Day 6, Oceanside CA, NFD/CD
Day 7, Oceanside CA, NFD/CD
Day 8, Oceanside CA, NFD/CD
Coming down the home stretch with my time in Oceanside. I have been enjoying double walks every day for 9 to 10 miles total. I will long remember our time enjoying the Pacific Ocean, when I am back in the mountains in Pennsylvania. I lost 35 pounds with walking only over 3 years, so for me racking up the steps with my Fitbit is a big part of my healthy WOL.
Day 8 (already?) -NFD-Canada
Thanks @okeydokey, @sirisan, @at for the well wishes 🙂 16 lbs does feel like an achievement! And it’s been pretty easy doing it one step at a time. The other bonus is that with steady yoga and elliptical use I’ve been toning my muscles and am feeling stronger as I go. Last time I lost weight by going non-gluten I tried to excercise but not as diligently as I have this time and consequently I feel better. Really, staying on top of and valuing ourselves by making time for high-quality food over high-quantity food, and taking time for exercise is key. Ridiculous that the pace of life and stress from feeling the needs of others can sway us off a good course.
Lots of great quotes and fun being had on this thread… I love @bert1802 closing line of late… always makes me smile 🙂
2nd post
Madly busy Saturday again. 2 volunteers short and two bondings to do and lots of grooming but luckily no visitors. There was a new arrival this morning who had been handed in to the blue cross as a stray but who has an extremely long coat and was badly matted. She is not a good candidate for rehoming so they signed her over to us. I dematted her, cut the fur off her face so that she can see and introduced her to a pair of bucks who she immediately fell for. I could have filmed an awful lot of bunnyporn if I hadn’t been busy grooming. The sound effects were better from the other cage though. Some does get very squeaky when they are being humped. Mayfly is an old lady but she was not objecting. And Jolly was very jolly indeed.
More on topic – I weighed this morning and have lost 3 lbs in the first week of April. Yay:) And another half an inch from my waist:) Tomorrow it will be 5 months since I started this journey. I am going to try the new pair of size 34 trousers I bought. Fingers crossed…
Day 8 – USA – NFD
Second Post
@obesa, I bet you were testing us to see if we read ALL the posts all the way through, lol!!! But if you were not kidding, kudos to you! Hope you had a nice time!! @fatrabbit, you make me laugh! There’s a possible way to make funds appear, huh? Congrats on your weight and inch loss!
2nd post, Day 8,
Well………….if it isn’t the naughty naked gardeners swilling down wine in the garden it’s the humping rabbits contemplating a life in porn!!!!!
I NEED these images in my mind to ward of the chocolate hazelnut croissant calling my name……….327cals…(WHAT!!!)…….into the freezer for Mondays NFD!!!!!
@obesa, please tell me there was naked dancing….Pleeease!!! Oh, the joys of spring!!!!
@fatrabbit, wow…..just wow, that 800cal BSD is WORKING for you!!!
Day 8, NFD, USA
don’t want to weigh myself until this oppressive menstrual bloat has passed (guys, you have it easy!!) so will hop on scale Monday after FD tomorrow. Have been staying in control, eating what I want, but a lot less of it, mostly good quality stuff (veggies/proteins/fruits/flaxseed&nuts/high fat dairy). so we shall see….
@metatuata. No, I wasn’t testing it out. It is all entirely true. We were having a lovely time in the sun and got too hot so DISROBED. But we were inebriated so that helped. Tomorrow we know it’s going to be a hot day so decided we would go naked! We have a fairly private garden. Not entirely private, you understand, only the occasional person who pops in but nothing we cant handle.
@flourbaby – only six words – we ended up in the bedroom ……yikes !
Weeding only tomorrow.
2nd post
FD has gone well. It feels good after the out of control week I have had. Just had chicken salad which came in below the 500cal. It was more than I had planned as I ate some chick peas and half a boiled egg, which I don’t normally have. Anyway, tomorrow I hope to do the same – one meal at 500cal – so I’ll join @mregettingthere, @metatauta and @krisnia if you are fasting also.
Exercise has not been great lately either, but trying to do a bit of walking, especially since weather is so nice.
Had 3 interesting Fast Days. Monday was a 33 hour water fast going into Tuesday which itself was a 600 cal Fast Day. Friday was a water fast of around 30 hours ending at breakfast on a non fast Saturday. Despite three days fasting I only !!! lost two and a half pounds. At least it is off and not on.
Good luck out there.
3rd post, Day 8,
@obesa, this might sound like I’m twelve, ………….but……………..OMG!!!!!
I see you say ‘weeding only tomorrow’, but that door slam you just heard was your OH off to stock up on wine, whilst praying for sunshine all day………………….you say weeding, he says……….. ‘ENCORE’!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your 2nd days’……………”gardening!!!!!!!!!1″
lol @flourbaby! We’ll have a good day whatever, and a barbecued spatchcock chicken later. All good fun and it gets the weeding done 😀
Day 9 NFD Melbourne, Australia
Weight 78.3
My weight is going down because I’m generally eating less each day.
I skip breakfast most days – 2-3 cups of tea/ 1 coffee is my norm. Sometimes have a coconut juice, fruit, kefir/yoghurt, spinach smoothie.
I’m certainly letting myself eat things I crave as well as good stuff, but just don’t feel like a lot.
Not sure if I am making my BMR so may have to assess it. Certainly not getting anywhere near my TDEE.
I’m still 5.3kgs from goal, so I won’t panic until I get there and then will have to put the brakes on and eat more.
Anyone else have a problem with eating enough?
Day 8–MA, USA–FD. Intended to make today a NFD, but really had so little hunger that I decided to add a third day this week. I think I consumed so much early in the week that I really just needed to balance it out. I’ve been busy all day with spring cleaning, hoping for a truly spring like day tomorrow (fingers crossed), and a little relaxing.
Day 9 – Tokyo, Japan – NFD 80kg
Yesterday I eat supper even though I wasn’t that hungry. However it was mostly salad. I’m pushing fiber and nutrition. It has been months since I needed a vitamin supplement and I’m trying to keep it that way. Getting nutrition from food is supposed to be better and over the counter vitamins aren’t cheap either. A lot of vitamins are stored in our liver so while fasting we generally okay. I’m not into vegan diets even though I only eat a modest amount of meat at least by American standards. So with the wide range of vegetables we get in Japan it overs the bases even though fruit tends to be a little limited.
I find I tend to naturally eat more calories in the morning and lowers throughout the day. I know many are into supper being the biggest meal and going to bed full. I’m just not into that. Not that I’ve been fasting I’m more comfortable with not always feeling full.
Day 6 Florida USA NFD
Day 7 Florida USA FD I live in FL but traveled to Seattle yesterday. As expected, the travel day was awful eating- I may have gone over my TDEE.
Fast day today was easy, ate breakfast and dinner only. My daughter, who was cooking, made a simple and delicious salad with some chicken for protein.
Day 8 Seattle, WA NFD It’s dinnertime and I’ve had less than 400 today so I know I won’t go over my TDEE- I never do back-to-back fast days although today it would have been possible. May have pizza tonight since I can “afford” it. 🍕Good luck to all !
Day 9 Newcastle UK NFD.
Morning everyone it’s another blue sky day here in Geordie land.
That’s my 3 full week on the 5/2
Dropped 7lbs in that time, I really feel it’s a system that fits well into my lifestyle. I’m loathed to say diet as I know I need to totally change my eating habits and the types of food I eat along with the portion sizes.
Just about to go out on my mountain bike that will complete my first full week of exercise in over 2 years exercise definitely makes you feel good about yourself, still feeling very focused.
Have a great day whatever your doing.🚴
Day 9 – FIN- NFD
Today’s weight: 61.9 kg
It’s been a while since I’ve seen the scales stop below 62 kg. I’m actually a bit surprised by this weeks weight loss, but I’m glad to see bigger changes in numbers after not seeing much happen for the past few weeks. I suppose this also supports what I’ve earlier read about losing weight: the fat only really starts to come off after about a month.
I feel a bit silly not commenting anything about what happened in Stockholm in yesterday’s post and instead describing the weather, especially since this attack hit so close to home – I last visited Stockholm only about a month ago and walked along the very same street (Drottninggatan) where the attack took place. The frequency of attacks this past week alone both east (St. Petersburg) and west (Stockholm) of us is something to be worried about (although I refuse giving into fear and let the terrorists win). I’m once again saddened by the many lives lost through the actions of a few hateful people.
Now off to fill my right and duty as a citizen of one of the 19 full democracies in the world: voting!
@dykask Thank you for sharing your story! I’m glad to hear you’ve found a way to improve on your quality of life though changing your eating habits. I also find it smart that you’ve taken advantage of the environment you live in to make that happen. I think that even in your case the key has been that you’ve listened to your body and made changes accordingly. Like you wrote, we’re all different, and thus I believe that some trial and error is unavoidable to get us on the right track.
Despite not knowing for sure, I do feel like I might have a threshold like you. I have no issues when it comes to eating fruit, but now, having kept the sugar intake on a minimum for over a month, eating a few small slices of cake Friday last week had me feeling all sorts of wonky afterwards. That could also have been the possible lactose talking, though.
As someone who’s had a long term interest in Japan and its culture I’ve enjoyed reading what you’ve shared about your life in your posts here. I hope you don’t mind me asking, but do you speak Japanese or do you get by on English alone?
Day 9 Kent UK NFD
Weighed in this morning after 5 weeks, one pound up. No excuses, I had a bad couple of weeks at the end of March, emoitional roller coaster time and needed a break from control zone. So I am going to do a ‘zero cal fast’ tomorrow and hope for the best. Glad I didn’t weigh in last week, goodness knows what it would have been. Three excellent fasts this week and nfd’s good too.
Still plan on weighing weekly on Sunday mornings to help control non fast day weekends.
Good Luck everyone!
Day 9 UK FD800
Today it is 5 months that I have been intermittent fasting. I weigh 197.8 lbs (just under 90kg) this morning down from 198.6 yesterday and 201.6 on April 1st. The BSD seems to give steadier progress, but I suppose that is to be expected as it means eating more consistently so less variation in gut contents. I am still finding it really easy. After being used to fasting at 500 800 still seems like a generous amount of food even though it is every day not every other day as I did before.
I didn’t have a working set of scales or a tape measure when I began in November so I don’t have starting measurements and don’t know my total losses to date which is a pity. But this morning I fit into size 34 trousers and when I started 44s were too tight and I could hardly bend over. I am particularly happy that the legs fit and the hips as being mens trousers they are not as generous in those areas as womens ones would be. I never know what women’s sizes would fit me as the sizes seem to make no sense and the legs are usually too short anyway. Two months ago I was 220 lbs and all my measurements were 4 inches bigger. Extrapolating back I think I must have started at close to 250 lbs. It was bad and rapidly getting worse. It took reaching that point to make me do something drastic like fasting, but it has been far less difficult than I expected. Once the carb cravings go fasting becomes entirely doable. But I couldn’t have done this without giving them all up (except those in veg). I used to get so hungry when I ate tortillas and pasta and bread and rice all the time. Now I only eat veg and pulses and a little cheese and it all tastes wonderful, I think my taste buds were broken as well as my hunger hormones.
Happy dances will be done throughout the day:))
Next goal is to get under 14 stone (196 lbs).
Day 10 UK NFD 🌈
Start of April 167.6lb
Today 166.0lb
We are moving in the right direction!!! Considering I’ve had meals out and not been able to exercise this past week (due to long work days) I feel that’s ok. Slowly but surely I’m definitely a tortoise not a hare. Unless putting on the weight seems to be a hare in that scenario 😂😂😂😂😂
Have a lovely successful day all.
Day 9, Newcastle UK, NFD
Congratulations @fatrabbit – brilliant news! Onwards & downwards.
As far as my day went yesterday, the only highlight was reading about naked gardening and bunnies doing what bunnies do best.
OH and I had a rare shopping trip into Newcastle and the M&S changing room mirror did for me. Didn’t buy a thing, came home, went to pub followed by chip shop, followed by chocolate and digestives, and blew the entire weekend’s calories (and then some) in one day.
Three weeks today we set off on holiday and I am now in panic mode. AGGGGHHHHH – why did I do it????!!!!!!
Day 9, London, UK, FD.
Looking forward to todays’ FD, yesterday I blew 1/3 of my calories on snacking and I’ve never really snacked before, my problem has always been gargantuan portions!!!!!!
I just COULD NOT stop!!! I’ll try to go 23 hours on tea and water, then have a lovely vegetable soup at about 7:30, just before hanging that ‘kitchen closed’ sign!!!
Good luck everyone, Happy Fasting!!
