Day 25 – Switzerland – NFD
Sorry to hear your sad news @songbirdme x
Day 25, London, UK, FD
@songbirdme, my thoughts and condolences to you and your family, I recall you mentioning your visit to see him last month, I hope you are heartened that you were able to spend that precious time with him.
Today is the 1st day of my 1st B2B this week, I’m planning a 2nd one over the weekend so my Monday weigh-in for April will be good!!!! That’s the plan at the moment, but this WOL allows for ‘the female prerogative’!!!!!
Big Push everyone!!!! We’ve got this!!!!!
Day 25, Newcastle UK, FD
Sorry to hear of your loss @songbirdme – sending love and hugs to help you through the difficult days ahead.
Yesterday’s fast was good – really enjoyed resetting the button after my far from controlled weekend. It’s absolutely freezing here – we’ve been plummeted back into winter but I really need to work this week to ensure my little old ladies’ gardens are all shipshape before I board our ship and sail off into the sunshine – for which I hope and pray!.
@and… exhale – so pleased you enjoyed your holiday – before winter returned with a vengeance!
Wow @fatrabbit – your progress is impressive. You well and truly left that plateau behind.
@johnnyr – good to hear you’re still with us – have missed your banter.
@jennferb – whilst I agree with others that your glass of wine on NFDs does not sound like a problem (unlike my old bottle a day habit) if you like gin and tonic then I have found a long glass of slimline tonic with four icecubes and a really good squeeze of fresh lime just hits the spot. I can’t tell there’s no gin in it.
Have a good day all – wrap up if you need to.
DAY 25 – UK – FD
After all the support from you all I managed a really good fast day yesterday.
On the strength of that am trying a b2b..if I succeed will feel I am well an truly on track again.
Debster251 and @coda….we are renting a “cottage” – daughter booked it, more like a mansion to me…near a little village Armoy – 20mins drive from Devils Causeway….we hope to do a lot of sightseeing and coastal walks…and are taking wet weather gear so will be well prepared for rain.
Thanks for your encouragement yesterday, I think I was at a real low, but the cloud has passed, and am full of optimism again to-day. xx
Day 25 in Newcastle
The weather is very sunny but very cold & windy.
NFD
Not long back from a run/walk with dogs. Approx 2 miles running with 1 mile walking.
FD now 2B2B on Wed & Thurs due to me going out to see Women in Black with a friend & having tea out todya & then we are out with friends we have not seen in a few weeks on Friday so as we dont want to fast over w/e, not much choice.
Food this time will be better planned & hopefully we wont be so hungry – fish one night, chicken the next.
Still not got round to measuring, will do this pm before going out.
However, I do feel trimmer with a couple of outfits feeling not so tight so maybe the wgt is not happening but the inches are.
Fingers crossed. Good luck todays pocketeers. Will join you all on Wednesday.
Day 25 UK FD
Day 2 of 48 hr fast. 38 hours on liquids; so far so good…
Happy fasting fasters.
Make it a great one if you can, but don’t be hard on yourself if you slip. It’s your long-term stats that count. And a bit off your waist, hips, etc. is more important and impressive than many of us give it credit!
Take care out there, it’s a sugary, salty processed world 🙂
Day 25, Belfast, NFD
My FD went really well yesterday. A lovely (quite strenuous) yoga class helped to stretch (literally!) out my evening. This was my first time at yoga whilst fasting and it felt great. My sleep was a bit disturbed though, had dreams our food was being nicked lol.
I’ll do another FD tomorrow and defo sign up for May’s challenge. At least there are no major holidays! I hope to be better behaved. Good luck everyone today.
Day 25 US FD
Day 24 NFD
Day 23 NFD
Day 22 NFD
Day 21 NFD
Day 20 NFD
First of all, I add my condolences to @songbirdme. So sorry for your loss.
My last three attempts at FDs have been miserable failures. I couldn’t manage my hunger. I gave in and ate a meal at noontime. The hunger is really distracting and makes it difficult to concentrate on work. You’d think it would be the other way around, and if I was focused on work I would not notice my hunger as much!!! But I am giving it another go today, and if I start to lose my will, I will come to this board and read your posts for inspiration.
Day 25…….Florida…..NFD
Songbird…… my prayers to you and your family during your time of need. It always difficult to say goodbye to those we love when they are called home to serve for the greater good, but please take comfort in knowing you have gain another angel to watch over you and protect you!
Fuvvie…… Hello! My friend!
I put in a solid FD yesterday, I hope I’ve concurred the dragon and can see some improvement in my end of the month stats. It truly amazes me how April came and went in a blink of an eye.
Today is a NFD but I’m going for a very controlled day and stay below my TDEE. I surely hope, Imnot becoming a dreamer.
Well, I’m off….. I need to take the last few minutes of my morning and find a new ending for the May challenge.
B classy, sassy and a bit bad assy!
@songbirdme my sincere condolences for your loss
Day 25 – UAE – NFD
Just check in…
@songbirdme So so sorry for your loss, words seem so inadequate so sending a hug

Day 25, Germany, FD
@songbirdme my sincere condolences for your loss
@jarbia lol do you mean Giants Causeway? Yes wet weather gear is always recommended for here – we are not called the Emerald Isle for nothing. I hope the sun shines however as it always showcases a place better. Thought if you may be nearer to Belfast we could have arranged to meet up – that certainly would have spurred me to keep to plan ha ha! Hope you have a wonderful time. If you are a Game of Thrones follower check out the dark hedges – though last bank holiday they were jam packed. The Carrick a Rede Rope bridge is also something to tick off but again can be busy and a visit to Dunluce Castle – how long did you say you were coming for ha ha!
@fuvvie – hello – how are you? I sent an email to you a while ago but not sure if you got it. Nice to see you are still about x
Day 25 Melbourne FD
@songbirdme, Gwynne, sending you a hug across the globe.
Coda – yes of course I mean Giant’s Causeway….getting my Causeways mixed up!
We are hoping to do the Rope Bridge etc . etc. …. but one never does all the things one plans, but I hope to do/see lots. Having a 6 and 4 yr old to semi-look after and consider no doubt we’ll do less than we intend….but there is always next year! xx
Day 24, Mountaintop PA, FD
Day 25, Mountaintop PA, NFD Weight 150.0! Whoo Hoo!
I got to my goal weight this morning of 150.0, a total of 8.4 pounds lost since starting Fast 5:2 five months ago in November 2016. Was fairly hungry the past two days, so that last “pesky pound” was struggling to stay. I am steering the course and working on an additional 3lbs as a hedge for ups and downs.
My clothes continue to loosen. Size 10s in skirts and pants are on the horizon. As I am dedicated to walking with my Fitbit for nearly 3 years the combination of IF and exercise is a winner for me.
DH stuck at 218lbs and looking for another 10 pounds after his 22 pound loss since November. Keeping the WOL together is positive for both of us.
Thank you @okeydokey for your awesome hosting in April and for adding me to the pocketeers list yesterday. Nearly half of the forum members were on it. There is strength in numbers for sure. Your spreadsheet is easy to read and always up to date.
Only five more days and we are on to May with each day warming with spring.
Day 25 NFD
@songbirdme I add my thoughts and compassion for this time of grieving. I lost one of my sisters 10 years ago (she was only 53) and I still miss her. Healing prayers being sent your way.
I see several are ending April with some ADF days. I have been doing this and I really like it. I feel somewhat settled into it, and, for me, it somehow makes the whole process a bit easier. I just don’t think about food as much, and I don’t have “blow outs” on either the FD or the NFD as readily. I’ll be interested to see what others trying this out think!
We are getting close to the end of April … best wishes to everyone for a mindful day!
London | Day 25 | FD
By the way @okeydokey don’t worry about adding me to your April spreadsheet. I’m only tagging on for this last few days of April to keep my self accountable this week.
FD today – after quite a few weeks! I’ve had a black coffee in the morning, followed by water and then a beef billion at lunch time. My stomach has been rumbling, but determined to get through the FD. I know I’ll get used to hunger pangs soon.
Yesterday’s NFD was relatively healthy – I skipped breakfast. Lunch was a grilled haloumi salad and a pack of veggie crisps.
Dinner was a small pack of cashews, houmous with carrot sticks and a small pack of pomegranate seeds.
Did a hot yoga session after work – it was tough (after weeks of no real exercise!) but felt good afterwards.
@mogaman @jennferb @debster251 – I’ve added you guys to the May spreadsheet.
Just to remind anyone interested – the May Challenge forum link is

All the best everyone x
Day 25 – Cumbria UK – NFD
Very cold, windy but sunny day – 5 mile/8km walk this morning with 3 friends and we had some hail as well – looked like a light dusting of snow on some of the higher fells from last night! Very invigorating!
Good FD yesterday – broke my fast at lunchtime today with a glass of my homemade Kefir (2nd fermentation with raspberries – very yummy!) Will probably not eat until my evening meal tonight.
I’m weighing myself daily this week to see how much my weight varies by over the week -not done this before but in view of the variations others have reported on this forum I thought this would be a good little experiment…….might report back at the end of the week!

Day 25 Maine NFD, but very CD!
Good morning all! My 2 days off & once again, rainy…ugh! There sure better be May flowers after all these April showers!
Thanks for adding me to the pocket yesterday – just the support I needed! Happy to reports cruella showed a nice loss & new numbers! 179.4….just .4 away from April goal – so I sure don’t want to blow it now!! Bundling up in my rain gear & heading out for a much needed therapy walk! Have to admit haven ‘t conquered the male push up yet – did manage a couple of planks – but fell flat on my face when attempting the up/down….not a pretty sight!!
Make it a super day everybody ( not super-sized!)!
Day 25, USA, Missouri Ozark, FD
Hello all, beautiful sunny day here. I think I will walk to the local plant center/greenhouse and study some plant choices at my leisure. I have some geranium baskets that would look nice with the additional of some trailing plants in white or blue or lavender or something…
Doing great, morning weight is staying around 143, evening weight around 147. Not too much variation which is great – I always thought it would be wonderful to just get to the weight that a person wanted and stay there – while just living their live eating sanely, exercising a bit, drinking lots of liquids, trying to get enough sleep, etc. Just normal stuff – nothing crazy. Hopefully I am on the right pattern to achieve that maintenance goal for longterm.
Wishing all my fellow posters a wonderful day.
Day 15: Gloucestershire, UK: Sorry, but yet ANOTHER NFD….when will they end???
@songbirdme: I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your older brother. What can I say? Except to send you a BIG hug and my love. Stay strong. xx
@pissupoosa: I’m very unsure about signing up for May…I feel such a total failure right now. NO successful fast days since early March.(Big sigh). Weight 10 pounds up. Story of my life.
Day 25, Germany, NFD
Hi everybody there 🙂
I had problem keep under my TDEE on nonfasting days. So I started 16:8 as regular daily plan besides 5.2 or 4:3. It’s my second day of 16:8 and I feel much better and under control. I guess I keep changing my methods of fasting until I find my type.
@lindasue I like ur definition of a normal life and I like to be there too.
@steffieagle Congrats for reducing your size.
@flourbaby good luck with ur B2Bs. Surely you’ll see some weight reduction 🙂
Day 25 NFD country West Australia
@songbirdme – adding my condolences thoughts and prayers to you and your family on the loss of your brother.
Day 25 – SW WA USA – FD
Yes, fellow fasters, we can do this!
Fatrabbit – wow! you’re doing great! Are you counting calories or estimating? I was tracking calories when I started but haven’t recently. I’m wondering if I need to be more precise.
Fuvvie – good to see a post from you. Hope you’re doing well.
@ciren2 – I know how hard it is to keep going when it is just so dammed difficult. Swimming against that tide is so tiring. If you wish to take a break that is of course up to you but look at the positives, at least you have been at goal – I and others are still trying to get there. So what if you turn it around and stop thinking you have failed (tut tut that word is banned remember as no one fails if they keep trying). You just need to put yourself back into thinking ok 10lbs to get to goal and use that as your challenge not I’ve been at goal and I have failed – no one said maintaining was easy btw. You have been doing quite well in fasting 20 + hours some days yet you still seem think of those days as ‘failures’ and have to try again the next – why? Because you aren’t doing the 36 hours fasts like you did previously? Did you start off with 36 hr fasts at the very beginning? Take it in baby steps. Fd of 24 hours and don’t forget you can have 500 cals to see you through, then a NFD and eat healthily, next try another 24hr fast day and build up. You seem so ready to knock yourself down. Remember better – not perfect! Look at me – yes the graph is in a negative slant but there are lots of ups, downs, ups, ups, and downs. Worse than the hind leg of a donkey. I am struggling some days – like today – meant to a be fast day was determined to be so good til the end of the month but I just knew that bloody dragon had broken free again. So in your eyes I failed? Right? Is that what you would tell me? I don’t think you would so why are you so hard on yourself? Better not perfect!
It is what it is and in my eyes I haven’t failed because I will try again and keep on keeping on and strive to be better – not perfect. I would be sorry if you dropped out and I know others in these challenges would be very sorry to see you go. After all you did start the habit of putting people in your pocket – something that has helped numerous people all round the world. But maybe if you really feel you need a break then that is what you should do – only you know what is best – if you do opt out of the next challenge please pop in every now and then and maybe join us all again in a month or two when the time feels right. Hugs x

@annemarilyn I only estimate. I certainly can’t be bothered to weigh anything and unless there is a packet to read I would never bother looking it up. I sometimes wonder if I am way off but it is working so I don’t worry too much. I think as most of what I eat is vegetables I can’t go too far wrong. I ate two quite big meals today but I was still probably well under my TDEE which is 2150. I doubt they came to more than 1400. Lunch was mashed kidney beans with chili, broad beans, cheese and yogurt and dinner was asparagus, broccoli, green beans, peppers, chili, ginger and a little brown rice topped off with yogurt. That was my first NFD for ages and it was wonderful, although I ended up having my dinner really late and cold because it was tipping it down when I finished cooking and I didn’t want the rabbits to get soaked as the temperature is going to be near freezing tonight so I put them away early. And then of course the sun came out just as I finished:~ Typical! I was soaked, my food was cold, but at least I didn’t have to go out to do it later and could relax and eat slowly.
My son actually got up at a good time this morning so I got him to weigh himself, and I measured him. He has lost 5 inches on his waist and 4lbs :)) He is still eating more carbs than I would like but it is going in the right direction. I am so pleased for him:)) He is sticking to ADF really well. I need to work on the exercise thing next but he has exams in May so I can’t put more pressure on him right now.
Day 26/FD/Melbourne Australia
Ugh! Confession time. Broke my resolution to not drink wine at home unless we have guests. I’ve been so good throughout March and April. Just one glass, lead to half a bottle and a completely unleashed pig out on cheese! Estimating I exceeded TDEE by 530 calories (adjusted for exercise!). If I wasn’t doing 16:8 the damage would have been much worse. Feeling heavy and groggy this morning.
Nothing wrong with allowing yourself a glass of wine on NFDs (sorry I can’t remember who asked) as long as you can stop at one. In the early days I enjoyed a glass of wine on NFDs and reached goal. Lately I haven’t been able to stop at one and it always releases the pig out genie! Limiting wine consumption is a very important part of my maintenance plan.
The bottle is firmly corked for the rest of April. Back on the wagon today.
@steffieagle congratulations
My little unmannered visitors may have packed their bags and gone on holiday before me. If they would have restricted their toilet habits to outside and controlled their eating habits they would have been welcome. Yes @songbirdme I’ll miss their cheekiness but I’m glad they’re gone. I’m off to clean out the heating ducts and the last of the funky smell?
Have a great day everyone.

Thank you @onahealthyhigh she is much better. Had another go at her chew stick mid afternoon and managed to finish it off and keep it down. Drinking plenty of water and a couple of hours ago had a small meal and really perked up. Phew can’t cope when she is not well. She looks as though she has been on a 3 day fast but she will make up the weight now.
