I might be the “wrong” kind of person having a go at the fast training concept. I love exercise, and clearly is a responder as per my Polar watch that indicated from half fit 2 years ago, to much better now, I have improved VO2max from 37 to 49, I might add at age over 50. My problem is that in the short duration of the cardiovascular exercise I cannot get my heart rate up nearly enough, in spite of throwing all my weight and strenght into the cross trainer. As for Michael not working up a sweat, how???? I ended up after a fast cardio plus fast strength in a virtual puddle of sweat?
My Main objective of fast training is to built more aerobic capacity with less intensive workout than my running sessions. If I do not get my heart rate up, would that defeat the objective?
