  • Day 9 Belfast NFD 🐢🍷💪
    Enjoyed a couple of glasses of sav blanc last night with smoked salmon. Yum

    @bigviking that puts a whole new slant on the saying ‘filling your father’s shoes’ – now it’s ‘filling your son’s trousers!’  Fantastic result.
    Welcome @fancy finch, gratitude and @
    Mimi Anne -any day is a good day to start on your journey to good health!  It certainly looks like you’ve taken the bull by the horns fancy finch!
    @dykask enjoy your trip
    @daffodil2010 sounds great.  Enjoy!
    @mari – enjoyed your story!
    @califdreamer – 2 years now.  My mum was at the end of her life, had heart failure and this fuelled my decision to quit.  I live a flight away, so i was able to stay with her a week at a time. I shared the caring with my sister and that took the heat off her a bit.  Mum died in December 2015 so by the time we’d all her affairs sorted it was spring 2016.  OH and I went to Rhodes then Australia/NZ for 9 weeksam last autumn. I am now very busy with exercise classes, the garden, catching up with friends, travel, the caravan, I’ve signed up for an art class this autumn but I still have lots of time on my hands and I really miss the company and craic in work.  It will beat a new challenge. Keep moving at all costs!
    @mogaman enjoy your wedding
    Yes @coda ‘bendy’ is the operative word! Confronted last year with a beautiful wood floor in my class and only my friend as a witness I did a passable cartwheel (was a sport/gymnastics/ballet fiend in my childhood/early teens)  BUT I should have stretched before and the muscles on the inside of my thighs were sore for days! That’ll teach me to show off!
    Sorry to see you go @quebecoise and bonne chance.
    @linda sue I would have ‘despatched’ those wasps before I painted!

    Sorry for the long post.

    Keep fighting those dragons!

    Day 9, London, UK, NFD

    I’m hoping that my fellow fasters endangered by the weather worldwide are staying safe.

    Yesterday’s CD (controlled day) went well, although I had it completed as a 21:3 at 900cals, then thought it seemed more like a FD so added a pack of crisps and a bar of chocolate – I actually thought, “I’m not hungry, but I haven’t had enough cals today for a NFD!!!!” I thought that kind of warped logic came after a few glasses of wine…………………. Now I know I’m officially stupid, without the vino!!!!!

    Aiming another CD today but I’ll remember to engage my brain before eating ANYTHING!!!!!!

    Just a quick update…..

    I haven’t been able to read any posts nor even focus on this WOL. We are in full prep mode at this time. I received an alert that, we are under a full fledge hurricane warning. Our is in evacuation zone E. They started evacuating Aand B yesterday.

    All travel out of the state is all most impossible….. pretty much grid lock. So, driving out the area is no longer an option.

    This morning, we are running out and grabbing a few last minute supplies.

    I’m sorry, that my posts are more about the weather than our WOL, but I wanted to keep you all updated as much as I can.

    Well, I’m off!

    My husband told me to stop acting like a flamingo, so I had to put my foot down!

    Day nine Newcastle UK 🇬🇧 NFD.
    Well the two fasting days seem to have done the trick back at 182lb this morning. I might try the water fast one day a week although I did struggle on the last one I did.

    Hello day 9 from Co Down NI nfd

    Must rein things in feel i am not planning and keeping to said plan so eating on spur of the moment like buttered toast this morning?

    I can’t imagine @bert1802 what it must be like for you. Something out of a movie except it is real and happening. Please continue to post updates about your situation. Hope things calm down b4 it gets to your zone. If you can’t get out of the state where do you go?

    @flourbaby no more stupid than me having a Cornetto last night. At least we stayed off the wine! Without that it could have been a whole lot worse.

    What to do that is the question.
    One of my customers has left a large Starbucks chocolate coin in my taxi now do I eat it lol or give it away

    Day 9, Emden Germany, NFD

    Stay safe and take care @bert and @penz.

    @steve toon taxi driver is it worth eating it, if not, just give it to the next customer.

    Day 9 – NFD – Boston MA – 164.6 lbs

    I’m thrilled to report a full 2 lb loss so far this month despite last Saturday’s high calorie consumption! Yay!

    I really feel like fasting has truly become a way of life. That’s not to say that it’s easy, because it’s not, but usually by the third week of a new eating regimen I’m trying to find reasons not to do it, including researching to find out why it could be bad. I haven’t felt that way at all with 5:2! And I’m so glad for it, because it’s working stupendously well!

    @stevetoon if you are eating it for sake of eating keep it for a time of your choosing if you haven’t given it away by then. Or you could look at it and decide if it has good stuff or rubbish in it and then decide if you really want to eat that!

    Day 9 -USA (UT visiting) – NFD

    Keeping busy here with DD and 2 Granddaughters. Not the best food choices yesterday, but still maintaining.

    Still watching Irma coverage and praying Jose would just take a different track. I watched a little video about how hurricanes form that was informative but also scary. @bert1802 – hugs to you and yours as you prepare.

    @quebecsoise – au revoir, until you come back again.

    Onward and downward.

    Day 9, Northumberland UK, NFD

    Day 9– Colorado USA- FD

    Currently doing a B2B2B. Last meal was dinner on Wednesday.
    Thursday = 165 calories
    Friday = 530 calories

    So far today, not feeling hungry at all. Hope that lasts. If not, there’s always “drowning the dragon” method! 💦🐉

    Doing this extended Fast for my gut health. Struggling with another Crohn’s flare-up right now, so giving my bowel a nice rest. Trying to avoid surgery. Plus, that PAIN sure adds motivation to stick with my Fasting!!

    And, even though red wine is a liquid, I’ll be sticking to my no alcohol Dry-Wino pledge for September!

    Day 9 North Wales NFD

    Day 9, Rocky Mountains, US, NFD

    Air quality is much better at the moment. So off to a hike it is! Yeah!

    Take care @bert1802 and @penz, thinking of you and wish all the impacted people and animals all the best and good luck!💙🌸💚🌺💛🌼💜🌹💟

    Day 9, MA, US–NFD
    Day 8, MA, US–NFD

    Day 9 – USA – NFD

    Good FD yesterday, 476 calories. Spent some of the day making stuff: basil pesto, salsa, mushroom soup, homemade greek salad dressing and a jalapeno popper spread. It let me use up some of the produce in the fridge and kept my mind occupied as we lost my former SIL and keeping an eye on the reports on Irma.

    Day 9, Gozo Malta, nfd

    Prayers for you bert and penz and all the people effected by the oncoming hurricane. May God be with you all.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

    Day 9 McMinnville Oregon USA – FD
    Day 8 – NFD

    Well my last FD went sideways, the last 2 days have been out of control. Too much takeout and fast food. 😟 Afraid to weigh myself.
    Arrived home yesterday from Seattle. It’s time to press the RESET button.

    @bigviking – Congrats on the new pant size. 👖

    @redrockgirl302 – A shift in the wind and the air cleared. I saw the sky and clouds yesterday for the first time in several days. What a relief. Enjoy your hike.

    @bert and @penz – Thinking of you!!

    @flourbaby @bigviking @happymargo & @jessyoursize – 9 days down, 21 to go! 💪

    Day 9 Lancaster, PA US NFD Controlled
    I have been AWOL sorry, I’m usually able to post more often. Family matters and basically a lot of running around, Dr. visits for the family. My father in NC is having a heart issue that is flaring up. I’m hoping we can work through it without him having a stroke.
    @bert1802 @penz I’m wishing and praying ✨🙏✨🙏✨🌈✨that all goes well and Hurricane Irma does not damage your property and any people or things in your area. I’m glad you posted to let us know. …Oh I wish I had a flamingo emoji 😊
    We have family and friends in Florida, Hilton Head Island Georgia and Carolinas making their way out of the Hurricane areas.✨🙏✨🙏✨🌈
    I need to find the spreadsheet and update my days.✨
    Thanks to everyone for continuing on with your fasting, non fasting and maintaining! ✨🌈✨

    Day 9 – SW WA USA – NFD

    @redrockgirl302 – glad you’re able to hike again

    @saffy420 – yay for seeing 200! I briefly saw the other side of it at the end of August after several FDs. When I started eating again, it’s gone back up. Sitting at 202.6 this morning. We’ll keep encouraging each other and get below that 200 more securely by the end of September. We can do this!

    @at – I’m happy for your maintenance! That seems so far off at this point for me, but you help give the hope.

    @steve toon taxi driver – I didn’t know Starbucks had chocolate coins. Interesting! Let us know what you decided. Is it good enough chocolate to choose to eat it?

    @quebecsoise – au revoir Hope you come back to say hello on occasion.

    @happymargo – Hopefully your Chrons incident settles down. It’s good to know the fasting can help

    @metatauta – wow, you were really productive! Sorry for the loss in your life.

    @Bert2802 – thanks for keeping us posted on your status. Praying!

    Remember, together we are stronger!

    Day 9 UK NFD

    Day 9 Vancouver Island NFD
    Still struggling to get back into this “WOL” , it’s all good until I have company or we are on vacation ! ( which has been the last couple of weeks) Nothing really crazy , more my mental attitude 👎 that has to be re calibrated which is obviously what got me here in the first place ! it will be all good 😊
    Thinking of you all in Florida and Irma’s path 🙏

    Day 10 NZ FD

    Day 8 NFD st Louis USA
    Just now had an opportunity to scan through post for last several days. Have been a world wind of family, work and household repair people in and out of my house. I really want everybody out of my house for a while. Haven’t weighed myself this week. Planning to stay with one day a week fast on maintenance and probably weigh myself on the day after my fast day. That will still give me a baseline I think.

    Anxiously watching the news and concerned about all the devastation with hurricanes and flooding. Not just here in the US but other places as well. Here in the Midwest we did have pretty severe flooding in St. Louis in 1993 always concerns that we’re going to get hit with a big earthquake. Still, we have to live our lives and prepare as best we can for ourselves and our love ones. I pray all are safe here and your love ones as well.

    On my way to a birthday party this afternoon and another tomorrow. Will do my best to enjoy myself but not overindulge to the point of extremes. At least that’s the plan.

    Maayaa. Your Coco milk recipe sounds delicious. Think I’m going to give it a try. I love the flavor of coconut.

    All my best to all of you.

    Day 9 California USA NFD

    @bert1802 and @penz – Thoughts and prayers are with both of you. I have a friend who is north of Tampa that seemed to not be in danger a couple days ago but now Irma is headed in her direction. Very worried. Please keep posting and let us know what’s happening.

    Day 10 Sydney, Australia FD

    A third of the way through the September challenge already. Time goes so fast! Have a wonderful day everybody.

    Day 10, Emden Germany, NFD

    @bert1802 and @penz hope you’re safe.

    Day 10, Guildford UK, CFD

    Praying Irma passes by and dies.

    Mari

    Day 9 Belfast ☔ NFD

    Had a good CD yesterday.  We went out for a meal last night and had half a lobster, salad and a few fries, washed down with sparking water. (Pocket winos👍)
    @okeydokey hope you get all sorted and your dad stays well.
    @happy Margo – hope you feel better soon
    @mjmj I know exactly where you are coming from.  Doesn’t it seem that a week’s hard work is blown away so easily?

    Wishing you all a safe and peaceful Sunday.

    Day 10, UK, NFD
    Holiday weight all gone. I am now below the lowest point I got to in August. Now it is all about being mindful, remembering the eating habits that removed the flab and sticking with them. Now is NOT the time to celebrate! 9 days of Dry September (aka Dry Wino) Club done. 21 to go!

    Hope our friends in Florida are staying safe.

    Day 10, London, UK, NFD

    The weekend is almost over, so the wine dragon has been drowned!!! I’m hoping to not jinx this, but………this weekend has been surprisingly easy to be alcohol free, last weekend it was a bit of a novelty, however, I do have a family lunch to contend with today!!!! Practicing my “no thank you”; “no I really don’t want one, thanks”; “no I am not dying!!!!!”

    I hope my fellow Dry-winos are staying strong!!!!

    @bigviking………………….I assume it was……………”Just one cornetto!!!” You’re so right, now is not the time to reward ourselves….. lose 3lbs – eat entire cake to celebrate, stay dry for 9 days – guzzle 9 days worth of wine, gain 1lb – commiserate with cake AND wine!!!!………… THIS is the warped logic I have to kick myself over!!!!!!!

    I’m really hoping that those suffering the effects of the hurricanes, flooding, earthquake and fires remain safe.

    Day 10/NFD/Melbourne Australia

    @flourbaby Good luck with the lunch! You’ve got this!

    Oh, and @flourbaby, no singing was involved 😜🍦

    Day Ten Newcastle UK 🇬🇧 NFD
    Back at goal 😁 after creeping 5lb over. Still doesn’t feel like a diet.
    Love this wol.

    Day 10 UK NFD

    Day 10,Wales, NFD

    Day10 UK NFD

    Yesterday was a bit out of control, I lost an argument with a bag of wine gums! I meant to buy the tube of gums to share with my oh on the drive back from Wales but hey the bag was only 30p dearer so obviously had to buy that.
    @annemarilyn, I’m holding your hand as we both try to jump across the divide between the 100s and the 200s. Seeing it on the scales makes you realise that you can do it.

    @bert1802 @penz thinking about you and Irma. Hope you’re both doing ok.

    Happy Sunday everyone.

    Day 10 – Woking, UK – NFD
    240.7lbs
    Last day before I start my weekly commuting to Germany for my new job. Hoping to get out for a walk later after clearing some admin (including doing my tax return!).
    Still targeting getting under 17st this month and I think I should manage it.

    Day 10…..Florida……CD maybe?

    Miss Irma has let my dragon out of her cage. Ive eaten nothing but junk for 2 days now. And I gain 2.5lbs….. What the hell! I got to rein this crap in……

    I’m starting to catch up with posts, so please bear with me….

    @bigviking…… Size 32…..wow bud, so proud of you! Good thing your son, save those jeans, he must have known you were gonna need them!

    @debster….when I had time, I loved to volunteer…. I think doing a little good, keeps us humble and grateful for what the good Lord has given us. The most valuable thing in this world is our time!

    Can remember who commented but I take a potassium tablet for leg cramps…. works wonders.

    @ dyskask…… safe travels! I hear China is a wonderful place to visit. Just remember they value their customs, I think the only country that still does, so please be mindful of that. Stay safe my friend!

    @califordreamer….. I really like flyladys system, and honestly following it has given me more time to enjoy the little things. However, the last couple days, I’ve not followed the plan because eating and getting ready for Irma has taken all of my energy. I did unsubscribe to her emails though. They were getting to be way to much, I think it’s just easier to go to her website.

    Welcome to the couple of newbies we have!

    Okay, now for the update!

    Last night before bed, Irma was headed for the keys. This morning, I’m outside catching up with you and having my coffee, the wind has picked up a bit. No rain yet.
    I haven’t watch the news this morning yet but from last nights up date, she is suppose to make land fall south of us on the other side of Tampa. Which, is about a 100 miles south of us directly under us. So, the prediction is she could be a Cat 3, when she makes it into my neighborhood. If she would just move a tad bit west, her center could miss us but hit the panhandle. It kills me because I want her to move west but at the same token, by doing that I feel like I’m wishing harm on others. Ugg! This is one wish that’s difficult to wish for!

    Okay, I’m going to head in and start my day!

    My husband told me to stop acting like a flamingo, so I had to put my door down!

    Day 10, Rocky Mountains, US, NFD

    Ate to my TDEE yesterday. Had actually a loss of .8 pounds today and maintaining a bit below weight goal! 😊😊😊

    Today Brunch with friends. Have to make healthy choices! Before that- another hike is planned! 😊😊😊

    Thinking of our Florida fellow fasters
    @bert1802 and @penz. May Irma get weaker! All the best!

    Have a good Sunday everyone! 🌺🌻🌼

    Day 10, Gozo Malta, nfd

    Dear @bert and @penz you’re in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you’ll be safe and sound when Irma passes by.

    I had two of my daughters and families for lunch today. I only served a two course meal. I served teriyaki beef with roasted potatoes and apple and blackberry cobbler. I marinated the beef from yesterday and everyone said it was good. I also had a glass of sweet sparkling white wine and a small ball of chocolate.

    This afternoon I’m also going out for a coffee with my sister in law.

    My granddaughter has another virus but she showed us all how she could dance after going to her first ballet lesson last Wednesday.

    Keep on fasting everyone, onwards and downwards.

    Day 10 – USA – NFD

    Rushed to my emails so I could hear from you, @bert1802! Glad you are so calm and hope all turns out well for you and yours today.

    Day 10 Canada NFD
    Away from home and busy working at an event. Fairly confident eating but missing routines. Will catch up on posts in a day or two.

    Day 10 – USA (Utah visiting) – NFD

    Watching so much about Irma and Florida. I have cousins and their families there, also cousins and their families in Alabama and South Carolina. So many prayers for all who are in harm’s way and their property.

    @bert1802 and @penz – hugs and prayers for you too. Thanks for keeping us informed about your conditions, Bert, but we know how you feel that Irma would just not bother anyone!

    The fall for many of us include watching football in the USA – yesterday it was college and today professional. Enjoyable fun, trying not to be a couch potato with snacks and adult beverages though!

    Maintenance is still my game – doing pretty well despite taking the granddaughters to “Leap” last night and a whole tub of movie theater popcorn. How I enjoy that….

    Onward and downward.

    Day 9 Massachusetts NFD Did okay at the wedding reception. Left before the wedding cake served and had one wine cooler. The appetizers were great though!
    Day 10 This has to be a very controlled day for me to make my goal of 6000 calories/week. Another family party tonight so I won’t eat mid-day. Many challenges to the WOL this week!

    Day 10 McMinnville Oregon USA – FD
    FD went ok yesterday, I had a bit too much hummus around 4pm so closer to 800 than I would like to be. I’m going to go for a B2B today in hopes of undoing the damage I caused earlier in the week.
    We actually had a sprinkle of rain during the night, we sure need it. ☂️ Such disparity across the US and the globe.
    Be strong my global friends 💪🌺

    @redrockgirl302 – Yeah for you and losing/maintaining!

    Day 10 North Wales NFD
