  • Having followed 4:3 IF since 2013 I managed to get my weight to ideal BMI in year, losing a total of 13kg. Very happy. See tracking here:

    Then I went on a month-long vacation. It was very hard socially to follow IF in a big-family setting. So I discarded it intentionally for 1 month. No IF, no weighing.

    I was expecting to gain let’s say 3-4kg, but what surprised I got upon my return… 8+ kg!! That’s like 2kg/week.

    The moral here is no I can’t stop IF to maintain ideal weight.

    Hope you got over your shock! I bet you will lose most of that quite quickly.

    I do 4:3 almost every week as well and (with the exception of Christmas and my main holiday) I have stuck to this for a year. I still have a bit to lose before I get to my ideal weight. I am hoping that I would be able to maintain on 5:2 but really this way of eating and living has become 2nd nature and so easy to fit into my lifestyle without feeling deprived that am not sure it would bother me to have to continue to maintain my ideal weight.
