    I´m from Iceland. I´m new in 5:2 program. I was six years old then I goes first to hospital of Iceland to learning eat and lose weight.

    Now I´m 34 years old and I´m 148 kilograms.

    I have go to the mini gastric bypass program and more another to lose weight, so not of those work for me. The year was 2002 then i goes to bypass.

    I want help with lose weight. I can´t have any help from Icelandic hospital and another program here. The staff say about me at I´m “keys” “problem”

    I want help lose weight. The porblem some I have, is so much.

    What can I do to go to 5:2 food program. I have the book in Icelandic translate some Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer author.

    I am an Australian with Norwegian heritage and have also always had trouble with my weight even as a child. I now realise from thinking back to ‘small signs’ that I had a high level of insulin, which is a hormone that causes you to put on fat. The 5:2 fast works because it ia only fasting that lowers insulin.
    I’d like to suggest two other websites to support you with extra information in this way of eating because it has helped me not to eat any carbohydrates too. In fact i have only lost about 10 kilos since Christmas but my body has changed a lot, so I am grateful and don’t use the scales so much at the moment because it can throw me off course!! I should say that I have type 2 diabetes and this makes it tough to lose weight (all that insulin). A Swedish dr Andreas Eendeldt has a website diet doctor.com all about low carbohydrate high aft eating. In English and Swedish. Through that website I found dr Jason Fung a kidney specialist in Canada who treats people who are seriously overweight and or with diabetes and he has a program that,people in other countries can sign up to plus lots of information.     I understand you. I will have my first fast day on monday in next week. Monday 1.juny 2015 and so will I fast on thursday. Then this is very intresant.

    I second Dr. Fung’ s web site! It is invaluable! Start at the beginning with “Calories”, and read everything.

    Dear Valgeir,

    Something that may help is to follow a 4:3 pattern instead of 5;2. I find it is harder to eat a lot the day following a fast day, but I tend to eat more two days after a fast day. That also helps keeping insulin levels low on more days.

    Finally, only have protein and vegetable on your fast days. That will also keep your insulin low.
