  • Morning All,

Cheery sunny morning here, hubby off in garage and I am off swimming, he is still coughing but not so bad no swimming for him.

The Times Newspaper this morning…it says you have to be on a diet a full year before your body stops fighting your diet and you keep the weight off you loose, then it gets easier. Hope for us all 😀

Ginette may be able to download it but it will be only the bit on the front more about it inside the paper. It won’t do it for me.

Hemmy…Do you have the book Fit for Life? reading up last night on net about it…it’s really interesting..I get heartburn and wrong eating promotes that
( although I have tablets from the doctor just been on 5.2 I don’t take them) have you found an answer for me.

I will be looking more deeply into it later today.

A jump on the scales this morning 2 lbs up Och..so not expecting much at tomorrows weigh in…hope goods in transit! All them steps!!!

Looks like a lot of lengths at the baths today …breath allowing..

Have a good FD all or a good NFD

    Jean x

    Hope the book arrives today!

the thing about the article – in mail/times – is that actually, if you reduce the carbs and fructose in your diet you feel less hungry anyway – because those foods don’t cause the ‘im full’ chemical, whereas others do

don’t ask me the science behind it 🙂 but I certainly find if I eat processed carbs/fructose especially in the form of biscuits/bread/cake that there seems to be no off switch
but if I eat protein/veg/whole foods – the trigger to binge is not there

Hi ginette Yes I do do some funny typos at times its this text thingy it drives me nuts. ….

Hemmy way to go size 12 dress glad you are back on board you had me worried there for a while. ..

Off out for the day with hubby he has missed me, so have the dogs they are not leaving my side so taking them out too for the day….

Have a lovely day my friends, fast or non fast watch those kcals…

    Audrey

What a waste of a trip to the swimming baths..🙁

When I got there no parking places..I went around in circles with a convoy of 8 cars..up and down the rows into Lidl shopping area then out on the roads back around ..then stuck in a funeral….then gave up! No swimming today.

Hubby has just remember why ..a fair is on in the large car park !

I wish I had remembered! Age!

Book not come either! 😬😬 so cross….one of those days…

Hope everybody is having a better day than me
    X

oh dear symba – how ridiculously frustrating!
that would have made me swear – a lot !!!

well today we had a 5th birthday party for the mh unit and I was literally surrounded by cake

stupidly perhaps I had decided to do a fd today – partly because I wanted the lunch tomorrow, but also because I had no idea quite how much cake there would be
I had to make the icing for one of them but only tasted a tiny bit

I did have one small piece, about 1/4 of what I would normally call a slice – but the rest of the time I stayed away from it

its weird how I had to keep checking my hands as they were trying to automatically gather up crumbs/bits to eat

anyway I have a big slice for the weekend, and there will be lots there still tomorrow

I hope you are impressed, I don’t think I have ever had that much will power around cake in the past

but the damn voice in my head, complaining, saying its not fair, endlessly wanting some – phew that was hard

I will be over 500 as I am also having salmon for tea, but I don’t care,
it was that or cake ha ha

    Hi KT,

You did really well you should be so pleased with yourself….just a teany tweany bit. A nice big piece or nearly big piece at the weekend.

    Swear …yes I did a lot…good job I was on my own!

Just booked 3 nights in the caravan, Monday to Thursday, it works well FD will be travelling each way so makes it easier! It’s Tuesday and Wednesday the worry…no it’s not all in hand 😇

Hemmy….gone out today and bought a carrier bag of fruit…grapefruit starter all cut for the morning…with sweet fruit to follow, strawberries, blueberry and raspberries.

Audrey…hope you had a lovely day out with hubby and feeling more settled to be home.

    Have a lovely evening all.

    Jean X

    Hi Sym

Glad you got your fruit in at the ready.

What a shame re the swimming … annoying when you were all geared up. Hope your steps went well.

Again not hungry today … is it the fruit … non wine drinking… no bread ..Not having to get food for anyone else.

Or a combination of all. Anyway a nice relief not to have food ruling my day.

3 days away will be good for you both after hubbys cough. Hope tomorrow is good for you. xx

Aud .. lovely visions of you Ian and the dogs Awwww. Xx

Gine hope you have had a nice restful day. Your meal to look forward to tomorrow. Xx

KT .. Well done for keeping away from the cakes. As you say you can enjoy your slice later. Xx

Hope everyone else is okay. … Anyone fasting tomorrow. … Going to have my fruit at lunch time .. then some salmon a few small potatoes and salad with Kristy later.

    Xx

    Hi Jean

Sorry about your wasted trip, what a shame. You are certainly waiting a long time for that book.

    Hi KT

What willpower, I am so proud of you. Ending up the day a little over still makes it a really good day and a real achievement that you had such strong willpower. I agree with the carbs thing especially refined carbs.

    Hi Audrey

What a lovely picture you painted, it should be called the homecoming. I’m sure you are happy to be back as well. Yes I do a few as well. Posts sometimes are too long to check.

    Hi Hemmy

I had half a restful day. Cleaned the fridge out and packed full of the shopping delivery. Mostly healthy. I then did a bit of sorting and I gave filled the car with bags to drop off for tomorrow. I am really looking forward to my meal as well….so no fasting although this is one of my usual days.

    See you tomorrow.

    Ginette

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

A damp start this morning …. hopefully do some cleaning indoors as lots of garden time this week. Lol My hobby along with reading.

Gine Enjoy your lunch … no holds barred today… treat day…you deserve it.

We had better get rid of any noughties we have hanging around… Before Monday. Lol

    Have a lovely day. Xx

Aud Hope you have settled back in with your little family… all glad to have you back I am sure.

Mr Pips greetings make me sooo happy when I arrive home. He just goes mad when Kristy arrives.
    Are you fasting today. Xx

Sym hope the scales are kind for you both today. Xx

KT … how is it going with you. Xx

Karen .. hope you are enjoying your week … Friday is here already. lol Xx

    Brit lovelies…

“Baby steps count, as long as you are going forward. You add them all up, and one day you look back and you’ll be surprised at where you might get to.” Xx

    good morning everyone

    rainy here, too, hemmy

think I have decided to do 2 fd’s as normal and then try one at around 800cal
although that means me watching calories on 3 days which I HATE
but I just don’t want to do another day without breakfast

    Morning all,

Yes hemmy I am sort of fasting ….that is I am having low calories sausage n mash for my tea….. just less than 500 kcals….

Ian is joining me so will not be too bad..

Have a great day everybody keep in touch together we are stronger

    Audrey

    Hi KT

Yes, 2 and 800 sounds like a plan. Do you have a big breakfast. I know lots of people have breakfast as their largest meal of the day.

They used to say .. Breakfast like a king… lunch like a Queen and dinner a pauper.

Trouble is years ago it was bacon and egg .. or a good bowl of porridge with wholesome natural food full cream milk. ( My gran put treacle on our porridge. ) wonderful days.

Now its sugar coated cereals.. etc. Xx

    Morning Friends,

A lovely sunny day here…my Housemartins and Swallows will be back in two weeks..they will tell us summer has arrived.

Good scales for us both..1 lb each off..really surprised but not complaining..chasing my 1 lb off for next week it will take me to my beautiful stone off 😀.

Hemmy…joined you with a fruit breakfast today…I enjoyed it. Lots on the fruit bowl looks really appetising. Weekend around again enjoy Kirsty time.

KT….I am possibly like you a 5.2 and a 800 calorie day thrown in…I work to my calories on NFD now 1200, I hardly ever go over them. Still we must be eating less I have a cupboard full of food and shopping day today…two things on the list!

Ginette…have a lovely day out..enjoy…get rid of all those bags lol

Audrey….hope your day out went well yesterday, a bit of lunch out? I always have coffee out when shopping part of the experience lol

Karen…hope you are still on an even keel..

Clarkey….hope all is well and you are getting in to the way of life…are you off on a weekend?

Hope everybody else is doing well, have a lovely day, pop by and have a chat…

    Jean x

    Hi Sym

Oooh so thrilled for you. Well done both losing the lb. Big celebrations here next week when you top that stone mark. Xx

Its funny you say about the food… I seem to have lots here too. Times are a changing as yesterday .. trolley really just fruit and veg. Even remarked to Mum .. was proud.

Hope you get on well with the fruit… lots of extra water content so must be good. No one loved their toast more than I did.

As I said before I think we have brainwashed our selves with the help of the media to eat all this rubbish. YAY NATURAL HERE WE COME Xx

    Hemmy..

Yes I will be thrilled the pounds have just gone up and down but now getting closer!

Still waiting for the book see what difference we have to do..some tips hopefully.

Treacle in porridge sounds lovely….I love golden syrup and treacle usually in flap jacks!! Lol

You and Audrey crossed with me…I am slow writing then drinking my tea, talking to the cat, check spelling then others have posted lol….age again..

    X

The book has arrived!…..changing all plans…now reading 😃😃😃

    X

Wow parcels r us. … my honeygar has arrived… I bet you enjoy your parcel more than I do Jean…

Have tasted it …. it’s certainly potent. …

    Lol

    Audrey

    Lol x

Lol Sym read that book fast. Waiting for tips .. what we can and cant do.

How are you feeling about the fruit till lunch time. xx

Aud is that the cider vinegar. I tried to mix a spoonful with honey and cinnamon but chicken out. Hope you get on well with it. It supposed to be wonderful. Xx

    Hemmy…

Yes getting through it…up to excerise now.

It’s interesting very like the 5.2 but with some tip changes, brown bread instead of white, going brown rice instead of white…keep off 50/50 products which I already do. A reminder what we should be doing. Calorie counting every day for the six weeks, again I am doing that.

I thought it would be hard but hubby won’t know I am doing it! It’s just a bit stricter.

Coffee..they telling you to up veggies to 75% and meat 25% so you would just eat your protein what you eat now. It’s healthy eating, home cooking and not buying in processed food…we are all possibly doing this now.

My book was £3 EBay good buy just had two pages bent over…brand new…..still reading going onto menus soon.

I am quiet excited it will be easy for people who are already fasting…just a few tweaks here and there and a bit of excerise.

    Jean x

    Hemmy..

I have been going to loo all morning! But all well. I enjoyed the fruit..loads more to eat. Lol

Off to hospital with hubby now

    Speak later
    X

Good afternoon everyone. Hope you are all well, and congratulations to the weight losers!

Weather here is horrible, gray, wet and cold!

Thanks for the info Symba. I’ve sent for a book (off ebay) but it says it won’t be here till 21 -24th. In the meantime I think I may do the same as KT, 2 FD and 1 800 cals, while at the same time putting into practice the brown bread, brown rice and the 75% veg. At least it’s a begining. I’ll also try and up my ‘exercise’ which at the moment is none existant! One problem I may have is that I usually do a ‘quorn’ cottage pie or similar with veg for my FD. I’m assuming that this counts as processed food, which means I may actually have to start cooking something! I don’t eat breakfast and can usually go all day without eating until 6-7 pm. Don’t know if this is a good or bad thing and if I up my ‘exercise’ I may feel hungry at an earlier time. Ryvitas are my friend. I love them with banana mashed on, or cottage cheese, although that is usually the one with pineapple in so not low fat, also great with laughing cow low fat cheese triangle (25 cals) and tomato, cucumber and spring onion.
Glad your doctor was pleased KT, it will have set your mind at ease somewhat. What is the problem with your throat? Asking because I also have problems with mine, but that started long before I went on this WOE.

    Take care everyone. Xx

    Coffee,

I think that’s what I will be doing two 500 calorie and a 800 calorie days..count calories every day, no alcohol or keep it low amounts. Up some excerise. The recipes are not my cup of tea, I prefere food I like if I am not eating much, I am eating crackers now instead of bread, I can have 5 small round ones for 100 calories it just cuts the calories down as no butter.

I am sure you will be fine what you eat as long as you count your calories so you know what you are eating, even Mimi was eating 1600 calories on NFD but sometimes missing lunch out odd days.

It’s gave me a boost on reading although a lot of it you know..just puts you on track again…for £3 I thought a good buy.

    Jean x

    Hi Jean
Yes the book will, if nothing else, confirm that what we are doing is more or less right. 🙂

Must admit I miss my bread 🙁 ryvitas are only 33 cals each and a nice size for something to snack on, but NOT the same. LOL

I’m rather confused about the TDEE, on here is says about 1800 cals and on fitness pal it says 1200 cals – that’s a hell of a difference! I’m 5′ 9″, weigh 14st 10lb and hit 67 years of age a few days ago. Which one do the rest of you follow?
Do we know how many are going to start the FBD properly? I think if we do the 2 FD and the 800 day it will give us a boost at least.

    Christine X

Forgot to say – My exercise is ‘Sedentary’ LOL

So, first post and first day of following the 5:2 regime. Have decided Friday and Saturday will be my ‘2’ days so today was a fast day which went far better than I thought. I was initially appalled by the idea of trying to get through a day on only 500 calories, but having found some recipes here and on the net which fitted the idea I actually don’t feel hungry. We’ll see how that goes then… 🙂

I’m 52, peri-menopausal, 5 weeks out from an emergency laparotomy, and rubbish at keeping weight off even though losing it isn’t really that hard. I would normally exercise using online walking/low impact video routines three or four times a week, yoga every other day and walking briskly for an hour in the great outdoors every day. Currently only walking because of op recovery but feeling good because I am back up to my daily hour. Anyone out there with dodgy knees, a fat tummy and an innate ability to yoyo weightwise? I am aiming to lose a stone, stone and a half if I can.

    Hi Christine,

My TDEE is 1885 on here..as you say MFP logs in at 1200.

I usually stay close to 1200/1300 unless it’s a special occasion and I go up a bit. When eating out I usually miss lunch to balance the calories.

I am hoping we all do well and get some weight moving getting us all feeling more positive. You was unsure of doing the FBD but you will be fine it’s not as bad as it sounds.

Come on you must try and do some excerise if I can with my bad feet you can…I am joining you next week at 67 it feels so old but I don’t feel it. 😂😂

    Keep in touch all

    Audrey

    Welcome witchmojo…

We are a busy little corner helping each other along…enjoy your two fast days..takes a couple of weeks to get easier.

Audrey…sausage and mash umm ….have a good evening

Hemmy…you OK …how’s your FD going…oh this morning going to the loo loads up to lunch time, is this how you get your steps in..lol

    Jean x

    Hi Girls Xx

I am not on a FD today .. not till Monday then Tuesday. Just trying to be good on a normal day as not eating my meal till 8.30. At the moment estimated till of the London arrival. Lol

Yes, that fruit does make you pee. Lol In and out of the loo all the time. Still good with the water content.

Fruit in the morning definitely makes me feel good. Had a Jacket potato and a big salad for lunch at 1pm… waiting now with anticipation for a Salmon steak… new potatoes ( my first mint from the garden) .. mayo with lemon ..parsley ,, and again a salad. 6 big strawberry each. Lol

Just sitting her now with a glass of Merlot. Thinking… its amazing how you can shift yourself to clean the house right through in a few hours when need be. Lolol

Hi Sym..You sound pleased with the book … its only six weeks we can do that. A challenge … get a nice amount off then we can settle back with 5-2.

I need a goal … something to get out of my comfort zone for a while. Still think its the food and drink that is more important.

I do at least an hour and a half walking every single day … at the least 5 when Kristy is here. I thought I read you would have to-do 37miles or such to lose a pound. Looking forward to Monday. Xx

Aud that bangers and mash sounded lovely. Well done with the fast. Is Ian good at FDs .. is he losing too. Xx

Coffee .. It would be nice if everyone joined in FBD for 6 weeks. Just maybe cutting a treat out or something… or adapting it to suit them. No pressure though as we are all here for an easy carefree lifestyle. .. while losing weight. That can be done on 5-2 anyway. Xx

Welcome Witch Mojo .. to our little corner.

Good luck … Lol your description .. probably covers most of us. Lol But not for much longer. WM we can all do this… stick with us girl. xx

Gine hope you enjoyed your lunch and had something naughty. Lol Xx

KT how are you doing today Xx

Good morning friends hope all is well with you and yours.

Wet start here … thank goodness no walking duty for me today.

Kristy and I are off to Banbury today .. so hope it improves hate shopping in the rain.
Had a few wines last night and feel yukky this morning. Think after abstaining for so long it really affected quickly.

Getting all geared up for Mondays start on the FBD … bring it on. Lol

Hope everyone is ok …. Have a lovely week-end.

    Brit lovelies…

We can do anything we want to do, if we want to do it bad enough.Xx

    Morning Brits,

What a lovely bright sunny morning…..but very cold….

Getting my charts filled in for Monday…as we will be off in the morning with caravan always last minute food packing.

We were going to do some gardening this morning some turf needs to be bought and a bit of digging out to be done…I have been out to the bin and it’s so cold…maybe another day unless it picks up.

Another fruit breakfast for me this morning keeping with Hemmys theme..

We are having an easy day food wise we call it DIY day, although I do it lol..something on toast, boiled eggs or what we fancy…usually a low calorie day.

Roast beef and the trimmings tomorrow before the big day starts, maybe a glass of Merlot.

Just got my Fitbit ‘badge’..for 5 days on the trot for 10,000 steps a day…will it burn some calories ?….hoping I can manage my 5 days next week Monday to Friday …with being away? Hope so.

Enjoy Banbury..Hemmy…shopping with daughter!! if anything like mine she will walk you off your feet! Returning to the first shop she went in 3 hours earlier..lol…Good luck…enjoy your day.

Have a lovely weekend all…lets get our mind set ready for Monday whoever is giving it a try..even in parts

    Jean x

    sorry all
I don’t think I can join in to the fbd
I blew it all yesterday and since then things have gone t*ts up

I no longer want to do any of it
I am done with it all

    Morning all

Sorry just a quick post got girls coming…

KT if that’s how you feel so be it if that is your decision . I wish you well for the future…

Jean well done on your fitbit badge and have a Great time away… we are off to our van on Thursday for the weekend..

Hemmy sounds like you we back on board ….. yeah good luck for the FBD. .

Ginette hope next week gets you back on track too..

    Have a good weekend everyone

    Audrey

    FT,

Just stay on the 5.2 …you have really lost a lot…. don’t blow it like we did last year….think before you stop.

As Audrey says its your decision..it only works if you want it too.

Take care and pop back after a break if you want too.

    Jean X

Day two; feeling pretty crummy but that is probably down to BP as much as anything else. Stomach sounds like it is eating itself! 😀 Second fast day and already looking forward to normality tomorrow 😉

Couple of quick questions, if you will… Felt quite weary doing my hour walk yesterday and wondered if that was connected to the lack of energy being put into my body. Is there some simple advice about exercise on fast days? Also, what is FBD please, for a newbie 🙂

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Sun has just come out and I want to walk but may have to curtail it a bit if I get worn out again.

I don’t want to stop but head has sort of lost the plot and everything is too much
I am so tired of spending my life afraid of food

Lol we have had rain … snow now the sun is shining. Going to see if I can find something nice in a 12 at the charity shops. Hang on the wardrobe. Lol

KT Be kind to yourself.. we will always be here for you. Xx

WM This is a good article on the FAST BEACH DIET.
    Hope that explains. Xx
You may want to see how you go with 5-2 for a while though.. xx

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-2624470/Mimi-Spencers-fabulous-5-2-fast-beach-diet-Lose-12lb-6-weeks.html

Thanks, Hemmy. Think I’ll pass this time around. I’m only on day two and I think I should get used to the idea before trying to do anything like that, but an interesting read.

    WM,

You have decided to do 2 fast days together it could be a bit hard to start with…maybe consider to do 2 separate days it will be easier.

As for excerise it usually helps by doing it on a fast day, I think it helps with weight loss. This is the second time we have been on th 5.2, due to hubby having two new knees, we stopped fasting, we ate wrongly again and put all our 30 lbs each of weight back on!

We used to swim for 45 mins twice a week, we lost 1 or 2 lb every week. This time we are not and we keep going on a plateau but the weight is moving down although slowly.

I have decided to do my 10,000 steps a day to try and boost the loss and hubby working a lot in the garage with his excerise but I think we should make an effort to start swimming again. I don’t want to start something which we always have to do.

We may consider a months boost with swimming…but I am going to see if the FBD works for me ( hubby not doing it staying with 5.2) although I am really doing it now except for a few tweaks, missing odd lunch and cutting back on alcohol, counting calories every day faithfully.

Good luck …It takes a couple of weeks to get into it…….but it just needs a bit of effort then you are a winner.

Hope it answers some of your questions.

    Jean X

    Keep trying,
Don’t give up and be afraid of food, it’s a necessary evil so we have to learn to live with it! I’m not being flippant, I know exactly where you are coming from having been a professional dieter for 3/4 of my life. I was counting calories day in and day out, I lost weight but it’s just not a plan for life and put it back on when I stopped counting. So now for 2 days a week I have that ‘control’ and for the other 5 I am still learning that food is not the enemy, and do you really want 2 biscuits, wouldn’t 1 be enough? That is a mission in itself, but worth it. We have to keep going, it really isn’t an option x

    Hi All

Sorry I am late in posting.

Sadly meal wasn’t nice, I opted for not having a Cavery as they have other things there and I can have a carvery in FBD. I had steak and ale pie which was about obne inch tall and filled half the plate, it looked nice if a little flat, meat was sloshy and pie was soft and gooey nit crusty as if it had been microwaved. Carrots were nice, they served it with chips and gravy always a strange combination I think. I was really looking forward to dessert sticky toffee pudding and custard. Custard was bland pudding looked more like treacle and was so sweet all the way through I couldn’t eat it. I must say that had this not been somebody’s birthday I would have complained but didn’t want to spoil the day for them, still thinking of complaining though. The carvery beef was also over cooked. Sigh…. Needless to say to revisit planned.

    Hi Jean

I am so pleased you have your book. I know that reading books before doing something helps inspire us on. I see that a lot of you are doing 2 X FD and 1 X 800 cal day. I may even change to this myself.

No I agree I don’t even think hubby will realise. I know it says to cut out or reduce alcohol if you can’t, this would allow you a glass of wine once a week as a treat. As I said before I always still had my Sunday dinner, the biggest part of this for me is always the veg anyway so that follows the guidelines, I just allow myself a couple of small potatoes. Pam cooks mine but if I cooked it would dry roast with a spray of frylight. As its Pam this wouldn’t suit her so I fit in. I lost a lot of weight last time anyway doing this. So I was quite happy.

Recipes in that book weren’t to my taste either. But you can easily work without them and I am sure we will be trying out some new ones. We can all post and make our recipe books from that.

    Hi Hemmy

I agree nothing like a dog to greet you like this. Yes I have got a few things I need to eat up. I have been a bit slow with sorting this week as I would have normally got another day in. Maybe I can make up for it next week. Although I am out Webs to see the trainer, Thursday to get my hair done and Friday to Pam. So looks like only Monday and if I can a couple of hours the other days.

Must get some rhubarb as well and more vegetables midweek. More fruit today or tomorrow.

    Hi Coffee

I often have a couple of ryvita on a fast day evinced if I am well below. I don’t really look at them other days though maybe I will during the next 6 weeks.

Yes the TDEE on this site is the energy toy will need everyday to maintain current weight. The fact that on two days you fast if you don’t go over on the NFDs you should lose nearly a pound. In MFP you input the weight you want to be and how much you want to lose each week and it gives you a top calorie allowance acoring to your current weight and also the other information you put in, this is not considering that you do two fast days during the week. I hope this helps explain the difference.

My exercise is sedentry as well I am sure we are not the only ones though. This is one readin that I got the Wii you can do 10 mins at a time and then relax, 5 mins if you want. They Wii fit is especially good if you have never used it as it is compulsive and keeps you wanting to beat your own scores. I particularly love the obstacle, rhythm parade, bird one and pin ball machine. Don’t be put off by the fact that they are just games, they get you out of the chair and get you out of breath so they do burn more calories, you also see calories burnt adding up and sometimes want just to do a little more to reach a tarhpget you won’t be able to resist setting for yourself.

They are cheap to buy second hand and can be done on your own with no embarrassment and a bit of fun. I also like the cycling one.

For people who are unfit these at are ideal. I went onto another game called exebeat afterwards, I did lose a lot of weigh I didn’t try and cut down on food but the exercise made my need for certain foods change. I no longer wanted or craved the sweet things, it seemed to satisfy me, I am sure it is because of the andirohines it releases.

    Hi Audrey

I must have missed something as I don’t know what honey gar is. Is this honey with cider vinegar?

Enjoy your girls this weekend. I hope this gets me back on track as well.

    Hi KT

Don’t get despondent, remember if you give up you will put on, if you carry on with 5:2 you will lose. Perhaps it is early days for you to be trying fast beach, we have all been on 5:2 longer and some of us have felt we have reached a plateau so it is a good kick start again. You have reached this plateau so do what you have been doing. It is so easy yo give up but this will only leave you feeling more despondent. Just carry on as you were doing.

    Hi WM

Nice to see you here. Firstly what good news that try our first day went well. I must admit I’m not surprised at you having problems with two days together especially at first. I always put a day in between although I have done two together normally by accident. Many of us have been here a while and there fire are just doing the FBD. Not one for newbies I think.

I see that Hemmy as posted a link so you can find out more about it.

    Hi Ash

Yes you are so right more or less my thoughts if you stop you will soon be back to old ways and the weight will creep back uo and possibly more beside. Good advice to KT.

    Ginette

    thank you for the support
I cant really say on here what is going on for me right now

    Ginette,

I am just packing and food scales are in the food box! With my week 1 tracker record.

It’s strange but I have a lot of food now in the cupboard and freezer which we are not eating, so we must really be changing our food habits, potatoes starting to throw away not used and two loaves of bread gone dry in the freezer! Thrown away!

I never ever throw food away I pride myself as not being wasteful.

We went out for my end of week shop for two items….milk and toilet cleaner!

My larder will keep so not a problem, my baking things not moving either. We should be loosing pounds 😀 .

Hoping the first week gives us all weight loss which we want…making us all feeling positive.

Nice idea of collecting recipes, low calorie of course…

    Have a good weekend

    Jean x

    Hi KT

We don’t know what you are going through but the people here will support you and not judge, of course you can decide to leave us as you have free will but will that improve what is going on in your life, I don’t think so. Remember here you are amongst friends and at bad times we all need support. I hope things improve for you soon.

    Hi Jean

Well done you are on a mission now. I have put my potatoes a pack of 4 (now 3) in the fridge as I use them so rarely. The wholemeal granary bread is in there as well. It lasts a good few weeks there.

I am rereading tge book now. This is a comment I found interesting:

“Alcohol is chemically similar to sugar, so drinking it will set off the same insulin resistance that can promote weight gain”

This obviously isn’t my problem. Soup is your friend before meals as it keeps you full so I have 2 lots of soup to make an asda prepared curried veg pack that I can have with vegetables (won’t be constipated). So these are my plans Monday I think I will have soup and then fish in sauce with vegetables, this may also allow for a portion of strawberries and melon at lunchtime. This is fast day so that will take me up to the calorie limit.

Tuesday maybe fruit and then chicken bake with for dinner I shall make it and take it up to Pams. Wednesday fruit and curried vegetables with more vegetables. As its fast day again and the rest of the week to plan. Of course this may change as I may also include an egg on granary bread on a NFD.

Glad you are planning as well and of course the scales will be needed. It is an idea to measure before you start as there may be a big difference.

I have a few bits to eat up tomorrow as Hemmy said they don’t want to stay there to tempt us. I have one thing I won’t manage so I am hoping it will last 6 weeks. That too is in the fridge I bought two small Madeira cakes. The second will have to wait a while to be eaten. That is why I wanted to delay it by a week as I had preordered the shopping and wanted a chance to get it all out of temptations way.

    Ginette

    Ginette

It looks like we are all on track and trying to be organised.

    How many of us…

Hemmy , Ginette, Jean, Coffee and Audrey joining us on the side..

    Have I forgot anybody?

OMG – you all sound so organised! Can I come and stay with one of you for the 6 weeks (have to be vege though) LOL
My kitchen is full of ‘tempting treats’ OH would not be able to survive without things like apple pie and icecream, cakes and chocolate biscuits. And that’s not mentioning the crisps and nuts! Still I suppose if I can do it under these conditions then I shouldn’t have a problem in the future ( she said with fingers and toes crossed) 🙂

KT I just want to send you (((Hugs))) Take a few days out and start again. You say you are sick of spending your life afraid of food, but it doesn’t always have to be that way. You’ve done really well and lost loads of weight on this WOE and proved to yourself that you CAN do it. To be honest we all have problems that we have to cope with – some more than others – but making yourself miserable by being overweight doesn’t make the problems any easier (ask me how I know!) If you had a really, really close friend who was in your situation ask yourself how you would advise her and then try to follow your advice for yourself. Remember we are on your side. Xx

    not going anywhere –
you are all so lovely and so supportive

just being rather self destructive right now

I wish you all the luck in the world for the next few weeks

    love KT

    i Dear friends. Xx

Lol Gine and Sym with all the food we have about we should be lbs slimmer by now.

In fact ,, today when walking to the local shop … I thought .. You know what girl you are sick at the thought of food.

Although .. Kristy has lost a good amount … she is always eating. I do now notice after missing a week with her … I am not eating half as much now.

It is so much easier when you are alone. Lol

I just love this this fruit till lunch … eaten hardly any bread.

Think next week will also join you girls in 2 + 800… not so strict for us to start. Then see how it goes. Will be nice to all do the same plan.

Thinking of … Normal days ..waiting till noon for the start of the fruit… then having a protein .. veg or salad dinner at 7pm.

Then just FDs as usual. told Kristy no wine for 6 weeks and she has agreed to do the same. Needs a break from it as loads of events coming up for summer.

Gine what a shame about that meal. So disappointing but seems to be the norm theses days. Lots of people seem to just except it … I often wonder what they have at home. Lolol

We have just had curry as I had poppadoms and Nairn bread to use up.

Sym you do sound like a woman on a mission … good for you. Xx

Coffee sounds like a lot of temptation there… You are doing so well though. Xx

KT … Try to stay with us. Things do get better a lot of good advice from Coffee. Xxxxx

Aud hope you are having a lovely day with your girls. Xx
