Hungrier the day after a fast?

    I’m on my second day of 5.2, yesterday was a fast day and today I am feeling exceptionally hungry!
    Does anyone have any tips of how to overcome this?

    I too feel hungry the day after,which i think is natural having eaten a lot less than usual the day before..i’ve only been trying this ‘diet’for three weeks, i haven’t seen any difference yet to weight/ waist size bit disappointed!

    Although hungry when I go to bed on my fasting day, I don’t wake up hungry the following day. But find if I have a different sort of breakfast e.g apple and cottage cheese or banana and cold custard, it boosts my sugar level and I feel great. Good luck

    My suggestion- Green Tea! Green Tea has worked wonders for me in helping to overcome hunger on both fast and non-fast days. If I feel a pang come on I just down a quick cup and it’s gone within 10 minutes. Hope this helps!

    Thats interesting re green tea…is it the same with any liquid you drink or just def green tea…its certainly worth a try..

    I’m not sure about green tea- had one yesterday and it made me hungrier!!
    Unfortunately my current ‘zero cal’ options are pepsi max and coffee…which I don’t really want to get into the habit of having frequently :/

    I am on day six fast day I find that after my fast day if I leave off having breakfast I don’t get the hunger pangs. Then it’s a good lunch and dinner, I also find I don’t need to eat vast amounts to make me feel full.

    I find I am also very hungry the next day, however I find that by time I’ve had a good healthy breakfast I’m back to normal. OK breakfast is bigger than I would have normally. But works for me.

    I find the day after my fast day i am not that hungry. I assumed that due to my stomach shrinking the day before due to less calories and food intake, that i couldn’t ‘stomach’ too much food the next day either.
    I am never hungry anymore on fast days or non fast days. I guess this is really why this works. I always say its like a gastric band without the surgery.
