  • Day 12, USA, Missouri Ozarks, NFD

    Hello All !

Doing great, Today’s weight 141.4, under goal weight of 145.

    To your health,

    Day 12 Maine FD

Totally blew it last nite – was controlled all day, but after unpacking where we’ll be for 2 weeks & grocery shopping, I had no energy to cook. Big mistake! Walked up to one of our favorite restaurant, had a drink & proceeded to clean my plate. Came back & kept eating. I felt so horrible – couldn’t sleep all nite – berating myself for being so weak. Took about 2 hours before I could get control of my mind & talk to myself about the beauty of “reset”. Why are thoughts always so amplified in the middle of the night?

Almost didn’t weigh, but needed the accountability. Up 4 lbs – 191.4 – bummed to see the 90’s again. However, this is temporary & I will not give up or give in to old habits.

So, A FD. I know I can do better. Make it a great day everybody – I sure am going to try – off for my therapy walk & to check out changes to our vacation area.

    Day 12 – Chester UK – NFD

Yesterday was a high calorie day , mainly due to the alcohol I consumed. I was so pleased with myself as well for really eating mindfully during our meal with friends. Managed to resist the crisps and peanuts so I must be learning something from this WOL! I’m in awe of people that can fast at the weekend, too many temptations around for me. I’ve just booked a restaurant for my birthday in a couple of weeks, determined to get into something currently in the “too small – might get into it one day” wardrobe! Next FD will be Tuesday.

    2nd post
    Day 12 – USA 🇺🇸 PA – FD

Warm Fasting and Nonfasting wishes for our Group that all goes well for the rest of the day😊

Earlier I said I was looking forward to weighing later today.
Well honestly not exactly looking forward to weighing today. More hoping my 3 FD’s have made a difference🤞Although my 3rd FD won’t be over until tomorrow.

It’s noon here at PA, I wish I had some nose plugs so I wouldn’t be smelling all the delicious grilled chicken and hamburgers we’re cooking up for our 16 year old twins for the week. Honestly I think I’ll buy some so I can be prepared for next time😏😛🤣

    Just keep Fasting 👏👏👏

@at I’m glad to hear your asthma is lessening and your able to take less of the medications. I am looking forward to be able to do that also!

    Day 12 | NFD | UK

Hopefully I’ll remember to buy a newspaper this week to read Dr MM improved version of 5:2.
When I first started this WOL I was struggling to get through the FDs without a little nibble on something at lunch. But now I can do liquids during the day and a meal in the evenings as it helps me to sleep.

I love how there are so many alternate ways to suit everyone’s lifestyle.

Tomorrow is a FD day for me so all those doing the same best wishes and thinking of you on this side of the world x

nfd today went for a meal last night with friends but was good even though it was my nfd had chicken a small amount of mash and veg.i did have some wine with my friend though as i only see her about once a month nfd tomorrow and looking forward to it i think because its so easy havnt got to scour the freezer to see what to have it will be 2 weetabix with some skimmed milk an apple in the afternoon then tuna salad about 6 easy peazy.think my friend is going to start the diet as well as she has put on a bit of weight since giving up smoking.good luck to all on the fd today thinking of you all x

Day 12 NFD St Louis USA
Enjoying reading the posts but there are so many of them. Tomorrow is a fast day for me and I have to start out early again I with a doctors appointment. I’ve joined the Y but I haven’t made it to any classes yet. Did go in for my fitness assessment. Plan to take a class tomorrow evening. I’ve been trying on my workout clothes and feeling a little bit vulnerable.

Good luck today and this week everyone.

    Day 12 Oxfordshire NFD

Second post. I wanted to mention that I use a mindfulness app that is free or very cheap and it’s available for iPhone as well as android. It’s called the insight timer. It has thousands of meditations on mindful awareness, including some for walking, mindful eating, podcast etc. I like to listen in the morning before I get up to start my day and sometimes at night if I have trouble relaxing or sleeping. If you are searching for it on the App Store, it has a black background with a gold colored Tibetan bowl.

@biddiev math is not my strongest point but I believe it’s your birthday tomorrow. So CONGRATS!!! Hope you have a swell day and just for one day: forget the calories. Enjoy!

    Day 12 uk nfd

At last a dry sunny day, 2 loads of washing out and dry and a few hours pruning and clearing in the garden!! Small pleasures!!

Now looking forward to a roast and a glass of vino tinto!

    Rocy65:
Dry? Sunny? Unfortunately not here in Gloucs!! Where in the UK are you?
After gorging at both breakfast and lunch today, I feel totally bloated and indigestible. I have eaten nothing since about 2.30pm and WILL NOT!
Fast day for me tomorrow if it kills me….is there a pocket list yet anybody?

Day 12 – SW WA USA – NFD

    Doing a 16:8.

Steffieagle – Your protein waffle sounds yummy. Do you have a recipe you can share or do you buy them?

    Ciren2 – I haven’t seen a pocket list for tomorrow but I’ll start it.

    Day 12 UK NFD

A weekend dominated by our gorgeous grandsons aged 7&3 who we were looking after yesterday and overnight. We see them often but this weekend really made me remember just how difficult it is to prioritise your own eating plan when looking after small children. They are very good but all encompassing and consuming in every sense of the word. It is so easy to just go with the flow and not think enough about what you are rushing to eat. Hats off to mums with young children.

    2nd post – Day 12

Quick catch up to update the spreadsheet – @ciren2 asked if there was a pocket list for tomorrow, I see that @annemarilyn has started one, I have now added in the names of those I saw who stated that tomorrow was a FD for them

@chumi – I have taken note of your FD/NFD – just update me of any changes – enjoy your “trip” holiday or work?
@happymargo – you are a machine…..LOL – doing so well with your exercise since being given the all clear after your surgery – great job x
@scs – that’s the beauty of this WOL – one bad day is never so bad as we can press the reset button by doing a FD – hope today’s FD for you went well
@biddiev – has Dutch got it right?? If YES then a very happy birthday for tomorrow – have a fab day!

Thanks for the link to Dr Moseley’s fast day changes. Hope we’ll be able to read the 16 page lift out in Aus next week. He’s also publishing an eBook in June on gut health “The Clever-Gut-Diet.”

A public holiday here in Melbourne. Planning to spend it in my garden preparing for another hot spell beginning tomorrow. Loving the autumn heat wave. Beautiful days and cool nights. Perfect.

I’m practicing as I finally figured out how to get my cut and paste to work correctly. Looking forward to my fast day tomorrow with all of you. Making crockpot onion soup today and other preparations. I really can’t believe how helpful it is to have all this sharing and support. We can do it together.!!

    Day 12 – NFD
    Day 11 – NFD
    Day 10 – NFD
Day 9 – FD not a great one.
Stress is my excuse for making some poor choices this week. I feel bloated and uncomfortable. Back at Work tomorrow and FDs are easier to manage.

    Happy birthday @biddiev!
    Have a good evening everyone.

    Day 12 : Cheshire, UK : NFD

Day 10 FD went really well. I broke my fast with low carb dinner at 7pm but I felt I could have carried on with the liquid fast through to the next day.

@biddiev – Wishing you a Happy Birthday filled with wonderful surprises! xo

@dutch – well done for remembering BiddieV’s birthday. I agree with your calculations 🙂

@missj2002 – thank you for the link. Very interesting, although I’m happy to stay with liquid fasts or eat as little as possible on fast days, but I can see how it can help those starting out or whom find it difficult to completely fast.

@Strawberriesandcream – I don’t understand your post on Day 9 re. b2b fasts. I understand starting after dinner Sunday night and breaking with breakfast on Wednesday morning amounting to approx. 60 hours. I don’t understand the 2 single days amounting to 72 hours if you start after dinner one evening and extending to breakfast on the following day. Could you give me examples of times and days please as I’m really interested in that option.

@blueninjamum – thank you for the salad dressing recipe.

@fatrabbit – thank you for the sprout curry. Gosh, that amount would last me several weeks. I will definitely try but with reduced amounts.

@dykask – thank you for the support on my fast day. I usually find the first day of the b2b fast difficult and the second day less so. This time I found the second day really easy and could have continued without breaking the fast through to a third day but I had made plans for dinner. I also just want to say how much I enjoy reading your posts. I never thought about visiting Japan before but now I’m curious. I love your structure and approach to this way of eating. I find your experiences and research so interesting and fascinating. Thank you!

@steffieagle – thank you for the details of your “Dinner Salad”.

@notmyrealname – I will try konjac rice or noodles. Thank you.

@johnnyr – thank you for sharing. By seeing and acknowledging a possible reason for the self-protection through excess weight is powerful and hopefully you can let go in more ways than one. I love your wit/humour btw but don’t feel you have to be humorous. Hugs my virtual friend 🙂

@at – the spreadsheet is wonderful. Thank you for taking care of us. Hugs 🙂

Day 12, Sunday again — Colorado, USA– NFD…turned into a surprise FD! 😀

Several posters have asked about Bone Broth:

    — Here’s a link outlining all the amazing benefits … keep reading/ scrolling, at the very bottom of the article is a recipe to try out.

    https://intensivedietarymanagement.com/bone-broth-broth-can-cure-cold-idm-6-2/

There are many different methods of making broth (mine never gets as thick as the picture in this article, I prefer it thin & runny, so I can drink or spoon it like a bouillon from a big mug.)

I toss the bones, onion, carrots, celery, herbs, spices etc into my Instant Pot crock pot. Let it boil for 24 hours to really extract all the goodness from the bone marrow.

My doggy loves the meat & carrots that are left once I strain my broth off. I make huge batches so there’s always mason jars of this healthy stuff in my freezer ready for a FD pick-me-up!
    Enjoy!!

    Day 13 FD Sydney
I indulged yesterday food-wise ice-cream, cheese and chocolate – and I like to let myself do that periodically on the weekends as it stops me from getting into a bingey reactionary state about food. However, maybe I’m doing it a little too much as I’m still hovering between 80 and 80.5kg. My first plateau. Have a bit of a headache – maybe the food? Amazing how much more I notice the effects of food on my body. Knuckling down today and back on the weekday focused food. I’ll get there.

Tossed a huge pile of clothes out that are too big for me – Only a handful of items in my wardrobe are too small now – 2 gorgeous dresses I’m determined to fit back into. I’ve gone down a size. Now for one more size and a whole lot of HIT fastexercise and I’ll be set.

Day 12 : Cheshire, UK : NFD (btw my first post went missing….really don’t understand how)

Hi all uk day 12 nfd

Lovely sunny spring day in County Down. Got washing out on the line to dry and spent a couple of hours in garden. Sorry Ciren your weather was not as nice.

@goldensun I can’t see 2 posts from you either – how strange but I also know there was a post from @biddiev that I can’t find either. I looked back to see how it was worked out it was a birthday but it says last post was day 10. I don’t think that correct.

Day 12 Chicago, IL USA – NFD

@happymargo thank you for the bone broth recipe. I will try it.

    Hi @annemarilyn

My protein waffle is based on the Oatmeal Pancake in the Southbeach Diet book. I have been enjoying it for about 10 years. Keeps me satisfied for 5-6 hours. Eat it everyday FD and NFD. I estimate it is about 380 calories.

    Protein Waffle 2 Portions
2 Jumbo or Extra Large Eggs
1/3 cup (generous) low fat cottage cheese
    1 TBSP olive oil
    Generous Sprinkling cinnamon
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 splenda or trulia packet
1/2 cup rolled oats (generous pour)

Use stick blender to mix all ingredients. Makes 2 single serve waffles.

I top with a small coating of real butter.

I top with fruit: raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, 1/2 banana, 1/2 kiwi. Lots of color and fiber. Drizzle 1 TBSP real maple syrup.

Delicious and filling. I wish I could post a photo.

    Day 11, NZ NFD
    Day 12, NZ NFD
Day 13, NZ FD – much needed, lost the plot over the weekend. Weather atrocious over weekend so didn’t get my usual exercise. Not looking forward to the up coming winter, I know its much harder to motivate myself when it is cold and dark outside

Day 13 Melbourne NFD (Day 12 NFD)Sorry @at have been very sporadic due to work and thanks for your kind thoughts x

Thanks @dutch and yes – an impressive Memory! big six-oh today 🙂

Thanks also to @goldensun, @debster251 and @at for your good wishes (hope I caught everyone!)

Must say that when a politician sends a card wishing you a happy 50th or 60th I can’t see how they can think it is a vote-getter…seriously? Reminding someone that they are now officially old… 🙂 ??

@lilymartin, Yayy You! back on that fabulous wagon that @coda made ‘concrete’. I’m kindof running madly a step behind it, atm, and will jump back into those outstretched arms any sec!

@steffieagle — PROTEIN WAFFLES: I forgot about that waffle recipe from South Beach. I used to put the oatmeal in the blender first and whirr it into flour before adding the other ingredients. The way you have it would be easier if it does the trick. Also makes great pancakes if no waffle iron. Seems like it makes 4-6 pancakes.

Thanks steffieagle, for the recipe. It sounds yummy. I don’t know if I tried it when I was doing the South Beach. I believe I still have the book.

    Day 12 | Toronto| CD
Not a great day for me today. I saw a reference to “improved version of 5:2” being announced in the UK;if anyone sees a link online please post here for us to read.

    Post 1 Wisconsin, USA

Hi everyone! Just spent a good hour or so reading through these posts – so cool to have a community of supporters from around the world.

Tomorrow will be my Day 1 post and a FD. I’ve looked into this lifestyle previously and just got the book on Saturday. I’m ready!

I will weigh and measure in the morning, but I have a good 40 pounds (18 kg / 2.8 stone) to lose. I never had an issue with my weight until after my twins were born, and my other son …. ever since, the past 10 years, the weight has gone up and down and increasingly up. I’m not happy with my health and appearance right now, and this really seems like something that I can actually stick with and see long-term results.

I look forward to starting and continuing this journey with you all!

    Day 13 – Perth AUS – FD

Super hungry today – I think it’s these tablets… not to mention they have to taken with a full meal…. sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiightly tricky given I was doing a 23/1 fast day before.

@sirisan – I love insight timer! I just use the free version and it’s great. I have a few faves (guided and just sound) and try out new guided meditations every so often. There’s an android version for those not on iDevices 🙂

Hi AT i want to join March challenge. Hope its not too late to join and be inspired 😊💪

    Day 13 UK FD

Fasting today. Liquid only, though I am not sure results are any better really than having 500 cals but I am at least used to it so it is my default. Sorry I can’t copy and paste from ipad but thinking of the pocketeers.

    Day 13 NFD Oman
Good FD yesterday. Going to gym this morning on empty tummy…just had water and coffee. It should be good…hopefully it’ll get me over my plateau..

    Day 12, Oceanside CA, NFD
    Day 13, Oceanside CA, FD

Easing into the week, only one more until spring! Nice easy weekend with lots of walking, delicious heart healthy meals and onto the first FD of the week.

Read the new 800 calorie per day plan announced by Dr. Moseley. I have been enjoying 700-800 calories on FDs since the beginning. No water fasts or B2B FDs for me. IF is just that: Intermittent, 2 days per week. I usually finish breakfast before 10 a.m. after my morning walk and finish dinner by 7 p.m. So there is 14 hours of overnight fasting every day.

No weight loss this week. But the WOL keeps me energetic and committed.

I am in from 13/3 late but still going to join you all and see how I get on.

    DAY 13 – MUNIC, GERMANY – NFD
    🙋

    Day 13 – Tokyo, Japan – FD 180.8kg

3rd day this month I was above 180kg. Yesterday was a bit of a party day and wow, I’m feeling it today. So I’m throwing myself in with the pocket fasters!

FYI – I don’t recommend daily weight like I do unless you don’t mind being disappointed some days. Weight is really secondary for me, primary is getting rid of my fat and building some strength. Tomorrow I’ll do the pushups and frankly I’m nevus because at some point I’ll fail to gain in the number I can do. It always happens, I just hope it is a few more weeks down the road.
