    Morning all.

Everyone seems to be going well

    Angela chocolate yummy

Did I miss something? , sugar free February?

I have decided to go for the 4 fasts this week, so am on 3 of 4 ,hoping well but it may not last, last weigh in for January will be Friday for me.

    Catch you later xxx

    Morning all

NFD today after I was led astray with red wine last night – on a school night too! It was only the final glass that took me over my tdee though so hopefully not too bad.

It’s a very dreary day here but that does mean we can have the office blinds open – when the sun shines it makes it impossible for some people to see their computer screens, every cloud and all that.

FD tomorrow so what are your top tips for the evening meal before a fast day?

Catch you later – have a good day all! Clare x

    Clare

Personally I try to fast from the evening meal the day before the fast until lunchtime the day after the fast… if makes it a long time approx 40 hrs.. but seems to work for me!

I am a binge eater so find once I start eating I cannot stop so for me it’s easier to just not eat at all…

Caspdexy I haven’t heard about sugar free Feb.either??

    Aud x

    Hi Audrey and Caspdexy

Sugar Free February is a Cancer Research challenge. I’m really keen to control my sugar intake as that’s my nemesis, so from this morning I’m going ‘added’ sugar free. Hopefully by the end of the month the white stuff will have less of a hold on me.

    Have a great day.

    Lynne x

    Thanks Lynne

I will go online and take a look at it…

    Aud x

    Hi lovelies πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ’—πŸ’—,

Hubbie home and all is right with the world lol πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜. He’s lost 1st 8lbs so far. Not sure what weight I gave Kay last. It’s been a bit all over the place with going away. Hes looking good n healthy (even though he was looking good before lol πŸ˜‚). He’s lost 2.5 inches round the waist and an inch off his neck. Smaller shirts at the end of this I think.

Anyway, need to get going as off to work for a few hrs.

    Have a nice day everyone

    Love Louise πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ€—πŸ€—xxx

Louise glad hubby is home safe and looking good!! 😍😍…

I am having a different fast day today, I have stewed some frozen plums which I picked off my tree this summer with some rhubarb…and added some stevia., lovely and low calorie…alway think about Ginette when I cook rhubarb..

    Aud x

Audrey, glad you are feeling a bit better. I lost a couple of days last week too, it’s no fun πŸ™

Louise, glad to have your bouncy self back! And Iain! I had him down as 14lbs down, so now he’s at 22lbs!!

Wow, Tammy, 4 fasts! 2 is plenty for me..lol

87 pebbles in the jar and still several days to go πŸ™‚

    Hi Kay

My final weigh in for JSJ will be Saturday if that’s OK… I started in the 2nd week of January as I was ill if you remember with that awful virus…. so hopefully a loss this week.. hoping the fruit today will help…

87 pebbles is great…. we should all dance to celebrate lol πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

    Audrey x

Whoo big cheer please I have finished my virtual marathon walk…😎😎😎

    Aud x

    Well done, Audrey!

My walking is about to get a bit curtailed. With a collapsing dog, that part of my walking day has been shrinking a bit already, but turns out it’s a disc problem, and he is in surgery as I type. We should get him home on Saturday, with a broad stripe shaved down his spine, as well as a few missing patches elsewhere for lines in, etc. That will make him a sorry enough sight, but when he discovers he’s confined to bed for two weeks, only outside to wee…well, I hope the vet tells him, but I wouldn’t want to! With luck, we should have him back to fighting fit in about 6weeks, and given how terrified I’ve been that his number was up, well, I’ll cope with the rest of it!

Think we need to find a dog-sitter rather than put him in kennels when we go away this month.

Anyway, a bits and pieces sort of NFD – comfort ate my way through a number of KitKat, but tomorrow will be a FD, and my weigh in for January.

    Mx

    Hi minols

Sorry to hear about the dog as the owner of 2 dogs I totally sympathise with you but at least hopefully he is now on the mend…πŸΆπŸΆπŸΆπŸ•πŸ•πŸ•…

My 2 would be sorry doggies too if they didn’t get their daily fix of exercise… let me know how he gets on please

Oh and step away from the kit kats…lol

I am ready to eat now. Today is a hard fast day..πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯

    Aud

Keep going, Audrey…you can do it! Not long to go now, and then I’ll take the baton from you for tomorrow.
    Mx

Well done Aud on completing your marathon.

Minols, sorry to hear about your dog. I agree a dog sitter rather than kennels will be better for him. I no longer take my cat to a cattery and instead have someone sit her, it’s far less stressful for the animal. x

Tammy, 4 fasts… be careful not to send your body into starvation mode. a few of us did 3 last week with no real benefit seen.

Arrived in Gent in Belgium, quick coffee and change and off for dinner. Clare, I will be having wine on a school night πŸ˜†. I did refuse the free Belgian chocs on the plane though (had enough sugar last night! πŸ˜‚) xx

    Evening everyone

Angela, no Belgium chocolate can compare with a cadburys cream egg anyway….

Minols, sorry to hear about dog. Hopefully he is now out of surgery and can begin the recovery

Louise, pleased hubby home and adding ao fulsomely to our beach too. Taken up where you left off in terms of pebbles lol

Audrey well done on completing marathon, hope NY was fun. Plums and rhubarb, how very lovely.

So had a peak on the scales and was not amused and for no good reason. That is not related to me having piece of cake today. I know it sounds like an excuse but it’s sort of necessary at these difficult tea meetings of me and one other. Is it necessary or am I just telling myself that??? Cauliflower rice and veg chilli tonight.

Kay Is there difference after a normal fast day from and liquid one? I am fasting tomorrow amd going to try desperately to get a liquid one done, given I mucked up Monday. Motivation in short supply for me at the mo and seem to feel hnugry all the time with still a long way to go to maintenance.

Hope everyone ok. Have a good evening xx

That’s me done for the day under 350 kcals…

Good luck my fellow fasters…we can do this together one day at a time, because together we are stronger…

    Audrey xx

    Hi all
Sorry been awol again hubby had his bank account hacked taken over a week to get it sorted.

Well I only lost half this week so my total is 10lb for JSJ I pledged 14 hopefully will knuckle down and get back on track.

Had my bunion op today feeling ok but that’s me off me feet for 6 weeks so must stick to my fast day.

Hello to all the newbies you have come to the right forum for lots of advice.
    Lynda πŸ’•

    Lynda

Hope you are back on your feet soon, just stick to the basics you should be OK…get well soon my friend ❀❀

    Audrey xx

In case any one is interested BBC 2… 8pm-9pm

New series. Medical journalist Michael Mosley and the team of doctors return to investigate the best way to keep calories in check – dieting or exercise. Plus, Saleyha Ahsan looks into whether probiotic products can improve health, Chris van Tulleken discovers whether red wine lives up to its healthy reputation, and Gabriel Weston witnesses a sternum implant operation carried out using 3D printing – the first procedure of its kind in the UK Xx

Oooh thanks Hemmy I am interested. Hopefully the red wine section isn’t going to disappoint me though…

Lynda, glad the bunion op over. Good wishes for a speedy recovery x

Thanks hemmy I have set my sky box to record…busy carpet cleaning……don’t ask!

    Audreyx

    Well hello all

Lovely to see you back Hemmy. As you know I have been away for a while now, life has been hectic over the last few months. Pam is in hospital, it has been four weeks now and she will be there a few weeks yet. I have been in contact with Audrey and Jean while off of the forum.

Needless to say I have put on weight. I estimate over a stone. Having lost 5 stone this is a disappointment. I am now trying to get back to healthy eating and then fasting again.

Hemmy, how are you. I was so worried about you. Glad to see you are back and seem well. Hi Kay, Lynda, Mino, I shall get to know all the new faces soon and I’m pleased to see that this thread is so busy.

Just dipping my toe in the water tonight but will write more later

    Ginette xx

    Evening all

WELCOME BACK GINETTE….. Audrey is positively dancing all around the house now… Both Hemmy and Ginette… whoop whoop.. You have been missed…. and now I am no longer the longest serving person on here hehe think you beat me by a couple of weeks Ginette..

Don’t worry about the gain ….you are in good company and that’s all I will say… we will soon start losing again together again… like the good old days…

I am in bed now so will be back tomorrow. .. what a good month this has been. .. the return of my friends… I will sleep happy tonight…

Night all. Together we are stronger

    Audrey x

    Hi Audrey

Bless you, it’s nice to have been missed, I will approach those dreaded scales next week! I need to dust them off first……

Hopefully when I get back on the wagon I shall feel better as well.

See you tomorrow, is Coffee still around?

    Evening all,

Welcome back Ginette, look forward to getting to know you, I have been around since October, love all the people and support.

    Lynda hope you heal quick

Well day 3 of 4 complete, have actually surprised myself at how well its going, had a couple of mugs of soup for tea and allowed myself a treat of 2 small pigs in blankets, left in the freezer from xmas, did a huge freezer shop and ran out of room, so they got cooked, hubby ate all of them except my 2, but still came in under my 500, last day tomorrow, then hopefully a good result on the scales Friday.

    Tammy xxx

Hi Ginette, I’m a newbie been here a month now.

Sarah, I’m assuming you’re eating the cake because she is? In which case, you’re doing the right thing. I know you feel like you shouldn’t but right now you’re prioritising. Don’t worry about it. Life is a balancing act.

Tammy, after 3 days I’m surprised you’re not worse. We’ll done for going this long.

Aud, Kay, Jean, Clare, Lynda and anyone I missed. Hope you had a good day.

I had: Hamp egg & chips at the airport. Smoked salmon starter with salad and steak and salad main for dinner. I denied dessert. Unfortunately what I have had is a bucket load of wine…. πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚.

Home late tomorrow so I’ll catch up Friday. xx

    Hi Tammy

Yes it’s a great thread and lots of support. As Audrey says we were here at the start…..a long time ago. Well done on the fast day. Let’s hope it shows on the scales. X

    Hi Gtts

I am assuming you are either going or coming back from somewhere. I don’t blame anybody for chasing the sunshine. I don’t like it too hot but I can do without so much rain.

At least you didn’t have wine and dessert, so that is good.

Night all off to bed now…..

    Happy Thursday fellow brits πŸ™‚

Fasting today for me, sipping fruit tea and taking it an hour at a time. I’ve been popping paracetamol like crazy since I’ve been on this plan, I really hope the headaches subside soon.

Did a good workout this morning .. feeling great, I love how it helps my mood more than anything. Its SO worth it just for that!

Good luck with the day everyone! Keep the support going, it really does help πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    xx

Morning df… I am sure the headaches will pass soon, did you try the oxo cube? Are you drinking enough water?

It’s a non fast day for me thank goodness because I was hungry all day yesterday, isn’t it funny how some fast days are easier than others? I wonder if it is to do with the food we eat the day before?

Anyhow I am rambling on, I will get off now, lots to do today and I want you do 30 miss on the treadmil..

Back later, have a good day all fast or non fast

    Audrey x

Hi Audrey πŸ™‚ On previous fast days I’ve used OXO, or sometimes Bovril. I need to get some more .. it certainly does help πŸ™‚ Enjoy your day πŸ™‚

Good morning FB Friends… Hope all is well with you and yours. Xx

A very damp one again today for shopping.

Gine… Wonderful to see you back Xx So sorry Pam is not well… must be lots of worry and extra work for you visiting.

You will soon get back in the swing… We are all here for you. Just take it steady that’s what I am doing now. Nice and easy. Xx

Hope everyone else enjoys the day whatever you are doing. Xx

    Love this quote…. Brit Lovelies…

Life reflects you and what you do. The real you is not who you see in the mirror but who you see yourself as in your mind. Your mind reflects you. If you don’t like what you see in the mirror, then change the picture of it or edit it. The truth about life is that you are editable if you place focus on the person in the mind more than the person in the mirror. See yourself as you want to be, not as who you are presently.” Xx

Hemmy, I do love your quotes πŸ™‚ x

    Morning all

Well I’m popping paracetamols to take the edge off the pain in my foot set up a little kitchen thingy in the bedroom got a little fridge with milk and Greek yogurt and cereal, satsumas and some snack shots at 91 cals so like like a low cal day till Friday when my hubby home.
Mum was suppose to come and stay but not well herself so here on my own.

Hi Ginette glad your back full of knowledge this woman to help you on this WOL.
    Lynda x

    Morning everyone

FD for me today and I need it. Eat within TDEE yesterday but still gained 1.3lb, hopefully a lot of water retention as MFP shows higher than usual sodium intake.

I managed yesterday with my first day of no sugar, so hope this will aid the weight loss as the month goes on.

I’m anticipating a stressful day tomorrow with a hospital appointment for husband, so will really need to try and keep control but I have purposefully switched my FD for the week.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Lynne x

Morning all and welcome back Ginette

Angela, it is interesting the way we use food for reasons other than nutrition or just pleasure. Yesterday I was trying to use it to strengthen a relationship. My tea ‘companion’ does eat cake and is very slim. I compensated over the day so not too worried. Have a safe trip back.

    Tammy, amazing willpower!

Lynda, look after yourself, sounds tough on your own. Pleased your Oh back tomorrow.

Fasting today. Trying for usual LF after the blip on Monday Have a good day all. Xx

Lynne, meant to say I was up yesterday for no good reason I could see (before the cake!). That will teach me to weigh midweek. I have done that before though and still managed a loss at the end of the week. I guess it is just normal fluctuations.

HI All – and welcome back Ginette.

FD for me – and I’ve started with a bit of a headache, too, DF. We’ll keep each other going today. I noticed Lynne’s fasting – anyone else? I’m going to try and hold all my cals for an early ‘normal’ tea with the boy, and then treat myself to a long quiet walk to this evening’s meeting in another part of town…and hopefully arrive after all the introductory nibbles are done!

Dog is through the surgery – will hear at lunchtime how he’s dealing with the methodone pain control! I imagine him chasing rainbows as well as the usual rabbits in his sleep (he has a VERY active dream life!)

    Off to find the ibuprofen…

    Mx

    Morning all

FD today & I remembered to buy some Bovril so will give that a go later. Blew all my remaining calories last night on a 1 minute chocolate mug cake, 303 cals but was so lovely – the only problem is the recipe makes 3 portions so I have to be disciplined and make sure my boy is around to help me out!

Hope you all have a great day, welcome back Ginette – look forward to getting to know you.

    Clare x

FD for me too today, so far 1 boiled egg for brekkie, 2 coffees black and a glass of Diet Coke……looking forward to my 106 calorie lunch of M&S sushi pack…..stuffed peppers tonight for tea 277 calories…..

It’s just 24 hours…..it’s just 24 hours…..keeps going around in my head….playing that when I lay on the beach in 2 weeks the harpoon just misses me…

    Cookie x

Attempting another fast day but not completed one yet since it all went array. Not sleeping, feel exhausted. Hip pain not improving despite the cortisone injection. I think all of this is contributing to my eating problem. Need to pull myself together really.
    Audrey
I hope your now over your migraine.
    Minols
I hope your dog is improving after the surgery. It’s amazing what they can do for animals now. We had a great Dane puppy that collapsed while playing but unfortunately he had a congenital spine deformity and even after taking him to Liverpool animal hospital, there was nothing they could do.

Going to make my soup for the days fast. Fingers crossed I can get through this day.

    X Carol

Carol my head is a lot better now thanks, just a bit woozy still..

Sorry you have your hip pain still, I have received my next appointment for the pain clinic this morning… it’s aptly named lol… I hope you manage a successful day today, we are here to lend a hand or ear if you need us …

Just off to break my fast, I am extremely hungry…

    Audrey x

Cookie you fd looks more exciting than mine! What are you stuffing your peppers with?

    Clare x

Oh no Minols! Your coming out in sympathy for me πŸ˜› Hope your headache doesn’t get too bad *hug*

Its lunch time on my fast day. Doing ok and feeling strong food wise. I’m struggling to concentrate at work though. It seems so noisy in here today .. just been for a walk in the fresh air (and strong wind) to help clear my head.

Hope I can get through the afternoon!

    Stay strong everyone.

    xx

    Hi Clare,

It’s a good housekeeping eat well stay well recipe. Yellow Pepper stuffed with garlic, shallots, red chilli, rice, cumin coriander and chopped tomatoes

    It’s quite nice

    X

Hi all – hope fasters are surviving. My stomach starting to rumble. Just had a cup ov Bovril, and will be heading off to give a talk at a ladies meeting in a few minutes…hope that provides sufficient distraction! Then it’s a dash to the school for the boy, a long walk to Tesco for food…that will be my hit of cals for the day! Can’t wait – must wait – WILL wait!

    Mx

    Afternoon all,

Minols hope doggy is ok and recovering well.

    Carol you can do this.

Good luck to all fasters there is a few of us.

I am on 4/4, and although it has not been nearly as bad as I thought, I am planning breakfast for tomorrow and I haven’t even had tea yet lol.

Was thinking of maybe having some pizza, but of it turns out to be just one slice then I will just finish my soup.

Stay strong everyone, tomorrow we can eat.

    Xxx

Hi Everyone… just a quickie before unpacking shopping.

Anyone else find this… After an FD yesterday … usually well ready for breakfast today.

Busy this morning and never had time for it…. come lunch time having our usual shopping snack was really not bothered felt full. Still feel the same now … isn’t that strange.

Anyone else find that. Maybe I should cut out breakie for good. Lolol

Min hope your four legged friend is feelingy ok… not in any pain. Xx

Come on Carol .. you can do this my love. Xx

Hope all the headaches have disappeared. Xx

    Hi Dfly

Drink lots, sugar free jellies, get liquid in any way you can, as Audrey says a salty rink like oxo will help you get sorted out, sometimes our bodies struggle with the lack of water and salt, of course it is our minds that suffer from the lack of food πŸ™‚

Stay steady and think tomorrow is a normal day….

    Hi Audrey

Good that you are back on the treadmill, it’s nice to be back and as you said it’s very busy here now…..

    Hi Hemmy

Yes I’m going to take it easy, it will be a couple of weeks to fasting, I have to work my way through some food in my fridge first and then go over to healthy food again. I’ve made a start and I know that I am seeing my health trainer in the next couple of weeks so that will be my starting point.

    Hi Lynda

Nice to be back, your op sounds painful but hopefully will soon mend. Hope the pain lessens quickly x

    Hi Pasha

Have you worked out your TDEE on my fitness pal. You can set a goal in your profile bit and it will give you a calorie count that is very different from the one on this tracker. More realistic I would say. It is a bit trial and effor at the beginning.

    Hi Sarah

Just get back to normal the day after an overindulgence day and you will be fine, we all have those days but we need to get back on the wagon and not beat ourselves up about it.

Too many of these is what causes the problem, I am finding that and feeling uncomfortable for it.

    Hi Mino

Thanks, it is a real worry when our pets are ill, you can relax again when he is home again. I hope your headache is better X

    Hi Cookie

Yes you are right just 24 hours……. soon be over x

    Hi Claire

I’ll post some recipes in a minute, I have posted them before.

    Hi Cdex

What is a 4/4? Is that 4 days on 4 days off?
