  • Hello from India.
I ate my last meal at 11.30 am yesterday and didn’t eat anything since then (unintentional). I usually fast Mondays and Thursdays. So effectively I went by 26 hours without eating anything but a coffee, and ate a leafy salad at 1.30 pm today. So can I assume my 26 hours of fasting as a fast day completed, and can i continue the rest of my Monday as a regular eating day?

Just confused if i should continue the rest of monday as a fast day or can i consider one fast for the week done?

It’s generally assumed that an evening meal will be your last meal followed by your fast day, then sleep, then breakfast (if you have breakfast) which will give you approximately 36 hours.

There are no hard and fast rules but I’d simply extend my fast until tomorrow morning giving 48 hours. That said, a shorter fast on one day isn’t going to make much difference to your overall diet if you normally do 36 hour fasts.

Hello Pot Bellied Heron! Thanks for your response. Yes, that’s what i do, eat-sleep-fast-sleep and then eat, but i was wondering if this 24 hours of complete fasting would count for something. apparently not 🙂
