  • Making a big batch of stews, curries, sauces, soups, and gravy and putting them in the freezer is a great way to save time and save on food waste. It also helps me to stay on track, as I don’t need to think about cooking, so the temptation to have something unhealthy is less likely. Just remember to take out what you want to eat for the next day! If you do forget(fairly often, in my case), my go-to recipe is a Hairy Dieters omelette (two large eggs, feta, peas, mint), which is quick and delicious. Or a smoked mackerel fillet with a big watercress salad hits the spot nicely. You also can’t beat beans and rye toast with a poached egg on top.

Great idea about batch cooking. I should start doing that myself!
