  • …after giving this a go for the last week I’ve not lost a lb! Didn’t expect to really because although I did fine on fast days and came within my 500 calories, I totally blew the other days by going over. Plus, being a lady of ‘that certain age’ and not having had a period for over 3 months they have returned this morning so I’m guessing that had something to do with the overeating! Usually I would have put weight on though so the fasts have stopped that which is heartening.

So starting this properly today and due to the fact our holiday is 12 weeks today my husband’s joining me this week too. I’m giving 4:3 a go this week in an attempt to kick start some weight loss and as long as I can reign myself in on non-fast days I’m hoping I have better results next week. Maybe some duct tape over my mouth on none fast days would be a good idea lol!

    So onwards and downwards.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

    Hi Karen

good on you for not giving this up, keep going and you know exactly what to do, am sure the 5.2 magic will kick in ๐Ÿ™‚

good luck and happy fasting x

    Hi Karen,
This is not a fast (speedy)diet this is a way of eating that involves fasting.
Have you read the book (or the threads on this forum) and have you taken your measurements, particularly waist and weight.
There are many health benefits to intermittent fasting one of which is weight loss. If I were you I would continue 5:2 for a month to allow your body to respond to the changes.
    Then re-calculate your TDEE here

Well done for getting husband on board, this should help you too.
    Keep it up ๐Ÿ™‚

No not giving up yet, there seem to be so many benefits to this so I’m sticking around and hope I reap some of them. I forgot to weigh and measure before I started and guess its too late now so just going to go by my clothes and how they fitโ˜บI know its not a quick fix and I’ve been avidly reading the threads on this forum so have a good idea about how it works.

    Thanks for the encouragement
    Karen

    Hi:

People starting 5:2 sometimes don’t begin losing weight for weeks: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/really-no-weight-loss/. Hopefully that is not a reason to give up.

Here are some tips for someone just starting: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/warnings-to-newbies/

    Good Luck!
