  • Day 22, Rocky Mountains, US, FD

    Hi Friends,

Happy Birthday Dr. Mosley!!! He turned 59 today!!! ⚘⚘⚘

Third day on 800 cal. I, too, have to say that the 300 extra calories are making a huge difference for me. So far, I really like it a lot. Seems all of us “guinea pigs” 😅😅😅 @flourbaby, you are so funny, are doing well. Definitely, @strawberriesandcream, @coda, @fatrabbit and I. @onahealtyhigh is not quite sure yet. I am curious about the reports after the last 800 cal day.

@snowflake: all the best for a speedy recovery.

To everybody who has an especially difficult day, I wish you all the best!

    Take care everyone!😊😊😊

    Day 22: Glasgow, Scotland. FD.

It’s nearly 4pm, and I’ve already eaten 450 of my 500 calories – anyone wish to suggest the most filling thing I can eat (but which only comes in at around 50 cals!)?

    Day 22 – USA – FD

On my 3rd of 5 FD’s this week. Next week I will probably just fast 2 or three days. I take plenty of vitamins and minerals. Drink tons of water, tea, a little bit of no sugar coffee in the morning. Today I’m in the burning of fat and dead pathogens (possibly asthma issues and Lyme disease issues) zone😊 This is the fun part for me. For the first day eating nothing, drinking water. 2nd day 1/2 cup of Kefir no sugar. I used Stevia. 4 raspberries
3rd day possible tomato and cucumber and little celery mixed up in the Ninja blender. Or I might (for the 1st time) make Kale chips. low cal.
Whichever one I don’t do today I could do tomorrow. Since I’ve been drinking so much water 💦 I don’t feel like I’m losing water weight. But then again I won’t know what I’ve lost until Saturday morning after my Fast is over. 😊Today I’m going to run some errands and walk today. Possibly get my fit bit up to 7,000 steps. Since my left leg is not very strong yet. It’s taken longer than I would like it to heal. People have told me it could take up to a year. It’ll be a year this May.
Side note my nose plugs arrived and they are very helpful. I use them when other family members are making delicious food that would other wise sabatoge my FD🤣

@jojo58 Very true and Inspiring!✨🌈Thank-you for your warm and caring thoughts.✨
@flourbaby Congratulations on your 4.2 lbs. loss ✨🎉 I love to read your posts, you have a great sense of humor! I hoard things also. And I hate that I have left over steak in the fridge that will be wasted because it will go bad before this weeks fast time, for me, will be over. But I will have to throw it away because I don’t like how much fat I see when I look in the mirror 😳Good idea to gift things if you can. ✨More good wishes to you on your Fast Day’s
@strawberriesandcream Very caring and inspiring posts to the group. ✨I’m thinking your pretty much as sweet as your name😊Thank-you ✨It’s nice to read all the sharing and positive, informative and inspiring thoughts from our group.😊
@obesa Congratulations ✨🎉That gives me information and something to look forward to. If, When I make it to maintenance. It’ll happen, it’ll happen, it’ll happen. Clicking my heals 3 times😊
✨Thanks @snowflake56 Oh Dear I hope your feeling better. Did you say your Hubby is a Dr.? Are you getting the help you need for a stroke? There are a lot of people here 🤞hoping you get what you need so as not to continue to have strokes. Glad to read you began to feel better. Don’t put preventative care off.💛💛In another vein. Great info that I will use for the konjac noodles and cauliflower rice😊
    @southcroydonkate✨🎉Awesome that you lost 2 lbs.😊
@lindasue Congratulations✨🎉on your great loss, even below goal weight👍

I just got through part of all the wonderful posts. I’m looking forward to be able to read them later today, to prevent a slump. The caring informative posts are so inspiring and helpful.✨🌈😊

    ✨✨Wishing Everyone Well Today😊✨✨

    @emme1956: a cup of strawberries or a few nuts; cup of chicken broth; lots of water, tea;

Good luck! You can do it!😊😊😊

@emme1956 Soup is best. Fills you up. Drink lots and get busy and you’ll be fine. And don’t beat yourself up if you go a bit over. Better 50-100 kcal over budget than caving in completely.

    Day 22, NFD, USA
Woke up not ravenous, which is a good sign after a FD. Craving a mug muffin and almond butter so that’s what I had. (mug muffin is made of flaxseed, no flour and low carb high fiber). I think my metabolism is getting used to ADF. The weight is slowly and steady, but clothes feel looser — losing it all on top — collarbone sticking out, but so is belly!!! (hence adding fermented foods, as my gut is probably out of whack… shifting hormones, getting to be that age…!
Scale down another pound, so slow and steady for this girl. 3 pounds this month; think I can hit the 5 pound mark since I feel more in control since starting this WOL in February.

Body is thanking me for feeding it healthily. In yoga class, my instructor asked us to hold up our arms above us in gratitude for the beautiful bodies we have been given. Just think all of all of the miraculous things it does for us. So, ladies, don’t forget to say “Thank you body,” today in gratitude, whatever size and shape it may be. It’s still blessed.

    Day23/FD/Melb Aus

    4th day @800 calories

Feeling less stuffed after yesterday’s low carb, vegetarian fast day. Lunch was a bowl of clear broth studded with mushrooms and zucchini with a little parmesan and chilli, followed by eggplant parmigiana for dinner with a side serving of spinach and onions. Finding it quite easy to follow but less satisfying then the original 5:2. Still not sure why I’m doing this. Can’t shake the ‘losing’ mentality. BMI is back to 22 which I’m more then happy with. (Starting BMI 29.4). Each week I buy a vegetable or fruit I’ve never tried before. This week I bought a purple cauliflower which I’ll serve as part of a salad with a vinagrette dressing for lunch. Evening meal will be based on salmon with a homemade yoghurt tartare sauce and a red cabbage slaw.

    @snowflake do take care.

Have a healthy and satisfying day everyone.

    Day 22 – USA – FD
    2nd post

@johnnyr Congratulations✨🎉on your 5 day fasting last week! Very Inspiring✨
@emme1956 ✨1-2 Celery stalks, it actually has less calories than it burns when you digest it. ✨Warm water with 🍋 lemon, Stevia ✨A favorite tea you might like with Stevia. 😊cabbage, broccoli, a couple fresh strawberries 🍓 with Stevia.✨a bit of cauliflower rice.✨konjac pasta with chicken broth.✨Do what you can don’t sweat it!✨The fact that your trying is Awesome 👏✨🎉
@erikaa67 Congratulations✨🎉on getting used to the ADF. For me that is huge😊

I read that brine foods like sauerkraut have better probiotics than probiotics and some Kefir. So as soon as I receive my cheese cloth in the mail. I’m going to make homemade sauerkraut. 😊 I hope it works out well.
    ☀️Warm Wishes to all FD’rs and ADF’rs and NFD’rs☀️✨

    Day 22: Gloucestershire, UK: CD
    Plan:
No eating after mid-afternoon. Went slightly astray yesterday…I carried on eating a third meal…oops!
FDs off the menu at present….simply don’t have the willpower at the moment.

Bert: Your extra 5lbs will be gone in no time….you have the POWER!

    Mrsgettingthere:
Hope you are ok today xx

    Day 23 – NZ – NFD

    2 nd post

Snowflake66-for goodness sake, why are you not resting after that terrible shock of a mini stroke? Please be careful! Wishing you well and a complete recovery.

Been very busy today, Dog walk, fitness circuit class, swimming, food shopping and hemming some seriously wide curtains. They have been hanging about 10 years, fashionably long before, now shorter and easier to hoover around. Playing bridge tonight to keep the little grey cells active.

SCS-I wish I was disciplined- this fast day did not go well at all. Seriously! a peanut butter wrap! WHY! I should have just eaten some nuts. Otherwise ok, just a huge salad with calamari. I may talk the talk but I also have weak moments just like my fellow fasters. No sugar products eaten though, some comfort.

    Prayers for London.

    UK
    Day 21 – NFD
    Day 22 – FD

First of 3 FDs (might be wishful thinking lol). So far so good, drinking plenty of water and teas, even treated myself to a highlights hot chocolate (38 cals). Have some protein for dinner which will take me to the 500cals target. Keep strong FD people!

    Day 2

    NFD

Well yesterday’s fast day went well. I haven’t gone berserk with overeating today either so all good.

    Another FD tomorrow

    Day 22 – Nz – FD
    Day 23 – ND – nfd

I am not a coffee drinker at all but discovered the cafe at work can make me one shot of coffee with cream and Stevia.really made the diff forvmevonbmy fasting day as had it at lunchtime.

    Day 22 Virginia USA, FD

Starting a b2b but still a long way from my goal weight for the month.

Good luck, Wed – Thurs fasters !

    @obesa

Lol! I stopped doing those high kicks years ago !!

That’s a fantastic result on your weight loss that’s brilliant. I’d be happy with a pound 😂😂😂😂

When you tag someone do they get a notification ? I can’t remember it being like that when I was on here before.

How has today been ? Tillergirl

I don’t know about tagging. I haven’t looked into that. I know you can be notified on a thread response but you would be bothered all day with that on this thread.

You should have put Day 22 (same as date) even though it is your second day as @at keeps a spreadsheet on what we are all doing.

I’ve seen how your day went further up, just hadn’t gotten me up that far !!

Terrorist Attack in Westminster, 4 dead and 20 injured. What is the world coming to?

    2nd post

    Very dear all of you,

didn’t want to upset you, I’m doing well and DH is with me all the time. We have everything we need in case of a stroke at home so the medical treatment can start as it begins, so we did yesterday. We agreed with the neurologist that we can decide when I go to hospital, had to do it twice until now. I have everything checked at least every two years and whenever I feel something is going wrong I can call one of the neurologists, go over to the hospital and have a check. The first time I lost the total ability to move my left side within 30 minutes and lost the ability to speak was very scary. They turned me upsidedown and couldn’t find out what happened, they had me tested on the weirdest diagnoses affecting the brain. Well I now know what I don’t have! After a week I could move most of the left side again, had speech-lessons and went home. It took a while to recover, the left side is still weaker, annoying because it’s my dominant side. My balance is poor, but I can live with it very well, you get used ti it and ajust. The small stokes happen every few months, it takes a while before everything is organized again, so no need to panic. I started to read all the posts from day 1 on and just had a laugh with DH about something LindaSue posted: “No S – No Snacks, No Sweets, No Seconds on everyday that doesn’t start with S (which would be Saturday or Sunday or whatever two days one would choose as their “down time” or Special days.” Well, I tried to say this line, but wasn’t able to, my S has gone, have no idea how to speak an s. But it will come back.
Thank you all again, you are such a caring kind of people, not just about me but to everyone with something to worry about. Hugs to all of you xxx

    3. post

Just saw jojo’s post, how terrible, losing loved ones is the worst that can happen to anyone.

    Day 22 Washington, DC FD
Hi folks. This is actually Day 1 for me.
    I am nervous.
I am 150 pounds and have 15-20 pounds to lose. 5’6″ tall. Female, 55 years of age.
I had a Dexa body scan done so I know exactly how much fat and muscle I have in all my body parts. Hope to see if the fasting can help me only lose fat but keep the hard earned muscle.

@snowflake wishing you a speedy recovery and sending positive thoughts and hugs your way xx

    2nd post

@snowflake56 I’m very glad you are able to cope at home instead of being stuck in hospital. Very handy to have your own doctor on hand! I hope everything gets back to normal for you soon. You are doing well to be able to use the internet so soon afterwards I would have thought.

The thing is London is horrible. The fact that my son lives in London and has been trying to get a job in Parliament makes it feel rather personal too.

800 calories is working well. I held off eating until I got my curry cooked so I could use it for both meals. I crammed in as much veg as I could to make it good and nutritious. Onions, chilli, ginger, red and yellow peppers, sweet potato, a bulb of fennel, tomatoes, fresh spinach and two types of beans. Yum. Worth waiting for. And I can have it again tomorrow.

@fatrabbit it takes a while to write, doing most of it with my right hand. How is your Dutch going on? Vind je een erg moedige vrouw en geniet van alle dierenverhalen!

    2nd post
Been to dentist, tooth out, implant in. Waiting for anaestetic to wear off. Could be a bit sore. On the upside fasting will be easy for the rest of today and tomorrow- no solids or hot food allowed! Today was a planned fast, tomorrow not planned, but I’m fine with it. Thanks for all encouraging comments. I am glad the ordeal is over (I think the waiting was worse than actual procedure).

Day 22 – SW WA USA – NFD

Making it a 16:8 here at the conference. Met folks from Costa Rica, Honduras, New York…. Love it.

    Day 22|Toronto|CD/NFD
Following the terrible news out of London today, sincere sympathy to any and all impacted by the insanity.

@snowflake56 Het gaat goed. Weten Duits al helpt. Ik ben blij dat u de dierenverhalen leuk:)

2nd post Day 22, from my beautiful, historic, accepting, multicultural; crying London – Onward, together we’re ALL stronger!!

@metatauta, didn’t you know, those outside mirrors are designed that way!!!! Just like the scales at the doctors’ (poor design), the skinny jeans in my size that don’t go past my knees (faulty), the kitchen scales (that is NOT a normal portion of rice………..is it???) The friendly home ones are a true reflection of yourself, also that short cut is going to highlight your cheekbones to perfection!!!!!

@arvandee, I food plan for the week ahead, with allowances for the inevitable detour, using MFP, it keeps me honest and if I have that sneaky biscuit on one NFD, then I lose something like a few cashews from my next NFD, I find balancing the entire week easier than kicking myself when I stray …………balance is key!!!

@snowflake56……………… good vibes heading your way, stay strong, rest & recuperate, personally I couldn’t have a doctor in the house, the poor man wouldn’t get a moments’ peace……………….”what do you think this is?”……………….. “Should that be this colour?”…………………………”just touch this and tell me……… does that feel hot to you?”

@erika45, hope the pain is bearable after the anaesthetic wears off, (early night??)……………..my mum refuses any anaesthetic when she goes to the dentist, he had to forcibly insist before her root canal in Jan, but nothing for fillings etc………..If I didn’t look like her I would wonder if we were related!!! I DO NOT DO PAIN!!…..……….so just give me drugs, and keep them coming!!!

    Peace everybody.

@erika45 I am glad it wasn’t too bad. I have to have a broken tooth extracted next Weds so I really needed to hear that. Thanks!

    Hi uk day 22 BSD

I hope all our posters living in London are safe. Thoughts and prayers to those killed and injured. Another sad day in this troubled world of ours.

    @snowflake wishing a speedy recovery x

@fayefaye 10 full push ups is a good start.

    @mizGizmo welcome back

@okeydokey what a horrific experience you had but dentists have changed so much since then. I am sure if you explained your fears they would be able to help.

Got my Amazon delivery magnesium flakes and glass spray bottle just need to get distilled water. 2 books ‘Gut’ – thank you jojo58 and ‘the house we grew up in’ thank you Fuvvie.

Had another good day on an allowance of 800. But who knew 100g of wholegrain basmati was 165 calories or 180g of homemade chicken curry estimated at 296 and that you dont get a lot. I like to eat what I make for the rest of the family. Had my kefir and chia seed again at lunch time but also had a piece of buttered toast as i joined a colleague while she ate lunch (memo to one’s self have my kefir first before going out and could have saved quite a few calories). I upped my water which was good. Only estimated calories for kefir pudding but I think I should be about or below 800. I feel i have lost weight, its a pity its damage control rather than making in-roads in reducing. Woke up in the early hours this morning which hasn’t happened in a long time. But overall for some reason i dont feel this experiment is hard at all. Whether that is a mind thing as i am not counting them as fast days and they seem more doable. Will be taking weekend off though as number 3 son is coming home for the weekend for One’s birthday and Mothers day.

    OH’s birthday

    @obesa

Oh yes I forgot the rest of the date. I’ll remember tomorrow. I’ve had to switch off the notifications …..92 !

I’ve pressed reply on your post so I’m just looking to see where it puts it. Under your post or right at the bottom of everyone else’s 😂😂

Ah, I didn’t think to do that. I will try with this one 😉

    March 23 NFD Sydney Australia.
    Ok so far!

    Not sure what happened there.

It seems to put it at the end of the thread but maybe it sends you on email.

Day 23- Queensland, Australia – NFD

Have a great day everyone, fasting or not!

    Day 22 – USA – FD/NFD

My heart goes out to ALL affected in the UK re: London attack.

@flourbaby, thank you so much for your compliment re: my cheekbones….it was quite a lift to get the cut I wanted and the color I wanted (highlights and lowlights, which covered the gray perfectly).

Re: my fast day today turned into a NFD….don’t even ask.

    Day 22 | FD | UK

2nd post – my heart aches for all of our 5/2 family in the U.K. & those who love & know the dear city & people of London. There are no answers & no comfort to be had. Once again, we are all left wounded. Hugs around the world & to all my friends here.

    2d post St Louis USA
I am agree with the other posts. Heart felt sadness and condolences. Have been in meetings and groups all day so not up on current developments. Prayers of comfort and healing.

    Day 22 : Cheshire, UK : FD

Unexpected liquid fast today. I’ve been so busy finishing things at work before I go on my holiday to Malaga on Friday morning, that it was relatively easy.

@at – From Day 24 until 2 April will be NFD. I’m hoping I still get notifications to my phone so that I can continue reading to keep me on track. I might be able to post from my phone too if there is wifi.

I will look for the April challenge. I’m not going anywhere. I need to learn the art of maintenance. Confession time 🙂 On Monday I ate 4 toffee cornetto ice-cream cones and last night I ate 3 white chocolate with almond Haagan Dazs Ice-creams. I have to say I did enjoy them but I can’t continue to eat like that especially just before my holiday. So I’m grateful for my impromptu liquid fast today. I will try and be mindful tomorrow.

Hugs to everyone struggling, not struggling, unwell and well. Love my virtual worldwide family. xoxo

    Day 22 – USA – FD

Terrible; the terrorist attack, saw it on news and from @jojo58. My heart is sad and frustrated at such violent and terrible actions 😰Wishing the victims and their families well. 🙏✨🙏
✨Welcome @mishka I’m pretty sure if you can keep doing the muscle strengthening exercises, you will keep your muscle. Maybe do them on NFD non fasting days☀️
@snowflake56 So sorry you can’t say your S’s. I hope speach therapy will help. Glad your OH is so prepared. I hope you and your Dr. Hubby can find what’s causing the strokes🙏✨🙏

    Day 22- NFD- Norfolk, Virginia

I’m not doing so good with fasting but I’m eating mindfully (except for the piece of ice cream cake I had today 🙄) I will be fasting tomorrow. I’ve been trying to do 16:8 on my NFDs to get my body used to it.

I’m so glad tomorrow will be a new day, I need to catch up with all the posts.

    Good day to all.

Thoughts and prayers with especially our London and UK posters.

    Day 22….Florida…..FD

It was so nice to fast today after a week of not. I did find myself, hungrier than normal but then again, I’m thinking Mrs. Grumbly Gut forgot what it was suppose to do, so it whined most of the day…..

I have decided though if I do go away for another week, I’m taking an extra day off. Mainly because I keep hitting my little toes on the darn suitcase, that I haven’t had a chance to unpack yet, that is sitting on the floor of the bedroom.

I really should take a few minutes to unpack it but I’m figuring if I just keep taking crap out of it when I need it. It should eventually be empty. Or one would hope so…… lol

Well, I haven’t had a chance to read everyone’s posts so, I should be able to respond to everyone in the next day or so….

Pissaupoosa…… so, nice to hear from you!

Okay well, my eyes are growing heavy, so off to dream land for me!

    Peace be with you!
