  • Hello everyone, I hope you don’t mind me posting on this. Believe it or not over the last few days I have re read all the comments/feeds on this post, and I wanted to let you know that I think you are all a lovely bunch! πŸ™‚

I am pretty new to my 5:2 WOE, (on week 3 doing 5:2) and so far I have lost 8lbs. I have a fair wee bit to loose, but so far so good! I am hoping that I can join in this support network and keep each other going. My fast days are a Monday and Thursday, and I weigh in on Friday mornings.

How are you all getting on? Its great to hear your success stories, you are all really encouraging that this process/lifestyle change works! πŸ™‚

    Take care, A

Hello there! This is Charmaine and a big welcome. Please feel free to join us. Your week 3 results arr impressive! Well done! We have grown to a nice big group…from across the world…and all ages πŸ™‚ see you around and good luck πŸ™‚

Good morning all (or afternoon perhaps for some of you now!). I hope you are having a good day πŸ™‚ Who all is fasting today? My week has been kind of moved around because of weekend events, so I’m fasting on M-W-F this week. Yesterdays fast day went extremely well. It’s amazing to me how much easier the fast days have gotten now. I really don’t have much hunger until mid afternoon on those days now, no headaches, and my energy level is very good on fast days now. However, regardless of fasting Saturday and yesterday, the scale has actually gone up a half a pound (which I realize isn’t a lot). For some reason, I kind of expected to plateau this week, which is what I think will end up happening. It was extremely unusual for me to lose the amount of weight that I had lost in the last couple of weeks. Perhaps the rest of my body needs time to catch up. I’m not letting it deter me though, as I know this will happen! I’m going to keep close watch on food on my non fast days though, just to be sure I don’t get in the way of progress. Although I did that last week, I will admit to having some a few ice cream treats on my non fast days!

Anyhow, good to hear from everyone! Sounds like I have lots of company with doing three fasts this week. Hopefully all of them will be as easy as my first one was yesterday!

    hi manda and welcome,

my name is taletha or pam depending whether you’re on here or facebook. your loss is fantastic, keep it going! I also fast Monday and Thursday but don’t weigh until a sunday morning.

it is Charmaine we have to thank for this lovely bunch of people as she started the thread and we’ve all sort of climbed onboard at various times. you will soon get to know everyone x

Jeannie – glad to hear your fast went well for you and I hope the other two go as easily. I think our bodies do their own thing at times and I regularly used to get disappointed at fat class when I thought I’d had a good week only to be disappointed on their scales!! now I have altered my mind set with this diet and know that I am doing the eating plan to suit myself and my own tastes (in a food sense) and the weight will leave me. it will never ever be as quick as I’d like but we will all get there by hook or by crook!!

FAST DAY AND 208 CALS SO FAR

PAM WHAT TAKES YOU TO YOUR MUMS? DOES SHE LIVE near you?

yes david. she lives just about 5 minutes away

Fasting folks! I have lost 2.6 lbs of my holiday weight…and today again is my day of fast. I’ve already planned a delicious menu of rice, dal, spiced yam and chicken…all measured out in small portions to give me two 250 meals. I am sure most of you don’t know what I am talking about πŸ˜€ I just finished 4 consecutive days of my HIIT and can see my stamina build up.

I am starting a ONE MONTH CHALLENGE for myself. Here’s Please feel free to give feedback and suggestions:

    1. 4:3 fasting – 500 calories. So Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
    2. HIIT Monday to Friday. Saturday – maybe some cardio – walk, Zumba
    3. Water – as much as I can every day!
    4. I will eat regular Indian food that is prepared for my family and limit my portions to 500 calories on fast days and under goal on others.
    5. I start this at 168.6 lbs…(already am at 166lbs). Will post my weight after one month on 16 July 2014. My goal is to lose 1 kilo a week – hence 4 kilos which is 8.8lbs (already lost 2.6lbs)

They say it takes 21 days to make a habit and writing my schedule here, I’ve made myself accountable.

You can join in or cheer me on…and I of course will support each of you either ways!

And now for my usual chit-chat πŸ™‚

Pam – I am so glad I started this thread! Best thing I did in the last quarter! πŸ™‚

Jeannie – you sure have company doing 3 fasts a week..I’m with you, Karen is too and Pam as well. Way to go!

Will hear from you all later I am sure πŸ™‚

Wow Charmaine, good for you! Some of us will be cheering you on from the sidelines and I imagine some will join you in your goal. I’m doing 4:3 this week, fasting today and tomorrow (already did Monday). Yesterday I ate for England (chocolate, wine, cookies, dips for supper etc etc)so needing this 4:3. I’m counting Monday’s weight as my starting point so want to lose about 4 lbs, hopefully it won’t take me as long as it did before! Your menu today sounds lovely Charmaine, I love Indian food. My next year’s holiday has an Indian restaurant which I’m sure me and hubby will frequent at least once or twice during our stay.

I’ve already started doing some sit- up’s (and walking with Harvey of course) and will get back to hula-hooping at the weekend when I have more time. Today I’m taking homemade veg soup for lunch and having a ham salad for tea. I normally stick to similar things on fast days because it’s easier for me.

Well better go for now so lets go for it girls (and Ken of course).Let’s check in later to see how we’ve done. x

Morning everyone! Thanks for the encouragement and the welcome. Next fast day is tomorrow, but feel like i didnt have a very good day yesterday, so trying to be more cautious today.

Charmaine – Thats an amazing goal and a brilliant loss! I have been toying with the 4:3 idea, but I dont know if it will make it harder? I can do the exercise part. I go to about 5 gym classes a week just now, i just want to try and have more control over what I am eating if that makes sense. I will maybe think about doing something similar for a month, but set some of my own goals and see how i get on. πŸ™‚ But I am sure you will find lots of support, especially on here!

Did any of you find it difficult switching to 4:3 some weeks? I have been thinking about it, because ideally I have still got quite a lot to loose and thought it might help, but i dont want it to be too difficult and me end up eating loads!

Karen – I wish i could hulahoop! I am useless at it. How do you manage with the 2 fasting days together?

Sorry for all the questions! I cant talk to my friends and some of my family about my 5:2, I dont think they would approve, and not all of the books can give a view of what its like.

Hope you are all doing great. And good luck if today is another fasting day for you.

    Take care, A x

    Hello Everyone πŸ™‚
Manda = Welcome to our thread , A lot of us know what family and freinds can be like with this way of life , But you stick with us on here and your going to be just fine, if you want to find us on FB my name is kenneth Livesey and i wear a football shirt , from Rochdale , there i think you got it all ha ha ha . Oh yes and my fast days and weigh day are the same asyour own , as are a few others on this thread.
Jeannie = tbh i am expecting to plateau any time soon as my losses have been steady all along , but hey we just keep going because we all know it is not a quick fix diet it a long term way of life.
Karen , Charmaine , Pam keep going girls i know you all going to be brill today
May the Calorie force be with us all
    ken x

Hello Manda – I completely understand your apprehension with switching to 4:3…for some of us we use it to get a headstart or to lose a bit of weekend or holiday weight. Most of us do really well on just 5:2 and see a steady loss. I think once I got a hang of what to eat and how much of it, adding another fast day was less challenging. Until then, I suggest you stay on with 5:2 and the work out at the gym. I also know what you mean about friends and family…most of them roll their eyes…so I don’t talk about it at all, and neither do I freely talk about it on FB even though I’ve added some folks from here. I don’t want to have to deal with the remarks and the disbelief and the “it sounds like your starving…how could you do that to yourself” or “I am sure it’s on of the fad diets”.. πŸ˜€ I am happy with how I am doing and plan to secretly surprise them all over the coming weeks…oh what a good feeling that will be…but jokes aside…I’m doing this for me…and it’s working! πŸ™‚

Hi Ken – good to hear from you!

and Karen too of course! Thank you for being there! Hope you colleague returns quickly so you don’t have to be a “one man show” at work! I get excited and cannot talk enough about India πŸ™‚ and if ever you visit…you know that I’ll be happy to show you around! I was going to ask about your hula looping…I stopped fake hula looping…:-D Speak to you later…

    hi all,

manda – think I inadvertently called you Amanda yesterday. apologies for that. I think we all totally understand where you are coming from with not having people to talk to. it’s a lovely little secret to have knowing that you will surprise all those non believers one day and then can proudly say I did it via 5:2

Charmaine – whereabouts in india are you. I’m not very well up on that part of the world (I get lost here in the uk) it’s lovely to speak to people from around the world and this thread is becoming quite multi-national x

Karen – it’s hard to cover someone’s work. there are only two ladies here and we split things between us (cant rely on any help from the lads!!) when she is on holiday it’s tough going so can appreciate how it affects you

ken – cheerful and jolly as ever. it always makes me smile when I read your thread and you are a great pick me up when having a tough day. a lovely man x

david, Jeannie, dee, debby and anyone I have missed, have a lovely day

    take care all x

    Hi Everyone!
Manda, as far as doing 4:3…I started out with the intention of doing 4:3 only because I know I have other challenges (thyroid issue), and I wanted to move things along. But I allowed myself to be flexible, meaning that if it didn’t work out to get 3 fasts in a week, then so be it. I knew that with doing 5:2 I could still make progress, but maybe a bit slower. Well, I have actually ended up falling into doing every other day fasting over the past two weeks. This is only because of “events” we have on certain days that would have made it hard to get in the fasts any other way. And I’ll be honest…it’s not been a problem or an adjustment AT ALL. I do not find it difficult to go every other day. The beauty is that IF I change my mind, then big deal…I just eat on that day :). But so far, because I’m seeing such great progress, I have no desire to. I love this program most of all because of it’s flexibility with my lifestyle.

it’s also funny you mention about friends and family and how they would react if you told them about this eating style. I was just thinking this morning how I’m doing my fasts M-W-F this week because of a family gathering on Saturday. I just didn’t want to deal with people asking me why I’m not eating or whatnot. And then, I was thinking this morning, how funny it is that so many people are so concerned about other peoples eating habits! Why do people care? Why do people care if I’m not eating a piece of cake? πŸ™‚ People can be funny. Anyhow, I’m not telling others as well. My husband knows and is extremely supportive. In fact, I sometimes think he’s more excited about my progress than I am! lol

Charmaine…those are some great goals for over the next month! I think it helps to have everything laid out like that. I will be here to cheer you on!

Ken, it’s great that you’ve had steady losses. I hope you DON’T hit a plateau. I just think that they are inevitable! As you might have seen on our FB chat, after 8 days of hovering around the same weight, I finally dropped a pound, so I’m a happy girl!

I’m thinking about adding in some HIIT workouts. Right now, I’m not doing anything but walking my dog, and yoga once a week. I may add in 3 HIIT workouts a week, just for fun.

Karen and Taletha and anyone else I have missed, I hope you are all doing well and have a fabulous day!

In a way its great to find out my family are not the only ones that would be like this! Will wait till I am “buff”, and in my skinny jeans before I confess all! πŸ™‚ Today is going better, and i have a Sh’bam class tonight!

Ken – Thanks for the welcome, and I will add you on FB if thats okay. x

Charmaine – Thanks so much for that, I think i will take your advice, and if i have issues with weight loss stalling or that maybe consider it then. But thanks so much. And I also cant wait for that moment! πŸ™‚ but my secret for now (Hubby knows! but thats about it) x

Taletha – No apology needed! Amanda is my “sunday” name… or the name my mother shouted when i know i have done something wrong! πŸ™‚ x

Jeannie – Thanks for that, its nice to know that I should be able to manage it if needed, and like everything it would probably just be an adjustment. I just need to make sure I am in the right mind set. I think as long as I am loosing okay on 5:2 i will try to maintain, but if it slows/stops i will maybe need to shake it up a bit! My husband is supportive too, but somehow manages to eat what he wants and never put on any weight… he goes through 3 multipacks of chocolate and a bakewell tart a week!! And thats on a good week! But I just need to try and have will power when he is eating it all, or its in the fridge shouting on me!! x

Have a good day. Fast day tomorrow so will probably post again then.

    Take care, A

    @jeannieoh

“how funny it is that so many people are so concerned about other peoples eating habits! Why do people care? Why do people care if I’m not eating a piece of cake?”

The truth is that people really don’t care what you eat, unless it’s your mother when growing up.

I’ve found that others thrust their own fears and emotional baggage with seemingly good intentions.

I’ve responded with, ‘that’s true for you’, in similar situations. Saying it with a smile helps to reduce any tension.

    ➰

mandy or is it ann? or amanda? the “skinny jeans” will come to you as a bonus when you are NOT WATCHING! focus on your fasting days- and stick with us!

charmaine started us all off earlier this year and I just keep on getting such lovely compliments on my weight/appearance, then when I get away those trousers i couldnt get into FIT! and others i need a tighter belt for,

rocky are ou diabetic-?the only time i eat cake is when I am NOT on a fast day

CHarmine i started on tuesdays and thursdays fast days- but my routine keeps on varying-like going away- or to staying with relatives or not being there for a friday weigh in-or cycling/not cycling to work- so I will focus on trying tuesday -thursday fast days-but had a real craving this morning coz my host in n”castle are on a NON CEREAL-very LIGHT Breakfast diet- i was so desperate for a braekfast bar- but just had an apple until those nice nice bickys around 10am with coffee- so thats what happened after yesterdays fast- but xcesize seems to be best antidote to hunger! apparrantly 25 mins cycling is 300 cals!

Davidrob – I answer to pretty much anything! πŸ™‚ lol. But Amanda or Mandy/manda is fine. Amanda is normally my name mum shouts when she is mad at me! the rest of the time its manda. I already feel being part of this is helping. I dont feel as “lost”, i think thats the only word i could use to describe it. πŸ™‚ Thanks for all being so nice! I have had these trousers in my bottom drawer for over a year… and they still have the tags on. I am determined to fit into them at some point, they have even moved house with me! So hopefully this will help. Thats amazing that you are doing so well! thats something to be really proud of. A

    @davidrob

“are you diabetic-?the only time i eat cake is when I am NOT on a fast day”

I may be considered pre-diabetic and I don’t really know what that means, however, it doesn’t sound good.

I don’t eat sweets or cakes. Except. I did have some pieces at a recent graduation ceremony and it tasted good.

    Who invented chocolate covered strawberries?

    ➰

great and quickly are different, loosing weight quickly is unwise and 5.2 doesnt advocate that, but my goal is to get into suit rousers I bought in 2008, and in line with my good/helthy BMI range-but 5:2 suggests TBEE rather than BMI as measure

manda – where are you from? it’s nice to know that there are others to chat to. helps ease the path in my opinion. I think we all have clothes like that πŸ™‚ I know I certainly have x

david – nice to have set fast days but also nice to be able to move them around. lovely that people are commenting on your change of weight/appearance. can I ask your age? just curious as younger people usually find it a little easier to drop the weight

Jeannie – you are doing so well with your 3 fast days. like you I haven’t really said what I’m doing but will when the time is right. people shouldn’t care what we eat but they seem to have a knack of making us feel guilty one way or another. don’t let anything spoil your special occasion

Taletha – I am from Livingston, in Scotland. Yeah it really does make it easier. Helps being able to talk to others doing it.:) x

Good morning all! Day 1 of challenge was successful…! Will post my weight at the end of every week of the challenge…so next Tuesday. Thanks everyone for cheering me on!! Means a lot.

David…:) you are doing so brilliantly! Keep it up and stick with whatever is working…the compliments will keep coming!

Manda…I will stick to calling you that…unless you fall off track…then all of us will write Amanda in caps πŸ˜‰ just kidding. You are doing well!!! Keep it up..we are here for you.

Karen…good luck for the back to back…you are brave and will make it. I am doing it with you πŸ™‚ to keep you company πŸ™‚

Ken…good luck to our ever cheerful and fun faster…:-)

Pam, Dee, Jeannie, Andrea…good luck and I quote Ken….”May the calorie force with with us” πŸ˜€

    la_dolce:

You asked for suggestions for your challenge.

I would skip the exercise. It could lead to water retention and reduced weight loss. You will be losing fat, but gaining water.

    Good Luck!

Simcoeluv…you are like our 5:2 guardian angel…I was only just looking at my first post and appreciating you for your input. My HIIT is causing some water retention…I have been told it sorts itself out. No excerice at all would be ok?

Morning Charmaine, good luck to the pair of us on our back to back today. I’m focused and ready for the challenge, bring it on! Glad your first day went well and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a loss for you next tuesday.
Ken keep the force going today because I’m guessing you’re fasting with us too, good luck, Manda, David, Debby,JeannieOH, Pam and everyone else hope your day goes well today. I’m bound to have missed someone so I apologise in advance!

Well short for time this morning so better finish getting ready for work, have a great day wherever in the world you all are and I’ll check in later to see how we did. x

    la_dolce:

It will sort itself out, but maybe not in your timeframe. Exercise is very important, and I never would suggest anyone not exercise. But exercise really does not burn many calories unless you do a lot of it, and if you do a lot quickly the water retention slows your weight loss. As your timeframe is just a month, starting to exercise almost seven days a week just won’t help that much, and may hurt – not your health, but your desired weight loss.

I would stay at your previous exercise level and go for your weight loss. When your challenge is over, up your exercise to whatever level you want – understanding it may slow your weight loss progress for a bit.

But the overall goal of weight loss is better health, and exercise is definitely a part of that, so I never suggest not to exercise so you can lose weight. I do try to warn people that start a diet and begin to exercise that initially they may not lose weight as fast as they would like and they should not quit the diet because it does not work.

    It does.

Thanks Karen! Simcoeluv – thank you for that. I will keep it in mind. I do understand what you are tryung to say. I have always noticed a slight weight gain when ever I start a workout program. I am doing 20 minutes of HIIT which is known to be good for inch loss but not that great for weight loss. Quick wins are what helps me move forward…so will give it a week and see how I am doing…if weight loss is not happening…I know it has to be water retention.

I may have missed your other posts…but do you have anything to share on the types of IF? Is 5:2/4:3 the best way…or is daily fasts ok too? (19:5 etc.)

    Thanks again!

    la_dolce_vita:

Any weight loss diet only works if it creates caloric restriction. The amount of the restriction will determine how well the diet works – fast or slow. The type of diet will determine how long some one can live with it before quitting, and how well they maintain their weight loss after they quit. Eating nothing but grapefruit will cause you to lose weight fast, but you usually can’t do it for long, and rarely keep it up after you lose the weight you want to lose.

5:2, 4:3, 6:1, ADF all create caloric restriction because, if you do them right, you eat only 500/600 calories in about a 32 hour period however many times a week. You can overeat on your non diet days, but unless you overeat so much on non diet days that you erase the caloric deficit(s) caused by the diet days, you usually will lose weight at some pace, basically determined by your TDEE. The difference between your TDEE and your caloric intake will generally be the amount of fat (not water) weight you can lose in a given time period.

As 5:2 and friends teach you how to control your calories, but let you eat the foods you like, they are also proving to be good for both time on diet and weight maintenance. Time on diet is important because it allows a person to stay on the diet long enough to lose all the weight they want (if not as fast as they want). Weight maintenance is important for long term health and not feeling like a loser for gaining back weight you fought so hard and long to lose.

There is some really interesting research going on concerning other impacts of intermittent severe caloric restriction, but for now there is no question that 5:2 and friends are very effective weight loss and weight maintenance diets.

Non IF diets work just fine for weight loss. They generally target about a 500 calorie a day deficit (of course it varies) and often prescribe what types of foods you have to eat (low fat, low carb, grapefruit etc.). Of course, all experience to date indicates they don’t seem to work for really large weight losses because it is hard to be hungry day after day and/or only eat certain foods for the months on end it takes to lose 50 or 100 pounds (I know, a few make it), and, after a person ends the diet they usually gain it all back and more. There are many reasons for the regains, ranging from the body getting used to the consistent lower caloric intake (a lower TDEE), thus slowing/stopping weight loss (and making it easier to gain it back after the diet has ended), to the individual just not being able stand the hunger or the dietary constraints that come with these daily reduced calorie diets for any longer than they have to. I also believe carb addiction has something to do with weight regains, but there is no research that supports that belief.

That gets to the 16:8s 20:4s and the rest of the one day diets. My observation is you can follow them precisely and gain weight. After all, a person can eat quite a few calories in a couple of hours if they want to. So they really depend on the person to restrict the caloric intake. They say calories are restricted because, for instance, you don’t eat breakfast. But you can then eat a 2000 calorie lunch and be following the ‘diet’ precisely. I constantly see people start on 16:8. It does not work for them (they eat too much in their 8 hour window) so they go to 20:4. When they get to 23:30:30 they tend to finally lose some weight (just exaggerating a bit).

So I think that if limiting your eating to an ‘eating window’ works for you, great, but that is a function of your personal eating choices, not having anything to do with ‘the diet’. I guess its cool to say I’m doing 23:1, instead of saying I’m eating less, but in my opinion, they are at best standard, every day calorie restricted diets that carry with them the same problems all other every day calorie restricted diets carry. And none of the potential benefits that may come from periodic, severe, caloric restriction.

My general thoughts on caloric restriction are here: http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/52-calorie-restriction-v-fasting-for-newbies/. The TDEE link has a bit on how the numbers work and how to figure out how much you might generally expect to lose on any diet plan you might develop.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion. You must do whatever works for you!

Good Morning to all my Fasting pals from a sunny Rochdale πŸ™‚

Karen and Charmaine – good luck on the second day of your back to back. I truly hope it works for you both as you have tried so hard πŸ™‚

manda – as ken says there are a few of us on FB. feel free to add me. my name on there is pam jo and is a picture of two cats on the sofa.

simco – I had a look at the article you kindly put on for Charmaine and like ken found it interesting and informative.

ken – good luck with the fast day and I’m sure you will manage to “stay away from the beer!!” I also fast Thursdays and it is going fine so far.

hi to everyone else. hope your day is going well either fasting or non fasting.

    take care all x

    hi taletha,
not a good day i binged on 400 cals of brakfast bars for breakfast today – coz my newc’y hosts are on a “souhtbeach” lookalike diet so been getting sugar/caffiene withdrwawl symptoms but I did do 16 lengths swimming last night and 1/2 hr walk there and back.-like b4 next weigh will be x fingers 3 weeks- one week so far.

my aunt says i eat too much sugar not as bad as too many cals though

    hi david,

you sound really down today after your mishap with the cereal bars. we all have bad days and I’m sure you will pick up and come back fighting.

brilliant about the swimming and the walk. sounds like a good workout and be lovely to be in a pool after a hot day.

I will keep my fingers crossed for your weigh in. you have plenty of time to reverse any little gain.

I asked yesterday how old you were if you don’t mind me asking. as I mentioned I’m just curious cos younger people seem to lose weight a little easier

    Hi All,

So far so good on the fast today, just had loads of water and a couple of coffees so far. I did jump on the scales and have lost the 1lb put on from last week but know that could be short term. Tonight will be hard with the footie (oh Ken I feel your pain) as normally it would be a couple of beers or wine or both!

Good to see the newbies on here…Welcome, its such a friendly group and these chaps definitely have kept me on the “straight and narrow” since I started, keep popping on the thread when you can to motivate yourself if you are having a bad day.

Well I am off now to walk the doggies, then back to work for a couple of hours for me.

    Happy Fasting xx

Hello fellow fasters! How are you all today? Today is my second fast day of this week. Been a quieter day at work , so its been a bit harder today. But on track for tomorrow’s weigh in. So far just had water and tea! Looking forward to dinner tonight though (my 500 cals). I will update tomorrow with what the scales say. Jumping in to say hello before I close out the workday — 3pm-ish here. Thank you for the Facebook requests. I believe I’ve confirmed all now.

Kjbee — Inspiring post. I anticipate slow, but permanent progress with my new lifestyle. Please keep checking in.

Char — We can all relate to impulse eating and you know, I think impulse buying as well. I’m trying to be wise about both. It’s amazing how much money we save when we’re not overeating and over-buying. I rather like it this way.

Paradise — How’s your 4:3 fasting going? What do you think about it?

Jeannie – I also stick with a similar menu on fast days. I make sure I like what I get to eat and there’s no temptations for me that way. You are doing so well!

Pam – Thanks for the FB invitation. I’m looking forward to taking a peek into everyone’s world

Hello lion willow — good to hear you are posting here again. It sounds like you know how to do the big trouser dance. Good on ya!

David — Hope your weigh in tomorrow goes how you want it to go. Sending good energy your way

Karen – Your trip sounds terrific. Happy ‘back to reality.’ There’s no place like home.

Ken – So good to learn about the healthy BMI and continued weight loss. You’re taking this seriously. What a beautiful gift for your grandchildren.

G – Nice to hear from someone who is loving the fast beach diet. Keep us informed.

Hello Manda — good results and good job!

Hello rocky & simcoe — hope you are having exceptional weeks

It’s time for me to take off. Great to catch up on the posts. I like the way you are all so supportive of one another. Inspiring for me to read. I’m doing 4:3 again this week and at 350 calories so far today. Although, I just put a hard caramel candy into my mouth. I plan a workout after work and will do liquids tonight. Husband in Central America this week along with his siblings. They are there via Project Hope — who build homes in an impoverished community. They are working hard, right along with new homeowners. That guy is going to come back trim. He had 10 pounds to lose to make his weight goal. Between the heat and work, I’m confident he’s met his goal. He has such a tender heart and willing spirit. An all around good guy. Thanks for putting up with my gooey words about my husband! Take care good people. Keep moving! Jean (or Dee)- I’ll answer to either.

Hey everyone. I rarely get an opportunity to post but I appreciate all the positive energy on these posts. I went for a long walk on Monday and discovered I had walked a hole in my walking shoes. The sides had split and stuffing was coming out!! So I had to get new shoes and start breaking them in. I found that if I don’t do my walks on fasting days I can’t sleep well at night. My energy level just shoots through the roof by nightfall otherwise.
I was tempted to break my fast on Monday but I resisted by going to the thrift store and trying on about 20 different pair of pants until I found a couple that fit me. Nothing like trying on clothes to motivate you. I’m only going to be buying from charity stores until I reach my goal weight. I already have given away the clothes I bought in January at a charity store. I found that I earned another $45.00 from the on-line weight loss program in my state. I am working hard on earning the next level by August where I’ll get a $75.00 reward. Money is a great motivator. And it funds my new clothing. I am known at work as “the incredible shrinking woman”. However, I am so envious of those of you who don’t have to lose so much. I figure I’ll need at least another year or longer to reach goal weight – I need to lose about another 70 pounds. I was seriously obese last August when I started this lifestyle. I’ve lost about 45 pounds so far – with very little drama and deprivation.

Good work everyone – you are doing such wonderful things for yourself.

Debby, Manda, Pam, Andrea, Dee…have a good day!! Will hear from you soon I am sure!!

To the Sunday night team…thanks for posting…perhaps I will be ready in a few more months…for now…I am still getting the hang of things…not much to boast πŸ™‚

Update on my challenge!.I have been noticing a steady loss…but will post weight and celebrate only after official weigh in on Tuesday!…cannot wait! πŸ™‚

Morning guys, happy to report a 2 lb loss from Monday’s post holiday start weight πŸ™‚ So despite me not managing 4:3 this week I’ve lost 3 lbs in total from when I landed last Friday! So pleased with that. Next week I’m going to see how I go, no rush, only got 2 lbs to go till goal, I can hopefully do that fairly easily over the next few weeks.

JeanDee and 3wishes it’s nice to hear from you both. The pair of you seem to be sticking to 5:2 or 4:3 and doing brilliantly, well done.

Charmaine – can’t wait for your results on Tuesday, I have a feeling you’re going to do so well. Hopefully it will spur you on to keep going on your challenge and get you to your goal.

David, get back on the wagon today – I binged yesterday too, must have been the day for it. I still managed to lose and today is another day so onwards and downwards you can do it.

Ken, hope you weren’t too down about the footie, I didn’t watch it but I know we lost (wasn’t expecting us to win tbh). I hope you had that tot of whisky to cheer yourself up.

Manda, it’s nice to see the face behind the name! I’ve had a look at some of your pics and what a pretty wee lassie. My hubbie’s from Dundee so I’m married to a Scot, love the place.

I posted some of my holiday pics if anyone fancies a little peek. It just made me sad when I looked at them though, would be lovely to start the hol all over again.

Well better go, hope everyone has a great day, I’m looking forward to the weekend, only a week after to day to work on my own and hopefully after that not so stressed. πŸ™‚ x

Good morning everyone, Happy friday! πŸ™‚ Thank you all for adding me/speaking with me on facebook yesterday. I weighed in this morning, and I have lost 1.5lbs this week. Total is 9.5lbs over 3 weeks. Would be fibbing if I said I wasnt slightly dissapointed, I went to lots of gym classes this week hoping to see a bigger result, and although I had a wobbly day, Thought I would have lost a bit more.. Maybe just me. Bit scared I am going to plateu too soon! Hope you are all doing well. Onwards and hopefully downwards next week.

Karen – Well done on your amazing loss! thats great! and thanks so much. πŸ™‚ that was a lovely thing to say. πŸ™‚ xx

Ken – Sorry about the footy! Hope you arent feeling to bad! xx

Everybody else I hope you have had another good week, and have a great weekend. πŸ™‚

My hubby and I dont have much planned this weekend. I have a couple of classes, and will be walking my wee puppy! but apart from that pretty quiet I think. Have any of you got any nice plans for the weekend?

Take care everyone. Speak soon. A xx
