I am very confused

    I tried all the methods but there was little benefit

    Hi maryoliv,

    All I can say is I followed the original 5:2 guidance for men with 600 calories on non-consecutive fast days, lost all the weight I wanted to in the first 6 months and have kept it off ever since. I’ve now been following the regime for almost 8 years and see no reason to stop. 5:2 is a marathon, not a sprint, but the results still became apparent pretty quickly within the first 6 weeks. You do get plateaus and occasional weight gains but the long term results were clearly always downwards.
