  • One week into the WOL. 1/2 kg lost. I would like to share my experiences weekly for the rest of the year. I will need to be on this for at least all of this year and probably half of next year. Thereafter, as Michael suggests, a fast one day a week for maintenance will be in order.
Hi I am 57 and live in Brisbane Australia. I intended to start in January and I was running out of January days so, although last week was not ideal, it was best to make a start. But that it what I like about this WOL. It can fit into real life.
So last week had my daughter’s birthday celebration at a French restaurant (3 courses fixed price), a yum cha for the Chinese Spring Festival/New Year and a barbecue/picnic birthday celebration and a Sunday family dinner of roast lamb. My strategy was to be very strict with the 2 day fast and endeavour to eat at normal calorie levels on the other days. I find I best achieve that by having a light breakfast at 10 o’clock and a normal lunch and dinner with no snacks in between. For the French restaurant day I had a light breakfast and lunch. Each day I am putting in a l20 minute swim or walk.
Also, as a nod to the research found in the Fast Diet Book I am endeavouring to do a 15 hour fast each day; by stopping eating at about 6.30pm and starting breakfast at 10 am the next morning (thereby maximising the benefits of fasting on the other 5 days). Better go. Time for breakfast after yesterday’s fast. It will be a light meal but dinner will be the Shepherd’s pie that the others had yesterday. I get to eat it today so the beauty of this diet is that I don’t miss out!

    Fantastic and inspiring Go-faster!!

thank you for sharing and well done 🙂
