  • Hello from Canada!

I have just joined the forum and today is my first fast day. I have done 5:2 before and used to have great result. Wish I wouldn’t stop this way of eating, but I did and gained 15 pounds as a result.

I am wondering what are you lovely people eating during your fast days?

I found eggs to fill me up and keep me not hungry the best. So to keep it simple I have decided to have same menu every fast day:

Morning – coffee with 3 tbsp cream
Lunch – 1 fried egg and small cucumber
Dinner – 2 fried eggs and small slice of bread
    Total 500 cal

    Cheers!

Hi Startfasting. I am one of the people who have the same thing every fast day. I have cuppas through the day, most of them with milk in, so that uses up to a cup of milk. Then in the evening I make a big bowl miso soup with shiitake mushrooms, greens and chicken. That’s it!

Breakfast – vegan sausages and tofu scramble or low sugar baked beans (200 cal)
2 large coffees with almond milk (way lower calories than cow milk)
Mid Morning – cherry toms, cucumber strips, bell pepper strips
Lunch – homemade ratatouille or veg stew with added lentils or beans for protein (200 cal)
PM/Evening – black tea, fizzy water, fruit tea

    Done!

    Hi
I don’t know the calories now as I worked it out a couple of years ago but I keep it simple.I can’t see the point of spending a lot of time cooking when you’re fasting.. Save it for the other days.

    So I have
A few grammes of raw jumbo oats, 1/4 of an apple and 1/2 a banana for breakfast with soya milk. About 100 calories.

Salad leaves, tomato, cucumber, radish whatever I fancy with a little olive oil for lunch.

100g of chicken, salmon, turkey whatever either done in water in the oven or cooked in a small amount of olive oil on top with larhge amount of steamed vegatables. No spuds.
    Works a treat.

    Hi:

I don’t eat anything on my fasting days – I fast.

Here are some tips for newbies: https://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/topic/the-basics-for-newbies-your-questions-answered/

    Good Luck!

On my fast days I skip breakfast but have
50g oats with water and a touch of salt ( usually put in the fridge the night before – easy) at lunchtime.
In the evening a spinach omelette with 3 eggs and basically a bag of spinach. Omelette cooked in a teaspoon of olive oil.

Not sure of the exact calories but I know it comes in at under 600 calories.
Sometimes I might have a banana at lunchtime and if so, my omelette is just two eggs.
This way I find easy to prepare, easy to stick to and covers all nutritional bases.
Been doing this now since 1st Jan this year. Losing weight steadily.
On non fast days I just do what I like, as long as I’m not being a pig and shovelling crap down me all day.
