  • Hi everyone,

I was thinking of making this salade on one of my fast days one day.

    http://www.budgetbytes.com/2014/06/marinated-kale-white-bean-tomato-salad/

but it has no nutritional values.

can somebody tell me how to calculate them / ore calculate them for me?

this is my second post so I am kind of new at this, hope someone can help.

    Thanks so mutch

Most food has the calories on the package. If not, look it up on one of the many calorie counting sites or apps (http://www.calorieking.com/foods/ is one).

Add the calories of all the ingredients and divide by the number of servings. Viola – you have the calorie count.

    Thanks amy,

Ill try right away and put down here what the stats are 🙂

    Anita

I changed the 2 tbsp olive oil to 1 tsp (what should be enough to saute the kale).
than the stats come to 200 cal. for 4 servings, what is about 1,5 cups.
If you only eat a cup portion it wil be 133 cal.
So this seems like an ok dish to me 🙂

    Thanks for the help

    It does sound good.

The recipe stated that the kale was sauted to soften it a bit to make it easier to eat in the salad. So instead you could saute it with a little water, stock, lemon or tomato juice or a short spin in the microwave to achieve the same effect.

It may not taste as good without the oil but it will give you some calories to use elswhere or to have a larger serve, as oil is pretty calorie intensive.
