  • Hello Everyone, so here I am!! I have struggled to lose weight after an hysterectomy at the age of 29! I was about 9 stone when I went in for the operation and before the op I was very fit – gym and golf and running! I stopped doing exercise after the op and had a lot of horrible complications. Slowly, and I mean quite slowly I am now at 13 stone, have a tummy I hate (still got good legs) but i’m desperate to lose it before I turn 60 – that’s in March 2025!

I am going to commit to one week of Fast 800 to begin, maybe do another week after that, and then switch to the 5:2.

I have just set up my bicycle in the garden on a static stand and plan to walk every other day at lunchtimes.

Wish me luck – it’s quite scary!!

Lots of good luck! And best wishes.
Make it as easy and sustainable as you can.
Don’t worry if you have a bad day. Every day is a new day.

Thank you – going ok – three days in. I am cooking from the book every night and eating one portion and putting the rest in the freezer! Tonight is the ratatouile 🙂

    Hi Sarah,

How are you getting on? (my first post). I started on the 5:2 at a similar time and keen to make pals at a similar stage to me.

Me so far…. Im a yoyo dieter, I never stick to anything. I have an under active thyroid and a sedentary job but I do walk my dogs and play hockey so im not a complete sloth.

The most weight i have ever lost was on the fast 800 but found it too brutal to stick to long term (i also piled everything back on once i stopped it). I’m on week 5 of the 5:2 but had a holiday in the middle and put everything back on that i have lost(3.5lb)!

Back onto 5:2 this week. determined to lose what i’ve gained.
