  • After 2 weeks my weight has dropped 2 kg, wow, not experiencing any problems, except this second week I was extremely hungry, but who cares was what I thought, tomorrow is a new day. My biggest problem is that people around me think I’m crazy losing weight, 172cm and 69kg it doesn’t really show that I should be 5kg lighter to be in the lower end of my BMI.
Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hi Ann,

I’m a bit shorter (5ft6) and was heavier (72kg). I’m now nearer 60kg and maintaining. People who now comment on my weight loss say that I didn’t need to lose weight, but are then genuinely surprised when they hear how heavy I was! Nice to know I carried it well, but I’m so much better for not carrying it!

Ultimately it’s your body, and you know what feels right for you. But if it makes life easier you could tell people you are fasting for the health benefits and not specifically the weight loss?

The lower end of a person’s BMI is usually very very lean. Clearly you look good as you are now if people don’t think you need to lose more weight.

I’ve discovered that really most of us look better with a little fat on us. And being as skinny as we can is not necessarily the best look for us, particularly as we age.

Most women are far too critical of our imperfections and you will find that when you reach your goal, some of bits of you will scarecrowy while other bits may just look right.

Its only those with perfect proportions who look great at any point on the BMI healthy level.
