  • I saw Dr Mosley on The Wright Stuff last week and he made reference to changes in the revised version of his book and that eating mainly protein on a fast day is now recommended.

I only have the first book and wanted to check whether my understanding is correct and if so why this is now recommended.

    Can anyone help?

shona would you care to explain how liposuction or a tummy tuck keeps you fit?

Fat as well, if it works with your calories – try to limit carbs on non fast days too – it really helps.

Remember that putting on weight and increased appetite is really about insulin – so any food that doesn’t raise insulin levels is good. protein can in some cases increase insulin levels, so don’t go overboard (hard on just 500 cals!), but fat will never raise insulin. Carbs always will.

Yep protein+ fat means I can jog 3k or golf without feeling weak on 600 cals
usually 3 egg omelet, bit of cold meat and some porridge made with water, boring but works!
