  • been here before but i am just so lazy, On 5:2 and LCHF went from 110k to 97k but then just drifted along and arrived at 105.k ying hard but can only get down to 101k and drift up again even though i only eat around 2000 cal every day
Now i have Puff a two year old pug and he must have a walk every day without fail and we are about to up that to two walks each day to reach 10000 steps each day as now we only do around 5000.
at the moment i am 101.9 but need to be 75k as i am 78 and only 5’6″ – if i was 6’5″ would not be so bad but i have open heart surgery and on the brink of type 2 diabetes so a weight loss is in order and urgent

    kind regards
    peter

    Hi Peter,
Just bear in mind that you can’t outrun your fork. You will never be able to do enough exercise to lose weight unless you change what you eat and how much.

I suspect that you are consuming too many carbohydrates. Try giving up bread/pasta/rice/potatoes completely( my fried has lost 3.5 stone by simply doing this and my son has lost weight too). Make a meal that comprises of meat or fish and vegetables or salad. Avoid anything ‘diet’ or low fat.

Have a look at Dr Aseem Malhotra- a cardiologist, who talks about the truth about sugar and fat. Have a look at Robert Lustig and Jason Fung. Any help?

G’day Annette – thanks for your time an ideas on how many carbohydrates each day ?
    kind regards
    peter

    Hi Peter,
Have your carbohydrates in the form of fruit and vegetables. Are you ‘up’ for ditching the rice/pasta/bread/potatoes completely to see what happens? Remember that a healthy waist measurement for a man is 37 inches around your belly button, NOT what your trousers say!
