It s a cold grey day again..at least no ice and snow.

I always feel sad this week of the year as Andrew and I had had a week s timeshare at the Devon Court Hotel in Exmouth .. lovely room over looking the sea and wonderful out of season.. We did that for 21 yrs.. Always lovely to look forward to after Xmas. Sad but wonderful memories. X

Croc pot on and smelling warm and wonderful .. Chicken breasts .bacon and loads of veg and herbs.

Jean- must be a tricky job doing plumbing, when things go wrong, we always feel for our plumber as the houses here are so tricky, all built with American pipework, not UK! Exciting going on your cruise, hope it’s lovely! No, Mum wouldn’t be happy going in a home, she’s not ready for that yet, doesn’t really need carers yet I don’t think, needing a bit more help hopefully…when she’s in her usual routine it’s not so bad, but anything different throws her!
Dave- not used to dogs not eating, so strange!
Hemmy- 🤗hugs for you, lots of happy memories, must’ve been lovely to have that break to look forward to at this time of year…I’ve not heard of hotels doing a timeshare before! My nan & grandad had one in Spain. Enjoy your Crockpot meal, we’ll done keeping off the alcohol!

Chilly and grey here again, where is the sun?! Have just had the one meal today, did some fiddly cleaning jobs,like cleaning the uplighter shades. Thrilling day! I was very chuffed with my teeny hoover attachments 😂

Good afternoon everyone sunny day today. Find it difficult at the moment to concentrate on losing weight.I have lost 1.5 stone since I started at MoreLife, but it’s getting harder. Only two more visits there then it’s all over. Got to decide what to do then. Lots of decorating to do. Every room in the house except the toilet. So hope Chloe dosent get paint all over her.

A much brighter day here with some attempt at sunshine..

On holiday now till Monday morning just doing basic chores.

This mornings weigh in have lost a pound this week.. So just one to go to pre Xmas weight. Yay.

Soo pleased my sweet cravings have gone after stopping wine.. Its always hard initially as you have to replace the sugar that you miss in the wine.
That’s it now back to coffee drinking..

Dave.. You have lost a brilliant amount of weight .. Sometimes its just harder to concentrate with circumstances…. Denise not being well then all the roof hassle.. So cut yourself some slack as you know you can it. you have.

Good evening everyone,I have no idea of the roofers have finished. Not had any paperwork.Having a day off today just not in the mood for dieting. Been having problems with my dynasty home.A bloke who does YouTube as helped me out with it, got it sorted then tried another think and that’s not working so did some investigating and going that I need to update firmware so did that not it didn’t work. They specify that that will happen just to do it again not I’ve done it 5 times now and not joy.I have contacted them but they are in China so could be a wait. I’ve ordered a thing from them on 1st Feb but that’s not arrived yet so contacted them by email. In still waiting for a birthday card from my sister in law. Only 18 days late at the moment.

A very wet dark chilly day here.. got soaked on our walk ..
It supposed to be an easy weekend but decided to do my dreaded brass cleaning. all done and shiny now.
Its a neighbours birthday took presents and had coffee and cake so a busy morning.

Just going for a quick play in the wet garden then will read. Not sure on food for this evening as very full now.

Good evening, very cold day today. Was glad to be home after the last walk. Bowling tomorrow I must be mad. Had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding took Chloe 4 minutes to eat a big bowl full. Then she fell asleep.No alcohol for 12 days, not as long as you Hemmy.Also not took co-codamol for a week I think. Not been in pain so maybe because I have lost a bit of weight my knees are feeling the benefit.

A good weekend. Weighed this morning and exactly the same so a good weekend.

No Alc is 29 days today.. Its really going well .. Saturday evening I did give it a fleeting thought .. then told myself I had come eo far .. and it did the trick.

Dave.. Well done .. keep going with the alc .. keep counting your days. I am looking at an interesting site called “”Well Mind” .. it tells you daily how Alc affects peeps and everything that happens to the body when you stop. It covers peeps who don’t drink much and those that do .. Its interesting.. Look it up.

With your arthritis .Have you tried daily rubbing a small blob of Deep Heat cream into it Its good the heat definitely helps. eases it .. I have it in my knees .

H H .. Oh that reminds me soo much of my time with Mum.. She would often get things into her head and a job to shake them. Sometimes it takes over your day.
Did she enjoy the snowdrops…. I have lots in the garden.. Years ago I got some roots from over the fields.. now every time they are over I divide and replant.. They are soo pretty

Had two games of bowls yesterday.It was the A team against the B team.Pairs, the first game we won by 10 then my partner went home but our captain played with me. We were 16-8 down but managed a comeback to win. I had a breakfast for my tea last night, sausage egg bacon and beans. That’s ok but had 2 toast with it. Can’t resist toast.I still managed to stay within my limits for calories. Just been to the park with Chloe and a dog ran up to her while she was having a poo 😂. It’s the first time Chloe hasn’t backed away and ended up sniffing the dogs bum😬😂it made my day.

The snowdrops were lovely as usual, we were both saying ours have disappeared from our gardens, very chilly though. Had a busy walk with Xena, normally might only see one person out early, but saw lots today, Xena very good with naughty Wally, a local dog who is not very friendly any more, she completely ignored him when he ran up to her growling and barking! She’s okay like that with smaller dogs…Did some shopping, had a doze on the sofa as I was awake at 3am! Have been hungry though but stuck to keto. Caught up with a friend who volunteers with the mounted police at Gloucestershire, it’s so sad, they might be closing the mounted section to save money, they don’t know for definite yet & don’t know where the horses will go…We’re going out tomorrow, hopefully I can resist any food!

Had a few games of bowls but only 3 of us playing so we play a game where the one on his own as to score 5 to win and the two players have to score 15 too win. Was raining when we started but stopped so not too bad a day, supposed to be warmer Schools are on half-term so can take Chloe out earlier than normal, she dosent like kids. They all want to stroke her.

Fueteventura is the first island in the canaries we went to. My favourite is Lanzarote.

Its a much warmer dayu here at 13 deg but of course we have the rain.. looks to be set in for the day by the forecast.

Yesterday I did a big shop at Tesco Dave I forgot about the butter beans I was going to ask.

So I am well stocked now for a while.. Trying to stop going to my local shop so much as its s very expensive.

Day 32 no Alc and not missing it at all now other than a fleeting thought about 6pm when I get Pips food.

Its my dreaded brass cleaning today .. I had cleaned it all recently but had ran out of brasso so my friend recommended the old fashioned way of vinegar yes it did look ok but very quickly looked dull . I keep thinking to put it all away although it looks lovely when all shiny.. I have pieces that where Mums and grans..

Day 16 without alcohol for me, I’m chasing you Hemmy.Got the woodwork painted on the stairs now the walls then it’s onto doing the living room, that’s putting wallpaper up. I’m not so steady on the ladders so wish me luck. Going to be difficult to lose weight while doing all this work. Makes you hungry working, I prefer being lazy 😂.I should take a leaf out of Chloe’s book and sleep 23 hours a day. No idea what I’m having for tea, all depends if I have a sandwich at 12oclock.Trying to keep the calories low but not easy at the moment.Denise is not well today upset stomach and as been feeling sick so hope it’s not that virus.I had it a while ago. Horrible thing.

H H I would imagine with your back ache and not sleeping it could be tension re your Mum.. Yoga is very good.
While things are a bit tense cut yourself a bit of slack re weight loss. It will be easier when we get into spring weather and lighter meals… Tasty salads etc.xx

Afternoon All..
Last day in Tenerife we have had a good walk around the city now back on board getting lunch.
We have had a good holiday obviously we would have preferred Jacqui to be better but it’s been fine.

Jacqui is holding her own but will see a doctor when back.. we might be wrong but we think viral meningitis. She is still getting a headache and dizzy at times but then perks up. Her rash is on her feet, legs and arms. There is not a lot we can do here.. if she gets worse we will take her to the ships doctor. We are keeping away from people and in the fresh air. Phil and I are still clear..
The chemist didn’t seem too bothered.

Hope you are all ok.. I shall be back home about 8pm Saturday night.

I have strained a muscle in my back, but the stretches recommended online made it worse, plus I stupidly tried to move my bird feeder today, thought it would be easy, had to give up on it! That & another thing I tried to help Mum with didn’t work so was feeling very grumpy & hangry so didn’t manage just one meal! It seems everything in her house has been done in such a complicated way, nothing is easy to get fixed! They changed lots of things which were fine & made life harder, beginning to wonder if Dad was getting dementia too…My sister is sorting a new light bulb for the kitchen, they had a fluorescent light put in & she can’t get hold of a new one!
At least the weather has been nice here & had a lovely walk with Xena, must end on a positive!

Roofers said it’s finally all done🙏🤟✌️👍. They are coming back next week to tidy up the back of the house. They did the front today. Still a bit too sweep up at the front but not much. A few nails about so will get rid of them, don’t want Chloe stepping on them. Very quiet on here today. I bought a bar of chocolate to give me a lift.I Denise or I leave the r room Chloe’s right on the seat where we were sat🤣.

All unpacked and washing in piles…
We have had a good time as good as last year. Azura is an old traditional ship with two black tie nights, very friendly staff who look after you.
I have put on 7 lbs while away .

Charlie has been fine but he’s not slept much at all. He has a tracker so I know what he gets up to. One day I think he got missed for a walk but he has had a lot of exercise playing with the other dogs the other days.

I have a bit of colour but all wrapped up now!
Charlie was very excited to see me but has totally crashed out yesterday and was very close to me last night.
Slow down like your mum says there’s another day.. share the work out over a few days it makes it easier. Mr Pip will look smart Charlie likes a good brush ( we don’t do water!) 😂

Good afternoon still feeling rotten.Chloe knows I’m now well. She keeps staring at me then coming up to me and rubbing her head against me ❤️. Had no food since 5pm Saturday so the virus will be doing some good. Not sure if I can eat yet, I do feel a little peckish now.

Lovely day yesterday, we did Church & went to my sister’s in the afternoon, her son & grandson were over, nice & Mum went as well, Archie is a sweetheart, he loves his books & singing, played with her dog Paddy too…a good day food wise, & will have just one meal today. Have pottered about a bit, back is improving but I feel it if I do much so being careful…
Dave- hope you feel better soon, dry toast? Sounds like your roof is finally fixed, shame about the cycling though…
Jean- good that Charlie was fine & busy on his holiday, & the cruise ship was as good as last time…I’m sure you’ll soon shift the extra pounds!

A bit chilly out but sunny..a lovely catchup with Natalie boys were fussy.

Playing Petanque today it must be 8 months since I played mostly due to my eyes, a few people have left. We have a full turn out of 12 people so two matches.. 3 on each side x 2..
I hope I don’t embarrass myself!😂

It been a beautiful spring like day quite warm at times.

Early long walk then Garden centre for noon. A lovely catch up and monthly lunch with Chris.

Coronation chicken on Jacket potato with salad .. all tasty but too much for me.
A good look around and exchanged some books as they have an exchange system.
Just an easy day as only played outside with Pip when I got back.
Tomorrow its Banbury to pay bills at the Post office. I miss my local Bank.
