  • Day 7 Canada FD

Unfortunately yesterday’s FD was a bust. I had way too much work pressure and was feeling awful by 1pm. A small snack grew and grew! Oh well, the great thing about 5.2 is that today is a fresh start.

This month is a wild one or me. If can keep on track next month will be a cake walk!

    Day 7 – USA – NFD

Good FD yesterday, although slightly over 500 calories. @happymargo, congrats on your will power; @bert1802, stay safe! @redrockgirl302, feel better and congrats. on reaching your goal wt.; @coda, did I miss your birthday?

    Day 7, Belfast, FD

@basyjames – happy news! So glad for you.

Thinking of peeps in Florida and Carribean, California…crazy world events. Big hugs, stay safe.

Joining today’s FD pocket list – good luck all! Added a few extra names too…

Day 7 NFD St. Louis USA

All my best to all of you

Day 7 – SW WA USA – FD

@flourbaby – thanks for including me in the b2bers. Someone mentioned they were doing FDS M – Th. I think that’s what Ill plan on for the next while. Then controlled NFDs.

@big_bill – good for you doing so well on a 2 week stretch in Thailand.

@tenoro – are you in Iceland? Idea for FDs, have a variety of beverages ready to stay hydrated.. I like sipping on a mug of broth, or red passion tea. It’s important to have something to look forward to on FDS to make it through more successfully.

@redrockgirl302 – too bad no hiking due to air quality. We’re having indoor activities only at school going on 3 days now.

@basyjames – so glad you had a good report.

    Day 7 Chester UK NFD.

Yesterday’s FD went ok food-wise, just over 500 cals but I was starving all day. There’s a bit of a lull in work and although it’s nice not to be busy it leaves too much time for thinking. It’ll be manic again in a couple of weeks and I’ll be complaining I’m too stressed and need food probably!

Thinking about all our group in the States and the Caribbean. Pictures on the news look horrible. If it’s not Irma then it’s fires. We’re so lucky in the UK that we very rarely get extremes of weather.

Trying to be really controlled today, according to MFP I should be around 1000 cals. I’ve got a 21st Birthday party and friends 25th Anniversary party in the next couple of weeks so need to be on my best behaviour before then.

Good luck everyone for today, I’ll be fasting tomorrow.

Day 7, Denver CO, NFD 143.2 lbs

Still on my marathon national parks tour and spending final week with DD and our grandchildren. Hopped on her scale this morning and delighted to see that I had not gained for the past 4 weeks. I did have plenty of exercise and some delicious dinners including Cosmos during the vacation. This WOE just works so well for me.

Back to Mountaintop next week and a slower pace. Will be back to FD’s twice a week. We’ll see what happens. Maybe a few more pounds to go.

Day 7 USA FD. Have a nice day everybody = )

    Day 7 California USA FD

The scale finally moved again. I lost 2.6 lbs or about 1 kg overnight, and yesterday wasn’t even a FD. Sometimes it’s hard to figure that scale out. Confirmed it with a second scale. So hopefully today’s regular FD will cement that loss and I won’t see it go up again.

@pamie – Hope your OH is improving today.

@bert1802 – Stay safe. I hope Irma winds down before it gets to FL. Worried about everyone there.

Good luck to everyone today and happy fasting to those who are joining me in a FD.

@metatauta – no my birthday was in May but this was a gift of a spa day I am getting to use now. Really looking forward to my afternoon tea and my treatment.

Day 7 McMinnville Oregon (Seattle till Friday) USA – NFD
Yesterday ended up closer to 800cal. but I’ll still call it a FD.

    @basyjames – Good news, such a relief

@steffieagle – Your national parks tour sounds wonderful, I hope to do that some day. ⛰

    Day 7, Wales, FD

Keep well and safe everyone x

Day 7, USA (New Jersey), FD

    Hello Everyone,

Working from home today which always makes FDs extra challenging for me. So far so good. I’m hanging in there with half the day gone. Good luck to everyone. have a blessed day!

Day 7 – Cuenca, Spain- NFD

Checking in, still living la vida loca in Spain. Currently in a Parador getting ready for our swanky dinner reservation at 20.45. Not doing too well with good food choices, but it is holiday time and I will be back with a bang (hopefully not a bounce from too much fat gain) in another week or so.
Checking in shows my commitment 😁😁

Day 7 – USA (Utah visiting DD) – FD

Just had a chance to read up posts — wow, people are really dealing with a lot of concerns! I cannot begin to imagine how some of you are coping with weather, fires, and health concerns.

@basyjames – – yeah that it wasn’t anything worse! I had to have a 2nd mammo and ultrasound last year, so I understand the anxiety. I go later this month for this year’s annual. Last year, the ultrasound technician was training another woman, so both of them were working on me! Mine turned out to be a cyst about 2mm in size, unknown cause, but also nothing to be concerned about. I was sure it was because of my weight loss, something was showing up.

@annemarilyn and @awilson – hope your fire concerns are not materializing!

@bert1802 and @penz – may Irma just be a bad dream for you.

@happymargo – you did better than I did yesterday. My lunch break at O’Hare airport did include a McD’s right by my gate when I needed lunch. The more expensive restaurant down the way would have included some wine, so I opted for BigMac and fries. I honestly can’t remember the last time I indulged with that menu! But as we know, some indulgences happen on our WOL.

Doing a FD today to make up for my bit of going over TDEE yesterday.

    Onward and downward!

    Day 7 – ABQ – FD (1st of B2B)

Yesterday’s NFD actually did turn into a CD! I couldn’t believe it! My lunch out to La Madeleine’s actually came in at 651 cals and its sustained me all day until I had a very light dinner of only 200 cals! Bringing my total for the day to 1442 cals. Pretty dang proud of that!

Today is day 1 of my second B2B fast, last week I self sabotaged telling myself that it was okay to go up to 800 (or 1000) since I was doing two. Not this week! I am keeping both days under 500 cals!

@happymargo – you should definitely go check out La Madeleine’s (wait a few weeks for the crowds to die down though), it was a favorite to for me and one of my college bff’s to go to and she had celiac disease. Even though it’s a bakery and there will be lots of breads & pastries the do have quite a full menu of other options (including gluten free!). Take a friend and make a girls day out of it! And try the salade sampler, it’s my favorite and you always get to try something new! Plus strawberries with brandy cream sauce are considered a “salade” there (hope that doesn’t go against our Dry Sept 😂 ). And I hear you on the McD’s pass up! If it wasn’t for this forum, I don’t know how often my willful car would have driven itself right up to the drive thru!

    @bert & @penz – thinking of you both!

@BaseyJames – OH WOW!! That is such good news, I know the cysts can be a little scary, but at least it’s not anything more! You are still my thoughts. And go you for passing on doughnut holes! I never can!! You are a stronger person than I!

This my second week with the Fast Diet and while I did okay the first week, I am really struggling with cravings today 🙁

    Day 7 UK NFD

    Second post, Norway, FD

    Way to go @happymargo!!

Today has been the easiest fast since my beginning. I know i can thank cocosmilk for that. I made a soup-ish meal with the cocosmilk, chili, pepper and tiny piece of pork for lunch… about 150kcals….. Kept me full the entire day..(very early lunch today due to meetings at work)..had the rest of the soup for dinner (early dinner at around 3:30pm), 350kcals, and its almost 9pm here, and still no hunger and no cravings. Just made some more of this for tomorrow…aiming for a CD tomorrow, and hopefully also saturday and sunday.

Nice to read all the success stories and also the other stories…every ones FD is slightly differrent…a good motivator for sure. Looking forward to my new “weigh-in-day” which is gonna be friday mornings instead of tuesday mornings.

My new scale given me more than my weight…. my fat % is soooo high!!!… hopefully it will slowly and steady creap downwards.

    Day 7 Vancouver Island
    NFD
Thinking of all the people in Irma’s path 🙏

Day 6 Massachusetts USA Today ended up as a CD.
Day 7 Today is a FD. Next two days are wedding festivities so I’m going to try for CD’s so my week doesn’t go all to hell! 🔥

    Day 8 Waikato NZ NFD

    Still day 7 –

@daffodil2010 – I’m living vicariously through your Spain vacation. It’s been sooo long since I’ve been to Cuenca. Glad you’re enjoying yourself!

@cleo120 – Happy Birthday! Have a wonderful day!

@maayyaa – what is cocosmilk? Maybe coconut milk? I’m glad you found something tasty for your FDs

@newbeginnings83 – yes, FDs are often different on different days. Hope you make it through okay. I’m on a FD as well. Today, I’m having a little bit of cottage cheese and raspberries at lunch because I was hungry. Then I’ll having something small for supper. Some days I do liquid only and am fine. Hopefully it’ll work out well for you.

    Day8/NFD/Melbourne Australia

Haven’t had a chance to catch up on posts. Hope everyone’s having a healthy, positive and safe day.

    Day 7 – Cumbria UK – NFD

A busy and controlled NFD ☺️

    Day 8 Sydney NFD

    Day 7 Portland, OR FD

Had a very controlled NFD yesterday- right at about 1000 cal. Fast day today is going well so far. Work has been a bit of a stinker so I am fighting the urge to go home and cash in my 500 calories on wine. 🙁
I have been off my exercise routine for 2 weeks. I’ve got to refocus and make that happen. Work stress always seems more bearable when I’m exercising regularly.

@maayyaa – Would you share that soup recipe? It sounds delicious!
@califdreamer – Congratulations on the scale drop! That’s so awesome!

    @cleo120 happy birthday 🎂

    Day 8 – Tokyo, Japan – FD 81.9kg

Funny I feel a little puffy this morning but my weight is down considering yesterday was a NFD. This will be my last FD for at least a week, maybe even 9 days. I guess this will just be a break.

@bert1802 – Well I don’t think excessive protein is a bad as excessive sugar. However in the modern world, one would have to work really hard not to get enough protein. Even vegans have no trouble getting enough protein. Some of the strongest weight lifters are vegans too. I’m not surprised though that you have a friend really into eating protein. Frankly I never thought about it much until recently.

Day 7, USA, Missouri Ozarks, NFD

Hello all ! Finally made it to the September challenge and want to thank our host ! Just back from a little late summer getaway and ready to get serious about a month of healthy eating. Way too many snacks and sweets have been “sneaking” in. My weight is staying in maintenance mode but I feel I need to eat better and plan to do so.

Exercise fine (back to the planks, missed them too much), no problem with drinking lots of water.

Lots of reading to do…. my best to each and everyone.

Happy Birthday Cleo ! And many more…..

Prayers for those in the path of the hurricanes and fires. So much going on at once, scary times. Not to mention that little crazy loon in North Korea.

    @annemarilyn : Thanks

It’s a testament to the effectiveness of this lifestyle that I was determined to eat whatever I felt like and as much as I felt like, and yet I ate sensibly most of the time (while enjoying the food immensely) and I didn’t just eat for the sake of eating.

    Day 8 | Sydney Australia | FD

Back into the fasting today. No food yet today, just a couple of cups of coffee. I think I’ll have some soup for lunch and maybe some vegetables when I get home from work.

I hit the gym this morning, I’ve decided to shake up my exercise routine and lift weights for 10 or 20 sets at the start of a workout (followed by cardio) rather than just sometimes doing about 5 sets at the end of a cardio workout if I happen to have a bit of energy left.

Getting ready for bed after BTB fast at 500-600 calories per day. Don’t plan on eating till tomorrow night for a nice movie and Friday night meal. Hungry…but glad it’s over.

Day 8 Norway, NFD (hopefully a CD)

I agree with you Big_Bill, i too dont eat just for the sake of eating, i really check if im really hungry or if its just a craving. Sometimes i give in, but most of the time i dont. I ve been a really “good girl” this week. The NFD’s turns in to CD’s, so as you say, even though i can have some of this and that, i most of the time chose easily not do, and if i do, i dont just gulp it down…i really taste every bite, and ENJOY 🙂

Of course i want to share my Coconutmilk (the reason i chose to call it just cocosmilk (Kokos comes from Kokosnøtt) and the name of the can says KokosMelk (as in CocosMilk), they skipped the nut (nøtt) part…so i was in doubt to call it coconutmilk…but ive read about it…and it is the coconut”meat” made into milk, kind of… I learned the different brands vary in kcal pr. 100ml/100gr…i have one with 68kcals and one with 81 kcals, both the “light” version…the “whole” version has 181kcals…so big difference.

I just have one can of coconutmilk in a wok pan (just because i love that better than my regular pots) and add lots of chili powder/spices, curry, pepper, koriander, red peppers (paprika) actually any kind of veggie one wants, and in stead of regular salt i’ve used soy sauce (kikoman), and of course fresh chilis…im above average in love with chili…with anything. And then i add some lean pork og chicken. Im having this again for lunch today, while my coworkers are eating the unhealthy pasta bolognese prepped in our work-cantine 🙂

Had a weigh in today…. can i really already hit a platau? Maybe i lost too fast in august/my first 30 days (6kg)… i had gained 1kg last week, but now i was down 800grams again…so happy for that… My water % has been stable on 36%….low? My fat % had dropped 0,5%.

And another question…i’ve not done exercise yet (besides walking my dogs)…but today while walking down the hill to my office, my thighs (front muscles) felt sore, like i really did a heavy squat exercise yesterday…anyone knows why?

Day 8 Newcastle UK 🇬🇧 FD
Second fast day this week due to me being a 4lb above goal. How did that sneak up on me. I’ll see where I am on Sunday with my weight and decide if I need to fast for two days next week as well. Good luck everyone keep at it

    Day 8, UK, NFD
Slowly but surely the weight is coming off. Have a good Friday everybody!

    Day 8, India, FD
Today is the 3rd day of my b2b2b fast.
It’s been good so far. Worried about the weekend though….

Hello from Co Down NI Day 8 NFD but controlled (sort of)

Planning on just having my afternoon tea and enjoying every mouthful, then afterwards it’s on to a class so won’t be getting home until after 9.

Have a good and safe weekend everyone x

    Day 8 – France – NFD

1.1 kg down this week, yay!

It’s funny having to reformat a whole lifetime of eating habits. No, I don’t really miss breakfast, I don’t need that comforting biscuit when work’s finished and to be quite honest I’m not having sugar cravings at all. I might even try skipping lunch on my FDs next week.

@coda, it’s handstand day today isn’t it? Enjoy!!

    Bisous

    Day 8, Wales, NFD

@maayyaa – I got leg cramps in my first month of 5:2, then I got a craving for salt. I’ve cut out bread and processed foods and my body seemed to be needing salt so I added a little salt to my fresh veg and salads and the cramps stopped.

Yesterday’s FD was challenging from late afternoon as I felt proper hungry so I read some posts on here for inspiration and then drank 4 mugs of herbal tea – managed to last out to my basa and veg dinner and was then fine till bedtime. I do still find it surprising that I can wake up after a FD with no hunger.

I haven’t heard any news yet this morning, it’s so worrying with all the mad weather and crazy world politics – some days I just try to avoid the big picture and just enjoy my little bubble…….but still thinking and praying for all those affected by the current horrors.

Take care everyone and have a great day……oh it’s Friday, red wine night…….sorry Dry Winos!

    Day 8, Northumberland UK, NFD

Yesterday just about squeaked through as a fast, and the last 2 days were probably 16:8 anyway due to starting as fasts, which helps. Next few days are busy, with little time for cooking so will be NFD, but shouldn’t be anything too overboard.

    Day 8, Gozo, Malta, nfd

I’m eating out twice today. It’s a public holiday here today.

Have a great Friday everyone, onwards and downwards.

    2nd post

So happy for you Basyjames that you have no serious health problem. Take care and thank you for your work on this month s challenge.

Prayers for those in hurricanes way. As someone said let us be extra nice to those we know and around us.

    Day 8, Belfast, NFD

Had a good FD yesterday. Loads of water, late dinner.
However, I have just been greatly annoyed by some managers in work…going to get through this by drinking more water whilst I finish a job application form 😉

    Good luck everyone!x
