  • Hi all

I heard about this forum via a blog post.

I was introduced to intermittent fasting by The Hodge Twins a few months ago and have recently decided to try it out for myself.

I started earlier this week and made a few mistakes (late night eating etc) but now seem to have leveled out and am doing OK.

For the past couple days I have been doing the fasting without any issues.

My eating window is between 11am and 7pm and I fast outside of that. If I have dinner with friends or family planned I will push the window out one hour or even two for example 12pm – 8pm eating window.

My two questions for the more advanced users are:

    1) what is the difference between intermittent fasting and simple calorie restriction when only considering weight loss? Could you not simply just calorie count for example, enter a caloric deficit and hence get the same benefits? Forgetting of course the other health benefits related to fasting (im talking pure weight loss).

    2) Are you allowed to have a cheat day and when is it recommended and how frequent?

    Thank guys.

    Peace!
