Starting first fast tomorrow!

  • Hoping for some good results. Have not lost any weight since my 6th baby was born last year. May need encouragement and fast day tips.

    My tips: plan your fast days; don’t beat yourself up if you go over, especially in the beginning; drinks lots of water, coffee, tea; stay busy; have a salty soup/broth when you start flagging in the afternoon.

    I also made a personal choice, even before starting 5:2 (or 4:3 in my case), to cut out processed food as much as possible. Fast day dinner is often a vegetable and chicken stir fry. In general I cook from scratch, and shop on the outer edges of the grocery store.

    Thanks for the tips. I’ve done two fast days since last Thursday. I felt pretty good about them. Is it safe to do 4:3? What made you add an extra fast day?
