  • Hello! Today is my first fast day. I am hungry as I’m writing this, but I feel in control. I still have dinner to eat this evening and some calories left for a snack. Today’s food is as follows:

Breakfast: a ginger green tea. I had planned to have a banana too but I didn’t feel the need.

Lunch: a whole can of Baxter’s minestrone soup (168 cal)

Dinner: one heck chicken italia sausage with half a bag of stir fry veg and half a sachet of Blue Dragon’s chow mein sauce (183 cal)

Snack: an aero bar from a multipack (146 cal)

This brings me to a grand total of 497 calories for a perfect fast day. I feel great to have started to take control of the discomfort I was feeling having put on a stone and a half. I haven’t felt confident in my body for ages now and am constantly starting diets and giving up. I feel like with some willpower I can get through these two days a week and enjoy my life and still say yes to meals out and socialising safe in the knowledge that I am working towards my goals. The suggested health benefits are also a massive plus for me with my nan and great grandma both suffering from Alzheimer’s and my mother sadly passing away from cancer three years ago.

I’ll be keeping track of what I eat on fast days and non fast days to help me stay focused. x

Awesome Fast Day. You got this.

    Hi Hannah!

Can I join you? I am in a similar situation. FD today, I am doing OK but can’t refuse tea and coffee with milk, throughout the day! I normally have one evening meal and I try to stick to about 350 cal because I recon I easily collect 200 cal with my milk in my coffees and teas!

I am 66kg and my goal is to go down to about 61 kg, ideally.

I will try to make an entry most days, but especially on my FD. Normally I fast on Mondays and Wednesdays so if I mess up on either of those days I have Friday to make up with.

Anyhow, this is my story …

    We can do it!

    Hi Igorek,

Good luck with your fast day today! Do you measure out your milk? It could be less calories than you think.

An update from me; I have only done one fast day this week due to social events but I am confident I can get two in next week. I feel happy I got one in and have made the first step towards my goal 🙂

    X

    Hi Hannah

Well done for managing one FD! You are absolutely right, one day is a day towards your success. I am trying to think of this experience as a life-changing, long-term way of thinking about food and lifestyle. I am hugely excited to be in touch with other people who are planning to do the same thing!

We can do it together! x

I am trying to overcome my ‘all or nothing’ mentality and realise that one good day is still progress 🙂

Yes, I think it’s difficult to visualise doing fast days every week at the beginning as they are tough, but I’m hoping over time they will become second nature.

Looking forward to seeing your progress 🙂 x

    Hi Hannah

I think this is where I was failing in the past. Having all or nothing mentality myself. I don’t want to think that any more.

    Speak to you tomorrow x
