  • Day 20, USA, Missouri Ozarks, FD

    Today’s weight 143.5, below goal weight of 145.

    Made ham and beans nd cornbread for dinner – Missouri soul food….

    Back to my first of three fasting days, will feel good to be back in the routine. Lots of outdoor work yesterday, everything is starting to look so pretty. I went out late last night when all the porch lights and solar lights were on and just enjoyed it all. Spring in the Ozarks, redbuds and dogwoods – ahh, life is great !

    Day 20 – FD – Canada
    Lost my post trying to copy list of pocketeers to join group for today. If anyone wants to add me to list that would be nice 🙂
    Completely fell off wagon last week, utterly in dust. But was jolly for the kids who were home, they said they’d rather be here having play dates and watching movies and hiking with me than go on a March Break holiday so that’s a win!
    Plan to wisely wait (as per recent thread advice) to weigh until after I’ve two FDs (on M & Th) out from under my belt. Hoping to end March down at least 2 lbs.
    Happy Spring Everyone!

    Day 18 – CARDIFF UK – NFD
    Day 19 – CARDIFF UK – NFD
    Day 20 – CARDIFF UK – FD

    Starting Weight : 165.5lbs

    Today’s Weight : 165.5lbs March Target 8. 5lbs

    A nice weekend with daughter home from uni, but did result in unexpected takeaway, but doesn’t happen very often.

    FD have not produced the usual results in the last week, and in 6 days have gained 4lb, with only the one takeaway as a minor indiscretion. I do have a underactive thyroid, and had my meds raised six weeks ago, but have started to experience side effects in the last 2 weeks. My bloods generally look okay, but I’m not converting the hormone properly and have quite low iron levels, so from today have started iron supplements (GP) plus B12 and Vit D to try and get the most out of my thyroid meds.

    I’m really hoping these supplements start to have the desired effect (weight loss is just one area I need to improve).

    So, I think my March goal is not going to happen, but I’ll keep at it and see if things start to pick up in the next 2 weeks.

    Good luck to everyone, whether fasting or feasting.

    Day 20 – Queensland, Australia – FD

    Successful FD today (Monday). Thanks pocketeers!

    Going for b2b tomorrow (Tuesday). Anyone else?

    Happy fasting!

    Day 20 Tas Australia FD

    Joining with all the pocketeers today. Really glad for the company and feeling much better than expected.

    @goldensun your comments reflect what I have been thinking myself about where I am weight wise. I got to my goal before Christmas of 63kgs, which is a weight I was assessed for a few years Ago with a fancy machine at a gym to be a good weight for me. I think that it is but did notice that as I lost the last kg it seemed to all be in the breasts, which is really not a where I wanted to lose it. I feel that I still could use some tightening around my sides, though things are fitting so well really. I have been thinking that I need to step up my nfd eating to be much cleaner than the last few weeks. I went from reaching my goal to very busy Christmas holidays and never found a maintenance for myself, so am very keen to make that happen this time and just find some stability and better habits.

    Ooo please count me in for March challenge.

    I started at 1st March 2017 start weight 14.4
    Three weeks in scales read at last weigh in 13.5 and half
    This week will be my fourth week fast day 1 will be weighing in Friday after Monday Tuesday and Thursday fast.

    🙂

    Thank you.

    Day 20 Surrey UK NFD

    Can’t remember when last I posted, apologies! I will try and be more regular. Sorry if I am giving you headaches @at!

    3/20 FD USA, Wisconsin

    Today is Monday which is a weigh-and-measure day for me. I’ve been on this 5:2 WOL for a week now, and first week’s totals are: a loss of 5.2 pounds, and a total inch loss of 4.0 inches. I measure bust, waist, tummy, hips, thighs. I lost the most in my bust, of course, because that’s a fun cruel joke to play on women. I’m telling myself it’s back fat that I lost.

    I was a bit disappointed to see the number on the scale – 190.2. I posted on here how happy I was on Friday to see that 189 number because it had been months since I saw those digits, and I thought today that I might be even lower. A bit of a letdown to see that it actually went up a bit. However, when I did my measurements and compared to Thursday’s measurements, everything went down except the waist, which went up .50 inch. A bit of bloat going on there. Eh well, not going to stress on it. I’m in the negative and that’s what counts.

    Today is a FD. I feel down today – sore throat since last night, eyes all filmy, a bit of runny nose, achy. Damn. I love honey but I hadn’t had any since starting this WOL, but I put some in my tea last night to help with the sore throat. Not looking forward to this FD at all, but I’m not looking forward to much of anything. Really want to indulge in buttered toast. 🙁 I might make chicken noodle soup later with those Zero noodles, but that means a run to the store when I just want to lay around today. meh, we’ll see.

    I was thinking of some things earlier, about setbacks. For my own journey, I started trying to lose weight at the end of January, when I saw that 200 number on the scale and felt that shame that I let myself get to this point. I joined a gym and went all gung-ho for a good 2 weeks, lost almost 10 pounds in a month. But I pushed too hard. I have degenerative discs and reduced curvature in my lower back which causes issues (which weight loss will of course help with), and while sitting in a chair waiting for new tires to get put on my van, my back started spasming. Ended up not working out for a month and put 6 pounds back on. Week before last, went back to the gym on Friday and Sunday. Tried to take it very easy, but back still hurt … then Monday, woke up with a pinched nerve and giant mass in my neck, could barely move my head to the right without pain shooting into my neck and shoulder. Setback again. Today, a cold and feel like poo. Setback AGAIN.

    But … it’s what you do with those setbacks. Too often I’ve used them as excuses to stop trying, to give in to the comfort food, to say, Well, I tried, didn’t I, but look. I hurt myself. Even with setbacks, though, there are STILL things you can do to keep going, to persevere, to pick yourself up and keep chuggin along. So you can’t go hard core at the gym … go for a long walk. Eat clean. Every day is a new day and a new chance to work with what nature is throwing your way and rising on top no matter what. Effort always counts. I think I’m trying to pep talk myself here, lol, but it’s so easy (especially when it’s turned into habit), to slow down or stop progress when setbacks occur. I gotta stop that.

    So today, even though that number didn’t stay in the 80s, and I feel sick, and my neck STILL hurts … I’m not going to give in to buttered toast and ice cream. It’s going to be 50 degrees today – I think a walk is in order. I feel like I need to find peace with myself today and not much is better for that then a long walk outside.

    And if my cat could quit walking on my keyboard and sitting on it and creating crazy sentences, that’d be great. Ha!

    @pashaw – great attitude to have regarding weight, and changing goals and being positive. Very inspiring.

    @jojo58 – Chocolate is definitely NOT one of the foods that I consider garbage foods, lol! But I’m talking good-quality chocolate, not Hershey junk or processed food chocolate snacks. Lots of benefits to chocolates, too … but I get your point. For me, it would probably be mashed potatoes. Those are my bad habit. I load them with butter and cheese and stuff my face. That could be a quit cold-turkey food for me.

    A good snack I love is strawberries with goat cheese, walnuts or other nuts toasted with cinnamon, and I used to drizzle with honey but since I’m now watching the sugar, I put a bit of balsamic on there. If you keep portions small (or skip the nuts, too), calories are kept low and for me, totally satisfying. Also a slice of 45-cal wheat bread (no sugar, etc in the bread) with avocado and sometimes a bit of salsa on it. A couple mozzarella cheese balls cut up, with fresh tomato, maybe basil, balsamic.

    @fatteacher – I can’t believe you didn’t eat a single tortilla chip with salsa at the restaurant. Total downfall for me – I am in love with those fresh hot chips and salsa. Total willpower and good for you!Great job on ordering healthy. You can do this! For exercise, remember, it doesn’t have to necessarily be “planned out” exercise to get benefits. Things like walking to the store instead of driving, or parking waaaaaay far away in the parking lot. Me, I’ve been taking the garbage out instead of having the kids do it. All the little ways to add more steps and activity in your life count and add up.

    @fatrabbit – Ah, cheese. I, too, polish off cheeses and need to watch my intake of them. Wisconsin is “America’s Dairyland” and my love of cheese knows no bounds. Right now I have 3 separate new blocks of cheese in the drawer that I haven’t opened yet (one is an aged Irish cheddar – OH MAN), because I KNOW when I open and taste some, that’s it. Game over.
    Our relationships with our mothers are tricky things, aren’t they?

    Good luck to everyone fasting today. This is the first time since starting that i feel like I need some support on a fast day. Ugh.

    Day 20, London, UK, NFD,

    Swapping today and tomorrow around, as I’ve a yoga class tomorrow which means soup for lunch and bone broth just before class. This makes for an easy FD. I think it’s for the best, as I woke up this morning absolutely ravenous (maybe because TOM???)

    Good luck pocketeers, I’m with you in spirit!!

    Day 20 USA (Illinois) – NFD

    Still holding my maintenance of 160# today. Yeah for that! I know on this WOL every so often I will go over TDEE some, but I try not to allow it to be more than a couple hundred calories. And often it is from fat or carbs more than from sugars. Many NFD’s I am significantly under TDEE. 6:1 seems to be my best course of action on maintenance.

    @gopackgo & @fatrabbit – yes, cheese is one of the world’s best foods. On the HFLC diet it is allowed, but cheese & crackers doesn’t fly. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb is an example of it. I cannot sustain low-carb for more than a week without it seemingly effecting my thinking and organizational skills!

    Busy day planned so I will wish you pocketeers much success. Onward and downward!

    Day 20 London UK, FD

    I’m not sure when I last posted, so here’s the diary of FDs:

    Day 6 FD
    Day 7 FD
    Day 8 – 12 NFD
    Day 13 FD
    Day 14 & 15 NFD
    Day 16 FD
    Day 17-19 NFD
    Day 20 FD

    I must admit, I’m finding the FDs easier now and the side affects are lessening. I really hope I can keep it up. I’ve lost 5lbs in 3 weeks – I’m impressed with this given I’m not calorie counting on NFDs and still having a weekly eat-out or take-away. My aim is 1lb a week and to loose a stone between end Feb and my holiday in early June. Fingers crossed.

    Day 20 – London – NFD
    Had a good weekend and feeling light today. Having a FD on a weekend was actually easy in the end and felt good.

    Yesterday I made the ceviche from the 5:2 recipe book, it was lovely and as it was not a fast day, I added steamed sweet potato, sweetcorn and half an avocado on the side. It was very good and went down well with OH. Was busy all day with kettlebells, gardening, supermarket shopping, booked a short holiday to Spain with friends and even completed a 20 page mortgage form that I’ve been procrastinating over for a whole week! Didn’t think about eating rubbish at all and felt pretty chilled out. (even though somehow 3 toffee crisps ended up in the cupboard! Men!)

    I have drinks tonight with an ex-colleague who can be a bit out of control – Champagne on a Monday etc… he may have a job for me so I am keen to know more, even though I am not so keen to go drinking bellinis on a Monday night! – I will have to exercise some self control!

    @sirisan, congrats on losing an inch, you must be so happy!

    @jojo58 – I also love those little peppers – so good and would happily have those over chocolate, sweets or cakes any day! One other snack I’ve really been enjoying lately is pickled gherkins. They just add a slightly sweet / acid kick to any salad. If I do fancy something a little sweet I like a banana with a little almond butter spread across it. – By the way, the zero noodles were a big hit in our house over the weekend!

    @missymay, well done on your first half marathon! there is nothing like it, such an achievement. I hope you are feeling good today. (my 1/2 marathon days are over now and I stick to 10k now for the sake of my joints but I still get a lot of enjoyment and a good sense of achievement even from the shorter distances)

    @fatrabbit – Be kind to yourself, you are a good person and not unlovable. As you say we can’t change our past but we have the tools now to change at least one part of our lives. xx

    Have a great day all!

    Day 20|Toronto|FD
    Happy first day of spring ( told it is the 20th this year) with best wishes to all. A somewhat cold start to spring for us; this week promises -8 and +8 on the same day. In our climate spring resolutions for health and WOL changes make far more sense than New Year’s!

    Day 20 – Brittany, France – NFD

    Day 20: Glasgow, Scotland. FD.

    Day 20: NYC, FD.

    Day 20 Maine FD

    Need this FD – huge burger for dinner last night – still full. For some reason, having an issue w/copy & paste – but add me to today’s fasters!

    11 days left to the month – need to get real & serious – vacation or not – set a goal of only 3 lbs off this month, but not making much progress. I know I can do it – I do not want to have wasted the month as far as weight loss is concerned.

    Make it a great day everybody!

    @scs – a month with vacation and maintaining is a good month. I would not fret that you still really need to lose unless you are so determined!

    Day 20, Cumbria uk, FD
    Just a quick check in, I’ll be back to read everyone’s posts later. Good luck everyone xx

    Day 20- London – FD

    Day 20 NFD USA-WA
    After a weekend of traveling, eating out, and spending a long time in an airport yesterday (terrible place for a faster, never thought about how all people do in airports is eat!), I’m pleased that I actually lost a pound over the weekend. So much easier to maintain this lifestyle at home, but very good practice to do it while traveling. I’m proud that I was able to walk away from endless chocolate treats while at a weekend workshop, and focus on people and relationships rather than food!

    Day 20 – USA – NFD

    Day 20, Germany, FD
    Day 19, NFD
    Day 18, NFD

    Day21/FD/Aus

    Yesterday’s fast day was rather interesting. Decided to up calories to 800 now that I’m back in maintainence territory but found it less satisfying then normal. Feeling as if I overate. So have decided to try a B2B by limiting today’s eating to 800 calories. I’m trying to shift my mindset from a losing pattern to maintenance. I enjoy the health benefits from fasting but can’t afford to lose more weight. Never ever thought I would say that! Research suggests carrying an extra kg or two is beneficial to prevent falls as we age.

    Enjoyed reading everyone’s posts today. Stay strong.

    Day 20, Rocky Mountains, US, FD

    I decided to join you in your experiment @strawberriesandcream and go with Dr. Mosley’s new 800 cal rule. I will do it until Friday this week and then weigh in.

    Happy March Equinox! 😊😊😊

    Did anyone else find it interesting that there was no mention of eating to TDEE in Dr Mosley’s article?

    Day 20 – USA, PA – FD

    Hey 👋 All,
    Hope Monday is going well. If it isn’t so far, I hope it gets better. 😊 I was able to read some posts and I’ll continue to read more✨The posts keep me going towards my goal. ✨
    My weekend went well. My goal is to lose 6-11 more lbs. this month. Also to lose @ 40lbs by June. So far so good. I appreciate being able to read the posts and correspond back with the lovely people on this group.😊 I’m Looking forward to possibly having 4 maybe 5 FD’s this week. I might make Wednesday a NFD if it starts to get to me. When I reach my goal weight I will go on the alternating FD or 5:2. Also I’m only thinking a few days ahead, so I don’t feel boxed in. ✨ I really need to get the weight off. I started at 181 now at 170. Hoping to get to 131 by June. 🤞✨🤞Fasting is actually easier for me to do than eating then stopping. I’m sure I’ll get better at it. Right now, once I fast I’m fine and if I don’t eat anything that will trigger insulin I can continue to stay in that fasting state and burn fat and feel pretty good. I see a doctor regularly. I’m hoping this works out for me.😊
    ✨Blessings to all here on the Group✨

    @jojo58 A great snack food that isn’t going to ruin my weight loss? A slice or 2 of fresh avocado 🥑 or raspberries, blueberries with a splash of Kefir and a little bit of Stevia😊Thanks for the straight and optimistic words.✨
    @at Thanks for the supportive words! ✨🌈✨
    @georgia83 Hope your feeling better today. I live a long distance from my family and friends. ✨I do live with my husband and set of twins. Happy for that. But I go through spells of missing my friends and family. This group seems to be a home base for me. Sort of my friends and family😊while I go through this process. Hopefully we could be the same for you.
    @fatteacher I haven’t had a chance to read all the posts in reply to; how to handle lunch at school with your students and other teachers. But I wanted to say How much I respect you being a teacher. A great profession! I know how much great patience and capabilities it requires to be an educator like yourself.✨ For the lunch time. Works for me, in similar but not exact situations, could possibly work for you. I basically just say, “I’m not hungry right now.” Or I’m planning to eat later. If they have a nice fresh salad, with only veggies, with oil and dressing that would be ok, even on a FD✨✨We are with you! During that lunch time. Because we each have or are running into situations like that regularly. ✨👍Together We Are Stronger✨✨ Don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t work out. But I Believe in you!

    ✨✨Together we are Stronger✨✨

    I’m also doing a FD tomorrow, anyone else who wants to join us?

    @micheleas
    @snowflake56

    Yes – this is my second week for this. So today is my fast day.
    I officially weigh in on Thursdays at Tops & last week was down
    3 lbs after my first week on 5:2 – so was very happy with that.

    Thank-you for asking ✨I’d like to do a FD on the 21st
    Any body want to Join in?✨

    @micheleas
    @snowflake56
    @okeydokey

    ✨🌈Together We are Stronger✨😊

    3rd Post – Day 20 – USA – FD

    I make sure I take a really good multi vitamin, amino acids, proteins for body, brain, emotional well being. Omega 3 oils ( they work better for me.) Probiotics. I drink a vegetable smoothly, no carbs, with plenty of vitamins and minerals. On (Kefir into my 4th FD)all my FD’s to help with good health. ✨

    @yorkmom Congratulations🎉 3lbs. Loss after 1st week. Looks like you’ve found your groove 😊
    @onahealthyhigh Thank-you ✨for all the helpful information!😊

    I will be on FD tomorrow as well

    @micheleas
    @snowflake56
    @okeydokey
    @fayefaye

    best wishes all!

    Day 21 – NZ – NFD

    Day 20 FD St Louis USA
    I made bone broth for the first time last night and strained out the veggies this morning. The recipe said to throw them away and that was really difficult for me to do. They were so lovely.!

    Good luck to all of us fasters today and others who are maintaining. I am still not always able to do the cut and paste correctly. 🙁

    Day 20 – SW WA USA – FD (1st of B2B)

    Yay! The day has started out with sun at least. Happy 1st day of spring!

    priya121 – with the weight numbers you posted, are you posting in stones? Welcome to this wonderfully supportive forum.

    LindaSue – I’m curious. It seems you’re on maintenance yet you’re doing 3 FDs this week? I thought that on maintenance less FDs were the norm? I’m far from maintenance yet, but just wondering what to expect down the line.

    Fasting pocketeers – stay strong! NFDers have a strong day also!

    Hi all UK day 20 FD

    So far so good

    @Strawberriesandcream – I am toying with the idea of doing likewise 5 days 800 cals each day but relucant to put it into writing until I saw your post. Will we try this experiment together? I see @redrockgirl302 had the same thought.

    I have put on (according to scales) 7lbs since my new low and I want to get back down there and to begin to make more progress. It’s my OH’s birthday this weekend and Mothers day on Sunday so 5 days seem doable. The weekend should not be toooo bad as I am in charge of food and I have warned the boys NO CHOCOLATE!

    @priya121 and @yorkmom Welcome – never too late to join us but if you could start your post with the day of the month which is the same as the day of the challenge – that way we are all on the same page no matter where in the world we are. If it is a fast day (FD) or non fast day (NFD) and your location – in whatever order you wish. The rest is up to you – tell us a bit about yourself or not its up to you.

    @gopackgo – there are people on this forum who for one reason or another can’t exercise and have still dropped an amazing amount of weight. Get the diet right first and then exercise.

    @fatrabbit – feeling extremely fortunate after reading your post – I knew a girl who was extremely overweight which caused terrible back pain, when she opened up I knew why she burdened herself with weight, she always came second best to her brother who could do no wrong, sadly he was killed and her parents if they didn’t say it outright she certainly felt they did, that it would have been better she had died than him as he was so much better than she. I don’t think she ever got the help I think she deserved and her health declined even further. I have lost touch but I always wonder and think it a pity she didn’t feel she deserved a better chance. Not that other aspects of her life were not happy, she did marry and she loved her horses but she never truly believed in herself enough to get help.
    You must have a very forgiving nature. Your Mum does not realise how lucky she actually is. Hugs x

    Still Day 20 –

    Adding to the 21st FD:

    @micheleas
    @snowflake56
    @okeydokey
    @fayefaye
    @annemarilyn

    OneHealthyHigh – I can’t yet imagine “can’t afford to lose more weight” as you stated. I do wish you well in your continued journey.

    Fatrabbit – it’s pretty amazing how you care for your mother even with her history. How sad for her not to now even be able to learn to appreciate you. Kudos to you for taking care of yourself no matter what.

    Day 20: Gloucestershire, UK: NFD/CD
    Another day where I have just breakfast at about 6am before work, then another meal at about 2.30pm when I return. LEAVING IT AT THAT!!! Means a fasting window of about 15 hours every day.

    Hi AnneMarilyn,

    I am rather new to the whole maintenance thing, just the last couple of months. I work M, Tu, Wed so it works best for me to fast during those days (less than 500 total calories for the day) and then use the other four days for eating out with friends, date night (or day) with hubby, family events, etc. It has surprised me that my weight has stayed within such a small range of numbers. I really thought it would bounce more from 143 to 147 but seems to be staying within the 141 – 144 or so range.

    Not that there is a whole lot of difference but we all know the last few pounds are the ones that want to hang around the party the longest. haha… I do understand that our bodies can fluctuate four or five pounds in a given day so I am watching the longer range figures (I am keeping track for now but won’t need to forever, I hope).

    Day 20–MA, USA–FD
    Day 19 –NFD
    Day 18 — NFD

    Day 20 – Cumbria UK – NFD/CD

    Funny old day weather wise here today – rain – blue skies and sunshine – overcast and more rain then hail and now some evening sun……..

    Managed to be controlled so far today – small brunch this morning, plenty of water/tea to drink but I’m out with a girlfriend for a meal and drinks tonight – will try to be mindful……

    @dykask – as they say that weight is in transit……..
    @jojo58 – another curry fiend……my OH and I are very partial to all sorts of curry too – I do like mine a bit spicy!
    @arvandee – nice to hear from you and good news re your back – sounds like your bike ride as good quality time with your OH as well as getting in some exercise and fresh air 😍
    @fatteacher – good luck with your mindful eating once back at work – remember that you are doing this WOL for you!
    @bert1802 – that’s what we are here for – talking about our fears amongst people who understand and have been there too. Pull up your (not literally!!) “big girl’s pants” when you get home and weigh yourself – it does not matter what it says and then you can focus and start this WOL again – you know it worked in the past and it will again – we are all here to pull you along and give you hugs as needed.
    @monkeydo – YOU OK?
    @missymay – WOW – well done you on your 1/2 marathon – that is a such a great achievement – hope you are not too sore to do a happy dance 💃
    @lany36 – 👍 for picking yourself up and moving on
    @luna09 – nice to hear from you and doing so well – you know you can do it for March! stay focused and positive
    @Strawberriesandcream – it will be interesting to hear how you get on doing 5 x 800cal FDs in a row – both from the results and whether it is easy to stick to – keep us posted and positive vibes coming your way x
    @lynzm – you have got this – holding on to your firmly until your B2B2B is done
    @saffy420 – you are not the only one who struggled this past weekend – today is another day so see how you get on – let me know if it turns into a FD – good luck
    @pashaw – don’t lose heart – refocus and do the basic 5:2 mindfully until the end of March and you might surprise yourself with the result..
    @priya121 – Welcome to the 31 Day March 2017 Challenge – we are a big and friendly group with everyone at different stages of their 5:2 WOL and some on maintenance as well. Share as much or as little as you feel like but you will have great support here. It would be helpful for me if you could start your daily post with the day of the month, where you are, and if you are doing a FD (Fast day) or a NFD (Non Fast Day). Example today for me would be Day 20 – Cumbria UK – NFD. Add more to your daily post or not as you please. If you don’t sign in daily then just update at the start of your post whether each day since you last signed in was a FD or NFD – makes updating the spreadsheet a bit easier – Thanks
    There will be an April Challenge to follow so you can continue with us!

    Happy First Day of Spring for those living in the UK

    Hope all the pocketeers are keeping strong

    Day 20 Belfast FD
    DAY 21 FD
    DAY 22-27 NFDs
    Just home from a very muddy first weekend in th caravan. My fast day today is a reset of the weekend😦 Will fast B2B tomorrow because on Wednesday I’m flying to the USA for a short break with my friends. Can’t wait!!!
    @jojo I’m addicted to those little peppers. When my mum was alive, I shared her care with my sister. She always made sure there were some in the fridge for me coming, so eating them always brings back happy memories.

    So adding to the list….

    My weight is static, but there’s no point in worrying about it now. When I come home, I must knuckle down.
    Onwards and downwards!

    2nd post

    Great fast day today.

    Just a quick heads up, noticed on Groupon that zero noodles/rice and pasta are on special offer 24 packs @ £24, cheap!

    Enjoy

    Good to know I am not the only cherry pepper addict, now off to buy some gherkins.

    Day 20 – Montreal- NFD

    I’ve been offline all weekend, have to catch up with posts!.

    Day 18, NFD
    Day 19, NFD
    Day 20 16:8

    I want to try the 16:8 approach 5 days this week and see how that goes, planning my eating window from 11 am to 7 pm. Any suggestions are appreciated. Wish me luck!.

    Day 20 : Cheshire, UK : NFD

    Sorry fell off the wagon today. I’m not feeling 100% so wasn’t strong enough to do a liquid fast and I find it difficult to do a 500 cal fast after a series of NFDs.

    Sorry Pocketeers. Will take it easy until I feel better.

    Day 20 Portugal FD

    Missed checking in yesterday and I have 3 or 4 pages to catch up on. Overate yesterday again! Today I have tried to fast but ate too much dinner – I am sure I went over 500cal. Getting a tooth extracted on Wed so that will make fasting easier!

    Post 2

    Completely blew my FD, it is now a NFD. Chocolate squares, Oreo cookies, a chomp of a glazed donut. Chips. I did fast for 17 hours, I napped in the morning and then made chicken soup with Zero noodles and homemade defatted broth … And this afternoon, had a square of chocolate and it was like the dam broke.

    I’m chalking this up to just a bad day to fast, period. I should have known better. I got about 4 hours of sleep last night, I feel tired and achy, ears and throat sore, slight fever. My body wants edible comfort, lol.

    Not beating myself up. Tomorrow is a new day.

    Pocketeers make the FD count! I’m stretching out my fast a couple more hours as I haven’t eaten now for 36 hours. Right now I’m burning some fat and that is my goal to reduce my fat. Hang in there!

    Day 21 / UK / NFD

    I have now been doing 5:2 for four weeks. Very pleased with the 4.5kg that the scales insist I have lost, but even more that I am finally seeing something through and am managaging to form a habit. The FDs are on the whole surprisingly easy–today’s may have been the easiest yet, hardly any hunger and I didn’t even bother to finish my dinner, or anything else, when I realised I had put too much salt into it–so I see myself doing this a long while longer. I have been spending the last few days on this and that side of 67kg annoyingly but that’s just temporary! Finally, I am so glad that I stumbled over this forum. My posts often resemble a very public food diary and contain a lot of musings about scales, but once I had decided to start posting, I had decided to do this in earnest–THANK YOU!
