  • Good Morning!

Salma, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Relationships are so vital to our existence, but it is so hard when we lose someone special. Remember the good times.

Sherry!! Good to “see” you again! You are a traveling girl! Ah Hawaii…how I love it. Enjoy!

I had a VERY hungry day yesterday. I have to figure out a more hearty lunch as my protein shake was just not enough yesterday. I finally got things under control with some coconut oil in hot tea and then a spoon of natural Peanut butter.

I’ve decided to weigh in for my New Year’s restart tomorrow instead of on the 1st. Tomorrow night we’ll be either going out to eat or ordering in and I don’t want that bloat showing up on the scale for my weigh in! Silly, I know….oh the games we play.

Debbie…congrats on your first day! I think you will find that skipping breakfast and extending your overnight fast will be good for you. I really believe that forcing your body to burn stored fat by holding off on eating is a good thing.

I think I’m really trying to combine too many plans. I do the “eating window”, plus I’m trying to stay VERY low carb and now I’m thinking about adding in 2 500 calorie days. I’m driving myself crazy! Not really, but I may ease up on the carb restriction a bit. I still won’t eat “junk” carbs and added sugar, but may allow some others a few times a week. I need to pick a plan and stick to it for a few weeks to see if it works for me. I’m so impatient!!

I have been rambling….take care my friends and have a wonderful day!

    Hello friends..

Thank you all for your knd words of condolence.

Sherry.. I have a nice New Year’s eve planned.. I normally stay at home and fo out with family or friends i.on ,New Year’s day, but his year I am going away for the day. The bus will pick everyone up at 9 and we will drive to wine country which is about 2 hours away in the Beka valley. The day will be spent hikng and visiting wineries n the region. The evening will be spent in a hotel where my group is staying overnight; e are promised very good food and excellent wines and music. So, it promises to be a fun evening.

On New Year’s day, a lie in and liesurly breakfast then return home via some beautiful scenery. It will be cold but I am well prepard. In fact, I am sitting at the hairdresser’s right now getting my colour and blow dry ito welcome the new year in style. Nails have been manicured, toe nails pedicured and I am ready to take the world by storm. Weighed myself this morning (BIG mistake).. Up to 88 kg ( from a low of 82,6). Sigh!! So Milena, I have gained over 5 kgs in the past 2 months. How true it is that it takes AGES to lose lbs and only the glimpse of an eye to put it all back on. However, I shall not be defeated.. Jan 2 is only a couple of days away.. How much more damage can I possibly do in the interil? (Ok.. Don’t answer that!!!)…

So my lovelies.. Have a superb end to this year and a magnificent start to the new one.. Surrounded by loved ones . I am sending all of you warm wishes for health, wealth, happiness and a kinder set of scales.

I also wish both Cinque and Makica huge success in their new ventures. Both would improve our healh and well being: Gut bacteria and healthy food.. Great synergy!

    Salma

    Salma

Nothing new to report but just wanted to say thanks so much for all the encouragement and the links! I obviously didn’t read the website well enough!

You all seem to live such hectic, fun filled lives you put me to shame! I live in Brighton on the south coast of England. It’s been mostly dull and rainy and windy here. Not encouraging me to go out and walk to burn off my calories so I’ve dug out my old exercise bike that is usually used for hanging the laundry and joined a Charleston dance class.

I’m off to a party tomorrow night and plan for my next fast day on 2nd. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all!

Can I just ask how often you recommend weighing yourselves? I don’t want to overdo it!

Salma, your New Years Eve into New Year’s Day plans sound awesome! How fun & relaxing! Try not to be too down about the weight gain. At least you are better off now than you were this time last year, right? And we will all surely buckle down and get serious on Jan. 2! Just knowing that we’re all in this together really helps!

Lori, yes the last week and a half has been crazy and tiring but fun. I think that’s why I’m feeling a bit under the weather now! Too much go go go and not enough down time- now that I have a little down time, my body is collapsing! It is funny how many different tweaks you’re making to your eating plan, but whatever works I say!

Debbie, as far as weighing goes, I’m not consistent! When I feel I’m doing well, I want to weigh more often… When I’m not doing as well, I tend to avoid the scales 😖! I say in general once a week is good. Don’t know if that helps?!

Ok, off to the Honolulu Zoo with the kids. Poor things- since I haven’t been feeling too well we haven’t done much yet- all morning they’ve been watching TV and the Roomba robot clean the floor- it’s surprisingly entertaining 😆!

    Love to all!

    Sherry

    Hi Everyone!

It is a hot day in Melbourne to finish the year. Lets hope that bushfire doesn’t gather speed.

Debbie, my contribution to the hectic fun filled lives on this thread was to nick up the street, before it got too hot, for milk and catfood! 😉

I do have that Community Food Cafe venture mentioned, but I have absolutely no oomph at the moment (chronic illness). Luckily it is the time of year to take a break, so I am. Hopefully I can get back into gear by the end of January. Everything starts again after Australia Day.

Lovely to read all of your goings on. It is clear that the Christmas festiveness doesn’t fit easily with 5:2 fasting. (Except for me! Here is a benefit of a boring life!) It will be nice to see everyone finish up the left overs, take down the decorations, and then get back into the lovely habit of 5:2.

Lori I bet you are so hungry because your brain is craving carbohydrates. Didn’t they teach you that in your nutrition course? It will be craving the best, complex, low GI, carbohydrates, so I hope you can give it some!

It is a fast day for me. I have a chicken tenderloin, maybe two, to have in my miso soup with some greens and a mushroom, and then some lovely fava bean soup for dinner.

Oh dear, I am having a coffee free day as I have forgotten to have one so far, and it is nearly midday. Just realised.:( The caffeine works extra well when I fast, but that makes for a sleepless night. I may have a caffeine withdrawal headache all afternoon, but hopefully I will sleep!
Well, caffeine free days are very good for me. Maybe I can have them more often.

Long post! But I have a cat story (I’m not that boring then, am I 🙂 )Miso the cat didn’t come in last night naughty girl. Woke up the flats with a fight at 4 am. I think she must have been winning, because while I managed to get her in side she cried until sunrise, when I let her out again. PLUS she vomited in the fruit bowl! Over the tomato and avocado! Gross! I wasn’t the least bit sorry for her (vomiting up fur among the half digested food: hairball control formula, ofcourse!) What a delight to clean up after her.
    Not.

On that delightful note I will finish! Best wishes all!

PS Debbie, I don’t weigh myself regularly at all: when I had scales I found myself compulsively on them all the time, and they aren’t much use. Threw them away and jump on my daughters dodgy ones when I visit her, if I remember. Gauge how I am going by my clothes, and sometimes measuring my waist.

    Hi all

wishing y’all a Happy New Year, cos Ill be in bed at 7 and hopefully fast asleep for the bells. Always hated New Year, remember being young, being given ginger cordial – ugh, and old men (really old -some of the were over 30!!!!!) giving slobbery kisses at midnight. The Scots think they do hogmany better than anyone, but Geordies win hands down. Will miss the fireworks in Edinburgh but only watch from outside of the city anyway.

Just watched over 20 hours of the Hobbit and LOTR, still in love with Viggo – and Karl Urban (Urbane?), and Sean Bean

And I AM DONE!!!!! Had a last mouthful of lasagne, it was bloody good, the veggie eaters last night both had seconds of the roast veg lasagne, and took the rest home! Finished off the sausages at lunch, just had one. Made a lovely spagetti with sun dried tomatoes, olives, garlic, shallot, sultanas and pine nuts – I was a tad heavy on tbe olive oil but great if you want to have olive oil in your diet. Just a small portion.Lovely.

With a nice Chablis. Think there are still a couple of bottle of good white and a couple of bottle of good red, but will leave them for valentines day. So looking forward to 5:2 – my gain is the same as yours Salma, hope it was a much fun. Hope, like Makica, it is mainy water.

Must say I almost wet myself laughing when I read that, Makica, do you might be right. I just love your positve attitude!!!!

Little sister, one day we will get together and cook up a storm! Might even cook food!

Cinque, love your story of Miso, brought back memories. OH used to insist on leaving chuck up, cos generally tbey just ate it again, his prespertyrian (sp?) upbringing coming to the fore yet again, never waste good food. I used to gag cleaning it, but would gag much more listening to them re-eating! And Ive been known to throw up myself after standing in the stuff, in bare feet. And often mistaking slimy furballs for dead mice!!! Oh joy!!!

Bet you are all green around the gills now!!!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday at fairs, so will have to think how to eat healthily and miss the cafe stodge. Storm Frank has passed, noisy bugger that he was.

Then, the following Friday, off to Copenhagen – again! – and will have to find a way around the danish pastries, smogersbord and Hotel Chocolat. If I succeed it will be a first!!!!

Keep warm everyone, keep cool Cinque and I hope it gets warmer Sherry!!!

    Travel hopefully ……

And if course Aiden Turner!!!!! Watching and then there were non tomorrow afternoon, heard he was topless again.

    Simple things……….

Of course Aiden Turner Milena! (He made a lovely vampire!)

If only Miso the cat would eat her own vomit. She doesn’t though, (I know because I found one dried out and old under the couch one. Too much information!!!!!) and since they have hair in them they would probably just make her throw up again.

Just came back to say to Lori that comment about nutrition course sounds so rude. It was meant to be light and friendly. Apologies!

Fast day is going well. The day is very hot, but tomorrow will be better. Miso soup was great and I am just holding off for spiced fava bean soup as long as I can.

See you in the New Year!

    Good Morning!

No worries Cinque…I’m not easily offended. You are right, my nutrition course does recommend most of the calories in ones diet to come from carbs, I just don’t happen to subscribe to that theory. I have been cutting rather hard and will adjust based on how I feel. Just to avoid the “junk” carbs…that is the key!

Official weigh in shows me down 1 pound since November 20. What I see in the mirror and what the number on the scale says do not agree at all. My eyes tell me that I should weigh less. Guess I’m seeing what I want to see? Oh well…I have my re-start number now and can proceed.

I started my nutrition course final yesterday. WOW! I spent 2 hours and only answered 85 of the 240 questions. It is quite tough. It is remembering all those enzymes etc and what part they play in digestion that has been the worst so far. I’m not sure I’ll pass the test to be honest. I have to score 85% or better to pass, so we’ll see. I’m quite sure I won’t finish it today, as I do have some actual work to do! 😉 It’s ok as I wanted my certificate to be dated 2016…if I pass, that is!

Our office closes at 3 today, and I’ll run out and get us some shrimp and some chicken wings for the husband. I cannot eat a wing and it grosses me out to even prepare them for him. I am a chicken snob. Boneless, skinless chicken breast is the only thing I’ll eat. I do love chicken liver though……how weird am I?

Such interesting cat vomit stories this morning. LOL! Luckily, my cat very seldom has that issue, but through the years, I’ve “encountered” it with my various cats. Oh the joys of pet ownership!

Well, time to get my day going. I will pop in this evening and check on you all. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

    Happy New Year everybody!!! <3

I have a very good feeling about 2016. Like the dark clouds have cleared and blue sky is showing. In meditation there is always a blue sky above the clouds.

I hope all of you have a great time. I will be in front of my fireplace with my hubby, some very fine wine and champagne. He didn’t want to give away what we have for dinner but I think some fine cheese and smoked salmon… fuagra.. and other goodies.

And yes the business is with microbiota – a pill that will revolutionize the way we treat our bodies in so many ways. So happy I sent them to good schools. LOL it will bring back the balance of your intestine, back to healthy, back to slim.

    See ya all soon,

    Love m

    Makica

2016 will be marvelous for us all, especially for you!!!! I feel it in my old bones!

    x

    Happy new year everyone! 🎇🎉🎉🎆🎉🎉🎇

Milena I hope your fairs went/go well.

Lori, good luck with the rest of the questions. They do sound daunting, but I bet you can do it! 😎

It is the end of the day here and it has been an excellent pottering around day. I have got so many little things done, and my home is feeling so organised. I made a good loaf of bread in my new stove and I made yoghurt and ricotta with a bottle of milk at its use by date.
All just slowly with lots of rest between. I hope it is a symbol of how the whole year will be.

    🐣

    Happy New Year!!!

I had quite a day yesterday. I ended up fasting until nearly 2 o’clock! I was working on my final exam and just couldn’t get stopped. I still have about 15 questions to do next week.

I made up for the fast later in the day with shrimp, pizza, a cookie and then an ice cream treat! OY! I’m counting it as my refeed day of the week. I’m hoping I can stick to a reasonable eating window today and stay away from the treats!

A nice, leisurely day off work today and no plans for the weekend either. I’m so looking forward to getting back to my boot camp routine on Monday morning. After all these days off, I’m quite sure I’ll have some very sore muscles. Prepare yourselves for lots of whining and complaining from me! 😉

Wishing you all a happy & healthy 2016!

    (((Hugs)))

Thanks Milena, I can see you can see. Wink wink 😉

Hope everybody is sticking to their NY resolutions. Although ….nobody likes a cheap, skin sober bitch anyway so I will rethink mine. LOL

    Have to go,

    Love ya all

    m

Good afternoon ladies! Sitting here at the beach under semi cloudy skies watching the kids snorkel & make sand castles. Hubby is sitting next to me researching stand up paddle boards, as we want to get a his (larger) and hers (smaller) ones for 2016! Our condo out here is right across the street from a lovely beach with a coral protected bay that’s calm & perfect for paddling. Have any of you ever tried stand up paddle boarding? It’s a great core workout- good for my bad back!

Had a nice New Years Eve- went out for pizza & frozen yogurt and then sat on the beach and watched the fireworks go off at midnight. The kids were dead tired on the walk back home!

Spent a good part of the morning dealing with the furniture co. that we purchased a couch from last summer and it was just finally delivered (out here it takes at least 3 mo’s to get furniture from the mainland shipped over (ahhh… Life on the rock!) & to make things worse, the idiot sales guy forgot to place our order initially, making it even longer😖!). The sales guy ended up ordered the wrong piece for the sectional and there’s feathers that poke through & stab you whenever you sit on it ( we didn’t order feather/down filled- we thought we were getting foam!). Anyhow, after waiting soooo long, we told them to just come pick up the awful thing & refund our $ which because of all the screw ups they thankfully agreed!

Yay Makica! I’m really hoping your smart family can cure me of my fat!😊 I’m wondering what percentage of those of us that are chubby have the bad gut bacteria & can be helped by that?

Cinque, can you please come live with me for a while a organize my home & cook me wonderful food ? 😉

I’m having a tough time getting back on the clean eating wagon! Too many eating out opportunities & junk food laying around. I know tomorrow is the official start to “being good” but I’d hoped I’d get a jump on it today.

Lori, best of luck passing your test! What exactly did you say you wanted to do with your certificate when you retire? Btw, I try too stick to no more than 15-20 carbs per meal & try to make lunch very low carb- a salad w/protein usually.

    Talk to you all later!

Hi Sherry, what a wonderful part of the world to be at. It started snowing yesterday here. Furniture or no furniture. Just soak up the beauty of the place. I remember not seeing so many kinds of lovely flowers as in Hawaii. I was there a very long time ago but that hasn’t changed I bet.

The deep probiotic (still does not have a name because the marketing people are working on it) should repopulate everybody’s gut and then regulate the absorption of the nutrients into your body. If you don’t overeat, above your TDEE, and if you eat just sensibly, it will help. But then if you destroy it with junk food and medication like antibiotics you will have to take another one.

I woke up with HBP and have a vastly headache. No more food and alcohol! Or did I already say that??

Jeeeez I need that pill. We are giving it to out test subjects in mid February when the donors finalise their incubation test. Then it will all be sent to the UK to a neutral world renowned laboratory for verification of the results(sequencing of the individual micro biota). There will be a control group too. Sad for them but then at the end of the trial period they will get the real thing. Maybe placebo kicks in and they also lose weight and have their body back to optimum. That will be interesting to see.

Will send a pill to all of you the moment we go “live” in little containers with dry ice – if regulations permit. One pill should be enough for at least 6 months.

But that does not mean we should stop fasting. On the contrary. We should help our bodies regenerate by 5:2.

    Love ya all,
    Marijana

    Dear ladies,

Very sincere wishes for wonderful, happy, successful and svelte versions of ourselves in 2016.

New Year’s eve was a blast. On the downside (or was that the upside), it was held in a famous Lebanese vineyard chateau (Chateau Kefraya) with free flowing wine all evening. I woke up on New Year’s day with a bit of a hangover. There was a snow storm overnight in the area which is the wine/grape-growing region of Lebanon and is in the Bekaa valley which gets quite cold in winter. The trip to the valley is through the mountains and the roads back home were snowed in and so we had to take the (very) long way back which took 3 times longer than it should have. The scenery was wonderful though which counter-balanced the uncomfortable bus ride back (We had to take small buses rather than the big Pullman bus as it was less dangerous apparently – don’t ask me why as I had a hangover and was not in the logical argumentative frame of mind!).

Today, I get MY couch delivered Sherry.. it was supposed to be delivered before New Year’s but…. Anyway.. I hope it is the colour/shape/filling I ordered, but you never know.

Early this morning, I got a phone call from my dad saying my mother is sick and I had to rush around and find a doctor, etc. A good friend is also quite sick.. Are these omens for this year? I surely hope not. I hate it when a year starts badly. Still.. I keep talking to myself about “re-framing”. On the New Year’s trip to the Bekaa, one of the people in the group is a recently retired university professor, and he was telling me about yoga and trips to India… Maybe, Makica, this will be my adventure this year? I can’t quite see myself being the yogi the, but perhaps it would help to put things in perspective? Some exercising for the body and soul?

As for resolutions, the day is going okay (so far). I am not planning to fast today and will leave it to Monday (which is the official date of the start of my new job.. where did the time go?). I sincerely hope to be able to shift some of the weight that has accumulated int eh past couple of months. I feel quite bloated and annoyed at myself for having wasted all that good work.

Good luck to all of us in getting back (and keeping) our bodies into ship shape this year.
    Salma

Good to hear from all of you in the new year!

I had a good, low key start to my year. We had the traditional pork & sauerkraut meal that is supposed to be good luck to begin the year. It was delicious. I’m going to make another roaster full of it today(after a trip to the market) so the husband can take some to his elderly cousin who lives just a mile from us. She finds it hard to go out, so we take her meals quite often and the husband gets her groceries each week.

The cold weather is here and I’m not enjoying it one bit. I was perfectly happy with unseasonably warm temperatures! Sherry….I’m not a bit jealous that you’re in Hawaii……no, not one bit! 😉

I had a good low carb day yesterday and will probably have another one today as I have my eating sort of planned out. I’m not going to be strict low carb, but it does help me with the mindless snacking etc. I’m going to have a couple days each week of low calories…probably 600-800. Also a couple “re-feeding” days when I’ll eat a bit more of both calories and carbs. Have to keep the body guessing, you know! Not sure how this plan will reflect on the scale, but we’ll see.

Enough of my rambling for this morning. Hope you all enjoy your day.

Makica, I’m sooo excited for your probiotic! Thank you for the offer to send us all some when available! I can’t wait to give it a try! Again, wishing you all the success possible on this venture!😊 And yes, there’s lots of pretty flowers here in Hawaii but not so much in the big city of Honoluku where I am… You have to get out on the country/jungle/rainier side of this island to see them. The island of Kauai, known as the “garden island ” is the most well known for beautiful foliage. What island did you visit when you were here?

Salma, so glad your New Years trip went well (other than the snowy roads!). It sounded fun! Now we are all back to the plan of eating better & less!

Lori, I never heard of that good luck New Years meal? I’ve heard of black eyed peas in the South being eaten in the new year for good luck. Is yours a Gernan custom? Either way it sounds good! How nice that you’re cooking some for your hubby’s cousin and that you guys help her out! Don’t be jealous Lori! Just come out for a visit!

We’re heading over to another furniture place on the west side of the island (wish us luck finding that couch!)& then to lunch & the beach. Aloha !🌴☀️🏄🏽

    Good morning everyone,
It is a warm grey day with the possibility of rain ( hope so!) and another day of pottering around.
Laughed when I saw your invitation for me to organise your house Sherry, I’d be a puddle on the floor! 🙀
I’m only managing my tiny flat, with only me in it, moving in slow motion over several weeks!

Makica good luck with the business, I had no idea the research was anywhere near so advanced. Very exciting. Keep snug in the snow!

Lori, hmm, pizza, cookie and ice cream. 🍕🍪🍨 No wonder you think carbs are bad for you! What a scallywag you are. Well the important thing is that you enjoyed them, and then enjoyed your pork and sauerkraut ( that cousin is a lucky one!) and good strict low carb days following.

Sherry good luck finding your way to eating the way you want to. There needs to be a nice ritual step to make the transition. Idiot sales guy would have made everything harder. And even with the lovely beach weather, things must still be pretty hectic.
I wish I could make you some food.
I’ve never tried stand up paddle boarding, but it sounds great fun! World’s best way to strengthen your back!
    Did you find your couch?

Salma woot for your wonderful start to the new year. May you remember the wine and celebrations, and forget the slow trip home.
Did the couch arrive? Is it lovely and comfy?
I hope your mum is feeling better, and your friend too.
You will love getting back into 5:2 and losing the bloat! 😖

Fast day for me. It is my lovely hermitty meditative Sunday fast. I might turn into a Buddha if this keeps going! I’m going to water the garden in case it doesn’t rain and then I might just start writing lists of all the things I need to do. And I won’t let them overwhelm me! Might even sneak in a few yoga stretches. We’ll see.

Good wishes to you all. 💐

    Good Morning!

Sunny, but cold day today. We are to have very cold temperatures the next few nights, so trying to come to grips with that. It will be VERY cold when I set out for boot camp the next 2-3 days.

I have my 2nd load of laundry spinning and it’s only 8:30AM! We were up very early as we went to bed around 9 last night. It’s a good thing we are both morning people! We are going to go out and do a little shopping in a couple hours. We need a new microwave as ours is nearly 30 years old! It still works, but it is only a matter of time before it conks out. I need a small, counter top model and they are sometimes hard to find. I have limited space and must measure to be sure it will fit. After shopping, we’re going out for a nice lunch and then home to watch football the rest of the day. I’m going to make ham & string beans for dinner tonight, so that will be nice and low calorie for me.

I’m determined to fast until lunch today and am beginning 5:2 tomorrow. I will 500 calorie fast on Mondays and Thursdays and use the window method the other days, but not count calories. Sugar/carbs will also be kept fairly low, as I think that is important for health. I know you all must be sick of all my plans….I’m on a plan for a day or 2 and then off on something else. Please forgive me for that and I will try to be more consistent. I don’t want to put you all off!

I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend and are ready for the first week of the new year. Let’s make it a good one!

What a lovely day plan Lori. Did you find the perfect microwave?
What about the couches Sherry and Salma.

It is early morning here. Young people next door were partying loudly til after 3 am. Right out my bedroom window. I hear they are moving out in a couple of weeks, fingers crossed nice people move in.
Miso keeps trying to climb on my iPad, it is cool enough for her to feel snuggly.

I had a lovely fast day yesterday, and the fridge and freezer are so full of food I will hardly need to cook for a week.

    💐

Yes, new microwave purchased and in place. I have lost some precious counter space, but will have to adjust.

Nice lunch out with DH. Dinner simmering on the stove now.

I’m ready to resume a normal routine. The holidays are lovely, but I’m ready for real life. Boot camp and work, that is my life! 😉

    Hugs to all!

    Hello dear ladies,

Cinque, the couch arrived and it does look nice but is not terribly comfortable. They have made the seating very hard, but to be honest, I am so tired of running after people, carpenter, couch people, electrician, etc, that I am past caring. Maybe in a year, I will chuck it out and get a really good quality one. I always say, cheap is expensive.. and I have now proven my point!

I did not fast yet, but have been a bit more careful with what I eat. I will start tomorrow with exactly Lori’s plan. I had exactly her plan in mind and when I read it, I had to smile. So, tomorrow is a fast day for me. It is also my FIRST DAY at my new job. What with my mom getting sick and so many things going on, I feel unprepared. However, I will take a deep breath and ‘jump’ in.. let’s hope it all goes well.
Wish me luck (on all counts) my friends.. I will need it. I have over 18 Kgs to shift this year, and it all starts tomorrow (AGAIN!!!)

    Salma

I’m with you Salma! Fasting Monday and Thursday with eating windows. I’ll be thinking of you as you start your new job. You’ll be fine…. Chin up!

    Hugs!

Hi all and happy new year!
As expected, I had a complete break from sensible eating and am now desperate to get back to normal routine- though ‘normal’ is different now as I have retired 🙂
Hubby still working so today I am getting back to sensible again and going for it with a 3 day juice fast/detox. Might be a challenge but its only 3 days and if I like the juices etc might use similar recipes for my usual 5:2 next week.
Also plan to return to SW, am struggling on my own, even though I know 5:2 works so plan to do both for the foreseeable. Am fed up feeling so bloated and carrying extra blubber around my middle.
A friend had a massive heart attack a few days ago and it pulled me up a bit, he is only mid 50s but overweight and drinks too much….
I also plan to use the walking shoes I had for Xmas, just walking a little each day, when its dry.
Hope we all get back on plan now, Salma- good luck today with new job,
    Susie

    Good Morning!

Salma…thinking of you on your first day at the new job. I’ll be anxious to see a post from you letting us know how things went.

Ready for a solid 500 calorie day today. But first…a return to boot camp!! I may die. 😉 My body will say “Oh no….here we go again” LOL! I think I’ll be ready for bed WAY early tonight. It’s supposed to get quite cold tonight and my nice warm bed will beckon. Plus, I’ll be totally exhausted from boot camp and a busy day at work.

Time to get 2016 started! Let’s go!!

    Hello Everyone! 🐥
Lori I hope you enjoyed boot camp in that masochistic sort of way. And then had a good day at work with not too much duolingo. And a lovely fast.
    Glad you got your microwave.

Salma I hope the first day went well, it would have been hard to get your head into gear after all the stress, but I hope it is a great workplace.
I hope you find your couch is better than you think. Mine is quite firm but I can curl up on it very comfortably, and I think it is better for my back.

Susie what fun to be working out your new routine. You will be able to make it a lovely one.

I caught up on sleep last night so I am joining you starting the new year of work… In that I need to start tackling the big list I have been writing. Yesterday I was overtired and just faffed around getting nothing done.

Today is my lull day fast wise. I will go snack free just three sensible meals and nothing in between.

    🐝🌺🐝🌺🐝🌺🐝

Hi ladies, and a very happy new year, now that we are into it!

Fairs went well, so I have lots of money to shopping with on Friday in Denmark – such fun! Of course, there will be nothing to buy!

Was quite proud that I ate nothing all day on all three fairs, without even thinking about food, even though we had snack and – dear me – mcvities chocolate digestives!!! Came home with the packet unopened. Came home to an additional house guest, friend of son has left home, dunno for how long, but his dad took money out of his bank account to gamble – and his most bothered about finding gas and electricity money for his dad for the week, breaks my heart! I told him to stay as long as he likes – though we may have to move the office into the kitchen if he is here very long! My son stayed in on New Year’s eve as he is saving for a new computer – he was only about thirty pounds short last week, was hoping to order it this week – I suspect the order my be delayed for a few weeks – makes me proud!

Salma, thinking of you – hope the new job goes well, doesn’t time fly? It sounded like you were going to have a long break! Let us know how you get on! 18 kilos is just plain doable! That’s 3lb a month in old money, remember Pareto’s law – do 20 percent like the devil is on your tail – watching every morsel, doing an extra ten minutes walk – even an odd liquid day – and the rest will take care of itself!

And we are all behind you – desperately trying to keep up!

Resolution for me this year is to not just feel tired reading your posts Lori, but to get active enough to feel knackered before I start reading!

Sherry, have a good rest cos you and the rest of us will all be pushing our founder! Hope its warm enough for a bit of swimming!

Everyone else, get stuck in, will be quite good this week – though its lasagne tomorrow and probably Wednesday – special request from son, and I ain’t making it for the lads and not eating it myself.

Hello to everyone else – travel hopefully …………….

    Aloha wahinas (Hawaiian for women!)

So re: the couch- there’s a limited selection/inventory of couches on this rock. We looked around & decided to get the same couch but the one we originally ordered – firm/no feathers & one side w/lounger, u-shaped in middle & nice wedge connected to a 2 seater love seat for total seating for 6-7. We did change the material though since we ended up not liking our original choice with the color of our wood floors. It’s a medium brown now & I’ll accent it with topical turquoise Browns/greens foliage print & torquiise solid pillows. They said they’ll try to rush it so it hopefully ships in 2 mo’s instead of 3!

found a super comfy couch that looked more shabby chic but you’d have to “fix” it/plump up pillows & cushions constantly so it doesn’t look too sloppy. Unfortunately every furniture purchase we make gas to pass the kid-proof test! Someday we’ll be able to buy adult furniture!

We are now on our way to Sunset Beach on the North Shore to see the “killer” waves/ expected to be 25-30 feet high today! Will be interesting to see the pros surfing these monster waves!🏄🏽

Tomorrow I’m heading over to Kaikua to see my wellness counselor & im feeling chubby & embarrassed
    – dont know what I weigh right now (& dint want to know!) but I’m feeling like I’m no thinner than the last time I saw her ( & she knew I’d lost 7 lbs since I’d last seen her- sigh! I think I put it back on!). She doesn’t get how hard it is to deal w/holidays, vacations, eating out on my/our worlds! She doesn’t have family to deal with & has her small group of like-minded clean eating individuals that she hangs out with/ spends holidays with so they all eat the sane food! Zero temptations! Oh well- I’m planning on discussing my problem with her to see if she might be able to help! I can’t deal with too many eating out opportunities, holidays, vacations in a row! I can’t keep my resolve that long. I kno if I REALLY tried to plan ahead I might be able to work around ibut it’s tough& I don’t have a lot of time. Any ideas girls? Sorry for the complaining!

Susie, I too am doing my cleanse, probably for 1 week, when I return from Hawaii. Then back to eating clean & fasting – maybe I’ll join you girls , Lori & Salma!

Cinque, if you ever change your mind, you’re welcome to at least come to CA & advise me on improving my organization!😉

Omg! Just caught a glimpse of the GIANT waves! Awesome!

Sherry dear I so dream of beaming over there from this snow and ice rain. Sorry for both your couches girls, yes Sherry you will get grownup one in a while, and Salma hard on the butt is good for the spine. No more slouching young lady!

Cinque hope you got your list done and feel much better.

Milena we shall push our founder and ourselves, I am to be pushed, hard, I am where I started months ago. Back at the beginning Just letting go for a month, my body is a traitor! And I am being so loving to this quisling.

Respect for the sons strategy Milena.

Lori go girl I am right behind you and Salma. My first serious milestone is 13 kilo. And I think I will stop there. That is a little over a kilo a month. Totally doable. And when the pill kicks in I will be saved!

Knowing that I am repeating myself I have to say that I feel best and work best when half hungry. When stuffed feel miserable. I think I am going for a dry month too.

    Love ya all,
    Fast day it is…

    m

    Good morning all..

Yesterday was my first fast day of the year.. Also my first day at my new job. I am amazed that I was able to do it. but I did. Hurrah! I have renewed faith in myself..I had lost all hope of ever reforming my aging, ever-expanding, body.. but I now have new resolve.

I did not think I would enjoy getting back to work, but I actually did. I think most of the staff are somewhat afraid of me.. the organization I have started with is crusty and old fashioned and they seem worried by the winds of change. I am so going to have some fun butting heads with some old dinosaurs 🙂 at least for a while. The chair I was given must be the worst chair in the building (you think they are trying to tell me something?) so first order of business, get a great chair and a fabulous computer.. immediately!

I swear, I swear that my next work will be my own business.. Makica.. right behind you on this one.

I so agree with everyone that when I am on the straight and narrow, I feel better, more in control and lighter. When I overeat, I enjoy it in the moment, but feel bloated and awful later. I read recently something that I liked. Basically, it says that pleasure is NOT happiness. Have a read, it is actually a good article (http://markmanson.net/stop-trying-to-be-happy). The guy has a point.

Milena.. thanks for the push, I certainly need it. I think I would have totally given up had it not been for this forum and the wonderful friends I made on it. I am going back to the straight 5:2 with an “eating window” strategy for the rest of the days (perhaps not the weekend though, or maybe just not for Sunday). I will get round to exercising when my inflamed hip gets better. I have been having joint pains and now have tendinitis in my forefinger which is not only painful but very annoying. It wakes me up in the night with pain and my finger is locked into a ‘hook’ position. I have to pull it back into shape. Sigh! I do think that fasting (and also probably cutting down on the dairy) should help. Perhaps Sherry can ask the health specialist when she sees her.

Sherry.. I get so irritated by these clean-living healthy people. They are so “holier-than-thou”. Frankly, I do not trust people who are ambivalent about food and do not enjoy the sinful pleasure of tucking into a chocolate cake. I just don’t 🙂

I hope you are having a whale of a time; it sounds idyllic. It is cold and rainy here (we only get a couple of rainy months a year, but we are now in the middle of it). The beach and waves sounds wonderful. I sympathize with the couch drama. Mine was not exactly what I wanted, but, life is a learning process, and I will get it right next time I buy a couch.

I wish all you girls a wonderful day.
    Salma

Hi again! Great day of beach walking & giant wave watching! Eating was pretty good-protein drink & apple this late morn , salad w/Mexican chicken & avocado for lunch & a couple handfuls of mixed nuts over the course of the day.

Got brave & texted wellness coach to prepare her before our meeting tomorrow for my recent screwy eating/weight gain dilemma. She suggested we concentrate on mindfulness meditation to get my head straight- something you probably know well Makica as our resident expert on all things meditative!😉
I am so with you Makica on the craziness of how months of weight loss work can be undone & so difficult to remedy/get off! The pill cannot come soon enough! A question for you/your daughter: will taking natural parasite cleansing supplements like oregano & grapefruit extracts or cats claw harm the new bacteria from the pill? And yes, would love for all you snowed-in girls to be able to beam on over for some warm sunshine !☀️

Milena, your post must have come through while I was typing mine & I didn’t see it- great job with your eating while at the fairs! Yes, we all need to kick it into high gear for the new year!

And Salma I too hope your first day at the new job went great! I agree- seems like yesterday you were taking your 3 months off & here it’s time to start that new job already!

Will try to touch bases tomorrow after my meeting, hopefully with some advice we can all use? Good night!😘💤

    Hi all
Glad first day went ok Salma- good for you insisting on decent computer etc straight away. Good to get back on track food wise too, joint pain could be hormonal but I find it is worse when I eat badly- alcohol and sugar for me.
Those waves sound amazing Sherry- would like a place where we could get to see the sea sometimes.
First juice day went ok, tho I woke up with a headache this am. Could be the fast or less caffeine- it suggests you go caffeine free so no coffee or tea, not even decaf but I didn’t do that but drank 1 instant coffee and 3 decaf nespresso which is less caffeine than usual.
Oh well, day 2 and starting with a walk to meet friends for coffee.
    Susie

    Hi Susie,

I also find that when I eat badly, my joint pains become worse, and boy! have I been eating badly!
Of course caffeine withdrawal causes headaches. I went caffein free for 2 years and the first couple of days were hell. I am back to drinking coffee as they now find it has protective qualities against Alzhiemer’s (Makica’s referenced German friend – or, rather, foe).

    Salma

I am making a break from the appraisals I have to do. Hate them with a vengeance! They are a great management tool but still….Now I did it and have to send a ton of loving kindness to all my appraised people.

Way to go Salma, I got a Spinalis chair http://www.spinalischairs.co.uk/, it looks very business like but mimics a pilates ball so your back muscles are working while you sit and the they get stronger so the pain lessens. I also got a standing desk Varidesk http://www.varidesk.com/standing-desk-pro-plus-36 that I can lift and lower easily when ever I can’t sit any more. I tend to stand at least 30% of the time spent in my office. I also have a comfort standing mat so my joints don’t hurt while I stand. And I got a brutal new curved Dell screen, latest in technology so I don’t ruin my aging eyes. So I invested a lot of my own money but I spend most of my day here so that is very important for me. I also got new armchairs for hubby and me. The zero gravity kind for watching TV – http://www.natuzzirevive.com/en/

I did all of this to lower the cost of chiropractors and other doctors that kept going to because I was sitting in a comfortable chair that was ruining my spine, veins…

So dear ones, spend on your bed and where you sit. It is about 20 hours of your day if not more. Take care

    My fast goes well.

Be safe and well, live with ease, be truly happy, peaceful and free. The mantra of the day

M with gazillions of loving kindness

Hello, Lots of lovely posts full of interesting things!

I have had another slow day. I tried to tackle my list but just immobilised myself. So I gave myself anther healing day and just pottered around which ended up being more productive. I added more things to the list! But it might be next week before I can attack the things on it.

Milena I am so glad the fairs went well. So glad you did some easy fasting, and so glad you are able to give shelter to that young man. blessings on your house.

Sherry I hope your appt with the wellness person goes well, and if she gets at all patronising I hope you wrap your cloak of deep motherhood around yourself and just cock an eyebrow at her!
Hopefully she will concentrate instead on useful tips and good tools for managing a full-on life.
And ooh! I’d love to see those waves!

Fingers crossed your couch comes super quick, it sounds wonderful! Turquoise on brown is gorgeous!

PS If I came over to organise you I would just tell you to plan ahead, and you would snarl and say you didn’t have time! Then we would laugh and go and watch the waves.

Makica I am so glad you have your comfy, healthy bed and chair.
btw I love doing appraisals! I make sure they give the staff a chance to talk about what they really need, and that they lead to better job descriptions and a better workplace. I am lucky to be involved in little community organisations (on the management board, or as the boss before I got ill) so I guess that makes a difference.

    Back to the furniture!
Finding that furniture that suits our health and our happiness is a good analogy for our eating patterns and everything else in our lifestyle – and life. After all, we are in our life 24 hours a day! (Or we should be! 😉 )

Salma that is a lovely piece re Happiness vs pleasure. Ofcourse, my name is Joy so I know all about these things naturally!
Just joking, I have had my share of misery, but I am pretty happy these days, (and plenty of pleasure too).
Cheers for your new job. I hope you enjoy licking the place into shape and have the old dinosaurs eating out of the palm of your hand, if possible.

Susie, how is your friend who had the big heart attack? I do hope he is okay.
Let’s none of us have that! Lovely healthy people living life to the full: that will be us mid fiftiesish folk!

I get shocking headaches if I don’t have my coffee(s) and feel so flat and lifeless. But then I sleep better and, if I can wait a couple of days, the headache goes and the next time I have a coffee I feel wonderful!
I am best if I have a couple of caffeine-free days a week. Then I don’t get the headaches and flatness. But I think I only managed two the whole of last year.
It would be good if I made my fast days caffeine free. I will try. (I might take a bit of lead up time).
I adore my coffee and avidly read all the research that shows its benefits! And I am such a coffee snob that if I can’t have a good, real coffee I will go without. But this is Melbourne, it is hard to be too far from a good coffee!

Well this post is long enough! Bye for now!

WOW! So many good posts this morning! Love it!

Keep in mind that it is 4:45AM here so my responses may not be too coherent. 😉

Salma…so glad to hear that your first day at the new job went well. Yes, definitely get a good chair! I spent a year with a bad hip that was finally traced to my office chair. Sigh… Like Makica, I now have a standing desk that I love. I also have a stool when I choose to sit, but it is not very comfortable, so it forces me to do more standing.

I had a good fast day yesterday, but am having some, ahem, “transit” issues, so no loss reflected on the scale. I decided I will weigh after each fast day, at least for awhile. I’m sure my muscles are holding on to a bit of water after yesterday’s boot camp too. I don’t feel too bad and am heading back there in about 45 minutes. It is 8F, which is -13C this morning, which makes it tough to go out!

Sherry…do let us know what your wellness coach has to say. I hope she treats you with loving kindness. Enjoy your lovely time in Hawaii!

Susie…hope the headache goes away. Remember that the first sign of dehydration is a headache, so drink plenty of water. I’m betting the caffeine withdrawal has a lot to do with it too.

Milena…sounds like you had a good time at the fairs. Excellent. Wish I was there to join you in lasagna!

Cinque…hope you are feeling well today. We all need a day now and then to just faff about. No worries!

I must dash. Soon time to head out into the cold for the short drive to the boot camp studio. Hugs to all!!

On the road to Kailua. We’re checking out handmade Balinese dining sets & hitting the beautiful beach there before my family drops me off at the wellness appointment at 4. It’s unexpectedly raining here today so don’t know what type of weather to expect on the Windward side of the island when we get there! The great/crazy thing about rain here is its here one minute, gone the next!

Salma, congrats for getting through your first day on the new job and with s great attitude to boot!😃 Yes, I think it’s good to set expectations of what you need to get your job done/be comfortable up front! I’m guessing you’re the new manager of a group of people? It’s always an interesting dance- the getting to know/learn to work with each other! I know you’ll do awesome!

Thank you Cinque & Lori for the good wishes for my wellness visit today! I’m sure it will go fine-it’s funny because she and I both have strong personalities and can easily take what the other is saying (at least by text) wrongly- then we re-group, laugh about it & move on

Lori are you getting in some good fiber like a salad at least on those fast days to help with the “transit”? I find that’s key for me on fast days since I’m not eating much!

Pausing to check out beautiful waterfall coming off the jungly hillside! So pretty! Btw, Lori- hubby just commented while looking at the jungle that when you play golf out here near the jungle & your ball goes in it just disappears w/out a sound!

Susie, not only are you probably experiencing caffeine withdrawals, but also the effects of detoxing all the crud out of your body in general! It will pass in a few days! Like Salma said, drink tons of water!

Ok girls, will check back in later 😘!

Oh and Cinque, you do realize how relatively close you & I are right now with me being in Hawaii?!😊 A hop skip & a jump for you! Lots of Aussies & Japanese here all the time because it’s so close fir you all!

    Hi all

fry up this morning for me and the boys – 4 of them today – did mine last, managed to smash an egg after doing 8 perfect ones, left most of it, first and last fry up of the year!

Got an aching throat, used to be sign of tonsillitus(sp?) when I was younger, but had them out in my mid twenties! (Must have looked young, was put on the kiddies ward, and the staff nurse tried to stop me watching telly after 7.30!!! And the kids were eating crisps the day after surgery – I fell like death -it really was one of those times that you think your throat has been cut – cos that’s actually what they do!)

Makica – looking for help – I used to sell office chairs for a living so fairly au fait with those, but interested in your zero gravity armchairs, I have a broken coccyx – done when they pulled the bairn out of me, he was stuck around the huge fibroid that had kept him company for months. Had physio fora year, they said it would take at least 6 months to heal, but were moving the timescales each month, I’m not quite so hopeful now that it will ever heal as he is 21 in July!

Office chairs and standard chairs are a no-no – and nowadays even the settee is quite uncomfortable. Any suggestions?

Lori I have never been anywhere that cold in my life. I am glad you have boot camp to warm yourself up.
I am having a more organised day today, but I really need a whole month to faff about in.
All the things I am involved in are things I chose because I really really love them, so I have been laughing at myself a bit when I complain about actually doing them.
I have had a few hours this morning where I really managed to tackle things, including going through my emails and filing, deleting, or answering and then filing or deleting. Ooh that feels good!
My dear home help is here vacuuming and mopping so my place will feel so lovely.

Hi Sherry, neighbour! A little more than a stones throw, but much closer than you usually are! My sister has been in Hawaii, although she travelled from the American side, crewing with someone sailing over. Fortunately they didn’t meet those big waves!
It sounds such a wonderful place!

Milena I hope the sore throat clears up. You must be kind to yourself now that you don’t have tonsils to be your first line of defence. And I very much hope Makica can help with a comfy armchair. You deserve one!

It is just about lunchtime and I am going to have fish and salad. (Packet frozen crumbed fish filet but still yummy). And then see if I can do some more sorting.

    Best wishes 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊 (Waving)

Hi all- done 2 of the 3 juice days and have decided to put the third day on hold and use it as a fast day next week when I get back to usual routine 5:2. Quite enjoyed the 2 days but thought it was enough and after joining Slimming World yesterday also was keen to get back to real food esp fresh veg and salads- I always crave those after a holiday period.
Cinque- our friend is doing ok, has had various tests and is to have a dual pacemaker / defibrillator fitted on Friday and possibly discharged home on sat! Think that is a bit hopeful as he has not stepped out of bed yet but maybe they will get him going this week, thanks for asking.
Having mushroom and broccoli omelette for breakfast, yum, then shopping to restock.
    Susie

    Hi all!

Meeting went well with wellness counselor ( more on that tomorrow as its late here) but just read an article that said snacking on 1/3 cup of roasted soybeans can cut caffeine cravings because it revs up dopamine production & nixes the urge in just 20 minutes! It said roasted soybeans are nature’s top source of tyrosine & phenylalanine, key building blocks of dopamine. Thought this would be interesting for hose who were looking to cut down on caffeine- was that you Cinque?

It was me Sherry! I’ll go looking for roasted soy beans!

Glad to hear about your friend Susie. All the best to him.
    Enjoy that salad!

Hi Ladies, I’m 54 (soon to be 55) and just started the fasting diet. I lost without diet but by watching what I eat and exercising last year around 10 kilos but it’s the tip of the iceberg and my goal now is my daughter’s wedding early July 2016. I need to do boot camp now for Jan, Feb and March and really stick to the fasting and also exercise. I joined a gym last September and it helps I’m sure. I try to go 3 times a week and do a circuit of weight training (approx 25 mins) and then an hour of cardio i.e. walking machine or bike or cross trainer. My main achilles heel is the cold white wine bottle in the fridge. Love my early evening tipple but unfortunately with the first glass goes all my ‘good intentions’ so I’m having a dry January (maybe even dry 3 months). I’m just starting my 3rd fasting day. Sticking to my 500 cals and it’s a gym day also. I have decided that actually it’s best to make fasting days gym days because I think I’ll probably have energy from yesterdays food and also it makes a good chunk of the day pass. Another bonus of gym is that it does give you that pat on the back feeling afterwards. When I first joined last September I weighed in at 100.2 kilos and on their all singing all dancing weighing machine which weighs and records every detail I am classed as morbidly obese with all that bad fat around my tum. Just before christmas I was 94.8kilos and I haven’t been back on the machine yet. I’m giving myself this week to lose the christmas excesses and will hop back on it on Friday. I’m really hoping that I will be 94.8k or even a smidgen less so that I can set off again. I’m breaking my goal (set a goal of 80k to start) into smaller chunks. Have a dinner dance in 2 weeks time so really want to have lost a couple more kilos by then and have a goal for end of Jan, Feb and March. I’ll let you know how I get on on Friday. Great to read all your stories and it’s so easy to relate to all of them.

    Good Morning!

Oooh…I love soy beans but try to stay away from all things soy as I’ve read that those of us with thyroid issues should not have it too often.

We are very cold again this morning, but I stayed in bed till nearly 5:30! Miss Kitty is loving staying in bed since we have our electric mattress pad on. She sleeps on top of all the blankets at the foot of the bed, but I guess the heat radiates up to her and she is quite content. I’m enjoying my morning off from boot camp.

6 month dental check-up and cleaning this afternoon. Not looking forward to it. It always just seems to take SO long and be so annoying to have someone rooting around in your mouth. Blech!

I enjoyed my eating day yesterday. I went out for a soup and sandwich lunch and then we had leftover pork & sauerkraut for dinner. I did have a run in with the peanut butter jar after dinner that wasn’t necessary, but there it is. Another eating day today(sans peanut butter) and then a fast day on Thursday.

    Have a great day!

PS. I’m also using visual aids. I have two glass jars on my dressing table. In one is the total amount of kilos in form of glass pebbles that I want to lose (10 pebbles per kilo) and the other jar is what I have lost. I’ve set myself an official weigh in morning each week – same day/time every week and then transfer over the pebbles according to weigh loss/gain. It’s a great feeling to see the weigh loss jar filling up and the weight jar going down. It’s slow but it’s still good especially when you are feeling unmotivated to look and see what you have lost!

Hello Goodiesueshoes and welcome. We are all struggling here to shift extra pounds/kilos. You will find us a supportive lot here. Where do you live? We have people from all over in this nook. I LOVE your visual aid trick! I think I will steal your idea.. it should motivate me to shift some of the weight that has stubbornly attached itself to my hips.

Lori, I am with you al the way. Thankfully, I do not like peanut butter much, but, oh, the world/fridge is full of other temptations. Mine was chocolate. However, I am back into the swing of things and am sticking to both the window method and the 2 FDs. I actually feel lighter and much better than when I was indulging heavily during the holidays. How lucky is your cat 🙂 Nothing nicer than a warm/heated blanket in winter. I also agree about everything soy; I also avoid it for the same reasons.

I just got back from the doctor’s with my inflamed forefinger and hip.. and .. yup.. severe tendinitis. He put me on anti-inflammatories for a week. Silver lining: I have the PERFECT excuse not to start my gym again until I am better. yaay!

    Have a great day all..

    Salma

    Welcome Goodiesueshoes!
What with gym and dry January you should have an excellent few weeks 5:2ing!
Then you can decide whether to keep ‘dry’ for a couple more months, or how you want to fit those lovely white wines back into your life in a sustainable way.

The glass pebble idea is great!

If you are like me you will find 5:2 so much easier than dieting. Plus the fasting helps me on normal days, whether by resetting the brain in some arcane way, or just allowing me breaks to see how me eating is working or not working for me.

I feel like I am getting ready to eat well and sustainably once I have lost the excess weight.

Salma I am so glad you are feeling good getting back to 5:2 and the eating window, and so sorry you are feeling pain with the tendinitis. I hope the anti-inflammatories kick in quickly.
Now don’t go to the gym until you are completely better! (shaking forefinger in your direction!).

I had the best sleep for a while (I sleep badly) about 4 hours straight and a little more either end, but I feel zonked and not quite ready for a fast day. But a fast day it is, so suck it up Cinque! 😉
I’ve started with licorice root tea. Lovely. Might have to go for coffee next!

    Cheers to the day!
