  • Hello, new on here I wanna ask if I just quit smoking about 13 day’s ago should I even attempt a 5:2 or should I wait until I’m feeling more normal again?

I thought quitting cigarettes wasn’t giving me the results fast enough so I tried to intermittent fast but I’m not sure if I can handle the stress from not smoking and eating at the same time.

    Suggestions?

    Hi Mistakes,
I think it all depends on the individual here. If you’re the sort of person who relishes the challenge of quitting smoking and adopting a healthy eating lifestyle at the same time I would suggest giving it a try. On the other hand, if you have all you can handle on your plate 13 days into quitting smoking (well done by the way, I quit in August last year) then perhaps delay 5:2 until the nicotine cravings have reduced as you do not want anything to jeopardise your efforts to quit smoking.

Thx, makes sense and pretty much what I had in mind.

I think I’ll try to fast on some days randomly but only whenever I feel like I can take it.

I know I’ve tried to fast & quit smoking at the same time before I got so much stress & resistance. I hated the feeling so much it scared me to ever wanting to do it again.

I gave up smoking 5 years ago, you have to stay strong, 3weeks was very testing, then 3months was difficult, but after that it was fairly easy, I used to smoke 40 a day for over 40 years. I joined a forum for the smoking, now there is a group of us on Facebook that are all good friends. The forum I joined was called click2quit,i used niquitin patches and it’s there website.
