  • Hi Everyone –

I am wondering if I will lose weight doing 6:1.
I don’t mind how long it takes to lose.
I would like to start with that and see how I go.
Any tips or advice most appreciated.

    Thanks 🙂

The 6:1 is basically a maintenance program after you have lost the weight. I went for a 4:3 or alternating fast day…to the 5:2 as I got closer to the weight I wanted to achieve…then switched to the 6-1 after I reached it. Since the 4:3 drops from 2 to 3 pounds a week…and the 5:2 drops about a pound each week..the 6:1 would probably produce a loss of around 1/2 pound a week.

    Happy Fasting!
    🙂

    Hi MsMojo,

Depends really. Are you slowly gaining weight of are you pretty much steady at the moment? If you are gaining then 6:1 probably wont be enough to lose weight. I currently do 6:1 but am in maintenance mode after losing 20 kg. Some weeks I have to make a conscience effort to eat more than I want to as I slowly lose weight. Im a male and try and stay between 71-72 kg.

Try 6:1 and see how it goes. Drink lots of water, avoid sugar and simple carbs like bread, pasta, rice, potatoes. Try and get most of your carbs from veggies (not potatoes!!). Don’t be scared of fats and protein. I have cheese, tofu, high fat low sugar yogurt, tuna, eggs. Fats keep you satiated for a long time. Avoid fruit juice!!! Avoid breakfast cereals including the “health” ones as well. They are pure crap. Might as well pour yourself a bowl of sugar and add some milk. Same thing. Limit your alcohol intake. 7 cal per gram for alcohol. Alcohol must be processed by the liver and stored as fat.

    Good luck.
