northern, Anna and ETJ. I’m still obsessing about the shopping I still have to do because I had finished everything! With my daughter’s fashion help and my new size (!) I was all set! Hubrous?

    Anna – I fast 2 days a week, usually total liquid fasts, but sometimes not if there’s an “occasion” when I have one meal. This week was 2 1/2 days because I had a b2b and a 700 cal day yesterday. On NFD I usually eat about 1200-1500 cal except on “occasions”. I weigh myself once a week. I have not eaten simple carbs (sugar, rice, potatoes, etc.) since end of April when I started 5:2.

    Probably went over a little today but expected to overall. Lost a pound this week and plan on doing 4:3 next week. On track for my goals. Lets go 3lb. group!

    Watching the cycling, Rio looks an amazing city, it is breathtaking.
    Pollycosmo it might help you to read what everyone eats on their FD, i never eat Fruit – too many calories and really get my juices going!

    Fuvvie i think you were amazing, i’m not sure i could have resisted a spoonful of sticky date pudding! This buddy system really does help when there is temptation to be had – nice one Coda

    Planning on beans on toast for lunch♥️ And then a big feta cheese and tuna salad tonight leaving room for a glass of wine too, it is the weekend after all!

    Day 9: Gloucestershire (Cotswolds) UK: Non-fast day. Crashed and burned yesterday, my supposed “fasting day”.
    I was ok until about mid-afternoon, nothing since the evening before….aiming for breakfast the following morning, then….I don’t know what happened. The familiar story, I start, so I might as well go on eating, and eating…
    Anyway tomorrow is another day. Monday is my usual fast-day and I WILL succeed this time. Otherwise I feel I’m letting the side down.

    Surrey UK Day 9 Fast day went okay yesterday, in the evening had a bean soup made from the 5:2 recipe book…I think that took me over the calorie limit. Have a good day, everyone!

    ETJ how do you fast? You’re in the 5 lb group with me. I hope I won’t let you down 5 lbs buddies. Back2thefuture you are successful on 5:2 fast diet. Coda how much do you fast? I know you do liquids only fast sometimes andI admire you for it. This week I might not fast 4:3 as my usual day I’m meeting my schoolfriend from Melbourne one last time for lunch before she heads back to Australia. I might fast half day on Tuesday and half day on Wednesday too, that will amount to one full day won’t it?

    We picked a restaurant with the view of the harbour for lunch. We will be going soon.

    UK day 9 another NFD for me, hope to be better than yesterday , I was doing quite well until I got the urge for cheese after dinner, so still under TDEE but not what I hoped for , but I’ll have a good day today gearing up towards a FD Monday which will be the start of the countdown and I’m going to make a concerted effort for the 4lb team

    Anna6 – I do water only/hot tea fasts, and I alternate fast. Don’t worry about letting me down, I’m a bit worried I’ve bitten off more than I can chew, lol. I am just praying I don’t have stalled weeks ahead of me! I seem to have decent losses followed by stalling… Not much I can do about it, lol. We all just need to do our best and the pounds will fall if they choose!

    Coda – seeing it in print scares me! How many days to go? Not enough! haha! Can I change to the 2 pound group cause I’ve already reached it? lol. What got into me to say 5 pounds? How much is that in kilo’s again? lol. It sounds like a lot!

    Day 9 USA (Illinois)

    NFD – big concert directing for me this evening. The heat spell has broken and it ought to be a beautiful time at the park bandshell.

    I can tell it has been since Wednesday that I fasted. I’ve eaten things I almost never do since then, and too much salt. I am anxious to get back in the groove of loss!

    Hi Anna6 I fast Monday and Friday I now break my monday fast on tuesaday lunch time and begin my Friday fast on Thursday after lunch and end it Saturday morning.

    You will not let anyone down this is just a bit of fun and to sharpen everyone’s resolve for my last challenge. I found knowing Ciren2 was doing an extended liquid only fast at the same time helped me succeed. At the end of the day our bodies let go at their own time and there is nothing to say on the day, the scales will or will not show the loss. So please don’t get too worried about this. Just do your best – just a bit of competition to keep you focused.

    Songbird hope all goes well with concert and enjoyed by all!

    Remember all, even if you don’t get your target lbs lost everyone will be a winner!

    Los Angeles Day 9. NFD, though I’m going to try to stay well under my TDEE — I was a little lax on my NFD yesterday. On the other hand, I promised to help my daughter learn how to make ice cream today. FD mañana. Determination.

    Coda: So you are fasting for 36 hours tomorrow? I’m joining you. We’ll stay strong together.

    ETJ 5 pounds equal 2.3 kilos. Alternating fasting might get you a better weight loss I think. Coda you fast 36 hours and it is on liquids only I presume. I cannot do 4:3 fast this week as on Wednesday I’m going out for lunch with my friend. But I’ll try to do half a day on Tuesday and half a day on Wednesday with a total of 500 calories so I’ll still do 4:3 fast this coming week.

    Enjoyed lunch and it was a three course meal but I only ate some baked potatoes and no wine or alcohol. To hear my son talk it seems that humanity will have had enough of living on this earth and will head for outer planet in the future. He loves to read about space and his favourite subjects are biology and chemistry. He thinks I’m religious because I speak of God to him though he comes every Sunday to mass with us. This evening I might take a banana or an apple only.

    Tomorrow I babysit my six month grandson in the morning.

    HollyLJ – I’m near Penzance so St Ives isn’t far! I very rarely have f&c but homemade with scampi was yum! Not keen on the chip shop ones as too fatty!

    NFS today – really going for weight loss, I am on a mission! Yesterday did my Hit on static bike first think. later on OH suggested a bike ride and do our shopping, we did 12+ miles! Felt so good! Stayed well under tdee everyday, even with the fish and chips!

    Today we cycled (round trip 8miles) into See OH’s mother who is a retirement home, not the best visit – she is nearly 90 and very depressed. Has always been the most negative, pessimistic person so difficult going. OH is only child so everything falls to us. We do the best we can but it’s never enough!

    Well be away Wed to Fri visiting family but will continue the fasting, will be Monday and Wednesday and maybe Friday, will see how it all goes!!

    🍾🍾🍾🍾🎈🎉 so excited! Weighed myself today after a NFD and I am solidly done with the extra 3

    pounds I had put on during my road trip And I am solidly a 5:2 -er now! ADF was great to get my inflammation and symptoms gone fast but now I’m ready to focus on a couple good fasts and really healthy eating with a lil more flexibility.

    Gonna ride that momentum for my 2 lb loss from my pre-vacation weight. Those would be new numbers and I’d be super siked to see it!

    Consequences of my eating on my hubby’s birthday yesterday are not as dramatic as I expected. Very very happy about that !

    I will fast tomorrow, joining in with SlimnHealty. Other members of the 2 pounders with us ?

    Congrats Slim ( you may very well call me Q. May I call you Slim please ? ) for your weight lost. I’ll have to walk into your steps.

    Ireland day 9 nfd

    Weighed in yesterday and no weight loss…decided to kick start my metabolism with and day of not counting calories….have decided to not weigh myself everyday this week as I did at the start…roll on next week going for a 3-4 week to change things up…will be interesting to see the results

    Australia Day 14 (August 8) – FD. I am so looking forward to this fast day. I will do 36 hours, liquid only. I fly back home today and can’t wait to be in my own home and in control of my meals. My brother eats a HUGE amount of food and I know that I have over eaten too. He literally eats enough for 2 people at every meal and constantly snacks between meals. It is sad to see. And corrupts my eating plans as well. I say no to all the snacks but have eaten a lot of fried food over the last week and had dessert nearly every day!

    Australia – Day 14

    Anna6 – I have lost over 24 kilo’s now, so the weight loss isn’t as steady as it was at the start. My body will shed a bit and then plateau. It’s been doing that for months now, so I am getting used to it. I don’t mind because I can see my nice down ward trend on my tracker! I need to get down to 72.2kg in 14 days! My goal since June was to be under 75 by August which I had gotten to and under 70 by my birthday in October. I much prefer long term goals, because so much happens in every day life!

    An eating day today. Fasting went well yesterday. Was hungry all day, but got through. My son is having his first horse riding lesson today, we have a few delivery’s coming, kids have to do school, they have tennis lessons and I am trying to take it easy. Not much I can do about any of those things, but will rest my neck as much as I can, as it got much worse the day before yesterday doing the gardening. I could hardly move it or even get my head down onto my pillow when I went to bed. Hubby has banned me from doing too much, lol!

    Sunshine Coast Aus Day 10 ? Day 14? Ok. Had to get the calendar out and count backwards from 14 on the 8th to 0 on the 22nd. So I’m in synch with you now, HannahWatto😀 Also went back and saw where Coda had written that today was the Day 14. Just goes to show one may read the posts but not take it all on board till it hits you in the face.
    6lb buddies, I was strong on that night. But yesterday I went to lunch at a friends. We were served soup and jaffles, lime pie and ice cream. I felt as guilty as hell eating it and tried to just enjoy it and the two glasses of bubbles. Then close to dinner I ate a handful of nuts and a cold left over sausage. Dinner was 2 duck breasts and kale coleslaw, no dressing and a glass of red. So my strength was out the window. I was flavour chasing and may even have had nuts after dinner. Out of control.
    Today I’m on a 36 hour fast and WILL NOT deviate. All fluids. I want to get to 105 kgs come hell or high water as the saying goes. Soldier on everyone. Congratulations on all of your cycling Rocy65. Sounds great.
    HollyLJ, your planned dinner sounded much more appropriate. Here’s to the best week ahead.

    California, USA Day 9. NFD today. I have stayed within my TDEE. Tomorrow will be a fast day. I have been enjoying watching the olympics but it is creating an intense desire to snack in the evening. I will need to have veggies prepared to snack on. Fortunately I have no chips in the house at this time, but do have ice cream. Stay strong, 2 lb buddies, stay strong!

    Yeah! Concert went very, very well! Only a few raindrops but not enough to really hurt the concert. Maybe this link will post here from Facebook. Our beautiful park bandshell with me in the front of the choir.

    Extra post – I mentioned last Friday that my brother’s scales weighed 7.5kgs heavier than mine … well today I weighed my bag on those scales before again weighing it at the airport and, guess what, his scales are correct! I am devastated! I have told him to not lose or break those scales as I am going to weigh myself again when I have lost 15kgs and can see a decent – and real – number! Am also going to replace my own scales and update my profile which will look as if I have gained not lost weight but at least it will be correct for the next phase 🙁

    Day 9: Pacific NW USA, NFD

    Breakfast-blueberries and cream, lunch-grilled boneless, skinless chicken thigh and bell peppers, dinner-hamburger patty and big salad with strawberries after.

    Tomorrow I will change my FD to coincide with the 36 hour fastens (albeit a different time zone) with liquid only. It’s a shopping day, unfortunately, a repeat.

    Sorry for the sporadic posted, Virgn media have finally confirmed I have serious problem with my broadband and are sending me a new router! I’ve only been telling them for 3 months. So it will arrive within 5 days, so could still have problems unto l then.

    It’s a FD again today, hopefully get this lard moving!!

    Italy Day 14 – FD
    I had a really funny Day yesterday, no appetite at all i was almost nauseous. I couldn’t sit at the table and eat a meal so, had a few snacks throughout the Day. No idea why i felt like that. Fingers crossed for a better Day today.

    Fuvvie don’t be too hard on yourself, you’ll get right back on track. I don’t think i could do 36 Hours liquids only, god knows what I’d eat afterwards.

    UK day 14 FD Monday morning usual regrets as I look back at last week quite good through the week then blow it at the weekend I think rather than beating myself up I’m going to accept that the way I’ve been doing it will result in weight loss ,but at a slow rate and I’m OK with that . So coffee/water for me until 7 then I’ll have a nice meal, well done you 36 hours people ,I admire your determination ,at this stage it’s not for me though, Good luck everyone on our next 14 days

    First day and countdown starting, 3lb Asweet, Lisahawk, Northerndawn, Patti67…I think this is achievable and I feel motivated. Today is a fast day for me, and possibly Thursday. So no eating today, perhaps a soup tonight and that will be it till later tomorrow. Good luck all, and to everyone who is living this way!

    HannahWatto I now the feeling of gaining. This morning I stepped on my scales and registered 0.4 gain since ten days ago. I’m 71.9 kilos so have gained instead of lost weight. So discouraging.

    ETJ do take care of your neck. Rest as much as you can and don’t strain it. Seek medical advice if you persist in pain.

    Today is a fast day for me, my husband and daughter. My husband too registered a 0.3 kilo gain since last week. We ordered pizza yesterday evening and I only had one fourth of the pizza while my husband ate the rest.

    Day 14 Cornwall UK. On the countdown and down on the scales!! Yipee! 2.5lbs down so with the cycling and 5.2 I’m back on track!

    Ive been hovering around 150lbs for well over a month, going over / under, up and down! then down to 149.6 last weigh-in, so really had to knuckle down and get well below that stumbling block!

    I don’t normally weigh til Friday morning each week but couldn’t resist a sneaky peep today 147.2. So I’m on track. I am on a high!

    Thank you coda and buddies you have really got me motivated.

    Now off for another bike ride then some gardening, the sun is shinning!

    Fast day for me. I’ve started taking coconut milk with supergreens 70cals. This helps with constipation and is really good for you! OH calls it my ‘pond weed’!
