Day 13 – SW WA USA – FD
It’s a bit of a difficult day for a FD but still going for it..
Chumi – what is DL – dead line? Hope you get done what needed plus some sleep.
Someone gave suggestions for youtube videos for LHCF info. Thank you. I’ve watched some ButterBob but some of the others were new to me.
Thank you Okeydokey for all your work this month. I’m glad you’re healilng enough to start a little walking. I’m impressed that your kiddos are stepping up for household tasks. I’ve been healing from an injury during a fundraiser 2 mile walk at the beginning of last June. I didn’t get it tended to in a timely fashion. It’s amazing how long healing can take. I can appreciate the process. I’m just beginning to walk at a normal pace & gait for short distances. Every pound lost, the body says thank you!
Day 14-16 / UK (London, baby!) / NFDs
So, ‘fessing up: I had two doughnuts this morning and some snacking on little dark chocolate petals during the Easter hunt when it got quieter and there was nothing else to do. Probably not the most fasty of fasting days in the end, but the Easter eggs will be tucked away next week and I can work on getting the consumption of doughnuts down even further. I’d rather bend the rules a little than deprive myself. It’s all about sustainability and not getting (too) fed up with this WOL.
Looking back on those four days, what strikes me most is that I have managed to go without my beloved porridge. I’ll have it tomorrow to set me up for the journey, but I’ll seriously consider if I really still need it. I’ll be back in the forum on Monday, most likely a NFD as well, then B4B (Thurs as CD I guess) for the rest of the working week. That’s the plan! We’ll see if the weightloss still likes that or if it’s AFD the week after again.
@goldensun Ah, I had been meaning to pick up on this. I feel very similar. I am aware that lots of members of this fabulous group watch out for each other and what is going on in the wider world. Finding myself in a very inward-looking phase at the moment, I realise that I too am receiving more than I give. Still, this forum with all the individual lives it gathers is invaluable to me. Thank you.
@Strawberriesandcream, I appreciate your words. It is now indeed up to time to do its thing. I agree, I have immediately taken up counselling again—however sporadically (funds are tight). Even a session here and there is proving insightful and keeping me focused. The job coaching feels a little bit like counselling as well, just facilitated by someone who also knows how to write a professional LinkedIn summary 😉
@at, who guided us so fabulously through March and who is going through a hard time herself at the moment, your words on new beginnings are timely and I am finding solace in them. I wish you strength!
@flourbaby Thank you for the push, I didn’t quite get there today, but have B4B clearly in my sights. THIS CAN BE DONE!
@and… exhale, bless you! Always there with kind words and encouragement!
Have a fabulous Easter, everyone, and I’ll see you all on Monday!
Hi all day 13 UK co down nfd
Alas was to be another fast day but didn’t quite make it – totally tempted by some lindt chocolate and then……. Since trying the BSD and allowing 800 cals per day. I find it easier (says she who didnt complete todays) I find some days are lower than 500, some days are maybe 600 and other days are up to 800 but it seems to ease the pressure knowing if i want i can have a little extra if required and it all counts. Off on a day trip tomorrow to Portrush and a nice meal out with OH so a nfd.
@goldensun hugs x i really feel for you. When my son and girlfriend had that bad patch it was very tough. When you are faced once again with a crisis maybe its time to decide what you really want. Is this a chance to move on? If you can love perhaps the wrong person that much imagine how much you can love the right person? but only you can decide and it’s not easy. Yet sometimes being strong and moving on is the only choice you have or maybe you will decide you have to be strong for both cus what you have is worth saving but i hope whatever decision you make it works out for the best. Like most things you need to experience the rough times to appreciate the good.
With regards to reading all the posts I too for the first time in 11 months haven’t read every single post and at the beginning felt really bad but I have given myself a break and you know what – it’s ok. I still say I’ll do it but it will take hours and it moves at such a fast pace I’m not sure if I can lol. Read what you can but post daily x
@bert1802. Hope you enjoy the book it’s one of the funniest I’ve ever read.
Day 14 FD Country West Australia
Just joking !!!! It’s a NFD.
Well, I already have the first of many hot cross buns heating in the oven and the aroma is delicious and I plan to have it with lashings of butter which will make my arteries quake at the thought of the cholesterol BUT it is Good Friday only once a year and I only have hot crossies at this time so am looking forward to it immensely and without the slightest vestige of guilt or anything else.
Bring on the Easter chocolate on Sunday !!!!!!!
To those for whom Good Friday is significant, including myself, may it be a day of reflection. To others for whom it is a time for family and friends may it be a time of rest and peace.
For those who find times like Christmas and Easter painful due to family, health or other reasons, my thoughts are with you all.
Go well.
Day 14 – UAE – NFD after 4 days of b2b fasting,
I was very pleased today to see the weight lost 2.2kg :-), thank you all for the inspiration, especially this week B4B Pocketeers.
@okeydokey glad to see that you are recovery well, keep it up and soon we hopefully hear that you are not only walking with a breathe, but running
please update my details on the spreadsheet,
Target weight at the end of April:
Starting weight 86.7 kg
Current weight 84.5 kg…
Target weight end of April 82 kg
Keep the fasting up and the weight down to a healthy level…
Day 14 Newcastle UK FD.
Third fast day this week.
Have a great Easter everyone still two days of work for me.
Hope to spend some time up the Allotment garden on Sunday @okeydokey no cucumbers up there yet but when they do arrive due to the cooler climate they have to be handled sensitively and with the utmost care if they are to develop properly.
I’ve been reading about these low carb diets and fitting this in with the 5/2. At the moment I’m more or less doing the 8/16 with the 5/2 on all days I don’t eat till noon. On my NFD I feel I’m searching for sugary carbs, in a lot of post there’s quite a few who seem to be hooked on then like me. Good luck tomorrow everyone. Stay focused lots of temptation coming our way.

Day 14 FD Portugal
Day 13 NFD
Yesterday was to be a FD but we went hiking and I needed some energy! It was a beautiful hike. Unfortunately ate too much yesterday along with a few Easter chocolate treats.
Today I am treating as a FD – no food until main meal although I do have to eat that meal out tonight. Will try to keep calories as low as possible. Will try for fish and vegetables. Tomorrow will be FD as well. Anyone else fasting today and tomorrow? Missed posting yesterday and also missed 2-3 pages of posts.
Day 14 – Staffordshire UK – NFD
Days 9,10,11,12 & 13 have all been NFD. It was my 40th birthday yesterday and my celebrations started last Sunday and haven’t yet stopped. I am such a lucky lady to have such wonderful friends and family.
Today I weigh 151lb so on track to maintain (+0.6lb) for the month.
Day 14 – UK – NFD
Had my second FD of the week yesterday (thought I would get them done before the Easter break 😆)
Day went well and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it and then enjoyed preparing my evening meal Nd having to be more creative with some low calorie white fish and veg.
Did a sneaky weigh in peek… early days I know but was 4lbs down 😱 Definitely a motivation to keep on track over easter.
My Fitness Pal is a dream app to help with keeping my calories in check!
Hope you all have a lovely Easter, will check in again Monday 🙂
Day 14, London, UK, NFD
I hope our friends from New Zealand haven’t suffered too badly from Cyclone Cook, Good vibes heading your way!!
Completed my B2B2B yesterday – (Yippee) – and although I planned on hoovering up a couple of butter dripping hot cross buns…………….. I’m not actually hungry, I know once I start I’ll be ravenous, so I’m holding out until midday-ish to release the dragon!! It’s Good Friday, so today will be mindful in many ways, CD expected – hot cross buns and light fish dinner.
@lynzm, @skinnylove, @strawberriesandcream & @taraga, I hope you managed this mini challenge as gracefully as I did (I had a conversation last night with a packet of crisps – it ended in divorce, but he’ll be back today!!!) @skinnylove……I can’t imagine a B2B2B2B (YET) so don’t despair, 6 months ago I would have fainted thinking of doing just one FD!!!! As you said ‘It’s all about sustainability and not getting (too) fed up with this WOL’
For some it’s the final day of their B2B2B+, so I’ve still got you guys in my pocket, @bert1802, @okeydokey & @redrockgirl302 final push today!!!! You’ve got this!!
Good luck everyone & happy Easter!!
Day 13 FD Day 14 NFD NZ
I’ve had very little to contribute to the forum this week.
It’s been an intensely stressful week and culminated in resigning from my job today.
In the end I know I will be proven correct but for my own peace of mind I need to be away from those people to get some relief from the anxiety that one particular person is creating.
I feel so peaceful just from making the decision, the relief makes me certain I’ve down the right thing.
Making my way through Easter so far without overindulgence and that’s a great feeling.
I’m back in my jeans comfortably and have noticed a considerable decrease in my appetite in the last two weeks. My altered approach to NFDs is making a difference, the stress of the last week has probably contributed to the appetite decrease as well but overall I feel I’m in a good place weight loss wise.
Day 14, London UK, NFD
Day 13 FD
Day 12 NFD
Day 11 NFD
I’ve been off work all week and FDs have been more difficult, especially yesterday as I didn’t have an exercise class in the evening. I just kept thinking about food and clock watching. But I managed to keep the calorie count to about 600 by eating lots of raspberries. In some ways my eating has improved – I now like salads! But I still go a bit mad on shopping days, trying to get in as many treats as possible on NFD days. But overall the weight seems to be coming off.
Day 14 – Belfast NFD
Yesterday’s FD went ok…I kept busy at work and got through the day without much bother. Although heading to bed I was, like, “my tummmmmmyyy is soooo emptyyyy!!”. That is when, before, I would have had a big slice of buttered toast and ruined the whole days work. Not this time…a glass of water and a hot water bottle (it’s April…and it’s N. Ireland lol).
I’m glad our half way weigh-in is before Easter Sunday. I’m going to have to do some major hikes with the hubbie and doggies over the holidays. But it should be all good. As others are commenting, this isn’t a quick crash diet to get a few pounds off instantly (always reminds me of Peter Kay…”FOURTEEN STONE??!! FOURTEEN STONE?!! IN A DAY??!!”)…it’s a way of life, a more sensible and healthy approach to food, appetite, health. Good luck all FDers today.
Day 14 – US – FD
Day 13 – NFD
Hi everybody. It’s a pleasure catching up on all the posts. @lany36 I’m sorry to hear about your job. It sounds very stressful and upsetting. I hope the worst of things are behind you. Happy 40th @missymay, that is a big milestone!
I had quite the setback this week. I ate seemingly everything in sight on Wednesday, a NFD. I was hosting my book club group for dinner, so was in the kitchen cooking during the afternoon and around food a lot and took that opportunity to stuff food in my face at every possible chance. Then after the book club dinner when I was cleaning up, I ate even more, including a half of a pint of ice cream, straight out of the container. Of course my weight was up three pounds the next morning.
Then the following day which was supposed to be a FD, I ended up not fasting because I’ve been struggling with a migraine this week and the migraine plus fasting just felt like too much to take on.
And when I weighed this morning I was TWO POUNDS ABOVE where I started at the beginning of the month, five pounds above my Wednesday weigh-in. Surely most of it is water weight but still it’s going to take some doing to get that off.
Well the only thing to do is get back on that horse, so here I go!
Day 14, Newcastle UK, NFD
Ho hum. @flourbaby. The short answer to your question is no. I’m pleased @skinnylove ‘fessed up first. My 4th FD went very well yesterday until I arrived home from Dad’s at 7pm. OH said the weekend was starting last night and after another hard day gardening I didn’t need much convincing. So whilst it certainly wasn’t a disastrous blip – I can’t claim it was a fast day afterall. Sorry @okeydokey – more spreadsheet amendments for me. And sorry fellow B2Bers. I think maybe 3 in a row might be my realistic limit in future.
Happy birthday for yesterday @missymay – you sound like you’ve had a wonderful week.
@and… exhale – soz about the weather here – very disappointing for the weekend but what we usually expect for bank holiday weekends in the UK lol! You’ll enjoy your visit anyway – we live in a beautiful part of the country.
@tillergirl – well done on 2lb off & @leighs77 on your 4lb off & @helenalee on your steady progress. @fatrabbit – you’re on a roll, doing so well – enjoy your easter treats – we’ll all be back on our respective wagons and trains next week.
@belfastsink – kudos for yesterday’s control.
@lany36 – well done. From experience, I know taking the decision to leave a stressful job situation is the best thing one can do for health and happiness. Onwards & upwards. As one door closes, another door opens.
I hope all our friends in NZ are safe after the cyclone.
Happy Easter to everyone, however and why ever you choose to celebrate. OH and I are certainly thankful and counting our blessings for the good life we have.
Day 14, Kent UK FD
Morning All,
Just checked out the spreadsheet, impressive work. I really feel I should make sure I achieve my 4 lb goal this month to validate the effort. Well Done, it’s commitment, must be very time consuming to update.
Salmon Salad tonight unless I can get some calamari today, love it.
I will not be eating chocolate this Easter Holiday (Not a lover of it)but I will have a hot cross bun today and on Sunday(I know it has sugar in and will break my no white carb rule)plus I am out for a meal on Monday(small portion and healthy, no pud) so I suspect my fast day’s won’t see a good result on Sunday. I have definitely eaten too much on non fast days, healthy food but too much protein. I have been a bit fed up, it’s not helpful in the weight loss process.
Bought myself some bright pink crops and given myself a good talking to, smile and keep fasting, you know it works.
Have a wonderful Easter everyone with or without the chocolate. Have fun!
Day 14……Florida…… FD
So, I fell on my face yesterday. Yep, didn’t even try to catch myself! I knew it was going to be a difficult day, normally the contractors bring treats in for us around the holiday. So, pizza and a pudding cake were on the menu and then they became my lunch. Normally, I’m so much stronger but my will was weakened due to the fact I am a women and Mother Nature must remind me of that every month.
I’m trying for a FD today but I’m home and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
MissyMay….Happy 40th!
Lany…… my thoughts and prayers are with you. Working with toxic people can take everything out of you and your life. In the end leaving your job was the best thing you could have done. Your so much better off! In the end God will take care of you and Karma will take care of her.
Well, today I plan to relax and catch up with me.
I hope everyone has a blessed Friday!
Be classy, sassy and a bit bad assy!
Day 14 Maine NFD
Good morning all! Successful fast day – but seem to have hit a plateau. So far, just 1 lb off for this month. Noticed at work yesterday that I wasn’t drinking as much water or tea as when I’m home. Will have to try to be more mindful – tho, it’s not easy to step away from the desk. Also, have missed my therapy walks. Last night hubby & I went grocery shopping for our Easter brunch – that indeed was challenging! Easter goodies on every aisle, but we did ok. I did not buy ANY Easter goodies – our sons are bringing dessert. Yummy looking Dover sole on sale, so looking forward to dinner! Doing well without breakfast.
@lany36 – congratulations for putting yourself first! I’ve quit a few jobs – valuing my health & self-respect. Difficult decisions due to the “yankee work ethic” I was raised with, but I have never regretted leaving those situations. Each time I have found something that was a better fit & where I was respected. I applaud you.
Make it a great day everyone & a super weekend!
Day 12 NFD Melbourne, Australia
Day 13 NFD
Day 14 FD
Had a shocker of a day yesterday – ANZAC biscuit pig-out. Also eating bread and hot cross buns this week. My body is really not happy with all the wheat back in my life again.
Today I had a lovely long walk by a river and got back on the FD, low carb train.
It just feels better this WOL.
Day 14 UK NFD
I have decided to have a break from the BSD as I am just getting too hungry. Wednesday’s binge needs to remain an isolated incident and not happen again. I tried for a 500 calorie fast yesterday but only managed 800 as I was still too hungry. So I’m having a day off, although I am going to keep to the eating window if I can. I will fast tomorrow and then have another day off on Sunday. I seem to have convinced myself that I won’t lose any weight unless I do the BSD; hopefully I can stick to ADF well and prove that wrong. As long as I get below 14 stone this month it will have been successful and I am very close already.
One of the sets of honeymooning rabbits decided they were not compatible and set upon each other with a vengeance. The cage was full of fur and Jolly had blood dripping off his mouth! His own fortunately, he hadn’t turned carnivorous. He is going to have to remain single for a while as that was his second failure since he arrived a month ago. I will let him be for a while until the right partner for him turns up. He spent some time yesterday sitting next to his new neighbours with a wire fence safely between them.
Day 14 – USA (Utah visiting) -NFD
Weighed in at the gym yesterday and am down a pound but expect this maintenance is really just holding at 160 +/- 2 pounds. That is all good. Plus I got to the gym! Yeah for me!
Went with daughter to “Zookeeper’s Wife” last evening (popcorn supper). It is quite powerful and very moving. Jessica Chastain does a terrific role.
Happy Easter to those who celebrate in case you’re not back to the board before Sunday.
Onward and downward!
Day 14 – USA – NFD
@missymay, happy birthday! @lany36, trust you will find another position soon enough; you gotta do what you gotta do! @and…exhale, have a wonderful vakay! And for all those celebrating Easter, I’m sure you won’t be offended at my Easter greeting: Christ has risen indeed! For all others, have a nice weekend!
Day 14 – SW WA USA – FD 800 cal
MissyMay- Belated happy Birthday! And you’re still on track to maintain Woo-hoo!
Erika45 – yes I’m doing an 800 FD today.
Lany36 – glad you’re experiencing peace following a difficult decision. May you find something healthier for you – will pray along with Bert to that end. Question – what is your altered approach to NFDs?
SongBirdMe – TY for comments on the Zookeepers Wife movie. I’ve seen the trailer and caught my attention
Metatauta – thank you for the Easter wishes!
Easter blessings! I listened/watched Sandi Patti’s YouTube video of her Via Dolorosa this morning – a wonderful way to begin Good Friday! Wish I could figure how to share the link here.
Day 14, USA, Missouri Ozarks, NFD
Hello all, getting ready to eat avocado toast and cantaloupe for breakfast, making the hubby bacon and French toast.
Plan to do some yard work today, it is raining lightly which is great as I planted summer bulbs yesterday afternoon. I LOVE lilies and have hundreds of them, add new varieties when I see them !
Got in extra exercise yesterday afternoon so that felt great. Slept wonderfully, got up early – ready to have another great day !
Adding my birthday wishes to Miss May.
My best to each of you.
