I’ve been doing 5-2 for 2 weeks, Monday and Wednesday. On Tuesday I feel very tired and not wanting to do anything. Do you think that it’s connected to going to the gym on Monday when I do my fast day or am I eating the wrong foods?

Hi Jennifer,
From memory the advice is to ensure you eat sufficient protein on your Fast Days.
I know of other studies which show that exercising on an empty stomach shouldn’t be an issue, but you could just try changing your gym day one week, or not going, and then see how you feel.
It does take a little while to adjust to 5:2 and 2 weeks is very early in the process. I hope it works for you (I’ve been on it for 11.5 years, so it can be a sustainable way of life).
