    Well done to David, you disappeared from our thread for a few days because you were poorly and now your lbs are disappearing too!

    So my chicken tikka massala went down well and we’re all stuffed, sorry Ken we troughed the lot so I’ll send you some next time! Will have to be careful tomorrow cos going out for a meal so lots of walking methinks!

    Well where do i start, First off WELL DONE KAREN on your loss thats fantastic and yes we are all so very proud of you x

    The Granddaughters have just gone to supermarket with Mummy so I get chance to type a few lines , I tell you I slept like a log last night lol , we have them with us all weekend . yipeeee 🙂

    I didnt loose any weight on Friday , still the same but i am not down at all because I have everyone on this thread to support me (Thank you all ) 🙂

    Going to the park with all the family in about an hour or so , pinic is being made as i type .

    as always there are some fantastic posts on here Well Done David keep going my freind 🙂

    And Charmaine just like the others say dont be hard on yourself its not easy bringing up a young family , I think a few of us have been there lol

    Morning guys, I think we’ve all been quiet this weekend! Hoping you’re having a great time with the grandaughters Ken, I imagine you will need a rest when they go home.

    I had a fairly quiet day yesterday – dog walking,had my hair done, a bit of grocery shopping then sat in the garden because the weather was beautiful. We went out for a meal last night but only put on a lb overnight so happy with that after all I ate. Going to do more walking today and hula hooping and back to 4:3 this week. I might do Mon, Tues and Thurs this week. Are you joining me this week Charmaine? It’s only 2 weeks until my holiday now (good grief where did the time go) and anything more I can lose is a bonus – ideally would like another 2 lbs but probably I’m being optimistic and if I stay at this weight I can live with that. Interestingly I found something online which tells you what body frame size you are. I’ve always thought I was small frame because I’ve got tiny wrists, ankles and really small fingers. They said to measure around your wrist just below the bone and mine was only about 15cm making me small frame. My hubbie is large frame which doesn’t surprise me as he’s got huge hands. Then it said what weight range you should be for your height and frame and mine should be between about 114 and 130. So the BMI calculator they use isn’t really a one size fits all really and we should have one taking our frame size into consideration. Anyway a bit of food for thought!

    Hi faster family, my you’ve all been so quiet over the weekend hope everyone is ok.

    Who’s fasting with me today? I’ve totally overindulged this weekend on both food and wine so back up 2 lbs from friday. Not too worried though because this time last week I was half a lb heavier and managed to shift it probably due to doing 4:3. So I’m fasting today tomorrow and thursday. I wanted to get the back to back out of the way at the beginning of the week then hopefully it’ll be plain sailing from then on in.

    Ken, sounds like you had a great weekend with the grandaughters and I hope you and Liz had an early night to recover! It’s lovely seeing them isn’t it but so tiring, I wonder now how I managed with kids of my own. My son was quite a hyper child (and at the age of 28 he’s still a bit hyper) and I couldn’t wait for him to go to bed so I could have a rest!

    Hope you’re ok charmaine? You’ve been very quiet these last few days, hope you and your daughter are feeling better now. Are you joining me on 4:3 this week?

    It’s been a beautiful weekend here in the UK and hope the weather stays, It means I can get out with Harvey for longer walks which can only be good.

    Hello my family of fasters…yes, really quiet this weekend. I weighed in at 163.8 still close to 2 lbs over.

    yes Karen joining you in 4:3 for sure…Mon, Wed, Friday. I too have two weeks to a short getaway and I want to wear summer-y clothes confidently…so I don’t mind losing some inches and lbs 🙂

    karen agree it depends on our frame totally ! Bmi can be misleading…and you can still be healthy muscular and have high bmi. I plan to be mindful of this and target my waist to height ratio…and will consider my frame size when i try to fit into the norms set 🙂

    Ken…hope you have recovered 🙂 my folks had my my little on on Saturday…and as much as they enjoy it…they are exhausted!! 🙂 good luck on losing some more inches.

    Ok Charmaine we are so going for it this week, we both have holidays to go to in 2 weeks and we want to feel confidant enough to wear our Summery clothes without worrying what we’ll look like. Looks like we both put on about the same amount over the weekend and I know by doing 4:3 last week it’s very possible to get rid of it and a little more so we CAN do this.

    Where are you going on holiday by the way? I’m going to Marrakech in Morocco so I know it will be very hot, we’re going for 10 days and I’m so looking forward to it. I’ve been to Egypt in November and it was around 80 degrees and that’s the start of their winter so I’m guessing Morocco will be much hotter at this time of year.

    I am Fasting today , so i am looking to be drinking lots of water and i will go out for a good walk later on today , after we have re-arranged the house again lol.

    Hi Karen…been good so far….had a small healthy meal for lunch. Will have a steaming cuppa coffee now and then a small meal at around 6:30 or 7:00pm…did 10 minutes of free hand workout. Will do another 10 mins later.

    Going on a roas trip to a place 300 kms from where I live…it is full of coffee estates, greenery and nature. Going to meet friends there who are driving from there place down south. Morroco sounds so exotic! Have fun…yes it will probably be hot/humid…but the chaos, the colour, the culture will make it so worth it 🙂 like India!!

    Ken…sorting the house and a long walk…good way to burn them calories…way to go! 🙂

    Hi again, fasting going well although I never have problem its the non fast days I often overeat on. Had ham salad for lunch and just had an omlette with a bit more salad for tea plus a few strawberries. Will finish off with a low cal hot choc for supper and that’ll be me for the day. Going for a walk shortly and might do some hula hooping.

    I’m really looking forward to Morocco, I love visiting unusual places. Have been to Egypt too and we’re going to Tunisia next year. Also been to a few places in Europe and I love trying new foods and experiencing new cultures. Never been to India though, I imagine a unique place to live and very exotic.Both Ron and I love Indian food so I would probably come back as big as a house if I visited!

    Hi all, had a lovely weekend in the fabulous weather and its made me even more determined than ever to get into lovely summer clothes!! Fasted today, went well. I did by a couple of cakes from the supermarket, put them in the fridge, got them out, put them in, got them out over and over…but I DIDNT EAT THEM!!! Am going to join you peeps doing today, tomorrow and Thursday with weigh in on Friday.

    Well Paradise I’m awake at stupid o’clock in the morning 02.30 am so thought I’d have a look on here. Well done not eating those cakes, proud of you! Looks like we’ve all got the determination to fit into our summer clothes and look better for ourselves. It’s nice to know we’ve got someone else joining us in 4:3 this week, the more the merrier. I’m doing today and thursday too but I think charmaine is going for wednesday and friday. I did mon, wed thursday last week and decided to get the back to back done earlier in the week this week to get it out of the way. I was lucky enough to get down to my lowest weight last friday weigh in which I was really happy about because I started the week with a weight gain so anything is possible! I’ve only got 2 weeks until my holiday now so looking for maybe another lb or 2 if possible.

    It’s just me again at a more sensible time! Pleased to say yesterday’s fast knocked the 2 lb weekend gain off – delighted. Fasting again to day so maybe a little more loss by tomorrow if I’m lucky.

    Hi Karen! Good job! Looks like 4:3 is our thing. Keep at it and you will be so confident in Morroco! 🙂 I am 163 now…lost a wee bit since yesterday. I think just about a pound. I have also started a HIIT 20 minute workout…I have been warned I will retain water every time I start a new workout while the body adjusts. I have also been told that this workout helps with inch loss and not ao much the weight. I am happy with inch loss too! I have post poned wearing that dress until 7 June when we have a family wedding…so that is my new goal.

    ken…i know how frustrating that can be…but we can imagine how moivating you would have been about Karens loss…:-)

    CHARMAINE I WOIULD GO MENTAL ON DAILY WEIGH INS, just focusing on the long term is enough- to avoid the permanence of everyday distractions

    charmaine if its any consolation you are the (at the top range of)target weight I have to reach using a BMI calculator of 24.9. have you tried using BMI AS A calculator?

    Hi there! Fast day for me today. Didn’t do very well these past 4 days, not too bad either, but definitely not on the right truck. I felt too tired of fasting so had some brilliant ideas about following a low cal diet/juice fasting/500cals fasting, all failed. I am back on the familiar and comfortable plan of water fasting for 2 or 3 days a week. Good thing is I walked a lot during those days so I hope the damage isn’t massive. I haven’t gone on the scales though, I will do that on Friday as usual, although I am thinking of tossing the scales, since it all started because I went on the scales last Friday and saw no loss (saw even a gain of 200 grams). It could be the walking…

    I haven’t had time to read through all your posts from the past few days, I will tonight, cause I am going to bed very very early!

    Hahahaha david.. i know…i know…but thats my way of keeping a check on myself….else I lose track.amd overeat thinking it wont hurt me 😉 i am only 5 feet tall…so what your target is…is my obsese range. I have a bmi of 30.5 or something. Just over…another 10lbs and I will be overweight as per BMI standards… 🙂

    Hi all. Hope everyone well. Glad your fast went well yesterday Nina, I know what you mean by feeling sleepy on a fast day, I usually can’t make it past 10pm!

    Well after my binge on chocolate and other rubbish yesterday I seem to have lost half a llb – what the heck is that about! Not complaining though but I’m wondering if it’s dehydration because I had wine last night too. The thing is I remember when I lost weight a few years ago and after beating a small plateau I just seemed to lose it fairly easily for some reason. Just going to try to stay good today and plenty of walking and some hula hooping and back to fasting tomorrow.

    Are you on your second fast today Charmaine? If so let us know how you do, it’s your first 4:3 this week isn’t it. Good for you starting the HiiT workout, they are supposed to be really good at toning you up then when you build muscle it burns more calories too. I’m sure if you focus on your fasting and working out you’ll fit that dress soon.

    I’m taking my tablet away on holiday to keep in touch with my daughter and also to check up on how everyone’s doing. I’m certainly not fasting whilst I’m away (we’re going all inclusive so food/drink is available just about 24/7)but I just know I’ll put on a few lbs so will be back on the wagon when I come back. I like feeling and looking slimmer (and so does hubby)and after working hard to lose this weight I don’t want to go back up to what I was.

    Well a sunny day up here in the North East of England but apparently it’s going to rain for days from tomorrow right through the Bank Holiday so I’m going to make the most of it while I can today.

    Hi Karen….logged in at 162. Back to weight I was before I fell ill. Good thing. I have to weigh and log in everyday. That is my only way of staying focused…else I get thrown off track easily. Thank god you join me in that.

    HIIT kept me awake last night. My body ached in places I had no idea had muscles :-))) felt so great…woke up and did another 25 mins.

    Nina…no probs..we are here to motivate each other 🙂 Ken…hope you managed to sleep well!!

    karen always remember to MOVE ON QUICKLY AND GET ON TRACK AGAIN if you have been binging-

    with ww I THINK coz of nutrient deficiencies particulalry those key ones arising from oily foods i had a real problem with the binging.

    my fast day has not started well though. catching a REALLY EARLY TRAIN put on the comfort food collision course… so muffin succumbed to my temptations along with (biscuits) at a coffee morning I went to….but this isnt a regular thing and now I back on track witha lunch of veg & fruit.
    i cant weigh in fo 3 weeks this time and hopefully on my own will be able to calorie count (more) seriously

    charmaine my BMI has reached 28.7 apparently my BMI should be (at the most) 25.9! shock horror I thought and of course the likes of simonecluv on this site say how important it is to check your TDEE regularly with weight loss! when ever your routine changes Hey HO! I trying my best to focus and stay on track- so tomoz instead of today I will calorie count as a fasting day

    Hi David, sounds like you’ve had a bit of a binge day yourself today. Same as me yesterday, someone brought chocolate into work, I had a bit and that was it! Been not too bad today and we’re going out for a meal tonight but done over an hours walking and might hula hoop a little bit too. Back to fasting tomorrow and focus on the task in hand

    Hello everyone…hope you are all doing well a s feeling positively healthy! I am at the same weight. My HIIT has been a huge help to me. Starting to feel more fit and cheerful. My fasting is going on well. I have realized that I have modifed it a lot to suit my lifestyle as I want to stay on it long term. Hope to hear your updates. Do well!

    I put on 2 lbs yesterday. Probably the excess of the day before catching up then we went out for a meal last night. Not worrying about it too much though and fasting today. Will definitely go for 4:3 next week for that final push before I go away. I went to get some new shorts yesterday for my holiday and got into a size 10! Couldn’t quite believe it because they would never have fitted 3 months ago so I’m feeling happy with that.

    It’s pouring with rain today 🙁 so probably won’t go far with Harvey tonight because we both hate the rain!

    Hello Karen…good that you are not worried about rhr 2lbs up. I was 162 on 12 may…went up and down and back to 162 yesterday…but in the mean time I have lost 6 inches all over….so you fitting into size 10 is exactly that…you are losing inches! And that counts a lot too! More important even…as you are gaining muscle, losing fat. Good luck and I will join you on 4:3 next week too.

    Hi! Well done to all of you for your success and, Karen, size 10!!! Why would you want to lose any more pounds? I thought that next size (8) is super thin.

    Yesterday went well, somewhere around (and below) my TDEE. Today it’s fast day again. It’s going ok so far (haven’t eaten anything, have drunk plenty of water but no walking cause it’s raining a lot) but I think there is something wrong with me these days. I feel tired of fasting. It might be that I will be on holiday from Sunday till Wednesday and I know that I won’t be fasting there, plus, on the day we come back, guests will arrive for 5 days, so I know I won’t be fasting until the 2nd of June!!! This is probably putting me off, don’t know if that makes sense to anyone. However, I will go for 1200 cals on those days, or on the days that we will be home but will have guests. Definitely won’t see any loss until the 2nd of June, maybe I should focus on seeing no gain!!!

    Weigh in day tomorrow (as for many of you, davidrob:), I will post my progress, although I don’t expect much. But if I am 66 kilos, I will be very happy!

    Hi Nina as for being a size 10, I’m really happy with that and certainly don’t want to be an 8 but as a very small framed person of only 5ft 4.5 I look better at a 10 rather than the 12 I was before I started this. I don’t look thin either,just slim! I’ve looked up a BMI calculator for small, medium and large frame and I shouldn’t be any heavier than about 130 lbs which is just over 9 st so I’m actually at the high end of healthy weight for my frame so I intend to keep going until I get to just under 9 st then I’ll be happy. I’ve also got a holiday coming up and I’ll not be fasting then so will definitely put on some of the weight I’ve lost so I’ll be getting straight back on the wagon when I come back home. I suppose it’s about how you feel yourself really.

    Anyway fasted today and hope to lose a lb of the 2 lb I put on yesterday but not stressing out if I don’t because I’ve still got next week to go for it!

    Where are you today Ken, everything ok? Not a peep out of you so hope you’re ok.

    Checking in for the first time this week — missed reading your inspiring, and sometimes humorous messages. Let’s talk about me. (smile) I’ve had a busy week at home and at work, but I’m being mindful of my health and workouts. Did a 4:3 this week. Not bad. I went ahead and worked out while fasting, including HITs on elliptical and cycle — and I’m amazed. Seems like I work out more intensely during fast days. Who knew? The HITs are working, Charmaine. I can always tell how intense my workouts are because of how damp my hair is. I’m a simple creature.

    Karen – I’m happy for you that you are at a manageable weight and size. I imagine if you gain a few pounds, you won’t panic because you are at a place in your health where you manage it. Good for you. I’ll be there before the end of the year!

    Nina – Trusting you’ll have favorable results at your weigh in tomorrow.

    David – Men have lower BMI rates than women. Sorry about that!

    Ken, Simco, Lorlin and JIP – hope all is well with both of you. Let us hear from you. I’ve missed some names, but I’ll catch you next time. Typing quickly.

    Checking out of work and driving to the gym, then off to meet a friend who will be moving 400 miles southeast in June. Happy for her, but I will miss our laughing moments. (Laughing burns calories!) She’s retiring to a warm, sunny climate.

    Hi jeandee, sounds like you’ve had a very busy week working out, well done! I’m sure you’ll soon be where you want to be with your weight. You’re right if I pit a lb back on at tomorrows weigh in I’m not going to let it worry me. Weirdly I’ve been lighter than I am now and still in the same size clothes so I’m guessing I’ve lost more inches doing 5:2. I’m happy how I look at the moment and that the most important thing , not the numbers on the scale.
    Your friend has the right idea retiring to sunny climes – me and hubby have considered doing something similar because British winters are long, cold and wet normally. Spain or Portugal would be
    lovely!

    Weigh in was same as last week, pleased with that because I’ve actually been quite naughty this week and fully expected to put on. Still haven’t bought new work trousers because I’ve been buying holiday clothes so will have to do that when I come home (assuming I haven’t put it all back on again that is).

    I’ve only got today at work then off until next Thursday so just 3 days in at work (not that I’m counting lol)!

    How did you do this morning Charmaine? I’m rooting for you to lose this week. Bit worried about Ken – not been posting since 20th May on here, hope he’s ok.

    Hi Karen, I completely missed logging in… 🙂 I am at the same weight. But I feel fit since starting my workout. I will be reallly happy if I lose a kilo this week..ie 2.2 lbs…but it is Friday already…so…we will see 🙂 thanks for rooting for me…it really helps…!!

    We need to follow up with Ken…hope he is doing ok..

    Jean…HIIT are really good and with every day it gets easier…shows how much it helps with endurance. Good luck with 4:3 🙂

    Ok I weigh in each Friday as you all know and this week it really has helped having Annabelle (3) and Alice (2) my 2 Granddaughters over the weekend , they gave me a good workout Ha Ha I have lost 2 lb and another 1/2 inch from my waist . I am very happy with that
    I am now at 12 st 9 lb , waist is 39″ my BMI is down to 26.9 so i am very pleased overall ,

    A big big thank you goes to all of you fantastic people on this thread for giving me all the support and encouragment I could ask for ,
    I am not at my target yet so I will continue with my 5:2 for the considerable future,

    Hi boys and girls!

    Well, my weigh in went out the window this morning, cause I was up really early and had to get ready to go to work, so since only my husband knows where the scales is and he was asleep…. no weighing! My walking also went out the window (I was working only morning, I could go walking right now) cause it is raining since morning (since yesterday, to be fair). Sometimes I do ignore the rain, but usually on days when it stops and starts, today it’s not one of those days. What do the rest of you that live in the UK do with this? I suspect you would go for a walk anyway, right?

    I have been very reluctant to fast lately, that’s why I -once more – achieved only one fasting day this week, and I am almost sure it’s the holiday thing that is putting me off. So, I thought, instead of trying to fast every day and failing (and giving myself excuses to overeat) I should just take a few steps back and go into maintenance mode until we are back from holidays and our guests have left. If I focus on not gaining any pounds, it will be easier, won’t it? In general, I so want to be cool this time and not get overexcited and ruin everything in the end. I don’t think I have ever taken weight loss so seriously before: I am calm, I forgive myself, I focus a lot on health (never done that before, I even bought a juicer and I drink a vegetable drink almost every day!), I mean to take it slow and enjoy it.

    I have great plans for after the 2nd of June (that’s when holidays and guests are gone). It will be 6 weeks till my summer holiday and I really need to lose 4 pounds (it will then be 10 more pounds for my target weight, but this can wait till after the summer), which won’t be easy at all! I think my weigh will plateau for a while, but I don’t mind that much, the longer I keep it like that the harder it will be to go over it (if that makes any sense, which I doubt:).

    Hi, la_dolce_vita_222, Jean and everyone, I am on here, honest, I do use the LOACA and JOJO threads too, so sorry if I missed I will read back thanks for missing me.
    I am on track lost 1 lb this week and I have had my trampoline from the garage and I used it 10 mins yesterday and today I have done 4600 steps on it while watching the 1pm news. I have had a small walk and got to 11,409 steps up until 4.30pm, I did put in a bit of effort because it started raining. Perhaps a good thing this rain. LOl, I am also on a fasting day. I have had melon and 2 coffees, I cannot make up my mind to stick to liquids only for the rest of the day or to have 2 boiled eggs? Happy fasting. JIP

    Nina, I have to walk, I’ve got a dog so got no excuses not to go in rain, snow or whatever else the English weather throws at us! Also if you ate not ‘in the zone’ for fasting you will only do it halfheartedly and achieve nothing so just focus on not overeating on non fast days.
    Hip I see you post on the loaca thread a fair bit, I too have posted on it too the odd time but feel this is my home! You’re doing well too with all that trampelining. I’m hoping I can go for some long walks these next few days but rain might stoplay a bit because my dog isn’t keen on long walks in the rain!
    Charmaine did you mean you forgot to weigh in this morning or are you fasting today and leaving weigh in until tomorrow?

    Well talking of walks I’d better get the waterproofs on and take Harvey for his.
