  • Last year I went on the 5:2 diet and lost 10 kgs easily in six months. Went off it (big mistake) and had trouble getting started again so doctor gave me medication – Duromine (which only resulted in insomnia) so I’ve stopped taking that. Battled on and followed diet carefully having banana for breakfast, cup of lo-cal soup for lunch and meat/fish and steamed veg for tea (staying under 500 cals. Non fasting days being careful and making sure I stay under 18,000 cals and do 10,000 steps per day. I’ve lost 2 kgs in 4 months. Getting really despondant what should I do.

First, you are losing weight, so that’s good.

I’m guessing you meant 1800 cals on non-fast days? For me, that would be high. Have you checked your TDEE?

The only other thing I can think of is that you might have thyroid problems. Maybe get that checked?

    Good luck!
