To fast or not too fast when ill

  • Hi everyone been doing this for 5 weeks,lost 2 kg which with hypothyroid and amount of meds i take is a small miracle lol but more importantly my shape is changing and with 5:2 and exercise 3-5x a week dropping inches . So far had no issues but since yesterday been feeling ill,everything hurts and feel horrid. Today is suppose to be my second fast day( cant do wknd) but Im struggling.
    Whats your advice on fasting when ill?

    I believe the best answer is to eat healthy food and don’t worry about fasting if you aren’t feeling well enough – the good food will nourish your body to help stave off the illness.

    My answer, as I was sick two weeks ago, was to change nothing and to continue fasting as usual. I did this because I felt that giving up the day would be harder on me than sacrificing it and in the end it worked out okay for me.
