Racing and fast diet

  • Hi there,

    I have just recently started the 5 2 diet but as a newbie there is still aa few things i am unsure of.
    Most weekends i like to compete in 5k/10k obstacle course races (not exactly long races but i worry about if my body would be able to handle running during a fast day).
    What would you guys and girls recommend? Having your fast day the day before a race or on the day of a race? it’s so my body has enough fuel in it to finish the race comfortably.

    I always exercise on an empty stomach, and have no problem doing so on any day. There are others on this forum who will say that they find it difficult to exercise on FDs. There is only one way to find out if you can cope with it or not.
