  • Hello.

I read somewhere that the current standard for BMR in the UK is the Henry Equation, which apparently is now the one of choice of the British Diabetes Association.

Trying the weight loss tool on the NHS website it seems it also uses that equation for its calculations.

Anyone could tell me if Mifflin-St. Jeor is still better?

    Links to papers welcome.

    P.S.

In case anyone is wondering the Henry equation for under 30 is:

    14.4W + 3.13H + 113 (male)
    10.4W + 615H -282 (female)

    THANK YOU!
