I have only lost a total of 2lbs on this diet.
Fortunately, after reading the whole book through twice, I realised that actually losing weight was not what I really wanted.
I have a fairly active job and rarely exceed 1400 calories a day, but I was lumpy and bumpy and felt tired and irritable most days.
I’ve been doing the 2 days fasting for 5 weeks now, and have lost 1/2 inch off my waist, 1 inch off my bottom and an inch off each thigh. My clothes fit much better, colleagues have commented that I am looking slimmer in the face, and I seem to have more energy and am calmer than before.
I’ll confess now that I have been experimenting with the recipes in the book and downloaded some other 5:2 recipe books, so I think the diet has changed the way I think about food and made me healthier, which was my real goal, any actual weight loss is a bonus.
